Both nodded without saying anything and went down the opening. Down in the dark tunnel the dripping of water could be heard and the place smelt of mildew and earth.

 

"Some hideout."

"Keh, it has to look like it's just a common cave you dumb ass. This area used to have caverns running under it so if it's ever discovered no one would think much of it!" The second in command said as they came to the end of the tunnel. He turned to the right and put his hand up to a panel that looked just like an ordinary rock. Suddenly the rocks separated and tumbled to the side to reveal a compound that was actually nicer than the first one they we're in...

Akima walked inside and gave a long sigh as he breathed in, "Finally! Fresh air!"

 

Koya gave a laugh as he walked inside, "At least I don't have to smell Akima's BO anymore," then he turned to the second in command, "So where is this army? Kallen and the rest should almsot be at the Western Military by now. We need to hurry."

[Final Fantasy Revolution]

"We're all set actually." Alamos said, coming out of the strategy room with about thirty men with him. "I have thirty men stationed around the western military base in hiding, waiting for me to join them with these thirty more men. That'll be thirty of us pushing at the western gate, led by me; and thirty of us led by my second in command and charging for the main gate." Alamos explained. "W-what! I thought the first command was gonna do it!?" The second protested. "He's...busy right now, that's all I can say about it." Alamos said, turning back to Akima and Koya. "Are you ready?"

Akima and Koya nodded, but then looked at each other as if they had agreed too soon. Koya cleared his throat and looked seriously at Alamos, "I should warn you . . . we had a spy in our midst. Catherine was working for the Western Army. And now they might now of your plans."

 

"We'll have to expect the worse." Akima added in.

he was growng impatint. he just wonted this night to be over.

Catherine shook her head at Shane, "No actually this is quite a lot of data it's just that it isn't exactly what we wanted. We were after a more advanced upgraded version, but the creator never put the data on a disk of any kind he seems to have kept it all in his head. But we can work with this, we'll upgrade it ourselves." The door opened behind them and Kiria walked in followed by Andrew, "Here he is Catherine, anything else?" She smiled, "No nothing go report to the General if you haven't already made him mad." Kiria turned and went to leave, but froze. After a moment he disappeared.

 

Kallen was just outside the lab trying to find a way in when Kiria appeared behind her, "Well, well, well, what do we have here? An intruder?" Then he recognized her, "Ah! You're that rogue, Kallen Stadtfeld!" He stepped toward her, "I wonder whet the General will say when he hears that you're back." Kallen was backing away, she knew who Kiria was and she knew that it would take a lot more than one person to take him down, "Kiria, why are you here I thought that you left the military for personal reasons?" He smiled, "I did, but now I'm back for other reasons, specifically the fact that manipulating people and turning them against one another is much more fun when it can result in massive chaos and destruction." Kallen stopped and took a defensive stance, "I don't want to fight you, but I wil if I have to." Kiria raised his left hand and his sword hilt appeared followed by the blade, "I know that you don't... because you can't win." He smirked at Kallen and took another step forward, "So what are you going to do?" He stood there completely calm, it was unnerving for Kallen. She leapt at him with her right arm first, and in a swift graceful movement he sidestepped her and swung his blade at her back, she spun and stopped the blade with a barrier-blast from her RWS.......and then there was an explosion which engulfed them both right in the middle of the Western Military Base. From the smoke Kallen leaped backwards out and landed a few feet away and watched. As the smoke cleared Kiria was standing there without a scratch, completely unscathed. "Really Kallen, is that the best you can do?" As soldiers appeared from the barracks Kiria spoke, "Don't interfere she's mine!"

(Back at the Base)

Akima turned to Koya, "Wait, can you get to the group we need Natalie, Cougar, and Destined to go in through the sewers to attack from the inside! Send everyone else back here after they get Kallen we need to regroup and prepare for another assault." Akima then turned to Alamos, "Can you call your men back I think that with whatever information Kallen gets from inside we can use to edit our plan!" Akima hoped that they'd listen to him because if not then what ever fight Kallen started would make the military's forces too prepared by the time everyone else got there.

