Dark sensed the prescense and had an idea he had seen a movie once when he was in Raiden's body "White Noise" it was called he pulled out his Laptop booted it up and turned on Audacity (recording program) and began recording "I can sense a presence here...Who Are You?...Are you a friend or an enemy?"

"Kallen! Koya!" Todou and Lt Tyler yelled from a distance with the rest of the group. Kallen ran at top speed toward the hill, with Lora in her arms, and Koya and Akima following behind her. She cradled Lora to her chest and started crying as Todou and Tyler ran to comfort her.

Whispering Kallen swore, "I'm so sorry Lora . . . I'm so sorry that you had to meet him like that. I should have protected you, even from him . . ."

"Do you think she'll be alright?" Akima asked as he looked on, worried. He hoped that Koya knew which of them he was referring to.

"I think they'll both be alright," Yaming, answering Koya as he watched the battle, said with a smile. Before Akima could ask how she was so sure he heard a weak voice call out.

"Its alright Kallen . . . I'm glad to know he's . . . alive . . . still," Lora said as she opened her eyes tiredly. Even Destined was somewhat happy that the young girl hadn't passed away; even Josh, as he floated amongst the group as a ghost felt alive with happiness. Aya wiped a tear from her eyes as the notebook and pencil she had poured her energies into floated from her hand and remained suspended in mid-air. writing the story automatically. Black had just woken up and, remembering the battle, hot up and looked at Aya, "Ugh . . . my head hurts!"

Groaning he rubbed his head, "Where are we now?"

"We're on top of a hill not far from the base, Natalie and Cougar are standing a little behind us watching the fight."

"What!? I've . . . we've got to help!" Black said as she shot up to his feet. Standing too soon before he recovered he became lightheaded and fell back down, where he saw the book floating, "Are you doing that? This bodes ill. WHY is it doing that?!"

"calm down Black," Kyba suggested to his collegue as he walked towards him, "I doubt that thing is meant to harm us."

As Kyba walked Darren was brushing his tears away, having hear the "touching" moment between the long lost sisters. As Kyba sat down across from Black, Dark appeared behind him as he had been following the group since before the battle. "What's happening here?"

"A good man is atoning for his sins," Koya answered as the sound of Catherine's scream reached them.

Catherine had screamed in rage before charging at Pulse, "If I can kill him before he builds enough energy . . . then I won't die when he releases it!"

With each stride time seemed to slow, the sun's final rays fading as they were replaced by the glow of a full moon. Now above Pulse, his energy swirling around him and moving like a radiant fire, she reared back and slammed both of her arms to the ground where her enemy was standing. Dust rose as everyone who was watching from the distance gasped in terror. Even in her weak state, Lora tried to call out to her father. Laughing in victory Catherine's eyes grew wide when the sensation of her knuckles snapping hit her. Even before the dust settled the dark blue aura broke free and everyone could see Pulse standing, his hands stopping Catherine's immense strength. Like adding fuel to the fire his aura grew more fierce as he began to push her back. With one shove he made her move back and a ball of energy formed in his clenched fist as he slammed it into her chest, screaming, "I'm not giving in!!!"

Flying into the remainders of the compound Pulse's aura reached its height, ""I will not bow! I WILL NOT FAIL!!!"

Screaming a shockwave coarse throughout the land and toppled the building onto Catherine as she rose to her feet. Tremors shook the earth as the energy coursed over Lora, Kallen and their group; one could wonder if the energy itself desired not to harm them as well. Looking up from her daze and through blood soaked "hair" Catherine could see Pulse's aura becoming darker in the moonlight and lightning coarsing around him. Stepping towards her he formed his energy for an attack, then vanished. Appearing above her he slammed both fists into her skull, making it crack from the pressure. Opening his hands he gave a laugh as Catherine looked up in terror, "THIS IS THE END, FOR US BOTH!!!"

