Zexaeon
The woman couldn't help but giggle. Dura was so...power-hungry. It was funny. Even now, she knew he was watching her actions, and took sadistic delight in the fact that there wasn't a thing he could do about it. Dura held no sway over the realm of spirits. The only thing he could was attack her directly. And combat with a powerful Zanpakuto spirit was quite likely something he would try to avoid, if he could help it, that is. Although, he was still not to be underestimated. Just because he couldn't interfere with her world, or the Spirits in general, didn't mean he wasn't a powerful adversary. But he was probably even more steamed that she was taking Mateo away from him. If Mateo signed her contract, he would be freed from Dura's grasp. "I advise we hurry. I don't want interuptions. My brother, Zangetsu, should be holding off Dura's puny assassin as we speak."
Dad
Shiro's eyes were glazed with blood. "Move aside old man, or I shall take your life." Zangetsu refused. Turning around he easily punctured Shiro's stomach, tearing at vital organs. He kicked Shiro to the ground, and sliced at his neck. However, Shiro knew he could not be so easy on Zangetsu. Catching the blade with both hands, Shiro kicked Zangetsu in the stomach, and managed to draw blood from the scars he left on the old man. The old waved a hand over his body, as though he were a male model, closing his wounds. "You can't defeat me boy, and I know your spirit. It is futile to attempt to stop my dear sister. If you wish to have your dignity and pride as a Shinigami and a Kenpachi restored, you must take the will to endure Dura's wrath, and with my sister's help, we may be able to save you. But attacking me and attempting to stop Mateo is not in your best interest," Zangetsu said determined. "Turn back Shiro. It is. . .your best--no. Your only hope." Zexaeon
OOC: And they go together, too. Kagetsuki is more like a supporting Spirit - she can tie fates together, manipulate Reiatsu, and rules the realm of dreams. Meanwhile, Zangetsu is more battle type - he can heal injuries, create doubles, moves amazingly, and is frighteningly powerful. Two sides to a coin. =P
Signosis
Jo's tail swished around upon the ground impatiently, her hips moving the oppisite direction of it."Make no mistake, Espada. I foolishly underestimated the power of your kind in the past; you will not be so fortunate as to gain benefit from such folly." Jo shrugged, looking into his eyes. They were so full of hate and coldness. Was it because she was an Arranacar? She did it..for herself...?'No!' Jo thought frantically, a feeling flooding back to her. 'I did it...to become stronger....Shiro...he spoke of....'She looked up to see the thousands of swords lined up around her. "Chire, Senbonzakura Kageyoshi" Jo stared at him in slight horror. "Now then, Espada. Shall we begin?" She shook her head, looking to the ground. "Kuchiki...there was a machine Shiro spoke of," She began, looking back up at him, hope in her eyes. "Is there...a chance?" Jo gripped onto Okibi Kokutan, hoping...praying that he had the answer she wished for.
harhar
Kaien smiled. "You cant really believe that, do you? No matter the amount of light, there will always be shadows." Kaien braced himself for Amago's attack. He raised his sword a second time and absorbed his clone. "With all the excitement, I almost forgot, blind men shouldn't hold weapons." Guest
"I'm going guess that Dura wants me dead now correct?" Mateo grabbed the pen and signed his name on the contract, sealing the deal that the parchment contained. With the last letter hitting the parchment the Arrancar quickly dropped the pen. showing that he was done with the signing. "Thump. Thump Thump..." A heart beat quickly rang through Mateo's head, something he completely forgot about.
