Chapter 1

 

On one beautifull day in the Mushroom Kingdom, Marrio, Luigi, Pricess Peach and Yoshi took a walk in the woods. And a golden tint caught Mario's eye. Spliting from the others, Mario dug in the ground a little, to dig up the thing glowing. The others soon realized that Mario had gone missing from the party, and went out to look for him. In less than 5 minutes, they found him. In the meanwhile, Mario had found something of his own. A little ring. A ring with strange marking carved on it. A ring that seemed to glow. A ring that made Mario feel strange whenever he touched it. Mario soon heard a strange voice in his head that sounded evil, he stoped touching it at that, but Mario wanted the ring so badly that when it fell from his pocket, he lunged for it and cried "My precious". Mario did not know why he called it that it just sounded like the right thing to call a ring that seemed to be very magical. Mario did not know what was going on in his head, something said that the ring was evil and he should drop it, another part of him said, keep the ring, it's powers will help you.

Mario soon realized he had strayed from the group, afer all, he stayed louching the ring for twenty minutes or so, and he soon made his way back to them. When his brother, Luigi asked to see the shiny thing in his hand, Mario's eyes went black, and with a evil grin, simply spoke "no".

 

 

 

Soon the party had reached the Murshroom Palace, and they were in the courtyard eating and relaxing and just having a good time, when Mario, a little disturbed by the ring's power, decided to cast it off the balcany of the courtyard and into the lake. After all, what is a mere plumber to hold a ring of unimaginable power, of couse Mario did'nt know this yet, but the ring made him feel uneasy.

Holding the ring in his right hand, he dangled of the balcany, deciding whether to do this or not. Reaching his hand back, about to cast the ring into the small lake in front of the grand Mushroom Kingdom Palace, the mysterious voice came in to his head again, and so did images of a dark place with a tower with a glowing eye upon it, or it looked like eye. They eye seemed to come closer to him, or he closer to the eye, he did not know, he was very frightened and droped the ring on the stones that made up the balcany/courtyard. His decision was made, he should not simply discard a object of this power, but to keep it for himself.

 

In the night, Mario was sleeping in his bed in one of the many guest rooms of the magnificant Mushroom Place, when Pricess Peach entered his room to see how he was doing, she soom saw the Ring sitting upon his bedside table and wondered what it was and how Mario obtained it. It looked formilliar to something she had seen in a book long ago, but she did not remember which book that was.

 

The next day, Mario awoke to the smell of coffee and pancakes coming from the kitchens. He arose from his bed and walked down the stairs, down the hallway, to the Dining Room. Seated at one of the five tables, was Luigi, Yoshi, Princess Peach and Prince Toadstool, the Toadstool Servers brought a cart of some of the finest food to the table, of course, sence Mario had arived in the Mushroom Kingdom, he had always eaten this way.

 

Mario then remembered the ring on his bedside table and thought that a very risky place to leave a object of that power, so he ran up to his room without telling the others, and placed the ring is his pocket.
