Struggle Of Powers

Moka let out another sigh, then some vines and plants grew from out of the ground to make a throne-like chair decorated with roses.

"I guess we're waiting here then." she said and took a seat in her new throne and crossed her legs in a lady-like manner.

Sky noticed Black staring intensely at the book in Aya's hands.

"Hey, Black, you okay?" he stepped closer to him, wondering if Black was alright.

[-Genesis-]

 

Akima looked up at Eden's question, "The difference is that the North has already helped us. Do you remember Alamos? He's from the North, and those troops who helped us were his." He turned his gaze on the others around him, "Well any other questions?"

 

Kallen stood by Lora under the tree, she was smiling, "Lora did mother ever tell you the story of the Oak Tree?" Kallen was looking up at a crude carving in the tree near the top of the main trunk, it was a heart with four letters in it.

 

Aya was sitting under a tree writing in her notebook while Cougar and Natalie stood around Akima. Actually it only seemed like she was writing in her notebook, in truth the book was writing a story involving the plans, but not controlling it, so baically she was recording the meeting with perfect accuracy.

 

Kiria appeared outside the Western Military's true base and walked through the gate and into the complex. Once inside he went directly to the conference room where he knew Shane and the others were filling the General in on all that had occured. Kiria slammed the door open without any hesitation, walked over and took a seat.

" cool story time." Josh said from his ghostly hallow.

[Blake]

"Huh?" He subconciously asked Moka, "Uh, yeah, I'm fine." He kept staring. No matter how much effort he gave, he could not look away. IT was writing history before, or as, it happened. He thought as he stared in awe.

[Freeman The Master]

Eden was still worried about all of this. "Well with my past experience, no military is worth trusting." Eden sighed though and shock his head. "But I Guess its are only chance at the moment. When do we leave?"

" YOU GUESS.... well thats a great way to do things....I GUESS i,ll run off and start a war." josh said sarcsticly From be the great beond.

Koya overheard Eden remark about staying there and shook his head, not liking the idea one bit. Standing up in the night air he explained why, "I don't think staying in this place would be the best idea. There are too many . . . bad memories."

 

Koya had to choose his words carefully so he didn't upset those who had lost loved ones in the madness. Eden sighed at the prospect of moving again, but knew it was the right thing to do, "Okay fine. Just give me a minute."

 

"Who is she?"

 

Sky was aloft in the air not really paying any attention to either of them. When he saw how jealous his sister became at such a young girl, in his oppinion Moka was still nothing more than a kid herself, he laughed internally. Black loked at Aya, "This is Aya, a girl who helped me. I was just," he stopped, "I think that her book should be secret" he thought. Moka let out a sigh of annoyance, she wish she could have been in on the action. But to her, that was Sky's fault for not letting her do so.

 

"What's his relation to her? Well it doesn't matter, I can find out anyway." she thought as she looked at Aya, then to Black with a smile.

Moka's powers over pheromone would do the trick for her, but she didn't want to use it again just yet, "Anyway, where's that other guy? Um . . . Destiny?" Moka said as she looked over Black's shoulder to see if she could spot him. Sky, who had been adrift in the air for quite some time, landed near them, "His name is Destined."

 

"She's a friend," Lora said as she hugged the tree she had been placed under for support, "So no need to get angry . . ."

 

"Are you sure you're alright? I could carry you again." The concern was obvious in her eyes as Kallen helped Lora stand. Lora shook her head and told her she didn't want to be carried and pushed off Kallen, forcing her weakened legs to hold her heavy body on its own.

 

Todou stood a little back from Yaming, still acting as her self appointed bodyguard. He stood with downcast eyes thinking about Pulse and how it must have hurt him to suddenly find out that he was fighting his own daughters and then have to give them up so soon after finding them again. He looked up at the sky, "Goodbye my old friend, I'm sorry that I couldn't help you as I have your daughters. Now sleep peacefully."

 

"In the end, after all he did, he made up for it by saving the lives of those he loved." Yaming said walking towards Todou. He noticed across her neck was a medallian choker with the symbol of a dragon; an obvious relic from her late husband. Akima nodded his hea din agreement as he sat on the ground with a map infront of him. He motioned for everyone to come over, which they soon did. He pointed out at the Garethel plains on the map, "This is where I think we should meet Alamos and his troops, from there we can head to the Northern Military to ask for help. I'm not sure about the details but what do you all think?"

 

Eden had been lying on the ground completely worn-out when Akima called for him and the rest. Any energy he had left was gone by now, but once he heared his name get called he shook it off and slowly got to his feet. Slowly but surely he walked over to the others who where looking at the map, "The Northern Military? What makes them any different from the Western Military? How do we know they will help?"