Blasting Catherine with every inch of his power the ooze that made up her body evaporated slowly as she writhed in agnoy. As the ooze disappeared so too did Catherine. In a scream Catherine vanished as the light from the final attack became so brilliant that night became day once more, causing anyone within the immediate area to have to shield their eyes. Once it faded Pulse stood in the center of a giant crater, his energy depelted and lightning coarsing around him at an astounding rate. Soon he grabbed his stomach as he spat blood out.

He fell to his knees and his eardrums burts, causing blood running from his ears and down his face. The lightning entered and exited him as he smiled, blood tears overflowing. He had achieved his goal- his daughters were safe, he could die with some ammount of satisfaction now. Falling flat on the ground his raspy breathing began to slow as he shut his eyes, smiling as the lightning vanished- and with no sense of pain he passed on, the wind lightly blowing at his hair with the stars shining in the sky.

As the blast dissipated Kiria was standing in front of Shane, Richard and the others with Masamune held out in front of him and the ground where he and the other Death Knights were standing was untouched. He had blocked the blast from touching them... by simply holding the sword out in front of him!

Aya looked to Black at his question about her notepad, "I'm not doing that, it just happens every now and then, I can do it if I want to but right now I'm not. It just happens sometimes if the story is too powerful and I can't control it." As the blast ended and Pulse died the notebook closed and fell to the ground, "See the story ended so it stopped."

As Kallen arrived at the top of the hill she continued to whisper to Lora, "Go ahead and rest, I have you, and I'm not letting go. I'll be here when you wake up." Kallen turned to look back at the battlefield one last time before walking back far enough that they couldn't see it. She sat down against a tree and layed Lora down on a blanket which Aya brought over, "Is she going to be okay?" Kallen smiled and nodded, "Yes, now lets let her rest." Aya also nodded and before walking away she spoke, "You should rest too, I'll take your place in the meeting and tell you everything later, you see..." She lifted her notebook, "... I take really good notes." Then she walked over to Natalie and Cougar who had decided to take responsibility for the now alone Aya.

When they got to the hill Akima stopped, "Let's let Kallen and Lora have some time alone for now. I think they're going to need it before we move on." He turned to Koya and Yaming waiting for them to acknowledge what he'd said.

Black glared at the book. "Where did you det that. A book that changes facts I mean." He turned a glaring eye at her. "My book is a summoning version of one of those." HE turned to the book again. "And that one just wrote a stroy. A story that Josh died in, and Catherine went monstrous. Where did you get it?"

Aya frowned, "It didn't do that, you see I'm not very adept with my power so I can't control everything that goes on around me and in the stories. It's kind of annoying when it takes off like that so I usually write stories ahead of time and use them when the circumstances fit."

Kiria shook his head and dispersed Masamune, "Well, goodbye Catherine." He walked away a bit and noticed the light glit off of something. Kiria kneeled down and picked it up, it was the vial of the serum that had fallen out of the case and into the rubble earlier. He pocketed the vial and continued walking, "I'll see you all at the emergency bunker witht the General." Then he disappeared.

Black looked back and thought He mentally laughed and called to her "Yeah, I'm up here!" Then he turned back to Aya "I'm curious as to HOW it changes history and events." His eyes glowed "Because, that is quite a power." HE thought about it

Kallen sat on the hill and whisper to Lora, "Go ahead and rest, I have you, and I'm not letting go. I'll be here when you wake up."

"Alright . . . I am kind of tired," Lora said as she curled into a ball and fell asleep, the sounds of the battle a distant noise, "Night . . ."

As the blast dissipated Kiria was standing in front of Shane, Richard and the others with Masamune held out in front of him and the ground where he and the other Death Knights were standing was torched as if it had been on fire. His cloths had been shinged and charred by some kind of "fire", having blocked the blast from killing them.

"Well that was intense," Shane commented as he stepped next to Kiria, slapping his shoulder, "Good thing you valiantly put your own life in danger to save us buddy!"

"What a waist of time," Nic stated as he turned to leave, "We should report to the General."

"Missing your nanny already newbie? Oh well . . . guess we should pop in for a visit or else he might get annoyed with us. I mean . . . he's ALWAYS annoyed with me, but . . . you get the point." Shane rambled on as he scratched the back of his head. Kiria shook his head and dispersed Masamune, "Well, goodbye Catherine."

