Jo slightly glared at them, seeing that they weren't paying her any attention, but looked quickly back up at her Master and the Arranacar they named Alexander. She then looked to their new King, blinking as she did so; but she turned her odd eyes away from him also, folding her arms.

'What to do, what to do...,' Jo thought, with a small sigh.

The violet cero rammed itself against Mateo, causing the air around him to explode into flames. //**** even with hyper armor that hurt! Theres still one hit left and this sheet's gonna hurt.// "Is that all you have? I thought the Primera Espada would have more strength then that." It wasn't hard to tell that the Segunda Espada was bluffing but at this point and knew that the next blast could actually shatter his hyper armor completely instead of just piercing it.

"Alexander!" Megan cried out in disdain. "If you want to kill him, you could make it a little more obvious! Don't pretend to test him when you're firing something like THAt at him!"

Alexander sighed. "Megan, I am not willing to let someone of inappropriate level remain among us. If he hold sthe rank of Segunda, he should be able to handle this. If he can't, he should either be demoted or die."

She looked like she was about to say more, but Lucas merely shook his head at her. it was a lost cause. Either Mateo would survive, or he would die. If he tried to run now, Alexander would chase him to no end.

Mileya bowed briefly to the King as he had appeared, answering his quary. "As he just stated, your majesty, I believe he hopes to test the Segunda. He was upset that Mateo had failed to kill the Shinigami he battled with." she explained nervously.

Out of the corner of her eye, she saw Jo, and immediately took notice, stepping over to her and looking upon her curiously. "And who are you?" she asked.

Behind Jo, Gran was already there. "She's a servant to Mateo. I met her in the Living World. Nice to meet you again." he said, holding out a hand to her large, hollowfied one.

Alexander grinned. "Here comes Cero number three."

And then he did what no one had expected - they were expecting a powerful burst. They weren't expecting...

"Gran Rey Cero."

The Violet energy in his hand spiked off, rotating hugely, and fired in a wave that could eradicate city blocks with ease. The ari seemed to be on fire with the launch, The Espada all releasing their reiatsu in an attempt to remain unburned.

Mateo closed his eyes, preparing for the blow as a purple reitsu started to gather at his feet. The reitsu quickly climbed up his body covering it like a small veil. //What's going on now!?// The espada was confused seeing since he didn't know if this was one of his Arrancar abilities or not. As the Gran Rey Cero connected with the purple reitsu the Cero started to slowly crack the veil it had created around Mateo, causing it to slowly damage the Segunda Espada. After a few minutes of the veil buffering off Cero it completely disappeared, allowing Alexander's blast to finish its attack but at a weaker tone. //Was.... that hyper armor and what was up with the purple reitsu?// Either way it didn't really matter since the blast still hurt like a jabroni, leaving a bunch of cuts, burned clothing and wounds over Mateo's body along with the rest of the Espada's reitsu to be used up. "So you were trying to kill me with that!"

OOC: Hmmm I wonder if anyone is going to guess why the f purple reitsu appeared and wtf its requirements are XD.

Alexander was smiling. "Decent work, I suppose."

Lucas, Megan, and Mileya were all quick to rush to Mateo's body, inspecting him for wounds (of which he had quite a lot of).

"Damn it Alexander!" Megan cried, glaring at him. Alexander merely shrugged.

The Primera esada stuffed his hands in his pockets, appraoching his king. "Lord Kiron, it seems that, miraculous as it is, our new Segunda survived. Well, I'm done with him in that case. I won't interfere with him anymore."

Lucas grunted. With Mileya on Mateo's other side, he hoisted the fallen Arrancar up. "Come on. We'll get you to the Sick Bay."

Jo was watching her Master with a dazed look, until another Arranacar took notice of her. She snaped out of her gaze and looked at her with orange and scarlet slited eyes.

"And who are you?"

She opened her mouth to talk, but someone beat her to it.

"She's a servant to Mateo. I met her in the Living World. Nice to meet you again."

"Nice to meet you again, also," She shook his hand gently, smiling. "Nn, just call me Jo. I dunno if he'd like it if you called me his servant...."

Jo shrugged and looked back at her Master, who had just gotten blasted with Alexander's Gran Rey Cero. She watched as the others ran to him to see how he was, and she slowly slithered towards them, wondering if she was going to get yelled at for coming. Jo picked up her wounded Master, cradeling him in her arms.

"It's okay, I've got him. Lead the way, please." Jo stated politely, staring down at her Master worryingly.