Zexaeon
"That is correct." she replied, as he signed the contact. "Alright, it is done. We can begin immediately - and don't worry, it won't hurt. I don't know WHY Dura and Kiron are so fixed upon pain with everything..." she sighed, rolling up the contract and reaching forward. She could already hear his heartbeat coming back to life with the signing as her hand drew closer. Eventualy, it slipped right into his chest, passing through the flesh as though it were naught but water. "See? No pain. Probably a strange feeling, since a hand just went into your chest, but not painful, right?" her hand continued its trip, until it touched upon that very heart that was beating. "And now to cast aside your shell." she informed him, removing her hand. Floating above her open palm was a glowing, red orb. Inside this orb, Mateo's heart could clearly be seen. And it was the last thing his current body saw, as the absence of a heart caused blackness to envelop him. ... Of course, that only lasted briefly. Light returned in moments, and he found himself staring up at Kagetsuki's serene face, smile dancing on her lips. "There we go. I've reformed your heart, your soul, into your new, spiritual body. Take a look at yourself." she instructed, pointing him over to a pond. "Your appearance is substantially different now. What you will see in your reflection is the appearance of your true, spiritual essence. You are now a Zanpakuto Spirit - a FREE Zanpakuto spirit, fully within his rights to appear in the living world in your true shape, and not as a sword. Drink all that in," - Gran struggled a bit, getting to his feet. The Captain was getting serious already. That blowhad hurt. 'Man...I'm no match for this guy at all....' he thought, with a sigh. "Best to bring out the big guns now, then." he decided, disappearing and reappearing behind the Captain, a Cero forming in his claw. The technique was a familiar one, but was no slower than before, as Gran Bell quickly circled Zaraki, dragging the cero with him in a stream of red, expanding it, until Zaraki was at last enclosed in a sphere of shining, crimson energy. Gran backed himself up a good distance. "Dia Roja." he announced, clenching his clawed fist as the sphere of Cero slammed inward into itself, closing in on the Captain. Eric smirked, still struggling to find all the pieces of his body Zaraki had obliderated earlier. "The fool let himself get surrounded by that? It's as good as over." Gran heard that. And he sighed. "Please. Not by a long-shot is it over." - Byakuya raised an eyebrow at Jo's sudden...change in disposition. Suddenly, she seemed hopeful, she seemed desperate, and all at once, she looked overwhealmed with regret. "Shirou? ...I see. He told you of a method to restore yourself, correct? I am afraid it is far too late for that. The device he spoke of is designed to extract the corrupted soul from a Hollow, and reform it into a Whole - this reverses Hollowfication at the cost of all the individual's Spiritual Power. But you," he stated, pointing at Jo with no emotion on his face. "You are already an Arrancar. You have crossed the point of no return. Put down your sword now, and I may be willing to spare you my judgment; continue to stand against me, standing for our enemy, and I will cut you down without question. Make your decision, Espada." The millions of blades were already circling, closing in, cutting off escape routes. They were prepared to skewer, all depending on Jo's next choice. - Mileya backed up again, nursing the wond on her Jaw from Yoruichi's mighty kick. Damn, that chick could really hit. No time to mess around here. "Elena-chan, I'm going to release, alright? There's no need for you to do so - just you in your normal state should be enoughto defeat her with my Resurrecion backing you." She raised the Boomerange up, tossing it casually as it began to whirl in circles around her. "Warae, Avispa Cuatra!"
Guest
Mateo looked into the mirror, His old hollow mask had disappeared allowing full vision of his face and hair. The spirit's robe also changed, going from a black and purple priest robe into one of a grand silk and of a dark purple that was touched with a bit of a green that seemed to repersent poison. There was also a new Zonpaktou and hilt resting on Mateo's waist, it was the length of his former four blades and seemed to take up a good chunk of space. "Hmm not bad, I didn't think the robes would be this soft or that my Zonpaktou would change again." A good chunk of reiatsu also poured into the new Spirit that quickly combined with the amount he gained back. "So, what exactly can I do as a Spirit?" Zexaeon
"Well, for starters, your Zanpakuto is essentially yourself. When a Shinigami uses a Zanpakuto, they are using the borrowed powers of the Spirit of that Zanpakuto. When a Spirit uses a Zanpakuto, they are using their OWN powers - and since no one knows a Spirit's power better than that Spirit itself, rest assured you will be intensely powerful. In fact, you should already be able to release your Bankai - after all, you ARE your Bankai. Since you are the Spirit, that sword is nothing more than an extension of yourself. In addition to your new combat ability, you should have presidence over whatever you govern. For example, me and my brother are Zanpakuto opf the moon. He controls its power, while I control its mystic abilities. I imagine you probably have government over Poisons, Serpents, and anything associated with it. Lastly, as a Spirit, you are free to enter and leave the Living World, and return to the Spirit World. You will also be free to share your power with other Shinigami, if you wish." Guest