 

"I don't know," Black replied. Giving another sigh Moka used her powers to make some vines and plants grow and fashioned them to make a throne-like chair decorated with roses.

 

"I guess we're waiting here then," she said and took a seat in her new throne and crossed her legs in a lady-like manner, "At least until everyone is done chatting."

"I have one!" Lora called out as Kallen stood by her, "What if they don't help us? Then what?"

Courgar and Natalie were all for the plan, and most of them were, until Lora stated what they'd do if they were denyed aid. It was a tough question and one that needed to be answered.

 

"I don't think they'd leave us out in the cold," Koya finally responded and then gave a smile, "After all we could always have you do your puppy dog face."

 

Lora laughed and then nodded her head, regaining her confidence as Koya turned to everyone else, "I say we go for it. We don't have any other options anyways."

 

"Well with my past experience, no military is worth trusting," Eden sighed though and shook his head, "But you make a point. It's the only chance at the moment."

 

Everyone rallied around Koya and Lora as Josh floated above Aya, looking down at the book. As he read "over" her shoulder he gave chuckle, "Cool . . . story time."

 

 

Kiria was standing in the rubble of another place, it was the city where he was born, and where he'd met Catherine. It was where he's lost his sister and now he'd destroyed it completely, but not before ordering it's complete evacuation. He'd sent all of the people to neighboring cities. In his left hand he held Masamune, it was his most powerful weapon. In a single strike filled with rage and sorrow he had obliterated it all . . .

 

He was filled with hatred and rage, although he didn't show it to Shane and the others, he actually cared about Catherine. She had been the first person to show him any kindness, she'd helped him grow and train, she'd turned him into what he was today. It had been for her that he'd joined with the Western Military, because she'd asked him to. Now he'd destroyed all that he had to return to, he didn't plan on turning back. His only goal now was to annihilate those rebels who had changed Pulse and led to Catherine's death. He collapsed to the ground and let the rage take him, he screamed as tears rolled down his face. Kiria clutched Masamune as his one wing sprouted from his back. He leapt into the air, he flew up until he was about 5 miles up. Then he dive bombed toward the ground and stabbed Masamune into the ground and released a massive burst of energy that he desired with his broken hear to match what Pulse's last act had been.

Kiria stood up slowly and his wing disappeared, he pulled Masamune out of the ground and looked out over the ruins of his past. "Now I can't turn back, Catherine . . . I will destroy them for this. I . . . I have nothing left to lose."

 

23 O'Hundred Hours-

 

Kiria appeared outside the Western Military's true base and walked through the gate and into the complex. Once inside he went directly to the conference room where he knew Shane and the others were filling the General in on all that had occured. Kiria slammed the door open without any hesitation, walked over and took a seat.

 

"Well lookie h're boys! Th' big man fin'lly came home 'fter cryin' over Catherine." Shane mocked as he leaned over the table.

 

"Shane! We do not have time for that." Nic stated as Andrew and the General glared at the elementalist. Leaning back in his chair Shane gave a sigh and waved his hand at the newest Death Knight.

 

"Indeed we don't. In fact none of you do!" the General statted as he flipped the monitor on to show a hazy image, "We are too close to bearing fruit on our mission to fail now."

 

Andrew clicked a button under the desk and a holofile appeared in front of each of them, "As such we need each of you to complete missions in secret. The supers who appeared at our Research Complex will be dealt with by other means."

 

"Other?" Richard asked dumbfounded.

 

"He means by us," a mechanial voice called out from the corner of the room. Looking over Kiria could see yellow and green eyes glow; his heart hoping for the impossible as he layed eyes on one of the new assassines . . .

[Tempest Dahlia]

Destined was stretched out on the grass, his hands behind his head and Lucifer over his face. He had been resting like this for awhile now. He was so bored and he hadn't killed anything in a long time... The pressure was mounting. He wouldn't be able to hold this feeling back much longer.

[-Genesis-]

Akima rolled up the map and stood, "Well then it's been decided, we'll stay here until morning and then we'll head out to the Northern Military."

 

With the meeting over Aya's notebook stopped writing and closed before falling into her hands. She got up and went over to Lora, "Hey are you feeling better?"

 

Kiria looked at the assassins with interest, there was something odd about them, he felt like he knew one of them but looking at her, he didn't have a clue as to who she was or where he might know her from. Kiria cast the thought aside and stood, "General, please let me go and hunt these supers down!" Kiria looked back at the assassins, "These second rate hunters would take double the time I would."

