Otaku-sama
I thought that worshipping an anime was solely for the Haruhists, but I was wrong. Totally. F*cking. Wrong. She took Narutardism to freaking whole new level of OHSH*TWTFBOOM. As for the topic, I bet that Naruto will win due to a totally uncalled for deus ex machina from the UltraGod or some bullsh*t like that and give him some super ninja power that allows him to do some god mod move that will somehow kill Alucard with a f*cking laser. Oh wait. That's more like Ichigo. Naruto would probably get his guts ripped out while Sasuke is shivering in the corner asking for the sweet relief of death while cutting himself. But it won't work, because he's now a vampire. And Sakura would just stand around with a kunai and think "OMGWTFDOIDOIDON'TKNOWWHATTODOIGUESSI'LLJUSTSTANDHEREFORANOTHERFIFTEENEPISODESBEFOREIGETBEATENUPWITHOUTASTRUGGLELOLISTHATACAT?" Sorry. I'm in a strange state of mind again.
Tentacruel
I can understand if you don't like Naruto, but to hate it just because of fans seems a little much. No offense, but to bash it like that is really just lowering yourself to the level of Narutards. :( Anywayz, I think I'm gonna join an anime club where they like anime in general, not just specific ones. >.>
Otaku-sama
I guess you didn't read the second half of my rant. I gave reasons why the content of Naruto did not meet my high standards of what a good anime is. Look, let me be honest. I admit, we are very hard on Naruto, but not just because of the people who believe that it is the best, but that our taste in anime requires a more refined plot and deeper characters. I put restrictions on the club not only just to keep out Narutards, but to prevent any non tard fans of Naruto from being completely left out and alienated by the rest of the club's general consensus of Naruto being too simple. If you are one of the non tard fans, I can understand why you wouldn't want to join, but this club is not based on hating Naruto, but sharing animes aside from the animes that are already well known to the Western world. I didn't want the club to be filled with a bunch of people saying a thousand different variations of "OMG Naruto is the best anime ever!". I wanted to find others who watch good animes and share out opinions about them. I wouldn't be able to do that if there were too many Naruto fans, right? Anyways, good luck on finding a club that fits your requirements of what you expect from a club. Feel free to drop by anytime should you change your mind. Great Unclean One: VK
Anyhow, which do you think is a more expensive hobby/lifestyle, anime figure collecting or Warhammer 40k?
Shradow
Depends. If you buy lots of figures like this ($230), then probably anime figure collecting. I don't know who much Warhammer costs.
Great Unclean One: VK
Rule book: $20 Race rule book: $20 1 squad of units: $30 1 Leader unit: $30 1 Ultra Unit: $40-50 1 Super Unit: $50-100 Mind you also need to buy upgrades and teh such. To play you require dice, both rule books, and at least 1 Leader units and 2 squads of different types of units. Necrons are cheap and good. They are awesome far range, suck at close range, good health. (Undead space Terminators) Tyranids cost more but swarm. They are good far and close range but usually die quickly. (Generic mindless alien swarm led by a hivemind) Space Marines are awesome far range but cost alot. (Savoirs of humanity) Same with Chaos Space Marines but they cost more but are better at melee. (Space Marines gone wild) Tau cost somewhat alot and are mechas thus pwn in far range but will auto-die at melee combat. (Created to attract anime fans) Demons are random and cost alot. (For veteraned Warhammer players who want to play both games) Orks are awesome close range and swarm but cost is reasonable. (People who believe red makes things go faster) Imperial guard are reasonable and are great far range. (Regular soldiers that are killed in the billions each day) Eldar are just awesome close range but are pretty hard to use. (Space elves) Dark Eldar are even harder but pro. (Space elves that love guro) Sisters of Battle are awesome both close and far. (Space nuns equipped with planet destroying weapons, flamethrowers, and are hot)
DL
...Meh, Hellsing never drew me in. I read 6 volumes, but, for some reason, I didn't really like it. It was okay, just not my thing.

Plaguespreader Zombie
Actually, I like a lot of Shonen things. But the creative ones. Just look at 20th Century Boys. Shonen But the complete opposite of Naruto. Just gonna drop this in right here. 20th Century Boys is NOT Shonen. It is Seinen, get your demographics right. Marisa Kirisame-ze
Had to work after school today for the Animanga Club. Tomorrow's our school's Homecoming Parade, Football Game, and Dance so it's a huuuuuge thing for all the clubs. Gotta' make silly anime posters~ 'twas fun. If you're in an Anime/Manga Club, what have you guys been doing lately~? And speaking of Twilight manga, did you know there's a High School Music and Clique Manga too. I swear, they're gonna start making every girly American pop-culture into a manga soon. And to the Naruto argument;I'm a fan of Naruto. Oh, let me be even more honest. Naruto was the first manga I've ever read (I even remember the volume: Volume 21). Naruto actually dragged me more into the anime/manga world, you know. I wouldn't be reading Death Note, Vampire Knight, D.Gray-man, Blackbird, MeruPuri, etc etc without it. And look at me; I'm into the fandom of anime/manga, both mainstream and non-mainstream. Although, I'm a fan of non-mainstream more, I still give props to Naruto for making me fall in love with manga. Come on, you aren't thinking from EVERYONE's point of view. Mainstream got me into non-mainstream. See that?