The new spirit nodded as he placed his hand on his hilt, slowly pulling it out. "So then if I pull out myself then I should be able to learn my possibilities correct?" Mateo finished pulling out the hilt from the sheath, causing a small blinding light to cover his eyes. As soon as the spirit's sight returned he looked in his hands to see what seemed to be a black sqaured hilt with what seemed to be a purple reiatsu coming out to form the blade. Yet in his other hand seemed to be a wooden yew longbow, the bow seemed to be painted green and doned a serpent focal that matched with it's slender build and darker green string. "A bow and a short sword wasn't exactly what I was expecting with such a large sheath but I guess it fits me a bit more. So I'm guessing that we should be heading back to the Living world then?" Mateo went to put back his new weapons as he noticed the sheath shrank to the size of the small hilt while the rest seemed to form a small bow holder on his back. OOC: Bet you weren't expecting a bow in a giant ass sheath like that :P
Zexaeon
"No no, YOU must go into the living world. Remember, I cannot do that. I can only appear in the living world to the people I am connected to. Other than that, I can only exist as Shina's Zanpakuto on that side. However, as you are tied to me, I will remain in constant communication, so do not fret. Now then, I advise you hurry - depending on Jo's next words, she may seal her fate against Byakuya should you not intervene." Kagetsuki informed him, opening a view-point to where Jo could be seen surrounded by Byakuya's Bankai. "Oh, and don't worry about Dura. His assassin will never reach you, and now that you're free, he can only confront you directly, and cannot manipulate you. If he DOES confront you, come back here, and we'll talk about it. I doubt he will, though. He refrains from getting firectly involved unless he absolutely has to. If you do end up having to fight him, just hold your own until you can get away. As a Spirit now, you should be on almost equal footing with him."
Guest
Mateo nodded as he quickly faded. The spirit reappeared in the Seireitei, floating slightly above where he went into a coma. //It feels..... a bit weird being a spirit, after being a Hollow for such a long time it's no suprise.// He smiled softly, it felt nice to be alive once again but remembered that he needed to get to Jo before Byakuya went berserk. With a few short sonidos Mateo appeared above Byakuya and Jo, supressing his Reiatsu so he wouldn't be noticed. //Let's see, if he makes a move or notices me I'll take action but if he doesn't attempt to strike Jo he shouldn't be a problem.// The spirit quietly laughed to himself, it seemed weird that he was actually able to make his own decisions for the first time in a month. He quietly calmed himself however, preparing his bow so he would be able to take care of the Captain before he could do any major damage.
Dad
Zaraki was bombarded, but he had been swamped like this before. Of course, it wasn't much he couldn't handle. The initial explosion did some damage, and Zaraki was burned, but again, it was nothing he couldn't handle. Wiping the soot from his face, he laughed. "Whoo! Not bad Gran Bel! I'm actually enjoying myself!" Zaraki said proudly. An electric charge of reiatsu ran through his sword, as Zaraki tossed it into the air, just above his head. Zaraki jumped backwards, and just before the hilt of his blade could touch the ground, he sent a heavy foot into it, sending the reiatsu extended blade forward at great speeds. But the blade would not be alone. Dashing forwards, Zaraki swept Gran Bel with a swing of his right leg, and catching him in the air with a downwards punch from hell. But the blade would not come in contact with Gran Bel. Instead, it would slice through the head of the vulnerable Eric. Dura watched carefully as Mateo became a Spiritual being. He was not pleased. "Damn it all!" he screamed through the valleys of Hell. Just as he was preparing to leave to take care of these matters himself, Shiro was returning, a failed look, and a new ally at his side. Zangetsu stepped forwards, fearing for Shiro's 'life'. "Dura. You will not interfere in the Real World again. Or so help me, I will bind your putrid body to the mightiest chains, and leave you to burn in the bottom of the fiery pits of Hades." Zangetsu turned to leave, when a kick landed in his neck, knocking him down; a thud beside him was Shiro's body, unconscious. "You dare threaten me in my own home? Foolish spirit. There is only one being who can defeat me, and he is trapped HERE! What could you possibly do? Zangetsu got up slowly, as another of his great allies appeared. "We shall free him," he said standing up. "Ryuujin Jakka, and I will release that man. Then, all of this place shall crumble with your dea--Grah!" Zangetsu was suspended in the air, but luckily Ryuujin stepped in to save him; all in vain. Dura kicked Ryuujin to the side, as he continued to hold Zangetsu in the air. Crushing his wind pipe, Dura drew his Zanpaktou. The caverns rattled madly, the center volcano erupting, and Ryuujin could do nothing but watch in horror, barely able to hold his head. "You talk too much, Zangetsu." Dura gave a mighty invisible slice, opening Zangetsu's chest, revealing his soul core. Dura cackled, slowly reaching for Zangetu's core. Yoruichi glanced backwards Mileya. "Damn. I didn't think the fight would kick up so quickly." She gave a grin as she watched the boomerang circle Mileya. Elena too joined in the smile. Yoruichi's eyes were off of her opponent for too long. Pinning her to the ground, Elena reached to stab Yoruichi in the back, but she was too slow. Yoruichi delivered an elbow to Elena's stomach, backing her away. "Come on, you have to faster than that. Tell ya what, I can kill you first, and then, I'll take care of your Fraccion friend here nice and easy. What say you?" Yoruichi laughed, bobbing and weaving, dodging Elena's normally extremely accurate swings. But only for a brief moment. Elena slashed Yoruichi's stomach, exposing the wounds from Ichigo's assault. "Hmm." she thought aloud. "Now I know your weak spot, Yoruichi. And with Mileya behind me, you don't have a chance!"
