Hello and, welcome to my tutorial on how to inport things into GIMP.

Well first off go to My Documents, now make a new folder name it what

you please (I recomend GIMP Materials). Now when ever you find

somthing like a brush, or fonts, or patterns save it inside there. Its

usualy a Compressed folder so just unzip it inside GIMP Materials (Or

whatever you call it) then delete the compressed folder and inside the

new folder that you unziped there will be the thing or things you

downloaded (They must be Gimp materials) and copy them then

whatever you downloaded (lets say a brush) go to GIMP (I have 2.4)

whatever version you have and look for the brush folder in there (or

whatever you have) and paste the brushes inside there (Note GIMP has

to restart every time you put somthing in there). Now your done enjoy!

:)

Nice tutorial but

1. This should be moved I think. Its Graphic Design Tutorials so shouldn't it have pictures or is it right? I'm not sure if its meant to be to DO with graphic design, or it has to have Graphic Design IN it. Me not sure.

2.They don't have to be gimp stuff, like gimp brushes, or gimp gradients. You can get like 2 or more paintbrushes in one file which should have .abr at the end of them. And GIMP can handle different files that can have 2 or more things inside it, like filters, or gradients, in just one file, not loads.

Apart from that, I think this tutorial will really help the Gimp Noobs out there.

Keep it up! ;)
