DL
ah yes... fillers... you know, if all the flashbacks and filelrs were taken out of naruto, they'd have about enough footage for roughly 50 episodes.
賢狼ホロ
I love Elfen Lied. I've readed it' date=' but I haven't watched the anime. I've heard I'm not missing a lot. Is that right?[/quote'] The manga continues longer than the anime. The time skip in the manga is not in the anime. While, I originally really liked Elfien Lied, it was my favourite, I do not like it so much anymore.
The problem is the violence and bad luck in my opinion. Every time it seems like everything is sorting out, someone gets killed or abducted. For the love of Ra, it was not even a happy ending. The original idea is very good, with a new human race and everything, it could be done in a better way I think. Had I written the story, I would have concentrated more on the love-triangle and lessen the unrealistic super-mega-evil-research-lab-company-of-doom, which goes too far (especially in the manga). Some of the ecchi-scenes are justifiable, but some are not (especially in the manga). It just seems like the author had no idea what she was doing... >_> In my opinion the anime is better, because the soundtrack is awesome. The animation is also great. The worst thing about the anime is the ending song, it completely ruins the tension. >_< By the way, guess what the author is up to now? Everyone else was just stupid except Lelouch the original Geass holder of the series and then probably some Knights of Rounds.
Only Lelouch's Geass was balanced (let's face it the Yu-Gi-Oh Card Maker forum style!)' date=' it had a range, required eye-contact and could only be used once per person. That made it good. Most others had very minor or no drawbacks. Unbalanced = bad. I liked FMA, but the anime was too short.Short? It was 51 episodes, right? The manga is still going' date=' but it's only updated monthly, and I haven't read it yet...[/quote']The storyline of the manga is quite different from the story on the anime. That is what the new Brotherhood series is (at least from what I have heard). Hagaren manga and Hagaren Brotherhood are supposedly the same story, while the original anime was different. When I left Japan in January I think the latest was number 20, so the manga is probably up to 22~23 by now. DL
51 is short, if you compare it to things like anruto and bleach. THEY get the 300 episode things.
Kira Magister Magi
But if you compare to many other anime, like Angelic Layer, and Death Note, which only got 30+ eps, it's pretty long
DL
true, DN Angel and alot of others only go to 26. Which seems pretty creepy, but...
Otaku-sama
Quality over quantity my friends. The best animes are short and sweet. The worst drag on forever because the general American public can't seem to get enough of pointless action filled swill such as Naruto.
DL
I'd liek quality AND quantity...=_= but even if you say that, japan makes naruto... of course, they think about their world audience s too, but...
Otaku-sama
The only reason they keep making Naruto is because each sqeson can be sold as a box set, and since Naruto has such a large audience, both in Japan and the world, the profits are tremendous, and that's not including figurines and other affiliated merch. DL
In mangafox, naruto's second. In onemanga, narut's first. I still don;t see why. The characters lack everything. Especially the females. I don't think there's ONE female character in naruto that's likable.
.Requiem
Quantity = BadQuality = Good Code Geass was a great length nothing too long and nothing too short it had a great run all that needed work was the ending. @Otaku: You could blame the world for what happened to Naruto, but if you look at it the writer had a different storyline with it being with magic. All you need to do is blame Shonen Jump for all this crap that happens to anime. @Holo: If you told the person to do everything you want them to do then you basically have an army on your hands. *Coughlastfewepisodescough* I liked the 1st Knight of Rounds Geass only if there was more to it that is all I want to know. Shradow
I really liked Code Geass, it's probably in my top 5. But I agree with Holo, most other Geass were OPd. Though Mao's wasn't after he couldn't turn it off, because he went crazy. I can imagine when Suzaku's really old, the Geass kicks in on his death bed making him live, and he goes and runs a marathon or something. The idea makes me lol. FMA is the anime that got me into Otaku-ness, though FMA isn't really Otaku. It's still one of my favorites, because it has Alex Louis Armstrong, the best anime character EVAH! Shadow Zero
it would be interesting to see if thy continue the whole knights of the round thing. i would also be quite interested in seeing what happens with the united federation of nations. DL
I need to read code geass. I hear all about geasses and C.C (whoever she is) and it's got me interested. Must finish zero no tsukaima...
Shradow
C.C. (In the show she's her name sounds like C-2.) is the immortal girl who gave Mao and Lelouch their Geass. Because they never actually finished it. The series never had a real finale. If you're talking about FMA' date=' they tied up most of the loose ends with the movie.
