Mangakas should be able to convey background scenery' date=' not just characters in panels. It's what differentiates a 'good' mangaka from a 'great' mangaka.

 

Some manga I've read even has JUST the scenery in some panels, so you understand the atmosphere of the page and what's around the characters.

And Kubo has done that on many occasions. When he was showing us Sereitei, Las Noches, Hueco Mundo and Karakura town.

 

Bleach would really suck if you didn't know how the surroundings looked like.

Correction' date=' leave out 1/4 of descriptions in the book. Which would be nice in certain books. It's so annoying reading a book that's 500 pages which mainly consists of descriptions about trees and other useless things. [b']I have never seen a book like that, in my entire life. You're obviously just grasping for a hold at this point. If not, tell me a single book that consists of mainly descriptions. Not narration - descriptions.[/b]

I don't have a short attention span but it's kind of annoying trying to find the Akuma when everything is mashed together. Some scenes in D.Gray-Man would be so much more understandable in my opinion if it would just skip the backgrounds from time to time. I have read around 100 chapters of D.Gray-man and have not once had trouble finding a single Akuma

 

Also, if the background doesn't have ANYTHING and I mean ANYTHING to do with the scene or future scenes when it's necessary to have seen the background before, then it's okay to skip it sometimes. SOMETIMES. Not every other panel.

So you know how I'm small and all? I was going through cosplay costume sizes and needed to measure myself for this chart. My hips, waist, and height reached on size "small", and then I needed to measure my bust.

 

...That size doesn't even make it on the chart. Not even on "x-small" ;__;

 

I really would make a horrible Yoko.

I overdid it with heavy weights instead of increasing a bit each time. Now my breast is as big as my sister's, and I cannot be shirtless because of the rips in the skin of my chest, shoulders and arms... that's a motivation to not try it again...