DL
@Mari-sempai - I think we all agree, Naruto either 1. Opens up people's views to other manga, to a world of better manga (best possible outcome)2. The person grows to believe Naruto >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> every other manga (my friend turned out like this, I am sorry to say >.> He doesn't even TRY manga I suggest to him that are better. Not even Bleach.) You and I were lucky to get option 1. But what about those who get option 2? THOSE are the fanboys. There's a thin fork in the road, but once the path is taken it's hard to turn back. @Gary - O.o I did NOT know that. Well, the more you know~
Otaku-sama
Of course mainstream brought us to offstream! It's impossible to have it otherwise. @ DL's list: There is one more option you missed 3. Viewer find another passion/becomes disillusioned with Naruto and stops watching anime all together. Here's a topic: Can you track the origins of your trip into Otakudom? I can. My first animes were Pokemon, DBZ, and Inuyasha before falling into a period where my love of video games overpowered anime and pushed it out of the picture. Then I played a DS game called 'Elite Beat Agents', which lead me to their Japanese counterparts 'Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan!' and 'Moero Nekketsu Rhythm Damashii: Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan 2', which in turn led me to 'Osu!', a computer version that allowed anyone to make beatmaps of any song they wished. This game led me to playing the theme song of Lucky Star. I didn't know what it was, and when I found out what it was, I decided to check it out. I loved Lucky Star, which led me to Azumanga Daioh and others. Shradow
I watched Toonami and Toonami Jetstream, but that never led me to anything else, so that's not really it. It all truly started with Fullmetal Alchemist. My friend had a shirt of Alphonse, I asked about it, she told me it was from FMA, so I watched it. That got me into anime full time. One the best day ever, I got into my all time favorite anime, TTGL, when I saw a sig at this site of Yoko, it had her name on the sig, I looked her up, found out about TTGL, and I watched it, and know it is the most epic thing ever. (Even though I looked it up in the first place cause Yoko is hot.) Also, EBA is awesome.
Blake
Me: the first Anime I ever watched... was Digimon. Next was Card Captors, and then Pokemon (Don't ask/Psycho dad). After that, I did not care about Anime beyond those and, of course, Yugioh, and Kirby (If that counts?). I did watch some on Adult Swim, and I thought Anime was... alright, but not great. Things like Big O, Cowboy Bebop (I liked this, but not much now...), and Lupin the 3rd(?). So, a few years pass, and I begin watching Adult swim more, and it stays the same.... until Naruto comes out. BAM! That's when I got in. Inuyasha, Transformers: Cybertron, FMA, etc. become my tastes. Then... I began watching Death Note, and that pushed me over the edge. I LOVED Anime at that point. It would be a while before I began to like Bleach/Other Anime (Bleach was in the Shinigami Arc, so I was too late to start, too early to see Ulqui... Although, I remember seeing a pale, semi-androgenous man in one of the Soul Society Arc episodes... Ulquiorra, I swear.), but I would eventually. My first Manga was Naruto, then Bleach, then Pokemon ( Voila.
Plaguespreader Zombie
DBZ / DB was the best thing when I was a kid, i liked battle anime and heard about Air Gear/Trigun from the forums, watched Trigun, then Air Gear, Air Gear made me love anime so much I became an otaku. Inb4 I'm the only one who dropped Naruto after the Chuunin Exams and that's not what lead me to anime.
DL
I began early on in life, watching Card Captor Sakura, Dragonball (gawd, I loved this) Dragon Quest (gawd, this is old...) and Knights of the Zodiac. A bit later on, Dragonball Z I didn't know they were anime, since I was too young and naive to know there was even a word like that. So I suppose what REALLY got me into anime was Naruto. I just kinda...watche dit from Toonami, liked it A LOT (I was a Narutard, I admit.) So I began watching it. I also began watching other shows, like Bleach and Inuyasha. But when I reached an end to the episodes of Naruto that were out(episode 30somethin in Shippuden) I turned to manga. And then I learned about onemanga. And I just got into all kinda of anime. Oh, but I suppose I must mention around the time I began watching Naruto, I played a certain game in Newgrounds which led me to Kanon. Now my favorite anime~ So I suppose Kanon got me into non-mainstream/slice of life stuff, and Naruto got me into mainstream/shonen stuff. I suppose that's why I like both. Marisa Kirisame-ze
Sailor Moon, guys. I LOVED it. That was the very first anime series I've ever watched and can still remember since the time I was 4 years old. Then, it was Spirited Away, when the preschool I went to at the time had to play it while I waited to be picked up. Four years old marked my journey into the love of anime/manga. But what really shot me deeper into it was Naruto and Pokemon (as well as some Yu-Gi-Oh). When I came into 6th grade, I met this guy who was a huge fan of Naruto. He kept up to date with the manga, and he always explained to me what was happening and things that I didn't understand for myself. Eventually, our conversations about Naruto brought me into a wider perspective as to what anime/manga really is. I picked up my first manga at the time, Volume 21 of Naruto, and fell in love with the Japanese comics altogether. As time went on, I frequently bought two-three manga every month, and filled up my shelves. Then went over to anime. I started with a few other series, but really fell in love with Shakugan no Shana. With that, I was addicted to watching anime for off and on periods of time that still go on now. Thank goodness for the anime and manga world. -Berserker-
The screen of my computer somewhat exploded. Heavy rain is not the friend of the ceiling, and once it gains the battle, the rain water starts attacking anything under the ceiling... So I had no computer the entire weekend and had to watch tv. I have this dvd of Midori no Hibi and watched it all without stopping... I liked it. The characters reminded me of Saikano. Are those series made by the same people? DL
IDk. But. O>O Also, wow, I never DID get to finishing Saikano....... @Marisa-sama - OHMAIGAWD! I forgot Sailor Moon, I used to love the Dark Thief (or whatever his name was) Topic: Anime/manga crushes. For me, honestly? Sakura, from Sakura Cardcaptors. When I was like 8. Moved on to basicaly every hot manga girl with cool hair/amazing eyes.
Blake
*Prepares to be shot* I like... Orihime and Hinata... *Shot repeatedly* And Aki *Shot* And, when I was younger, Misty. Most other Anime/Manga don't have females that are what I like...