He walked away a bit and noticed the light glit off of something, kneeling down he picked it up. Within the rubble was the vial of the serum that had fallen out of the case and into the rubble earlier. He pocketed the vial and continued walking, "I'll see you all at the emergency bunker witht the General."

Then he disappeared, with Shane giving a smirk. Looking at Nic and Richard, both not much caring for what he was getting giddy about, he showed the vial. "I know he is going to hate me for that, but I just couldn't resist the temptation!"

Both shook their heads and then headed off for the Western Military's true base, leaving behind the obliterated Capital City.

The explosion had rocked the hill and made everyone turn as the light reached its fever pitch. Shading their eyes they could hear the symphony of Pulse and Catherine's death screams as they were taken from the realm of the living. Even before the light faded away they all knew that Pulse was no longer alive, and Kallen turned to look back at the battlefield one last time. She sat down against a tree and layed Lora down on a blanket which Aya had brought over, even though he had sacrificed himself to save them both, she couldn't forgive him. The power surge in the distance had been huge, or at least to Eden it was. The amount of power in that one instant had nearly drivin him nuts; it was not just Eden, but Lee as well. It had messed up most of his internal systems for a breif moment, but both of them shock it off.

"Is she going to be okay?" Aya asked again, shaking Kallen from her thoughts.

"Yes, now lets let her rest." Kallen said nodding, giving a tiny smileas she stroked her sisters hair. Aya also nodded and before walking away she told her, "You should rest too. And . . . I don't think we should tell Lora her dad is dead, at least . . . not yet. I'll take your place in the meeting and tell you everything later."

Kallen blinked a couple times, confused about what Aya was talking about. Seeing the confusion in her eyes Omar gave a smile and answered her unspoken quesitons, "Since our attempt failed we have to figure out something to do. So those Leaders who survived will be meeting to discuss what we can do."

"And I'll be there too," Josh said as he floated around in mid-air, touching his fist to his chest, "Oh wait . . . I'm dead. Darn It!!!"

Kallen nodded her head, understanding what the meeting Aya was talking about was for. Aya gave a smile and lifted up her notebook, "You see I take really good notes."

Then she walked over to Natalie and Cougar who had decided to take responsibility for the now alone Aya. When they were together Cougar turned and lead them to were Akima had been standing for the last few minutes with Koya. "Let's let Kallen and Lora have some time alone for now. I think they're going to need it before we move on."

"I agree. I think we might want to give Yaming some time alone as well," he noted as Yaming stood off to the side with a blood stainedmedallian in her hand, wiping away the last few tears.

The group was now with the rest of what was left, and began to walk down the opposite side of the hill. Seeing the green grass one could hardly imagine the destruction that laid on the other side. Black glanced at the book and then gave a sigh, "So why did you do with that book agian?"

"I wasn't doing that, it just happens every now and then.It happens sometimes if the 'story' is too powerful for me to control," she flipped through the book and reached the end of what it had written, "See the story ended."

Black glared at the book and then he looked at Aya in the eye, "Where did you get it? And that one just wrote a story? A story that Josh died in, one that included Catherine becoming a monster, and lets not forget Lora and Kallen's father giving his life to save us!"

"It didn't do that!" Aya said with a frown. She glanced away and then back with a bit of shame, "You see . . . I'm not very adept with my power so I can't control everything. I usually write stories ahead of time and use them when the circumstances fit."

"So you use the book as a medium to make sure your powers don't go out of control, is that right?" Destined said as he looked back from the groups discussion. He had hit the nail on the head and Darren clapped enthusiastically to show his "support"; which was becoming more fanboy by the day.

"Black!" Moka yelled out to him, with Sky following lazily behind her. She had been disorented from all of the fighting, which made her and Sky get seperated from the others as the explosion occured; luckily they had been close enough not to be harmed. Looking back Black shookhis head thinking, "Oh great, her . . ." He mentally laughed and called to her, "Yeah, I'm up here!"