Both Al (not in the armor and with all memories back) and Ed got stuck on the other side of the gate in the end. DL
they had an FM movie? Also, Iknew C.C was important, yet I still don;t know what geass is. To me, it's just another fancy sharingan. It looks like it.
Shradow
Geass is simply their power to do stuff. Lelouch can give anyone one, and only one command, which they will obey no matter.Mao can read minds.Charles can remove and implant memories. The 1st Knight of the Round (forget his name) can see the future. I think that's it... Anyone else with Geass?
DL
... so it's a sharingan?
.Requiem
Here let me explain what Geass is. The Geass is the embodiment of a persons true self like say Mao for example who can read minds. He was lonely as a child so probably he wanted to know what other people are feeling so he could grow closer. So he was giving the Geass of mind reading ultimately destroying him in the process each time he used it. Another example could be Rolo (Or whatever his real name is) didn't have a purpose in life except as an assassin so the Geass he was given gave him the ability to stop time. Something like a reference that there is no one except himself he should worry about. Now time to explain how you get Geass, to get Geass you must make a contract with a Code bearer and you must fulfill the contract when the time comes. If you can't or won't fulfill the contract your Geass will consume you and ultimately destroying you like how Mao was. After fulfilling the contact you get the Code the ability to pass on Geass and basically you get immortality also connections to everyone who could posses Geass. Dark Link your animation in your sig is really annoying, mind putting it into a signature >_>
DL
you mean a spoiler? I like it, but thinkin about changing it. How's it annoying. So there's different Geass, and they each portray the person. So Lelouch's is to control people right? The spin off told me that much. (picked up and read spin off thinking it was the real thing)
.Requiem
Sure spoiler. I just don't like typing while seeing the same motion over and over again. Lelouch is manipulative and thinks forward like in chess so mind control is a perfect Geass for him. Each Geass depicts a person's true self, you will get some reference to why that is a little later in the series when they introduce C's World. 賢狼ホロ
What would your Geass be? 51 is short' date=' if you compare it to things like anruto and bleach. THEY get the 300 episode things.[/quote']"51 us short, if you compare it to things like sheet and crap."(Sorry, but I am allergic against super-shounen) true' date=' DN Angel and alot of others only go to 26. Which seems pretty creepy, but...[/quote']What is creepy? 24~26 is a season series. 12~13 is a half-season series. Those are the most usual... >_> I'd liek quality AND quantity...=_=Hmm... the only thing I would say that fits into that category' date=' would probably be Initial D.First Stage is bad (26 episodes)Second Stage is okay (13 episodes)Third Stage is good (movie)Fourth Stage is awesome (26 episodes) Note that there has been two releases called Battle Stage 1 & 2, with only the (car) races from the series. First Battle Stage was ~ 50 minutes with clips from First, Second and Third Stage. Battle Stage 2 only contained battles from Fourth Stage, but was ~ 65 minutes. At least they learned, and concentrated on the good parts. Quite the opposite to Hayate. First episode is epic. First few episodes and the one with the tentacle mecha is good. Rest of season one is okay. Our anime-watching-club stopped watching Hayate during the second season... We did not laugh anymore... Code Geass was a great length nothing too long and nothing too short it had a great run all that needed work was the ending.Nyeh... As the cliffhanger in the end of season one is killed and the story restarts during the second season, I think Code Geass was too long. It felt really like bad planing. @Holo: If you told the person to do everything you want them to do then you basically have an army on your hands. *Coughlastfewepisodescough*Yeah' date=' that was cheating. Or Lelouch haxxing the systemz. Still, if it is Lelouch who cheats, it is not cheating, it is skillz. : DBut, yeah, I did not like that they used the loophole. I hear all about geasses and C.C (whoever she is)She is, perhaps arguably, the smexiest green-haired girl. :
DL
I think Hayate counts as both Quality and Quantity 1st episode = Epic!1st Season = Awesome2nd Season = Where would this be, exactly? But after that, they really get into the plotline.Right now, I think it's epic again. .Requiem
Hayate was decent until episode 12 then it went downhill. I dislike the series a lot nothing interesting about it.
DL
That's in the beginning, which is why I read the manga. Also, around ch 160, the interesting stuff starts to happen, now it's reaching its climax.
.Requiem
I don't have time to read a 160 chapters >_> and it takes that long to get to the climax? Let me guess they finally get married like they were joking throughout the whole show or does Hayate finally get that sex change?
