Akihabara = best place for nerd/electronic goods in Tokyo

Harajuku = best place for clothes in Tokyo

Okinawa = a island south of Japan, where the Japanese is somewhat blended with Taiwanese

I do not see the connexion between the two first and the last one... >_>

Hmmm' date=' Holo, does knowing some Mandarin help in my pursuit of learning Japanese?

The Kanji saves you time (if you learned traditional chinese). Grammatically you earn nothing though. Some words are written with the same kanji and have the same meaning, and some have different meanings.

"電話" means telephone in both language. Pronounced "denwa" in Japanese, my guess is that it is pronounced "diàn huà" in Chinese

"手紙" means "letter" (as in the one you send) in Japanese, but "toilet paper" in Chinese. So look out. :3

I'll be taking the language at a school called Osula' date=' which stands for Osaka Something Something Something Something. It's entirelly focused on learning the language, which is awesome~~

Oh yeah' date=' Osakans have a different dialect, huh?

Which is why they made Ayumu Kasuga (Osaka) have a slight Texan accent in the english dub.

Although I dun see the conection between Osakan and Texan.

(In the show of course, not SSBB, that's just the pic I got.) If you've watched both sub and dub, you know what I'm talking about. (Hoshi no Kaabii - Kirby: Right Back At Ya)

Actually, the Kansai dialect is to base Japanese as a New York accent is to base English. In the manga, they gave Osaka a New York accent instead as Osaka is similar to New York in relation to the country's capital. I guess they used a Texan accent because voice actors who can imitate a Southern accent are more readily available than to those who imitate a New York accent.

I know of Osaka from Osaka (Ayumu or whatever her real name is...)! xD

But nah, my mom's sister used to visit there a lot. I was taken to Japan at the age of one and supposedly, we were there >____> Gah, at the age of one. Why couldn't my parents have waited so I can enjoy it? D;

Also, nice name change, but I'm still calling you Kira Kills cause that's what I do xD

Osaka's real name is Ayumu Kasuga. Only problem is that Osaka is much easier to remeber.

Bringing a kid before the age of 8 somewhere far and expensive is as good as throwing your money into a fire. Apparently I went to Disney Word when I was 4, which I barely remeber. That's okay, because I went again last year. =3

Also, my parents agreed to let me go to Japan if I get accepted to the University of Toronto. That leaves me about a year to learn enough Japanese to navigate it for my parents (which I assume are coming. It would be even more awesome if I could go myself).

Nah, she brought me to visit her sister who was living in Japan at the time. My whole family went and we couldn't pass up on the offer since my mom's brother was paying for it out of generousity (he's big in business).

Lolat the geography show about Japan that's playing in the background on my TV.

I'll be going to Japan with a friend of mine when we're older. We at least dream about it.

This is when me and my friends will go to Japan.

When I get enough money, when he gets enough money from making video games, and when our red neck friend and our Latino friend works up enough money.

Reasons for going:

Me and my friend: Anime, Manga, games, electronics, hentai, learn about Japanese culture, and chicks. (Dudes and chicks for me :p)

Latino and Red Neck friend: Ladies.

I can probably write up a good story, but my art can't compare to most mangaka.

Oh, I started reading Bakuman.

Just what I'd expect from the do that brought us Death Note.

On another note, I now love Toradora's second opening. ^-^