[Jake the Sage]

 

The one with yellow eyes had vanished and appeared in front of Kiria, jabbing a knife into his neck enough to draw a small portion of blood; this even suprised Kiria himself.

 

"What was that?"

 

"Ike! Control yourself!" The General ordered and the "man" let Kiria go and walked back to the other assassine, who had not made a noise or movedan inch since they had arrived. The General glared at Kiria and then answered his answer, "Your request has been denied soldier. Ike and his parnter will deal with the rouge supers. I am going to need to you guard Andrew."

 

The meeting had ended, and in synch so did Aya's book, most of the group had split off to either converse or get some rest. She got up and went over to Lora, "Hey are you feeling better?"

 

"Yeah . . . I'm able to stand at least," Lora said as she smiled to her friend. Feeling her stomach grumble she realized she, or anyone for that matter, had eaten since dinner yesterday. "Hey Aya, wanna help me with something?"

[Freeman The Master]

Once Eden haired that they where going to stay the night, he sighed and relaxed. He did in a big inhale as a sign of Relaxation and relief. "Okay..." He paused for a moment and let his stomach grumble somewhat. He paused for a second, and continued where left off. "Is it just me or is anyone hungry?"

[Jake the Sage]

Koya looked at Eden as he remarked about being hungry. Thinking about it his stomach answered for him and he gave a light hearted laugh, it was good to have a normal conversation than one about wars and the like. "I guess I am . . ."

[-Genesis-]

Kiria followed the General out of the room, "Sir, you can't be serious about this. I'll admit that the assassins are impressive, although that Ike is a bit controlled by his emotions, I could eliminate them easily. Besides, protecting Andrew, he can protect himself! Sir give me a good reason, other than an order, that I can't go destroy the supers myself. Why do you want me here?" Kiria stood there waiting for an answer.

 

Aya looked curiously at Lora, "Sure, go ahead."

 

Akima was watching Lora and Aya, Kallen had asked him to keep an eye on Lora while she rested. *She really seems to want to keep Lora safe beyond all reason.*

 

Kallen herself was sleeping up on the branches in a tree.

 

Cougar and Natalie were sitting together talking quietly.

 

Todou stood on the edge of the cliff thinking trying to remember where the General and the Death Knights would have gone after the destruction of the Western Central City. He remembered another core base father into the core of the west, but he couldn't remember exactly where it was. "Damn if only I could remember."

 

Alisa walked down the hall with Ike, "Ike was that really necessary back there? I mean you do know who he is right?" She didn't even look at him while talking, "Well?"

[Jake the Sage]

"I have read the reports; at first I believed him to be a genius and master swordsman. However, after meeting him face-to-face, he is nothing more than a shrivelled up old goat with no reason to be living anymore. It sickens me . . ." Ike responded cold and harsh as the mechanical doors whooshed open to reveal the inimaginably high walls that completely covered the base, "Lets be on our way Alisa."

 

"Sure, go ahead."

 

"Great! Thank you," Lora said as she took her friends hand and began to run off from the group, "I know everyone is going to like this."

 

As the two ran off Akima had his head turned to watch Kallen sleep, almost thinking how peaceful she looked. When he returned to watching the two kids he slapped his forehead, he had lost track of them. "Kallen is going to kill me for this . . ."

 

Cougar and Natalie had been sitting apart from the rest of the group, Natalie in Cougar's arms, and were quietly talking about their future. Kyba and Darren, along with their "bosses" soon walked in front of the group. No one had any intention to mock the couple or to pick a fight, but the feeling was things might be said that shouldn't.

 

With the tension rising as Destined and Courgar glare at each other Todoud and Lt Tyler are wracking their brains over the location of the Westerns Main Military Base. In a heated debate over its exact location they were begining to yell at each other and give rude remarks about how they couldn't tell the difference between a military base and a bakery. Koya had heard all of the commotion and walked between the two, lightly pushing them back on the ground, "Guys, guys! No need to argue wabout this. We will find it eventually, so why not forget it for the moment and change the subject."

 

"You have a point," Tyler said as he slumped back on the ground, "So what is there to talk about except the upcoming battles?"

 

Getting a sly smile Koya looked around at the two other men and leaned in close, "What about members of the opposite sex?"

 

Both Todou and Tyler forze in place and looked at Koya has he tried not to laugh, "Well, after all, feelings can emerge in the heat of battle can't they? What about you and Kallen, Todou? HOw is your relationship going?" he teased as the doctor scoffed in embarrassment.

 

[Blake]

Black just looked at Cougar, and then turned to Destined "What are you bickering about" He asked them and adde, "Albeit Silent Bickering.", but instead of waiting for a response, he turned to Moka and began talking "So, what's going on with them?" He said, not sure why they were upset. "Did Destined burn something? Maybe he was acting evil? Ahhhh well..." Black just looked up at the sky, looking at the clouds, specifically.