"Don't worry about me...... I'll be able to walk.." The Segunda Espada gave out a fake smirk but really he didn't want to show his weakness. Mateo turned his face to Jo as he gave her a smile, "Thanks for coming Jo, I know you don't like seeing me like this." The arrancar got up from her arms resisting the urge to show that he was in pain. //Even with this new power it isn't enough if Alexander can just wreck me on whim..... The only thing that saved me was that purple reitsu and I don't even know how that happened!//

Kiron found himself entertained, and bored instantly. "That could have gone better, Alexander," he said laughing. It was quite the display, and Kiron wasn't surprised that Mateo was half-dead. "No matter, he'll be up and running again by the time the Shinigami return."

Eric approached Kiron silently. "Sire, what now? We've scared off the Shinigami for one month's time, and we've really nothing to do." He shrugged, wrapping his arms in a circle around his waist, scratching his leg. "We wait," Kiron said watching the strange movement of the Espada.

Zaraki's argument with Yoruichi continued. All of this talk of Shikai was beginning to bore him, but he meant every word he said.

Meanwhile, Amago rested inside with Shiro, watching Urahara sleep. "Will he be okay?" Amago asked aloud. Shiro nodded. "Hopefully." He stared out the window at his arguing parents. "Shikai. Yeah right. He can just barely use Kidou, and he expects to learn Shikai? There's no way in h--" Amago punched Shiro in the arm.

"Don't doubt your father," he said. "The guy has pulled many a trick out of his sleeves since before you were born. He can accomplish it; Shikai." Shiro nodded punching Amago in the chest. "Now help me to get this damned eye of mine under control." They strolled quietly to the basement, while Orihime tended to Urahara.

Curo takes control of Roscuro and walks towards Zaraki "Excuse me, me and Ros take turns controling this body. The person who doesn't have the body shift stays in the world of our Zanpakuto's spirit. Since you have to go to that world to learn the Zanpakuto's name I may be able to help you learn Shikai."

Zaraki turned to face Curo. "Oh really?" Zaraki was interested. . . highly. "Alright then you two, what's say we get started. We only have a month, so I wanna get started right away." He shook their hand in agreement.

ooc: Wait, how do you get to the spirit world? Can I just kiddo you their or make you go through a trial that exhausts you or what?

Sorry that I don't know, I just realized that the Roscuro twins would be people who know who to get to the Zanpakuto world.

Shina sat slumped against the wall, face downcast.

Things were just getting more depressing by the moment. Ichigo, Urahara, Jo, let alone all the other Shinigami that had died before now. And now even their invasion had failed. She couldn't help but feel like the time of the shinigami was over.

A sshe lay with her head in her arms, she bega to drift off to sleep.

-

A man was lying in a bed. A man was lying in a bed, and a woman was standing next to him. Except the woman was also snake. It was strange. She looked just like a giant serpent. But at the same exact time, she looked like a human woman. But the eyes were a total tipoff.

"Jo?" Shina asked, stepping forward. Except Jo couldn't hear her. Shina saw that Jo was in black and white - she was conscious. Her eyes alert. But her unconscious master....he was in color. And what's more, Shina could see a thread tied around him and Jo.

Did they connect by association? Putting two and two together, Shina figured that she couldn't talk to Jo - not unless Jo was also asleep (because clearly, Shina had to be asleep right now...right?). And if Jo's connection to the man had also tied Shina to him, could she speak with him when he was alseep?

Shina hesitantly stepped up to the bedside. It was only now that she could see other Arrancar in the room - but they were all black and white. She and the bedridden one were the only two people in color.

"Hello? Can you hear me?" she asked the sleeping man. She noticed that her hands were transparent - it was like she was a ghost right now. The man still seemed solid, though. Was she projecting out of her body? Was that it?

If that was the case, then the man wouldn't be able to hear her, even if he WAS unconscious, unless he too projecte dout of his body. Well, I'll just have to make him.

Experimentally, she reached forward - expectedly, her hand moved right through his body. But it touched something inside. She gave an experimental pull, and felt a stirring.

She began to pull back as she noticed a transparent outline surrounding the man's body. "Hello?" she tried again. "Can you hear me?"

Maybe she could see him because Jo was connected to him, but she didn't know if the two could communicate. It was worth a chance.

Mateo laided on a medical bed in the sick bay, reitsu entering his body slowly. "Lucas...... how many things as a Arrancar can I learn that I already don't know." The Espada's eyes looked emotionless as he felt nothing but hate for his weakness.

"H..llo? C..ou...he...me.....?"

Yet unclear the words rang through Mateo's ears causing him to raise a finger to where it was coming from. "Do you guys hear that?"