[Blake]

Black stood silently, listening, before turning to the group "I agree with Josh. We need a plan. Now."

[-Genesis-]

Akima shook his head, "You don't seem to understand! With their forces already at arms then our friends won't stand a chance! We need the element of surprise to pull this off otherwise their supers will couter ours and we'll only lose ground until they discover this base! Do you want that!" Akima was enraged that no one seemed to understand the mistake they were making.

 

Catherine called Andrew over and showed him the data on the RWS, "This is the data we were able to get, unfortunately it's only the version that Kallen used against you in the forest. It seems that Todou decided to keep the newest upgrade inside his head. I was thinking that we could upgrade this ourselves to compete... what was that?" She had heard the explosion, "Shane could you go find out what that was? I'll be safe here with Andrew, just find out and come back."

 

Kiria ordered that no one interefere with his fight with Kallen and the soldiers obeyed. Kiria stepped out of the charred space on the ground, "Hmph, looks like I'll have some more time to play with you, that is unless you want to escape, in which case you need to get through me." Kallen glared and knew that he was right, *Dammit! My only option is to fight him!* She swung out at him with her right arms claws and he blocked her. She tired again and again and he continued to block her with ease, "Come now Kallen surely that's not all that you can do?" As he blocked a strike aimed for his face with the palm of her hand pointing at him in close range he saw the centerpiece of her palm glow. He leapt to the side as Kallen fired a normal wave of energy. "Well if that's all that you can do then you might as well surrender now." Kiria raised his sword and waited for Kallen to make another move. She raised her arm at him again but this time fired the arm itself, which he dodged. It hit the far wall and anchored itself there and recoiled, Kallen smirked, Kiria had just fallen for her trick, she in one move she made him decide whether they'ed keep fighting or if she'd escape. As he wizzed by him toward the wall he jumped from the ground toward the wall and was flying just behind her, "You won't escape that easily!" Kallen noticed that the guard on the walls had been doubled, as soon as Kiria had seen her he'd doubled the guard, before he'd ever known who she was. *What's with this guy! What can't he do!*

Koya shook his head as Akima spoke. "I don't think we have any time left to make a plan. Catherine has who knows what information on us. If we don't strike now we could end up lambs for the slaughter."

 

Alamos agrees with this and, even though he did not want to admit it, Akima knew that was a real possability. They didn't know anything of what Catherine took from them and if it could be used by the General to defeat them. Koya stepped forward and looked at them both, "So lets go . . . I'm afraid there might not be much time left."

 

Alamos agrees and sent the message out to gthe thirty men waiting near the Western Military Base, while moving out the thirty men he had with him. The small garrison left as fast as they could and speed across the desert so fast if you blinked you'd miss them. While travelling Koya glanced at Akima nerviously and then asked, "Do you think we'll get there in time?"

 

"So you only got a bit of the data?" Shane said asked while looking over the specs. Catherine shook her head at Shane, how simple minded he was, "No actually this is quite a lot of data it's just that it isn't exactly what we wanted. Andrew pushed his glasses up and looked through the specs of the Radiant Wave Surger. With a grin he sat down and began to delve into the blue prints. "Simply amazing . . . you've done well Catherine. The General will be pleased."

 

"Yaming, should we be following Kallen? She can handle herself, I think we should be meeting up with Alamos and his people." Todou asked as he used his leg repulsors to keep up with everyone.

 

"I believe Koya and Akima will meet up with Alamos and his men. We are going to make sure Kallen is alright," as they bounded over roof to roof she spotted Lora and Aya," Hey! Lora! Aya! You two are coming with us!"

 

"Alright! Ready Aya?" Lora said and gave a smile. Giving her head a light nod Lora picked Aya up and then followed Yaming as she dragged Raiden with them. Glancing down at Aya she gave a small laugh, "Don't worry Aya . . . we'll make sure the Western Military will fall."

