Struggle Of Powers

[Jake the Sage]

As the minions Black summons landed on Catherine they all gave out screams of pain and tried to leap off, but found themselves stuck . . . their shoes melted and then the flesh from their feet began to be eaten away. In less than a minute the entire group had been sucked into Catherine's oozing body, with only their skulls and skeletal hands reaching out.

 

In a deep tone Catherine chuckled and spit out a skull, "Tasty . . ."

 

[Blake]

"White. Red." Black said as the two shot around each side of Catherine. They knew to not get close. White did little more than put on a tin mask, and pull the shotgun off his back. Red pulled out his pistols. Both opened fire.

[Jake the Sage]

The blasts seemed to have some effect as Catherine moved around and bellowed in pain. But she then stopped and laughed, remarking on how it "tickled". She then took a deep breath and the bullets that had been shot into her flew out and struck Red and White- killing both.

 

Shane watched this and realized . . . uh . . . there was a bigger problem right about now. "Hey old man? Wanna call a truce?"

[Final Fantasy Revolution]

Alamos opened his eyes raised his left palm to the beast and cocked back his right arm back. "Bigbies Forceful Palm..." Alamos said abruptly and then pushed his right palm forward and his left palm back. A forceful blast of energy slid the beast back to where the actual base was and then turned to Koya. "What's your plan..." He asked, since Koya was the closest group leader to him.

[Jake the Sage]

Koya had said nothing since he had reached Lora, and shook his head when Alamos spoke to him. He looked over, his eyes red from the tears, "Wh-What?"

[-Genesis-]

Kiria stood, again without even a smudge on his clothes and looked at Catherine. He dispersed the Origional Buster Sword and Summoned the Six Blade Sword. Without any fear he approached her, "My Dear, you should really focus on them and not their distractions. Show them the powers we put into the serum." Then he stepped back with a smile as Catherine smirked at the supers.

Catherine leapt into the air and landed down right in front of Black, solidifying her arm to be harder than diamond she back-handed him away and then pounded the ground infront of her blasting the ground forward toward Alamos, "DIE!!!!!" She yelled before opening her mouth and releasing a screech that virtually paralyzed everyone.

 

Kallen saw what Catherine was doing below, but she couldn't help. She was stuck fighting hers and Lora's own father. "Dammit! Let go!" She released Radiant energy which flowed over her suit like wild electricity shocking Pulse making him loosen his grip. In that one moment of laxness in his muscles she pushed back off of him and then aimed her RWS at him, "Take this!" Kallen fired her arm at him grasping onto his right shoulder, she started crushing his shoulder. As she squeezed her father's shoulder she recoiled the arm pulling her toward him and she punched him in the face. She backed off and yelled to Koya, "Get Lora out of here!"

 

Akima ran up to Koya and Lora and stood in front of them preparing to use his power as a shield, "Is Lora alright?" He was afraid that because he got stuck fighting soldiers earlier he had failed to protect his friends.

 

Aya knew something was wrong because her story was now writing itself. She was reading it as it wrote and when she read what was happening at that moment she turned to Natalie and Cougar, "Please go help them! Their in grave danger!" Natalie and Cougar looked to each other with panicked looks on their faces and Cougar used his Alter Suit and Natalie used her power to run though the woods toward the fight as fast as the wind, with Cougar just behind her.

[Blake]

Black stood up, some blood pooled where his head had been. No Pheremones could calm him down now. "DIE!!!! YOU TRAITOR!!!" Black slammed his hands together and large flames shot at Catherine. He was in full bloodlust right now. Black warped around, spreading flames around Catherine, and then he warped inside the flames. "Wanna go, ugly?" He asked the beast.

Koya shook his head as Akima asked if Lora was alright. He stroked her hair and lightly touched her cheeck, "I-I don't know . . . she's not moving."

 

Being able to free herself from Pulse's grip Kallen backed off and yelled to Koya, "Get Lora out of here!"

 

"A-Alright!" he called back as he stood up, craddeling Lora in his arms. Looking around he could see a few of the remaining resistance and with a loud yell he ordered a retreat. Yaming, having snapped out of her rage and now incredibly fatigued, nodded her head and followed them as they made their attempt to escape.

 

With everyone escaping Shane gave a laugh and then decided to do the same, "I guess th' boss man wouldn't m'nd me gettin' when the gettin's good." Turning to Richard and Nic, leaving Pulse to fight his eldest daughter he ordered them to leave and they both were obligated to follow his orders.

 

"K-Kallen?" Pulse stammered as he got back up, his daughter landing near him. The echo of Catherine scream pierced the tension as he stumbled towards her, his hand outstretched to Kallen, "I-is it really . . ."

[-Genesis-]

Catherine had gained complete control of herself now, "Black, you can't kill me." As if to emphasize her point she shook her shoulders once and the flames went out. "How do you plan on killing me, when I'm more powerful than you and faster than you!" Almost too fast to see she reached out and grabbed Black in one of her giant claws and started crushing him, at the same time her hand seemed to turn into mud and be flowing all over Black's body, trying to encase him.

