Oh, btw, I just noticed that I previously said that we'd start with one more member, but my ability to count doesn't seem to be quite average. I wasn't planning to cut down to nine so far.

Alright, I've decided to start the game right now, with nine players, because it took too long for a tenth to show up. You may have found it notable that I didn't post all the rules at once. This is because it's quite a big game and I don't want to give it all away at once, and because I had only one chance to have people play a game that's unknown to them. I may repeat this game in the future, and when I do, all the rules will already be known to everyone, so that you can exactly determine your strategy.
I am very happy that nine players have entered without even knowing the details about the game, and I welcome all of you to The Fool's Game - Cloak and Dagger.

[b]Intro[/b]
After this stage will be a Bet- and Claiming Stage. Before you read the rules, I want you to know something about this stage.

In the Bet- and Claiming Stage, participants make a Bet by transferring any amount of points (the Bet), and they will then Claim how much their Bet was (the Claim). Participants will make their Claim directly after their Bet, and in a certain order, which can effectively give them an advantage. This stage will decide in which order participants will make their Claims, namely by Order Spots and in ascending order.[/align]

[*]There are as many Order Spots as the number of participants there are.
[i]In this case, there are Order Spots 1 to 9.[/i]
[*]This stage starts with an Order Spot Round, in which each participant has 24 hours to PM me which Order Spot they prefer.
[*]At the end of the 24 hours, or when all players have sent me a PM containing their preferred Order Spot, I will announce the Order Spot that every participant preferred and the Order Spot Round ends.
[*]Participants that didn't conflict in an Order Spot Round will have their preferred Order Spot assigned to them.
[*]If there are conflicts with participant's preferred Order Spots, each participant that conflicted with one or more participant will receive a penalty of 20 points.
[*]If there were conflicts in the Order Spot Round, or when 2 or more participants didn't [i]PM me their preferred Order Spot[/i] there will be another Order Spot Round.
[*]Participants that have an Order Spot assigned to them, or that haven't paid their penalties yet, cannot participate in new Order Spot Rounds.
[*]Order Spots that are assigned to a player, are occupied and cannot be chosen as a preferred Order Spot.
[*]If only 1 participant didn't me PM which Order Spot they prefer at the end of an Order Spot, and there were conflicts between other participants, that participant may still participate in the next Order Spot Round.
[*]If only 1 participant didn't me PM which Order Spot they prefer at the end of an Order Spot, and there is also 1 Order Spot open, that Order Spot will be assigned to that participant.
[*]If 2 or more participants didn't PM me which Order Spot they prefer at the end of an Order Spot Round, both/all of those participants will receive a penalty of 100 points.
[*]This stage ends when every participant has an Order Spot assigned to them, at which point the next stage will commence.

I am sorry for the bad clarification, but the goal of this Stage is to get a Order Spot. If you have an Order Spot, you're fine and you don't have to PM me a preferred Order Spot in following Order Spot Rounds. I didn't expect me to miss anything with that whole bunch of rules.

I'm sorry, but the game has already started and I can therefore not allow this. The game isn't made to allow such a thing, and it would've been irresponsible.

 

If I'm going to host this game again, you can off course join.

I'd like everybody to know that the current Order Spot Round might take slightly longer than normally, because I'll be away at the time that the round should finish.

 

Also, I thought that it was obvious, but a penalty that doesn't get paid in time will not only make you unable to participate in future Order Spot Rounds, but therefore also make you unable to participate in the rest of the game. You will be removed.

Stage Two: Bet and Claim

 

Alright, this stage is what we've been preparing for. All of you have an Order Spot, and now you will make a Bet and a Claim in that order. Read these rules very carefully if you want to make as much points as possible.

 

The rules

1. Participants will make a bet by transferring any amount of points above 0 to me and including "Cloak and Dagger BET" in the description.
   
2. Participants make their Bet in an order based on their Order Spot, in ascending order.
   
3. In addition to a Bet, a participant may, before or after making the Bet, lend me any amount of points. These points will be returned at the end of the game round and will not be used to award the winning player(s). This will be the only exception to the first rule of the promise.
   
4. When a participant has made a Bet, they must make their Claim before 10 minutes have passed.
   
5. To make a Claim, post in this topic an amount of points above 0.
   
6. The Claim cannot be more than 500% of the Bet.
   
7. When a participant has made his Claim, the next participant (in order described in rule 2) will have 24 hours to make their Bet.
   
8. If a participant fails to make their Bet or Claim in time, their possible Bet will be refunded and they will stop participating in this game.
   
9. This stage ends when all participants have made a Claim, at which point the next stage will commence.
   
10. The winner of this stage is the participant that has made the highest unique Bet.
    
11. The winner of this stage receives a prize that can be determined with the following formula:

    Prize = Sum of Bets of all participants - 300% of winner's Bet

12. If the winner's prize is a negative amount of points, the prize will be 0 points instead.

Also, if you have read these rules carefully, you'll notice that this stage is not enough to keep my promise of spending all points involved in this game to winner(s). That's why I'll give you this information:

This is not the final stage. After this, there will be another stage where the rest of the points can be won by one or more participants. I will also tell you that the participant with the highest unique bet, and the participant(s) with the lowest bet cannot participate in this 'bonus' stage. Keep in mind that the prizes in both this and the next stage is completely dynamic; you decide how this game will end.

 

 

Finally, I'd like to share a hint that should be obvious and unneeded:

Use communication, and use it right.