 

The group continued to follow Kallen's trail until a large building rose from the horizon, directly in front of the setting sun, Lora squinted her eyes and called out, "Is that it?"

With each step forward Kallen made an equal step back, she knew who Kiria was and she knew that it would take a lot more than one person to take him down. "I wonder what the General will say when he hears that you're back . . ."

With a smirk he took another step forward as if to mock and provok his former ally all at the same instant, "So what are you going to do?"

 

He stood there completely calm, completely unnerving Kallen. Not being able to stand the stagnentsy of the situation anymore she leapt at him with her right arm first, in a swift graceful movement he sidestepped her and swung his blade at her back. Seeing the blade out of the corner of her eye Kallen spun all the way around and stopped the blade with a barrier-blast from her Radiant Wave Surger. An explosion erupted that engulfed them both right in the middle of the Western Military Base.

 

"This is the place," Todou said as everyone hunkered down in a small rift not too far away- yet still out of range from the sensors, "But i don't like this feeling I'm getting . . ."

 

"Me either," Lora agreed as she shivered, "Its like theres something in the air that makes the hairs on my arm stand on end."

 

And it wasn't just Lora or Todou, everyone in the group was on edge- feeling the same overbearing pressure one would expect before an attack on an enemy stronghold. Yet this presense was more than any of them could have imagined. Growing more impatient by the second Josh glanced back at everyone, "Then lets get going with the plan before they desied to do anything!"

 

"I agree with Josh. We need to do something- Now!" Black stated as something in the back ground knocked everyone down. It was felt long before it was ever heard. A pressure that knocked everyone down and disoriented them for exactly ten seconds before the sound rippled through the land, a giant 'bang'. Looking at the source of the commotion they could see a giant explosion rip through the middle of the base and the sound of sirens blarring through the crashing concrete and snapping of metal. Yaming stood up and yelled over the background noise, "I guess thats our cue if I ever saw one- ATTACK!!!"

 

No one waited for a second order and leapt out of the ditch, racing to the Western Military Base. The battle had now begun . . .

 

Coughing from the smoke Kallen leaped backwards and landed a few feet away. She tried to clear her eyes from the smoke and debree that had lodged itself in her eyes when the explosion happened, watching for any signs of motion. As the smoke cleared Kiria stood there without a scratch, completely unscathed, "Really Kallen? Is that the best you can do?"

 

"What the hell was that!?" Catherine cried out as the explosion shook the lab. Shane either didn't notice it or didn't care as he simply picked at ear wax. "Shane could you go find out what that was? I'll be safe here with Andrew, just find out and come back."

 

"Do I have to?" Shane complained and then, after a glare from Andrew, gave a loud sigh and leapt to his feet, "Don't do anything 'naughty' while the adult is gone now kiddies . . ." With a smirk he vanished in a flash of light.

 

The sirens blarred while the two stood amoungst the warpped steel beams and cracked walls. Western Soldiers crawled out of everywhere and surrounded Kallen, pointing advanced weapons unyil Kiria spoke, "Don't interfere she's mine!"

 

Kallen glared at Kiria as the soldiers stepped back and then set their weapons down, but not dropping them in case they were needed. "Hmph, looks like I'll have some more time to play with you, that is unless you want to escape, in which case you need to get through me."

Kiria was almost to Kallen's ankle, nearly grasping at it when a suddent suprise sent him flying backwards. More explosions erupted all around Kallen, but not at her. Someone slammed into her and then she found herself being held near the ground. Peeking with one eye, afraid of whom had just sent this onslaught, she say that it was Todou's arm she was being carried in. "You ok Kallen?"

 

To her shock most of the people had somehow managed to push their way pass the Western's outside forces and made it into the inner regions. Looking around she learned the answer- they weren't alone! She could count ten . . . twenty . . . no thirty other supers she had never seen before helping them! Each of the thirty unknown supers wore a special emblem that contained an 'N&R'. Lora ran at Kallen and grabbed around her waist, burrying her face in Kallen's stomach, "I thought you wouldn't leave me again! You could have waited . . ."