[The D.M.]

Dark was sitting in a Tree bored out of his mind. *yawn* "hmmm my plans are never going to take off unless i find out HOW to get OUT of this world for some reason i can use my portals either....damn" he leaned back on a sturdy branch and fell asleep "zzzzz....mmng nuk nuk woonk"

" well im getting tones of dirt on poeple...nut i cant use it. "josh said as he floated over them.

Alisa followed Ike out of the base, "Well then you're not very observant, you proved his point back there. By attacking him you showed him that you lack self-control, the look on his face wasn't surprise, it was calm and calculating. You've read the reports you say, then you know that cutting his throat wouldn't kill him. There have been multiple attempts by other militaries to assassinate him, 18 in fact, and every single one has failed. He could wipe you out easily and instead of trying appeal to him... You make an enemy of one of the most powerful people in the world. How foolish." Alisa kept walking despite the look on Ike's face.

 

Kiria stood there in the General's way waiting for an answer. Kiria was enraged at this insult, he knew that the General knew that he could do the job much faster than the assassins and yet he was refused, now he wanted a reason.

 

Aya was running with Lora when suddenly he notebook floated from her knapsack and into the air. It opened and started writing. It was following them and writing at the same time. Aya stopped, "Lora wait a sec my notebook is writing." She held out her hands and it floated over and landed in them. Aya read the story that was happening, "Uh oh! Lora Akima is tracking us!" She waited for Lora to come over before she continued, "It seems your sister asked him to keep an eye on you." Aya looked up at Lora, "And he's not too far behind us, what do we do?"

 

Akima knew that if he couldn't find Lora before Kallen woke up he was gonna be in a load of trouble, so he was tracking them.

 

Todou laughed at the question, "Well I'll admit that Kallen is a beautiful woman, even though she would diagree. But the truth is that I'm just a family friend nothing more, and second I'm twice her age so that's that. What about you Koya? Anything you'd like to share?" Todou smiled darkly at Koya, because Todou had answered the question now Koya would have to.

 

As Cougar glared at Destined Natalie whispered into his ear, "You know your hot temper is going to burn me someday." Suddenly Cougar burst out laughing at the bad joke and the truth behind it. He looked down at Natalie in his arms, "Fine, you win ok, I'll tell him." He looked up at Destined standing above them, "Natalie has forgiven you, and after how you fought in the battle I guess it's my turn. Destined I forgive you for what happened back in the forest and I was wondering if we could start over, if not as friends, at least as allies." Cougar and Natalie looked at Destined waiting for a response.

Sky stepped in before Moka could respond to Black's question.

"Well. . . Destined and Cougar got in a nasty spat before, which threatened the pretty doll in his arms right now." he sighed looking over at Cougar and Natalie and avoiding eye contact.

Sky hated everything that happened to the poor girl, and that Cougar had to watch Destined's hat almost crush her skull.

 

Moka stayed seated in her throne, ignoring her brother and was looking at Destined stare at Cougar and vice-versa. She didn't know the Cougar fellow, but wasn't too sure about Destined either.

"If I can control those two. . ." her thoughts trailed off into more plans. . .

[Jake the Sage]

"Uh oh! Lora Akima is tracking us!" She waited for Lora to come over before she continued, "It seems your sister asked him to keep an eye on you. And he's not too far behind us, what do we do?"

 

She gave a laugh and held onto both of Aya's hands and turned to face her, "Don't you worry. I learned a trick from Akima that even he can't follow. Now close your eyes and keep very still."

 

Akima was getting closer to them and Aya couldn't see any other means but to put her faith in this trick. Closing her eyes Aya could feel an energy envelope her. Then it was as if she was in the water, free floating with no sense of direction. Finally Lora's words came to her, "You can open your eyes now . . ."

 

Looking around Aya saw that they were in the middle of a barren wasteland, with the long forgotten signs of battle a lingering memory. Where ever they were, it was obvious it was anywhere near Akima or . . . anyone for that matter.

 

"Well, after all, feelings can emerge in the heat of battle can't they? What about you and Kallen, Todou? HOw is your relationship going?" he teased as the doctor scoffed in embarrassment. Eventually Todou laughed at the question, "Well I'll admit that Kallen is a beautiful woman, even though she would diagree. But the truth is that I'm just a family friend nothing more, and second I'm twice her age so that's that. What about you Koya? Anything you'd like to share?"