Signosis
Jo listened with the utmost attention she had ever given anybody, which was possibly new, but upon Kuchiki's words, she looked anguished.Tears leaked out from the corners of her eyes as she stared at him. "Put down your sword now, and I may be willing to spare you my judgment; continue to stand against me, standing for our enemy, and I will cut you down without question. Make your decision, Espada." Oh so badly she wanted to scream for joy, 'YOU HAVE A HEART!' -- but no. Jo resisted the urge, only smiling at him serenely. Her eyes looked to the swords around her, her eyes slightly glazed over. 'Give up? Or fight for Kiron?' Jo thought. She never really like taking orders. Didn't like being a...dog for someone else. Granted, Mateo was a different story...but there was that link between him. She wasn't even positive she loved him. The reason she was working under the Soul Society and Gotei was that she wanted to protect, to become strong for those she loved. "What happened to me?" Jo asked aloud, tears brimming again. "When did I...? Dammit, I broke my own damn promise." Jo grinded her teeth, looking to the ground. "It's selfish of me, I know, but I want to live." She looked up to Byakuya, fear in her eyes. "I'm not one to die for somebody else's cause. But these Espada... they hurt you, my friends." She touched the branded two upon her cheek. "I didn't ask for this...and yet I did. Greed consumed me...," Jo sheathed Okibi Kokutan and kneeled before him. "Forgive me, Byakuya Kuchiki." Jo looked up at him, her eyes clear from tears. Inside her, something screamed. "But, it is your choice." Jo said, and lowered her head again.
Dad
"It's true Kaien, blind men shouldn't wield swords. But being blind is no excuse for them to swing wildly at that which they cannot understand." Dragon's Flare brightened a hole for Amago, who dashed through it and landed safely on the ground below. He had used a lot of his reiatsu, but desperate times called for desperate measures. "His Zanpaktou reminds me of Tousen's," Amago said to himself. "Which means it has two greater weaknesses compared to his, and now I know whe and where to strike."
Guest
"So I guess that means your turning on me too, huh Jo?" Mateo sat floating above them sighing. He had become a spirit to gain another life to protect her with while she just went and said that she regreted what she had become. //She probably wishes that I never made her become a Hollow in the first place then, it also means that Byakuya will probably attack me even though I'm no longer a Arrancar.//
Zexaeon
As Dura's hand reached for the Soul Core of Zangetsu, prepared to take it for himself, his wrist was suddenly frozen over, his feet pinned to the ground. Quick as a flash, Zangetsu was pulled from Dura's grasp, being carried by a goofy-looking man with a billowing robe, and a gaudy boned necklace. "Ah, Zangetsu. Looks like you had gotten into some trouble." Ryujin sighed in relief. Beside, a pompous-looking woman in a white Kimono stood, eyes closed. "To think I entered such a rotten, hot place for this. You'd better be grateful, Zangetsu." The black-robed man grinned. "Katen Kyokotsu. Sode No Shirayuki. My apologies...I was careless." "It matters not." Ryujin's gruff voice answered, stepping forward. "Because now that you are out of Harm's Way, I can go all out." he barked, flames erupting all around his body. "I wonder Dura, which is hotter. The flames of hell, or my flames of abolishment?""Oh, dear brother," Kagetsuki's mystical voice drifted into the caverns, as she made her appearance and knelt beside Zangetsu, still being held by Kyokotsu. "Try not to worry me like that again? You're fortunate out friends are so speedy." Shirayuki huffed in all her white-clad beauty. "Well, I've gone and frozen him in place. What now?" Ryujin sent his hateful glare at Dura, who was quickly breaking free of the ice. "Starting a fight with him right now is not quite wise. Still, I'd be happy to leave him with a few burns before we take our leave." Kyokotus shrugged, grinning. "Do it then. I'll take this old coot back with me." he announced, carrying Zangetsu off. "How ungainly," Shirayuki remarked. "He's far older."