 

"That was . . . unforeseen," Kiria said as he got to his feet and spit out a bit of blood, "Who attacked me!?"

 

Lora glared at the man, not knowing who he was or the reputation he had. She stepped forward and pointed at herself, "I did! And if you want more then come and get it! I wont let you hurt my sister!!!"

 

Kiria's anger was stopped whensomeone began to laugh . . . in another flash of bright light Shane appeared and it was he who had been laughing. He patted his old mentor on the shoulder and then smirked at him, "Looks like a little girlie got the better of you old man. NOw thats rich . . ."

Alamos' group was getting closer to the Western Military Base, they could actually see it now and were still going at incredible speeds. "Betsiu..." Alamos said to his second, finally revealing his name to anyone who didn't know. "Go ahead of us and support the other group." Alamos commanded Betsiu to go. "Sir!" Betsiu said obediently before turning into sand and fading in with the deserts landscape. "We're almost there comrades, keep running!" He said as he leaded the group faster and faster to the base....

As the group led by Alamos continued to make head way a figure watched them and then desided to make a move. Landing in front of them the earth shook, stopping everyone in their tracks.

 

"I am afraid this is were your journey ends." he said through his mask.

"Who are you?" Black snapped, hands behind his back, in his trenchcoat. He was holding his sword and gun, debating which to use.

Kiria smirked, "Shane if I remember properly you were almost killed in a sneak attack once while in this instance I was simply caught off guard." He brushed himself off and pulled his sword out of the ground, "I don't care who you take, but those two girls are mine!" He gestured to the supers and soldiers behind him, "You may attack any and all of them except these two," He pointed to Lora and Kallen then turned to Shane and held out his hand, "Would you like to team up with you're old mentor?" Not waiting for a response Kiria leapt at Todou and swung his sword at Todou's head. In order to dodge the attack he let go of Kallen who landed on the ground below, "Dammit! Kallen, Lora, I'm not going to be ble to help against them! I'll go help the others so that Yaming, Destined, or one of the others can help you!" Todou backed off but felt bad that he couldn't help Kallen and Lora, so instead he went to free one of the others from fighting.

 

Kiria was now standing on the top of the wall looking down on Kallen and Lora. Kallen spoke to Lora, "Well all we can do now is survive until Todou can get some help." Kallen turned to look at Kiria and whispered to Lora, "Lora don't fight Kiria no matter what. Please I don't want to lose you and if you fight him you're sure to die. I was trained in one of his ways of fighting so I'll be able to defend against him until help arrives."

 

Kiria watched as Kallen whispered to Lora, "Well shall we get on with this?" He jumped down infront of them, "Well if you won't attack me, then I'll attack you!" He leapt at Thema and Kallen, predicting his moves, blocked his sword and flipped into the air trying to bring her claw down onto his head. Kiria sidestepped Kallen making it so that she landed down on her knees she struck out at him with her leg and again he dodged. They attacked and blocked each other repeatedly, Kallen making sure that Kiria never got near Lora, then Kallen made one bad move as she leapt forward at him, Kiria blocked her and back-handed her to the gound. He then backed off a step and thrust his sword through her chest pinning her to the ground. Kiria smirked, "Well looks like it's over." Kallen spit up blood and grabbed onto the sword, but her hand fel to the ground, she was already losing energy. She's need Yaming to heal her if she was going to survive.

 

Catherine whirled on Andrew do you think you could transform your arm according to these skematics I have the energy source you'll need, but either way you'll have to improvise some upgrades on your own." She pulled out a container and showed it to him, "It's called sakuraudite, but be careful this is it's liquid form, and also it's most volitile form, and you don't want it to explode inside your arm because the explosive force would be strong enough to take out your entire body!"

