Struggle Of Powers

[Jake the Sage]

Yaming was amazed and asked how he did that, while making the rock float back to her hand. "I don't even know how my own powers work . . ." she admitted with some emberassment.

[Tempest Dahlia]

"Magic," Destined said simply, not going into the horrible details...

"You'll find out someday. Let me help you..." He had a sincere smile on his face and turned from her slightly so she wouldn't see his eyes due to the shadowing from his hat. His eyes were even more red than usual, almost... Glowing...!

[Jake the Sage]

Yaming gave a nervious laugh as Destined's eyes glowed red. "Uh . . . I think I'm fine. I may not know how I do it . . . but I think I've masterd whatever my power is . . ."

[Tempest Dahlia]

"But you hardly even know what your powers are!" Destined said, his eyes returning. "I won't bite. It's for both our benefits, actually."

[Jake the Sage]

Yaming gave a sigh and had to admit that Destined was right. So she decided to go along with what he had planned, hoping she was strong enough to break away from whatever malicious intent he had planned. "Alright, what do you need me to do?"

[Tempest Dahlia]

"Nothing yet. All in due time..." He said, standing up.

"I'm going to sleep (LITERALLY). I'll let you know soon..."

And just like that, he vanished, leaving a trace of violet smoke behind.

Yaming gave a huff as Destined vanished. She then remembered something and yelled at the night sky, "Destined!!! You never let me ask a quesiton!!!!"

Josh had been watching their talk from a distants and got a little nervus when the whole red eye thing started to happen.So he made his way over ,then said" He truely thinks that after this he will be able to kill us, But i think he's warming up to us. Why do i think this... well for starters, he was talking too you.Then offered to show you something of his own magic."

Shihan saw all the commotion and walked ovr to where the others were. "I'm very bored, and I figure I may as well join you guys. I'm Shihan. And you are?"

<*falls over and stabs random citizen* Come on Kira . . . a little more creativity please?>

 

Yaming nodded her head and smiled, maybe Josh was right. Before Destined had only made grunts or rude comments to everyone else, never seriously carrying on a conversation before; much less showing some "compassion" and offering to teach someone. Maybe he would change his ways . . . maybe . . .

 

With the commotion of last night over the morning sunlight danced amoungst the threes as the shadows played tricks with the city walls, becoming figures and shapes that one could sometimes recognize. The birds chirpped loudly as the dew soaked into some of the group's clothing and the cold wind blew their hair right and then left. Getting up with a yawn Koya looked around and found he wasn't the first one up . . .

[-Genesis-]

Kallen walked over and kneeled next to Lora, "Hey what do you think we should do when this is all over? I mean we can't just live normal lives with the world fearing and wanting to control us." She lifted her new upgraded RWS, not just looking at it but thinking about what she would do with it one day.

 

Then Todou appeared out of nowhere (Not literally, he has no powers) walking toward Yaming and put his hand on her shoulder to get her attention. "Yaming, I've been thinking, what would you like me to do? I mean I'm not of much use at all, except for working with technology I'm not very useful... and Kallen can lead you all through the Eastern Military Base."

 

(Off to the Side)

Catherine was sitting across from Aya who had her notepad out and was writing, "So have you finished the plot yet? We need it soon, if they're going to fight we're going to need that data and get it to HIM." Aya had an unhappy look on her face and was still writing, but very slowly. She was thinking about when she'd seen the General get angry and hurt the man who was now with these people who called him Destined.

 

Catherine walked a bit off from Aya and pulled out a cell phone and made a call to the General, "Sorry to bother you sir, but do you have a way of contacting Destined? I need to talk to him in private, but I can't approach him infront of all these other supers."

 

While Catherine was talking to the General Aya had stopped writing completely. *Why does Catherine need me to get something from Mr. Todou? And why doesn't she want anyone to know about my power? Is she using me? Is HE? Please don't let it be true, I know I'll ask Lora what she thinks, but right now I have to finish this story.* Aya was now determined to know the truth and went back to writing.

 

Cougar was asleep lying under a tree when Natalie woke up in his arms. She stood up and covered him in a blanket, *He's been so overbearing since that issue with Lucifer. I still like Lucifer I just think he needs to learn some self control.* Natalie turned away from Cougar's sleeping form and walked off to see if she could find Destined and Lucifer.

Lora gave a long stretch and scratched the back of her head as Kallen asked what they would do after the war was over. Lora thought for a moment and then smiled at Kallen, "Well for one thing I'm going to find my dad. Then we are going to go back home," Lora looked down and then back at Kallen, "You can come with us if you want. I'm sure dad won't mind."

 

Lora stood up and fixed her hair, renewed with excitement about the idea of Kallen and everyone else living with them- like a very big, very unusual, family. She then saw Aya writting in her book, all alone, and walked over to her. Aya never noticed Lora sit down next to her as she was completely lost in thoughts about the General, and the unsetteling feeling she was being used. "Why does Catherine need me to get something from Mr. Todou? And why doesn't she want anyone to know about my power? Is she using me . . . Is HE? Please don't let it be true . . .". Sitting down quietly next to her Lora leaned over and read the first few lines, "You're a writter?"

