The attack is not negated; it continues through unhindered. The monster is just moved to another column. That's it. It's meant to play in favor of the Masterminds and set up Senet combos.

It has never mattered what column the monsters were in during the Battle Phase since the beginning of Yu-Gi-Oh. The only times a column has ever mattered is when a card effect said it affected a specific one - like 'Needle Wall'. All this card is doing is saying "Hey, you can move over here so you can't destroy me. Sure, you're still gonna hit me. It's just not gonna kill me."

Effect: Once per turn, you can place this card in an adjacent monster card zone. Each time this card's effect is activated, place one spell counter on this card. (Max. 2) You can remove 2 spell counters from this card to draw one card, destroy one monster on your opponents field, and destroy this card.

 

Needs better OCG, but OP?