 

Out of nowhere Natalie appeared floating next to Catherine's hand which contained Black and using the air as a razor sharp blade, she cut the whole hand off. It hit the ground hard and Catherine screamed, but from her stump of an arm a new hand was forming, exactly like the last, then she changed her skin to be diamond hard again. Natalie used the air as a razor carefully trying to cut Black free, while ignoring Catherine as she reached toward Natalie with her other hand!

 

Suddenly Catherine was knocked back and Cougar was standing in her place, because she'd hardened her skin Cougar was able to hit her. He called back to Natalie, "Could you get him out faster?" Natalie finally got Black out of the muck that was a hand and helped Black up, "Are you alright?"

 

Kallen ignored her father's words, but screamed at him with tears in her eyes, "Traitor!" She reached out at him trying to catch his other shoulder planning to crush it as well, "I'm gonna KILL you!" Kallen no longer cared about anything except that their own father had attack, and maybe killed, Lora.

 

Kiria called over Richard and the other Death Knight, "Let's wait a bit and see what they do against Catherine before reporting back to the General." He simply sat on a pile of rubble with the Six Blade Sword on his back, watching.

[Jake the Sage]

Richard, being nearly mindless, nodded his head in agreement (thought he'd be dumb enough agree to kill himself). Both Nic and Shane didn't like the idea of sticking around, though only Shane voiced his objections. "Why should we even stay and . . . watch them die? Hmmm . . ."

 

Thinking about it for less than a half second he got a grin and sat down next to Kiria, "Guess I could enjoy a could life-or-death battle. Got Pop-Corn?"

 

When Kallen was close enough Pulse grabbed hold of her arm and drew her close to himself. Initially stunned Kallen then planed to use this close proximity to open a nice sized whole in her traitous father's stomach. Yet, over all of the noise Catherine and those who remained to fend off her attacks, she could hear crying. At first she couldn't imagine who it was, but the feel of a tear drop hitting her shoulder made Kallen guess the only answer- it was her father weeping. "Kallen . . . I am so . . . so sorry . . ."

[Blake]

"Thanks... I couldn't warp out." He glared at 'Catherine' "Something is off..." He stood up on his own, without Natalie holding him up. "She's too strong. Fire, Weapons, and who knows what else aren't wotking." Black set his chin on his hand. "I have tried my arsenal except for Telekinesis." HE turned to Natalie "Do you know what to do?"

[-Genesis-]

Natalie nodded, "Yes, the only thing we can do is run or evade her." She looked away from Black, "Back when Cougar and I were prisoners of the Northern Military we found out that they were trying to combine the genetic code of supers into a single form that would make an unstoppable super, they were trying to copy an idea that Western Military, this military, was working on, but the North didn't have Dr. Wright, who we know as Catherine. She was the expert who had started the project and now were facing the result of her work. But we're lucky, I can tell that from the way he body is that the Serum is unfinished, and imperfect. That state is only temporary and when it ends she'll probably die."

 

Kallen was also crying but for a different reason, "Let go of me, you lied to me! Tricked me! I thought you died when we tried to escape! And now I find out that you're alive... After you just struck down Lora! And you want me to forgive you!" Kallen pulled away from him, "I'll give you one chance, I won't kill you, now get away." Kallen turned and flew down to Koya and Akima, who were with Lora.

[Blake]

"Hmm.... in that case!" Black whipped out his book. he summoned 100 of the little black Humanoids. "Stall her!" He commanded them, and he sat "That's it. That's all I have in me. We can only stall her." Black said as he faded in and out of conciousness. The hit had taken a heavy toll on him.

[Jake the Sage]

Pulse watched as his daughter bounded down the hills and after her sister, and friends. What had he done? Though under some form of manipulation he had still been too weak to prevent himself from harming those he had onced promise to protect. A long sigh and memories began to float back to him in the river of his counciousness . . .

 

The sounds of gunfire at the base. He had sent his oldest daughter to the base and asked an old friend to pretend her father, because it was too dangerous for him to enter the military, with his wife about to have their second child. The sound of her screaming, the frantic heartbeat as they tried to escape with their new born baby. Hiding, fearing for their lives, he wondered if his old friend could escape with Kallen; later news would reveal he was killed, and he thought surely that Kallen had been killed as well. In a vain attempt he enlisted to try and find his lost daughter, but wound up becoming a mindless soldier. He knew back then he would try to protect them with his life, and this time he also knew . . . knew that this time he would guarantee his daughters' saftey.

 

Standing up he walked over towards Catherine, summoning his power as he did. Holding his crushed shoulder he stood beneath the monstrosity that he had once worked under, "Catherine!"

[-Genesis-]

Kallen got to Koya and Akima, "Is Lora's heart beating?" She looked at them with a look of total despiration. *Please tell me that she's alright, I can restart her heart if necessary, but...*

 

Catherine smirked and screeched at Pulse, the sound waves strong enough to knock him off his feet. Then she walked toward him, "Pulse, you can't beat me, you can't kill me, and you can't stop me."

 

Cougar caught Black as he collapsed, "I'll take him back to Aya, I want you to head there too. Once I drop him off I'll come back to help." Natalie nodded as Cougar sped off to the hill where Aya was watching with anticipation, with Natalie not far behind.