 

She brought up the skematics on the screen for Andrew to mimic in his arm. Taking the container of sakuradite and examining the blue prints he injected his still flesh and bone arm with it. As the arm swelled and began to tear, blood oozing out of the over extended skin, he gave a smile (the first time Catherine herself could recall him showing any emotion) and changed his arm into almost an exact replica of the upgraded Radiant Wave Surger. The weapon was fully charged with the sakuradite and then Andrew changed it back to his normal hand, which glowed for a moment and then even the color returned to normal. Glancing at Catherine he smirked, "Assimilation . . . complete."

He leapt at both of them and Kallen, predicting his moves, blocked his sword while flipping into the air; trying to bring her claw down onto his head. Kiria sidestepped Kallen so that she landed down on her knees instead. She struck out at him with her leg and again he dodged.

 

Like an unknown form of dance they would lash out at each other and then parry, moving within half an inch of each other before being pushed back by the force of an impact. Kallen made sure that Kiria never got near Lora, though she constantly tried to invertine herself, and then Kallen made one bad move as she leapt forward at him . . .

 

Kiria blocked her and back-handed her to the gound. He then backed off a step and thrust his sword through her chest pinning her to the ground. Kiria smirked, "Well looks like it's over."

 

Kallen spit up blood and grabbed onto the sword, but her hand fel to the ground, she was already losing energy. She's need Yaming to heal her if she was going to survive. Seeing Kallen stabbed through the chest Lora charged at Kiria in a blind rage. However before she ever reached him Kiria was thrown into the air and then sent flying into the distance. Skidding to a hault and falling beside Kallen Lora say that it was Kiria's own ally- Shane!! Walking over to Lora and Kallen he motioned at the surrounding and Lora could see the guards all impaled on rock pillars. She looked away almost imediately as Shane knelt down next to Kallen, "Like my work?"

 

"No! And why are you attacking your own people?"

 

Shane waved his hand as the moisture in the air gathered, then he placed it over Kallen's wound; all this, of course, after yanking the blade out of Kallen's chest. "Why am I helping my enemy? Well that is a simple answer . . . I don't like Kiria."

 

"Is that all?" Lora asked as kallen gasped in pain, "Are you healing her?"

 

"No- I'm melting her skin back together with hot lava so she won't blled to death so quickly . . . of course I'm healing her! And yeah . . . its actually that simple."

 

In a matter of moments Kallen's fatal wound had been sealed up and she could sit up straight, though she was quickly knocked back down when Lora hugged her. An explosion in the background made the area shake and they could see smoke billowing up- the battle was raging out of control!

 

"Oh man . . . what the hell just happened?" Darren asked as they stood up in the middle of a crator. Kyba shook his head, his metal covering nearly incenerated.

 

"I think I remember . . ."

 

"Who are you?"

 

"I am the third Death Knight- Pulse!" the man said as the mask hissed.

 

"I don't know what you have planned- but this is not where are journey is going to end! It only ends when the general lays dead at our feet!" Josh yelled as he pulled out his blade.

 

"Oh yeah . . ." Darren answered as he looked around at everyone. Josh had been knocked back and Black was no where to be seen. Metal footsteps could be heard through the smoke and both thought it was the boss, come to their rescue. Running towards the sound they ran into Pulse as he looked down on them, his eyes glowing.

 

"Worst . . . day . . ."

 

"Ever . . ."

Black appeared behind Pulse "Killing these two is my job!" He slammed the side of his fist into Pulse's mask and warped away, to about 10 Feet from Pulse. He whipped out his gun, and fired a shot, hoping to at least stall the man "Take that!" He laughed. "Like I said, these two are, for now, under my protection." Black held his hand on his sword and stood prepared. "Run now." He said without looking at Kyba or Darren. "Or today will be the day you die." He laughed with bloodlust.

As Black laughed a jolt of pain coursed through his body and then he could feel it travel through him, and then out. The sound of a bullet hitting the ground made him realize what had happened- he had been shot!

