Anime (in no specific order): Welcome to the NHK - A surprisingly deep story about the "Hikkikomori" phenomenon. Great pictures, great dialog, distinct characters with flaws (which are easily likeable because of those flaws), a good soundtrack and a bit of love and romance. One of my all time favourites. Ergo Proxy - Psychological Thriller (you can call it that) about a postapocalyptic utopia. A great, disturbing story with several dozen twists and turns, unusual characters and an incredible artstyle and soundtrack. Actually something for the mature audience, because it compels you to actually think about it. What's reality, what's not? And what's that characters motive? Really intense. Read or Die - Every story about books is instant win, but this one actually pairs it with creative action, nice pictures and loveable characters. A bit Comedy, a bit SciFi and Mystery and some Action as well, you get everything from this, which made it a must watch for me. Lucky Star/K-On! - For the comedic section. You want something to just lie back, laugh and enjoy? Lucky Star and K-On! are for you. Both shows are great and easily the best Slice of Life/Comedy animes out there. GX(not 5Ds)Sailor Moon (even though my friend says it's not anime - yeah okay)Avatar the Last Airbender (not really anime, but probably the closest any American is gonna get to making a good one) I watched Ranma 1/2 for a little bit, but it got way too weird way too fast.
