And ah, never heard of that anime before. But oooh, nice~ I'm taking Japanese too, but in the Spring semester of my year. That sounds fun, since they're all anime fans xD

But guys~

Guess who's my high school's vice-president of the Anime, Manga n' Stuff Club~ Hmm? Any guesses? Well, of course it's me~ 8D

LOL, and as vice-president, when the president graduates (she's a Senior I became friends with), I get to take it over as my own~

 

For Halloween, our whole club is going with a Pokemon theme, and President is being May, while I got nominated to be Ash xD

Also, Ultra Cute is pretty cool, really.

 

These two girl are looking for dates, but they never find them, cause they both are ALWAYS after the same guy. And one day, they find these two perfect guys.

 

 

BUT

 

They're both actually dating the girls as a game, and when the main heroine, Ami (one of the girls in question), finds out about that, she vows to make him fall in love with her, and in return, he'll apologize~

Sounds too lovey to be of my liking xD But I'll give it a try at some point~ Since it has video games in it.

Well, it's quite easy to learn about Japan.

 

Plus the history and travel channel ftw.

 

But anyways, currently gonna watch Jigoku Shoujo and finish up season 1 so I can get to the next season finally x3

Also, I learned tradition through school life manga, and through my grandma, who had Japanese friends, the Ishis. (I remember Yumi Ishi, and that's it >>)

So I looked at it for a bit, and will start reading in an hour or so, but Ultra Cute does have a nice drawing style. It's quite interesting.

 

Currently trying my bet at Ash's gloves though too.

Ok. Big part of the anime that reaches this part of the world is not translated directly from japanese, but from the english dub, so we have the edited episodes of things like Yugioh! and One Piece. But apparently older anime don't have the edits that I later discovered they had in the english dub. I knew they changed the name of Mister Satan, but I didn't knew Knights of the Zodiac had no blood and Sailor Moon had no transformation scenes. How can you survive with that kind of edits!?

 

Macross is an old anime. Robotech is an amalgam of Macross and other 2 series. When Macross went to occident, they wanted to show it five days per week, but it was too short for that so they added other 2 series after that and added some filler to interconect them. Things like changing where the events of the second series happens to fit the first series and mentioning X character of the second series is a descendant of X random character of the first series. The result is a cult series that is celebrating 25 years this year. So... Macross or Robotech?

Saikano; Sometimes it's even impossible to translate English from Japanese because in Japanese, they have more terms and words for particular things that we don't. So of course there will be edits in any dub or sub. You can't completely trust them, but then again, there's nothing we can do.

 

I don't really get your second paragraph, but Macross Frontier is good stuff.

And well, an abridged series? I don't think any of us would be able to pull that off with the type of mechanics we all have. But we could make a fanfic RP of Toradora or something. That'd be a good idea. And if we do, I get Taiga ;D

Well I can do basically like 90% of the voices, we just need someone to write lines (easy~) and someone to put the audio together with video~

Actually, we were planning a club card contest that I never got around to posting. An abridged series? Only problem is that I haven't watched Toradora before. If we are making an abridged series, it has to be about a shonen, because generally, shonens are funnier and easier to abridge.

Otaku-sama; We are xD We have Rocket Grunts mostly, and one from Team Galactic, plus other rival trainers. And we have some being Pokemon too, so we can battle with thee Pokemon and everything xD

 

And if we do an Abridged of Azumanga Daioh, I'm so being Osaka. I can pull off her voice so well, it's rather sad.

 

But guys, really. I don't think any of us could pull off a collab of an abridged series, just because we can't really get together to record all the voices in sync and whatever.

Psh, we can record them, post the files as MP3s, and someone can mix the sounds and join them, to make them flow smoothly.

 

But this all relies on us having someone good at that.

But seriously, I doubt we'd ever get to it. At least, we won't be able to at this state. Planning something like that out is a lot harder then you think. It takes a lot of talking with each other to get everything right on cue.

 

But anyways, do any of you know of a manga called Black Bird?