 

"A gun, seriously?" Pulse asked as he used his powers to take the gun away and dismantle it.

[Blake]

"Grrr.... what are you?!" He snapped and turned to see Darren and Kyba "New Plan! HELP ME! If we don't take him out, Destined will die eventually!" He turned back to Pulse and faded, appearing bewhind him, swinging his sword. He hoped it would hit for all he was worth. He thought

Kallen tried to stand, but fell back down, "Dammit," She pulled Lora down to whisper in her ear, "Lora don't trust him, they just want me back alive so that they can use me." Then she saw Kiria stand up again, and again he was unscathed, "Shane, are you choosing them over the Western Military? Because if you are then I'll have to kill you, and we both know that you can't beat me alone, much less kill me." Kiria called over a group of soldiers, "Go inform the General that Shane has decided to side with our enemies." The soldiers nodded and were off before Shane could stop them. Kiria turned back to Shane, "Well what's next, you've turned traitor like Ms. Stadtfeld here, are you going to try and kill the General now?" Kiria's sword disappeared, "Shane I'm going to give you one last chance... Are you sure you want to side with them?"

The soldiers that Kiria had ordered to inform the General that Shane had protected their enemies arrived outside the General's command post, "Sir we have an urgent message from Kiria! Shane protected and healed our enemies!"

 

Catherine turned to Andrew, "You must be careful not to put too much pressure on the sakuraudite. Now go help the soldiers!"

[Jake the Sage]

Andrew heard Catherine give her orders and she saw the furry long after he slapped her with such force that she flew into the computers, damaging them, "You are not the one in charge here!"

 

The door opened and all of the soldiers were shot dead on the spot. Walking out of the room Destined smiled, "Sorry . . . he's not in at the moment. Can I take a message?"

 

The General has abandoned his men!? Where could the leader of the Western Army have disappeared too?

 

"Shane I'm going to give you one last chance... Are you sure you want to side with them?" Kiria asked as his sword disappeared. Shane thought about it for not even a second and got in a defensive stance.

 

"You have been out of the loop for a long time old man, there are secret orders from the General that even you don't know of," Shane looked back at Kallen who had warned Lora not to trust him, "Plus! I just don't like you . . ."

 

Lora bent down next to Kallen and whispered, "Are you sure? Seems like he has a personal grudge against Kiria . . ."

 

"This guy," Black thought as his sword shattered against Pulse, "What is he?!"

 

"That . . . was annoying." Pulse said as pieces of the sword stuck in his armor. Kyba slammed his fist into Pulse's chest and hard enough to make him go flying.

 

"You ok?" Darren asked concerned.

[Blake]

"Thanks. We have to move... We can't take this guy." Black said, holding his bleeding Arm. He panted hard "This guy is different from our other enemies." HE pulled out a bandage and applied it to his arm. When the bandage was on, he pulled out his book and Began to Write. Red and White appeared. "You two.... fight him *Pant*" Black said turning to leave "Come on." He said to Kyba and Darren.

Pulse was flying back at an incredible speed when Red and White tackled him to the ground. The sounds of bone smashing was grueling while the three made their escape.

 

After some time, and a few dead soldiers later, they sound themselves hearing Yaming's voice ordering people around and saw Josh's blade go through an enemy.

 

"Are we close to the General's office Todou!?"

[Blake]

Red Got up First "DIE!" He yelled, moving his gun at Pulse, and pulled the trigger. White on the other hand, jumped up and pulled out his sword, prepared to fight. He said nothing for he had no thoughts. Red Laughed as he heard the explosion from the gun.

 

Black ran, rather than warped, because he was wounded "Vome on!" He yelled to the duo of Ex-Western soldiers.

Pulse moved his hand and drew White in front of him, killing him with Red's bullet. Letting the body vanish into thin air he vanished and Red was quickly killed, "Those fools think they can escape!?"

 

Kyba and Darren nodded as they got closer to Yaming and Josh's group.
