New Pokemon Splice Splicer's School

Recommended Posts

Due to Raelen's departure from this website, a new Splicing school has been made. Everyone who wishes to transfer from the old school is welcome to do so.

The purpose of this club is to help new splicers establish and improve their techniques. Think of this as a partial school; you turn in your work to be graded and critiqued. We encourage you to learn from your mistakes and study the mistakes of others to better yourselves.

Teachers:

EocDragon: Current Headmaster

Prometheus: Professor of Splicing Theory

Twisted: Substitue/Alternate Teacher

El Beasto Perezoso: Teacher

OneWord: Teacher

[spoiler=All splices i've made in the past three days]1r5d79.png

just wanted to share

We've commented on most of them already.

The Alakazam with weapons is simple, but well done.

Your Gengar splice seems cluttered and suffers from a cut off top and bottom. The right claw and wings need shading.

The Groudon splice does not work well. The right arm is ok, but the left arm is off entirely. It also faces the wrong way, it looks as if the palm is facings outward.

Will fix the left wing (our left.) What else is wrong? BTW' date=' this was a shop order.

Forehead area is too bright in relation to the rest of the splice. Either make the forehead darker or make the more of the splice brighter.

Ok, sorry I didn't post the first lesson. Finals are around the corner and the teachers are pressing harder than ever. So I have not had a chance to make it. So it might not be up until early june. XP

Wow, it has been a while since I did anything with sprites. So here is a complex recolor of Pikachu using charizard's colors.

I haven't done something like this in a while, so tell me what you think.

Just to be clear, is the tail area intended to have multiple colors?

The blue patch bothers me. It clashes too much and seems too out of place.

Better?

One, last thing, change the bottom of the belly area to match the rest of the belly colors. Right now its some sort of brown, make it tan like the rest of the belly. Also, lighten up the shading where the (our) right wing meets the body. Make it so it matches the color it touches.