Lucas sat quietly nearby. For whatever reason, Mateo's brief period as his Fraccion had spurred some mild attachment to the arrancar. Mateo seemed to be half conscious, half unconscious, and had absently asked what more he could learn as an arrancar.

Lucas mumbled. "Your cero needs strengthening...and you need to learn the Gran Rey technique. Your Sonido could use work. And you need to rain with your sword - sorry, but against opponents like Alexander, your snakes aren't enough. I'm the best swordsman among the Espada...I could teach you."

Mateo then seemed to ask if he could hear something. Lucas looked quizzical. "All I hear is you and Jo."

"Maybe it's just my imagination..... It should take me a few hours to heal up so in a day or so do you want to start training?" The Segunda Espada let his hand drop back down to his side, he wasn't really concerned about the voice her heard. All that rang through his head was that he needed to get stronger faster, slowly turning his head to Jo. "Do you want me to get a meeting with King Kiron set up for you Jo? He could give you the Arrancar test then after I'm done training with Lucas I can train you."

"Draw your Zanpaktou Shiro," Amago called. Shiro nodded, bringing his Zanpaktou from it's custom blue sheath. "Right then," Shiro answered. "Should I release now or--" Amago struck without warning, Shiro barely catching the timing for a parry.

"Whoa! Hang on a sec-- gah!" He slid backwards as Amago landed a kick to his stomach. Amago sighed. "You have to be ready for your opponent at a moment's notice. Your shard is not preventing you from developing your powers," he said pacing around Shiro.

"But you Shiro, are hindering it!" He swept at Shiro's feet, and missed as Shiro jumped and swung at Amago's head with a right spin-kick. Amago caught Shiro's kick with his wrist, bracing the blow and pushing him away. "And as you can see, during battle, when you truly focus, you can begin to remove your shard, piece by piece," Amago said pointing to Shiro's feey.

Shiro felt as though he was in a gaze. One minute he was on the ground, the next thing he knew, his kick was parried by Amago. On the ground under him, a blue glass shard lie silently, quaking and vibrating wildly. "Wha-what?" Blood trickled down Shiro's face from his left eye, and he absorbed it without hesitation.

Amago smiled. "Slowly, you are beginning to lose the shard. And while you lose it, as you grow closer to it's end, you will feel weaker. But Shiro," he said disappearing. "Only when you have to lose it all will you unlock your true potential!" Amago soared high above Shiro, whipping his Zanpaktou about.

"Roar, Ryuu!" His average state Zanpaktou began to grow, and grow, until it was approximately 8 feet in length, covered with a thick green hide, snorting and roaring with pride. "Now Shiro," he said as the dragon coiled around him. "Show me your strength."

Outside the Urahara Shop, Zaraki was shaking with excitement. "I suppose Yoruichi can show us how to get there eh?" He said turning to his loved one. She nodded and smiled.

"To get to the Spirit World," she began, "You must first have a strong connection with your Zanpaktou. That is the first step." Zaraki held his nameless Zanpaktou up high. "Hmm. And how do I now when my connection is strong enough?" he asked. Yoruichi answered with a mild tone, "Simple Kenny. You'll be dragged away by it's Spiritual Strength. It will begin to show you the way to the Spirit World.

And if you want your connection to grow stronger, you must first plead with your Zanpaktou to lend you it's strength in battle, and in all that you do." Yoruichi stared in wonder as Zaraki held his Zanpaktou up high. The world around him began to spin with many colors and distortions.

"Whoa. What's going on here?" he asked dizzily. Yoruichi was shocked. Zaraki's body began to. . . disappear. "Kenny? What's happening to you?" Zaraki could not identify any of the voices around him, but a dark chuckle came from behind him, as a fiery cave formed around him.

"Welcome, Zaraki Kenpachi," said the voice. "This is the beginning. And this is the end." Zaraki chuckled. "I hope you're not meaning to scare me," he said aloud. "'Cause it's not working." A violent wave of reiatsu crashed down upon his back, whirling him into a wall.

The voice laughed still. "When you can defeat me Zaraki Kenpachi, then you will understand." Zaraki unhinged himself and his Zanpaktou, cracking his neck. "Okay then," he said increasing his reiatsu emission. "Bring it."

Jo stood beside her Master's bed, her arms folded and her tail coiled.

"Do you guys hear that?"

Jo blinked, looking at her Master.

"Uuuh, no..?" Jo answered, tilting her head at him.

"Do you want me to get a meeting with King Kiron set up for you Jo? He could give you the Arrancar test. Then after I'm done training with Lucas, I can train you."