 

While Lora was about to confront Aya, Todou was begining to question his position in the group. He had no powers, and thus was useless in a fight, and could only work on mechanical things. He went to Yaming to try and get some answers, "Yaming, I've been thinking, what would you like me to do? I mean I'm not of much use at all, except for working with technology I'm not very useful . . . and Kallen can lead you all through the Wesnter Military Base."

 

Yaming gave Todou a smile and patted him on the shoulder. Getting up she looked him in the eye with that too charming of a smile and gave him his answer, "You don't have to have a reason to stay with the people you care about. Kallen enjoys your company, and I am sure you enjoy hers. If you think you aren't doing any good here then you're wrong- you make Kallen happy and that is enough for us."

 

Catherine had walked away from Aya and pulled out a tranciever and made a call to the General, "Sorry to bother you sir, but do you have a way of contacting Destined? I need to talk to him in private, but I can't approach him infront of all these other supers."

 

"What!?" was the first and loudest thing from the other end, "You mean Destined is still alive!? He was supposed to be terminated a long time ago."

 

Within the Western Military base the General was begining to sweat bullets as he paced back and forth in his office, Andrew watching from a chair. Destined was alive!? How? He had been sent to the most remove part of the planet, where not even the plants could survive. Had he survived the 'exicution' by the soldiers he wouldn't of been able to go anywhere quick enough to escape dying by natural causes. And yet . . . his ears heard right when Catherine said he was still alive- this deeply troubled him until Andrew spoke his opinion.

 

"Sir, If I may be so bold. Perhaps Destined's survival is still not to be made advantage off."

 

The General whirrled around and his face grew red with anger, "Taken advantage off!? He could reveal secrets! Plans! Everything can be ruined!!!!" he slumped down into his chair and gave a long sigh. Years of planning could be ruined by one simple supers . . .

 

"Sir, Destined has no knowledge of any other activities other than his own; we had done a memory scan on him before sending him to his . . . ahem . . . 'death'. But now that he is with the other supers, and in Catherine and Aya's close observation, we can keep track of him. And surely he holds a grudge against you for trying to kill him."

 

The General have a chuckle and nodded his head, "That I have no doubt Andrew. But how is that an advantage?"

 

"He will come here to get his revenge. Our new secret 'weapons' are nearly complete . . . we could easily finish him off and obtain the 'project' we once lost." The General's eyes lite ip when the prospect of retreiving the lost project was uttered. His hands wringed around themselves as long discarded plans became a reality once more. He took hold of the reciever and clicked the button- sending out his message to the spy.

 

"Listen closely Catherine. Destined is a rouge employee of the Western Military- and a dangerous enemy. Do not let him discover your identity no matter what the circumstances are. And if he does- eliminate him quietly. You will continue to observe them and report back to me with any important findings. Also . . . it is now a part of your mission to help these 'rebels' to wage war against the Western Military. Understood?"

Black had been wandering the woods when he had seen Aya and Catherine. He was about to check on Aya, why he didn't know, but he had a soft spot for her since she fell. Then he saw Catherine walk off. He thought

Destined sat outside, isolated from everyone. He watched the sun come up. Lucifer hadn't spoken all day, and his 'face' was a droopy appearence... Lucifer only acted like this when he forsaw a disaster.

Destined took him of his head and stared at him. He had always wondered why he bothered wearing the cursed hat... Because it matched his suit? No, because Lucifer was special to him...

[Blake]

"DESTINED!!!" Black cried, running for Destined. He warped in front of him and sat, panting. "Bad news!" He looked up, waiting for White to get there.

[Tempest Dahlia]

"Like?" Destined said, slightly irritated. He put Lucifer back on.

[Blake]

White ran up to Black and handed him the phone. "Thank you..." Black said, snapping his fingers. White Faded "This phone.... Catherine was using it..... She was talking to some General wanting to Kill you!"

[Tempest Dahlia]

Destined chuckled.

"Well of course he's trying to kill me! But why was Catherine talking to him?..."

An ingenius plan hatched in his head.

[Blake]

"I don't know. I was walking around and I saw that Aya girl with Catherine. I was going to see if-" He considered his words "I could mess with them. Catherine walked off so I followed her. She began talking to the general, and White stole the phone mid-conversation."

Omar woke up and yawned. "What a night and what a dream." Omar then got up and shot a ball of light in the sky to brightened the day.

Yaming could see the scowl on Destined's face and realized she hadn't given him the answer he was hoping for. Yet before she could apologize he asked her another question. "Well I guess you could call it 'magic' . . . I'm not really sure myself. To be honest I don't remember alot about my past."

"No. It's alot more beneficial... Because now l have leverage with Catherine..." He smiled. He would blackmail her until she was through with life, then grant her wish...

Sky crossed his arms in deep thought, "Wait... Wasn't that general guy the one who wanted to execute you? Well, before I rescued you though." He gave a light-hearted smile.