Moka ran the last few feet and stood next to Black, almost excited to be this close to him. She saw the younger girl Black had been carrying on a conversation with and jealousy got the best of her. Placing her hands onm her hips she scoffed and asked coldly, "Who is she?"

Sky was aloft in the air not really paying any attention to either of them. When he saw how jealous his sister became at such a young girl, in his oppinion Moka was still nothing more than a kid herself, he laughed internally.

"Her name is Moka," Lora said as she hugged the tree she had been placed under for support, "She's a friend . . ."

As Eden and Lee finally regrouped with everybody. At last in all of the time they been here and with this group they can finally relax. Well Eden finally can in a way, As he came to the nearest stop with the group he collapsed on to the ground. "Okay lets just stay..." He paused to take a deep breath. "Stay here for a little while..." Eden said as he exhaled.

Koya overheard Eden remark about staying there and shook his head, not liking the idea one bit. Standing up in the night air he explained why, "I don't think staying in this place would be the best idea. There are too many . . . bad memories."

Koya had to choose his words carefully so he didn't upset those who had lost loved ones in the madness.

Kallen got up and helped Lora stand, "Are you sure you're alright? I could carry you again." The concern was obvious in her eyes.

Todou stood a little back from Yaming, still acting as her self appointed bodyguard. He stood with downcast eyes thinking about Pulse and how it must have hurt him to suddenly find out that he was fighting his own daughters and then have to give them up so soon after finding them again. He looked up at the sky, "Goodbye my old friend, I'm sorry that I couldn't help you as I have your daughters. Now sleep peacefully."

Akima sat on the ground with a map infront of him, he called Koya, Cougar, Natalie, Eden, Black, Moka, Sky, and Aya over. He pointed the Garethel plains on the map, "This is where I think we should meet Alamos and his troops, from there we can head to the Northern Military to ask for help. I'm not sure about the details but what do you all think?" He sat there in front of the map waiting for their opinions.

Kiria was standing in the rubble of another place, it was the city where he was born, and where he'd met Catherine. It was where he's lost his sister, and now he'd destroyed it completely, but not before ordering it's complete evacuation. He'd sent all of the people to neighboring cities. In his left hand he held Masamune, it was his most powerful weapon. In a single strike he'd obliterated the entire city. He was filled with hatred and rage, although he didn't show it to Shane and the others, he actually cared about Catherine. She had been the first person to show him any kindness, she'd helped him grow and train, she'd turned him into the massive force that he was. It had been for her that he'd joined with the Western Military, because she'd asked him to. Now he'd destroyed all that he had to return to, he didn't plan on turning back. His only goal now was to annihilate those rebels who had changed Pulse and led to Catherine's death. He collapsed to the ground and let the rage take him, he screamed as tears rolled down his face. Kiria clutched Masamune as his one wing sprouted from his back. He leapt into the air, he flew up until he was about 5 miles up. Then he dive bombed toward the ground and stabbed Masamune into the ground and released a massive burst of energy that would have rivaled Pulse's last act. Kiria stood up slowly and his wing disappeared, he pulled Masamune out of the ground and looked out over the ruins of his past. "Now I can't turn back, Catherine. I will destroy them for this, for I have nothing left to lose."

Moka let out a sigh of annoyance, she wish she could have been in on the action. But to her, that was Sky's fault for not letting her do so.

"What's his relation to her. . ? Well it doesn't matter, I can find out anyway." she thought as she looked at Aya, then to Black with a smile.

Moka's powers over pheromone would do the trick for her, but she didn't want to use it again just yet. . .

"Anyway, where's that other guy? Um. . . Destiny?" Moka said as she looked over Black's shoulder to see if she could spot him.

Sky, who had been adrift in the air for quite some time, landed near them.

"His name is Destined." he said.

Eden was lying on the ground completely worn-out. Any Energy he had left was gone by now, but once he hired his name get called he shock it off. Slowly but surly he regained some of his strength back and walked over to the others who where looking at the map. "The Northern Military? What makes them any different form the Western Military? How do we know they will help?"
