OnSlaUghT
the building where you blow up the tanks was the first checkpoint, the house on the right was second one, then you airstrike the path to the house on the left and run downstairs, then airstrike the guys on the right then pelt smoke so you can run to the helicopter. ragnarok1945
yeah, and you have only 3 min to do it. This is why you call the airstrike, stand right outside the blast zone, then run REALLY fast as soon as it's over. It was the only way to make it work on hardened and veteran difficulty
OnSlaUghT
And this why you need checkpoints, if you reach a building in 30 seconds you get a checkpoint
ragnarok1945
hey, the lack of checkpoints would make sense in upper difficulties. Then it'll separate the REAL skilled players from those to faked their way through it
OnSlaUghT
Well at least i won it. I just won one shot kill one kill on veteran just now.
Esplin 9466 Primary
that's the first game that i ever beat on normal, except GTA.every other game i always put it on the easiest level.
ragnarok1945
Well at least i won it. I just won one shot kill one kill on veteran just now. How many tries did it end up taking you? If you took 6 or less, that's very good.
OnSlaUghT
you mean how times i died overall or how many times i died in that one try?
ragnarok1945
how many times you died in the try to finally beat it, obviously
OnSlaUghT
um... 5 times, 3 being in the room with the dogs and 2 soldiers, once to get to that room and once while waiting for the helicopter
ragnarok1945
yeah that's what I find a little annoying. To me, the dogs are much harder enemies than the soldiers actually are (this was true even when I played it on the easy setting the first time)
OnSlaUghT
I put macmillan in the corridor, and shoot the dogs. then i shot at the walls to kill the soldiers.at the end you can fend them off at the spawn point where they first appear, it much easier
ragnarok1945
Yeah same here. I put the captain in some place I know there's no enemies, then go search the building myself to kill all that I can see. Only when it's all clear do I go back to get the captain. OnSlaUghT
going by the first spawn point causes them to spawn elsewhere. then you can snipe them easier
ragnarok1945
only if you have the ammo to do it. Me, I prefer going up to the face and shooting them with the AK-74 or something
OnSlaUghT
the g3 and m21 share the same ammo, so i had a sniper with 300 ammo
ragnarok1945
that I actually didn't know. I've rarely ever used the G3 in that level before. So which gun do you use most often in that level?
OnSlaUghT
m21 sniper
ragnarok1945
Same here for long range, but I'm forced to use the MP5 (I think that was it) a lot Those guys tend to swarm in too fast
OnSlaUghT
if you go to the spawn point there will be considerably less
ragnarok1945
I actually didn't know that. I thought the same number will spawn in regardless of where you go.
OnSlaUghT
they won't be coming your way however, macmillan will deal with them
ragnarok1945
how often did you actually rely on McMillan to save your life in that level? For me, although it wasn't much, he did save me like 5 or 6 times from close shaves.
OnSlaUghT
he took out guys who i could've got myself, the enemies number splits in half to take us down. the friendly dogs helped out a lot though.
ragnarok1945
friendly dogs? What friendly dogs? I thought they were all hostile dogs.