 

Kiria looked at Shane, "Why do you hate me so much is it because we're alike in our independence, are you jealous of my power and wish to surpass me, or is it something else?" He waited for an answer while watching the spectacle infront of him.

[Jake the Sage]

Shane was eating the popcorn fast as Pulse was knocked back by Catherine's screech. When Kiria spoke he had mistaken it for him wanting some, so he moved the popcorn over to Kiria. Once he had slapped the food out o fhis way Shane looked over and Kiria repeated himself. Shrugging his shoulder he gave an answer, "I don't know why I hate you . . . maybe I just hate to hate."

 

"Pulse, you can't beat me, you can't kill me, and you can't stop me." Catherine mocked as she walked towards him. Catherine's screech had been strong enough to knock him off his feet. He struggled to get to his feet, pieces of armor falling off as he used his one good arm. Standing up he gave a smile and sighed, "You have it wrong monster . . . you can't beat ME!"

 

Giving a scream of pain Pulse snapped his broken arm into place as his aura swirled and sliced the air around him. His hair flowed as if weightless and gthe ground began to shake.

 

Kallen had managed to get to Koya and Akima as Pulse was knocked back by Catherine, "Is Lora's heart beating?"

 

She was looking at both of them in total despiration. Akima gave a sigh and Koya didn't look her in the eye. The fear began to build until Koya glanced over and she could see he was smiling, "She's alright, she just got knocked out."

[-Genesis-]

Kiria looked back at the fight, "Well as long as you don't let your hatred of me get in the way of our objective, you can hate me all you want." He took the Six Blade Sword off his back and layed it on his lap and started polishing it. *I hope this ends soon.*

 

Catherine's grin disappeared as she realized what Pulse was planning to do and she hardened her entire body to be harder than diamond, "Pulse are you sure you want to do that with your daughters so close?"

 

Kallen was relieved, "Alright can I take her?" She reached out her arms to Koya so she could carry Lora. "Please?" Her voice was small and gentle.

occ< hmm he killed me lol{in hell} "WOW this is differnt" josh said as he looked around. "wait im a good guy whay am i here." Then light Aura surrounded josh and the view changed once again.

Koya was afraid to let her go, though he wouldn't say it out loud he had grown very attatched to her, but knew Kallen was family and gently handed her over. As Lora changed hands she gave a small groan and then calmly exhaled as she rubbed her face into Kallen's shoulder.

 

"At least she isn't in any pain," Akima commented as Lora began to breath easily again, "I say its about time we get out of this hell hole."

 

"I agree!"

 

"Pulse are you sure you want to do that with your daughters so close?" Catherine asked as her body became harder than diamonds. Glancing back in time to see Koya handing his youngest to Kallen, his heart satified that they were finally together again, he returned his gaze to his enemy.

 

"Yes." no matter what he would not allow anything, even himself, to harm his daughters. Releasing more energy Catherine could feel the pressure in the surrounding area rise. She knew Pulse, as a Death Knight, had no chance of beating her. But Pulse, as a father defending his children, he had more than enough . . .

 

"Kallen! Koya!" Todou and Lt Tyler yelled from a distance with the rest of the group.

Josh was suuddnly back and could see the battle rageing but when he tryed to attack , he relise that he couldn't do any thing he was a spirit stuck on the plane of the living.

 

" well this sucks,.....im mean why sent me back if i cant do any thing" josh yelled you in to the hevans

[Blake]

Black faded back into consciousness and he saw Aya. HE sat up "Ugh... My head hurts" He groaned as he rubbed his head. He aked Aya "Where are we now?" Not knowing if the fighting had continued.

[-Genesis-]

Catherine screamed in rage before charging at Pulse, *If I can kill him before he builds enough energy, then I won't die when he releases the energy.* She was close, she reared back and slammed both of her arms to the ground where Pulse was standing.

 

Aya sat still mezmerized as her notebook and pencil floated in mid-air and wrote the story automatically, but she answered him while still watching her things, "We're on top of a hill not far from the base, Natalie and Cougar are standing a little behind us watching the fight."

 

Kallen ran at top speed toward the hill with Lora in her arms and Koya and Akima following behind her. She cradled Lora to her chest and started crying. Kallen whispered to Lora, "I'm so sorry Lora, I'm so sorry that you had to meet him like that. I should have protected you, even from him." She continued to cry as she got closer to the hill.

 

Akima heard Kallen and turned to Koya as they followed, "Do you think she'll be alright?" He looked worried and hoped that Koya knew which of them he was referring to.

[Blake]

Black shot up "What?! I've gotta help!" Then he saw the book. "Are you doing that?" He asked, and, feeling weak, he sat down. He stared, mesmerized. "This bodes ill. WHY is it doing that?!" HE snapped to no one, but expected an answer from Aya.

[The D.M.]

Dark appeared behind Black he had been following him for some time. He could'nt comprehend what was going on "What's happening here?" he asked his head was full of questions Why had he been transported to this world? Why couldnt he summon monsters? and Where were Raiden and Sapphire?

" how is this guy?" josh said but no one could hear him. " i guss im still stuck hanging around."
