Marisa Kirisame-ze
Thanks Voyeur, I suppose x3 Ito Noizi is the greatest artist eva~ She's the one who inspires me to draw. Woot. Kubo is pretty good and I like his style. But Hoshino is better. ;D
Spirit of DMG
So, Marisa, how hard was it to trace draw that? (PS: I've seen it on google. I think I have it on my computer...somewhere)
DL
Kubo draws nice, when he wants to. Still, nice drawing, Marisa-sama.

If it looks exactly like the image, then that mean that I'm close to perfect on Kubo's style. So when you tell me I traced it, let me remind you, I'll always hate you for assuming. DL
You forgot the image tags D: Also, I myself find drawing with a reference easier (and faster) than tracing.

Marisa Kirisame-ze
Skuldur; Yeah, you should ^^ The Bleach manga panels are really good to draw because Kubo always has his characters drawn quite largely in each panel. So if you're like me and you buy the manga, then try to enlarge the image by drawing it on paper, then it's much easier. Darklink; Oh, sorry D;I get heated when someone thinks I trace so I did that in a rush ^^;;

Look at Hoshino Katsura and Takeshi Obata's drawings. Only listed those two because they're from the same company and those are the only mangas from Shueisha I read. I could list tons more if needed. Kubo draws his characters to large in one aspect. And in most panels HE DOESN'T EVEN HAVE A FREAKING BACKGROUND.
Marisa Kirisame-ze
Don't forget Ito Noizi D;Her works are fabulous and beautiful; especially the art published in her art books that add color and depth. Another great artist, and sometimes I regret saying this, would be Matsuri Hino in her Vampire Knight manga volumes.
DL
@Udou-sama - We're talking about people, not backgrounds. His characters are very awesomely drawn. Takeshi Obata is a really good artist. As is Hiroyuki Takei. (Ultimo proved it)
-Berserker-
Well, I think everybody already knows I draw, in a lot of different styles:[spoiler=Portrait] and anime style too...[spoiler=With my photoshop skills to make it look better] But I haven't copied a pic in some time, so I cannot draw existing anime characters exactly the way they look without start practicing again... No. A mangaka's job is to convey a story through images. Leaving out entire backgrounds is stupid and idiotic, and wouldn't even be allowed to normal Mangaka. Kubo can only do it because his 'story' appeals to 10-14 year old boys. 'Skuldur said: D.Gray-Man has great art' date=' but in my opinion it's not as good as Bleach's. Yes, because it's easy to understand what's going on, one of the reasons why is, like you said, the lack of unnecessary backgrounds. Now it would be nice if you would stop insulting one of my favorite series. D< EDIT: Also, while Fullmetal Alchemist is extremely awesome, it's artwork is nothing to shout 'hurrah' about. At least not the character drawings.
DL
Bleach is good. Not amazing, but good. Art-wise, it's really quite good. Anyway, a lot of sucessful mnagaka leave panels blank. if the story gets conveyed, and it's good, I could care less about seeing trees and clouds. Leaving out the background is like leaving out 1/4 of the dialogue in a novel. I don't see how it would be hard to read a story with backgrounds. Every story I read has backgrounds, I have no problems reading it. You must have a very small attention span if you can't.

Which would be nice in certain books. It's so annoying reading a book that's 500 pages which mainly consists of descriptions about trees and other useless things. Also, personal insults? That's low. >.> I don't have a short attention span but it's kind of annoying trying to find the Akuma when everything is mashed together. Some scenes in D.Gray-Man would be so much more understandable in my opinion if it would just skip the backgrounds from time to time. Also, if the background doesn't have ANYTHING and I mean ANYTHING to do with the scene or future scenes when it's necessary to have seen the background before, then it's okay to skip it sometimes. Marisa Kirisame-ze
I'm agreeing with Voyeur here~ Mangakas should be able to convey background scenery, not just characters in panels. It's what differentiates a 'good' mangaka from a 'great' mangaka. Some manga I've read even has JUST the scenery in some panels, so you understand the atmosphere of the page and what's around the characters.