Jo's face glowed with excitement, her hands on the bed as she leaned towards him eagerly.

"Really, you would?! I would love that!" Jo said. She'd to anything to get out of this cumbersome, large body.

"I sense I'm needed," Kiron said aloud to himself. he closed eyes briefly, and when he opened them, he found himself at the Sick Bay. Mateo was lying on a bed, beat-up, bruised, and battered.

"Hmm. Perhpas Dura was right," he thought to himself. He turned to see a large, similar snake-like Hollow beside him. "This must be the one," he thought. And only steps away, Lucas sat and waited, watching his troubled Segunda Espada suffer.

"I'm unimpressed," he said looking at Mateo. "At first, it seemed you held potential, but now, it seems you can't handle your own strength." Kiron seemed. . . not angry, but disappointed. He stood quietly in the Sick Bay. He wasn't worried about Seireitei. The Espada could handle it.

But Mateo. Dura had once foretold, before giving rise to Kiron, that Mateo (Hebi at the time) would pose the--"No. I highly doubt it," he thought to himself. "And if the boy gets out of hand, I'll kill him myself."

"An arrancar...?" Shina thought aloud. Jo wanted to be one? Well, that didn't mean anythig! It's not like it meant Jo would turn against her...Jo probably just wanted to be more powerul and human-like when she returned to the Shinigami!

Lucas smiled. "Jo, if you're made into an arrancar, you could be Mateo's fraccion."

Shina turned to the black and white Arrancar, hearing what he had said. "If she becomes a fraccion...that would mean she really IS against us...." Shina muttered.

Another person entered then - this one semmed....frightenig. She didn't like him immediately. He seemed to be unimpressed with something based on his words.

Mateo still seemed to be drifting in and out of consciousness, as he kept gaining and losing color in Shina's eyes. But she didn't care. She wanted to talk to Jo.

//I am a disappointment..... At least I could help Jo out before I pass out...// "Lord Kiron.... could you do me a favor even though I let you down? I want you to give Jo over there the Arrancar test, I believe that she should be able to handle it.// Mateo's eyes started to shut after finishing his question, blurring out all around him. //Why.....did he even bother with a weakling like me.// With in seconds the Espada had passed out, looking as if he was going to be out for a day at the least.....

Shina gasped as Mateo suddenly and abruptly gained full color. He must have been completely unconscious.

She wasn't entirely sure why....but she felt like she wanted to talk to him. Even if he WAS the enemy. "...hello?" she tried again, hesitantly.

"Where the **** am I? I was in the Sick Bay not to long ago...." Mateo had appeared in a completely black room as soon as his eyes had shut, whether it had been him dying once again or a dream it seemed as if the darkness went on forever.

"Hello?"

The voice from earlier had rung clear through the darkness as the Espada started to spin around, trying to find the source. "Hello? Whose's there?"

Jo thought of Ichigo the moment the word Arranacar and her were mentioned, thinking back to his famous Hollow mask.

She could become stronger....

To protect...everyone....

Jo would go any length in order to do that.

"Jo, if you're made into an arrancar, you could be Mateo's fraccion."

Jo stared at him, startled slightly. She tilted her head, then jumped slightly when her Master addressed their new King. Jo instantly bowed at the waist to him.

"Lord Kiron.... could you do me a favor, even though I let you down? I want you to give Jo over there the Arrancar test. I believe that she should be able to handle it."

Jo stared at her Master as he closed his eyes, surprised. Even though, deep down inside, she really did care for him, and he for her. Although, for her....

She reached over and stroked his cheek gently.

"Sleep peacefully, Mateo." Jo said softly.

"Hello...Mateo. That is your name, isn't it?" Shina asked. Above the sleeping arrancar's body, she could see a full-color projection of him, fully awake, spinning around wildly. It was as though he couldn't see.

"Can't you see me?" she asked curiously. She could see just fine. But then, maybe it was better if he couldn't see. Maybe it was better he didn't realize he was talking to a Shinigami in this dream world.

"How is Jo?" she decided to ask.

"I'm guessing your a Shinigami since your asking, most hollows would know." Matto sighed, he knew that the Shinigami could kill him easy since his body is pretty much shot for the time being and for the fact that he couldn't see her. "She is doing fine, if you can hear the conversations going on then you can probably tell that she is about to take the test to become a Arrancar. The one thing that interests me is that you, a Shinigami, actually cares about her now that shes one of us." The Espada took a seat in the darkness and started to meditate, if the Shinigami was planning on killing him it would be a good idea to actually try to build up some defence against her tactics.