 

Todou smiled darkly at Koya, because Todou had answered the question now Koya would have to. Koya's face immediately turned red and he glanced away. He stuttered for a minute as Omar watched from the tree above them and chuckled, "I-I don't . . . why would I like anyone here!?"

 

Kiria stood there in the General's way waiting for an answer. Kiria was enraged at this insult, he knew that the General knew that he could do the job much faster than the assassins and yet he was refused, now he wanted a reason. The General turned to Kiria, his eyes cold and so menacing that even one like Kiria had to glance away for a second, "I do not need to explain my reasons to you. You will follow your orders as your are told. Understand!?"

 

With Kiria not getting the answer he was looking for Alisa was defending him against Ike as they walked through the wasteland. She had explained how having him as an enemy would be a bad thing and that he is more powerful than Ike. AS she babbled on Ike shook his head, "He is human. All humans are weak and simple minded."

" OLd pervert getting it on!" josh said..." WHy do i even say eney thing... some one plz laugh ...let me know you hear me."

Destined turned to look Cougar dead in the eyes. One of the men on this earth he would just love to kill. Lucifer had sensed Destined's malicious plan before he was able to initiate it...

Destined turned away from Cougar's face, looking at his fingernails with sudden interest. "I'm sorry... I didn't hear what you said too good... You mind repeating what you said?" He and Lucifer choked back a grin.

[-Genesis-]

Cougar smiled kindly up at Destined and spoke, "Of course, I said that because of the fact that Natalie has forgiven you, and after how you fought in the battle I guess it's my turn. Destined I forgive you for what happened back in the forest and I was wondering if we could start over, if not as friends, at least as allies." Cougar looked up at Destined waiting again. Natalie looked up at Cougar stunned, she was so sure that he was going to throw an insult in , but somehow in a matter of minutes Cougar seemed to have either gained unparalleled patience or he was truly forgiving him.

 

Akima felt the surge of energy as Lora transported herself and Aya, as soon as he felt that energy he knew he was in trouble, "Dammit! I can't track a teleportation! I taught her that so that she could escape from enemies, not so she could run from me and mess around! Now all I can do is wait until she comes back." He sat down and let him mind drift into the inbetween realm, if he felt Lora's power enter it again for a teleportation he'd us his own to drag her back here.

 

Aya looked around at the wasteland and started to panic, "Wha-what! Where are we? L-Lora what are w-we doing here!?!" Her throat started to close, she was panicking so much that she was having an asthma attack!

 

Todou shook his head at Koya, "Come now I answered honestly and we're not going to spread anything so tell us. This was you're idea now come on tell us the truth."

 

When Kiria looked back at the General his eyes burned with a fury that even the General recognized. It was the same fury that compelled his to wipe out multiple cities twelve years ago when his sister went missing, before Catherine had begged him to stop as his friend and his only attachment left to the world. But now he had nothing and no one who was a good enough reason for him to stop. He moved instantly quick and appeared infront of the General, "I need a reason, you're telling me to follow orders from a man who has never given me a reason to respect him. Well why don't you give me that reason now. Tell me why you want me here."

 

Alisa looked to Ike with a solemn look, "Well if you think he's only human then you'll die to him before you ever get a chance..." She cut herself off abruptly as if she'd said too much. When she spoke again it was carefully and wary, "How high is your security clearance?" She seemed afraid to tell him something, as if she knew something that Ike didn't.

[Tempest Dahlia]

Destined sighed deeply and rolled his eyes. Somehow he expected Cougar to get some sort of anger...

"Fine..." He said, folding his arms and looking away. "I accept your... Kind gesture, if you will... But don't expect any apologies from this mouth."

He pointed to his mouth for emphasis.

"Whether you care or not, it will not happen."

[Jake the Sage]

"My security clearance? What matter is it to you what I can and cannot access?" Ike said as the continued through the wasteland. He had completely ignored Alisa as his sensors picked up another pair in the distance.

 

"Its alright Aya . . . its alright," Lora calmed her friend down as she began to panic, "I teleported us away from Akima so that he couldn't find u-"

 

"Lora? Is that really you?" a voice called out form seemingly no where.

 

The General glared at Kiria as he overstepped his boundaries. Quickly and with little force he backhanded his soldier, which sent Kiria flying. When he stood up Kiria noticed that his lower lip was bleeding; he never imagined the General could EVER harm him. "You will do as ordered without hesitation. That is FINAL!" With those last seering words then General left, the door closing behind him.

 

"W-Well . . . I kind of love her . . . and I kind of don't." Koya stumbled as Omar fell down and landed next to him. Putting his hand over Koya's shoulder he laughed, "How can you love someone and not love them at the same time?"