harhar
Kaien's eye's grew wide. "I'm surprised, to be honest, I thought you'd be dead by now." Kaien took his stance. "It's a shame you wont be able to see my smile before you die." Kaien broke his stance, eye's narrowed, head tilted up, and charged at Amago. Their swords clashed and sparks flew. "Odd, I haven't got the slightest clue as to how you saw that attack coming?" Kaien pulled back. He knew it was time to end this. He gently positioned his Zanpaktou in between his two hands." I cant remember what my King called this but it's supposed to make your swing more effective. Well, that or it makes me look like an idiot. Let's hope for the former, shall we?" Kaien gripped tightly to his Zanpaktou and charged at Amago once more.
Signosis
"So I guess that means your turning on me, too, huh Jo?" Jo looked around herself quickly blinking. Mateo's voice.... "I'm not turning on you, Mateo. I just never asked for this." Jo answered, glaring at the form of her 'Master', only he was...different. "But, you were the only one I could turn to. The other's wouldn't accept me after I turned into a Hollow...till Shiro spoke of that machine -- unfortunately and fortunately, you found me. I feel like two different people, Mateo. And I don't know what to do...." Jo looked down at the ground, sighing, still waiting for Byakuya's answer.
Dad
"You underestimate me old man." Dura stared at the ice on his wrists, shattering it. "Ryujin, do not forget where it is you come from. Your flames are not everlasting old man. While those of my kingdom are. And it is because of the sealed one that I may always reign supreme." The bowels of hell erupted as he stepped forward, pouring down his immense reiatsu upon Ryujin, who, being the next superior to Dura, was actually able to stand. "Draw your blade old man. For the last time." Ryujin sighed, confirming the battle. "Let it begin." Parrying Kaien, Amago watched the reckless Arrancar charge forward, completely ignoring Ryuu. Wrapping itself around Kaien, it tossed him, spinning, into the ground. "I've had about enough of your smug attitude, Kaien. No longer will I spare you the satisfaction of breathing." Amago whipped Ryuu back to his side, and glared into Kaien's eyes. Ryuu opened it's powerful jaws, and what Kaien saw filled him with horror. "Dragon's Flare." harhar
Kaien was horrified, he couldn't believe what he was witnessing. "sheet, I failed," Kaien sadly stated as his sword dropped from his hands. He looked around the battlefield. He didn't want his final sight to view Amago, for that would be hell. Kaien looked up to the sky and a whispered his final words, "King Kiron, please forgive me." Kaien closed his eyes and took in a fresh breath of air. He hadn't expected to die so early, but he knew he had weakened him enough for one of the others to come by and finish him. Dad
Staring into his victim's eyes, a spark caught Amago. "You lived to serve faithfully. I pray you return in another life, serving under that which is righteous." Ryuu's eyes flashed, as did it's mouth. The white hot light seared Kaien's skin, despite him being an Arrancar, tearing it from the bone. The flash caught Kiron's eye, and he knew this was not Kaien's doing. "Kaien!" he roared with fury. Kiron used his amazing speed to catch the ending of the battle between Kaien and Amago. He was furious, but Captain Amago was victorious. "You have one Captain," he said in a monotone. "However, your deed will not go unpunished." Kiron gave a mighty yell for Alexander.
Guest
"If they were telling the truth about bringing you back to a Shinigami, why didn't they do it before I came to find and help you? They only want you back as a Captain because your nothing but a tool to them!" Mateo wasn't exactly sure if what he was saying was true or not but he wasn't exactly in the best of moods. "Also what about the friends you made here, you learned first hand that almost every hollow is just misunderstood and their are more people then just me who would be upset if you leaved." The Spirit drew his bow and pointed it towards Byakuya, it was all the Captain's fault that Jo would think of leaving them. Besides it seemed like Byakuya just wanted to use Jo's new powers to his advantage, he didn't care about her at all. It was easy to tell that Mateo was completely pissed but the question was how pissed?
