Struggle Of Powers

[Jake the Sage]

Keith's question stops the couples argument and they look at himin astonishment. "You odn't know about the Eastern Army!?"

 

"How is that possible?" Kim questions.

[Untraceable]

"I uh... I kind of just woke up here. The last thing I remembered before coming here was a large vortex. Then I woke up here with rubble piled on top of me, so I cleared it... and I was in this wasteland. I started heading twoards the mountain when it... imploded. So I have no clue where I am... or what this Eastern Army is."

[Jake the Sage]

The idea of a person appearing out of the sky had stunned the young couple for a moment, but when they recovered they bombarded Keith with question after question.

 

"Vortex!?"

"Where'd you come from? You're a Super?"

"What's your power!? Do you have more than one!?"

"What is your home village like?"

"Have you been in the wasteland this entire time?"

"You said you saw the Mountain implode? How far away where you?"

 

 

The questions just kept coming!

[Tempest Dahlia]

Destined was done. The entire base was crashed into itself, it's inhabitants crushed beneath it.

Destined took off his mask. "That wasn't as fun as I thought... Let's head back."

[Untraceable]

"Wait! Wait... hold on... I'm still trying to figure all of this out myself... wait... this isn't Earth... is it?" Keith was still trying to sort out his thoughts. There were so many questions. Was this Earth? If not where was it? How did he get here? Why was he brought here? He sighed, This can't be Earth... it's too... alien. "Well... if that's the case... I'm from Earth. The last thing I remember, and the only thing I know about the vortex, is that there was a mass eclipse of our sun... and well... a vortex appeared in the sky... and then I was here. My power is that I can manipulate heat and fire.", he made a ball of fire appear in his hand, then extinguished it, "I've only been in the wasteland for a little while, and I'm still trying to figure out what and where it is. And the Mountain... I'm not sure how far away I was, but it took a while to get here. Other than that... that's really all I know about this place right now." He shrugged, hoping that he had placated the couple's curiosity. Hopefully they'll actually answer some of my questions now.

[spoiler=Jake's Long Post Which I'm Responding To]

Andrew pushed Kallen's hands down and stepped in front of her. "You failed. We have nothing more to talk about. Now leave!"

 

"Sorry' date=' Lora it's just I wanted to actually help everyone for once. I'm always the one being saved or protected, and I wanted to be the one to protect everyone else." Hearing Akima speaks stopped most of the tears that fell from her face. She would hickup every once and a while as he looked to Yaming, "Thank you for trying to heal me, but either way I still won't be able to move on my own for a while. It's a side effect of using my power so much without resting."

 

"I understand, you put too much strain on your body. But this will stop the bleeding and shorten the recovery time." Akima smiled and turned to Koya.

 

"Hey Koya is everyone alright?"

 

Before he could answer Lora slapped Akima across the face as hard as she could. Stunned Akima looked at her with wide eyes and could see the tears welling up again. "Yes everyones . . . alright . . . b-be-becuase you had to go an-and did," she was now wipping the tears from her eyes and trying to make them stop, "and did something stupid!"

 

With Omar's help Todou was able to limp over towards Lora and sat down next to her, "Hello little girl, you . . . seem to have a lot of power. And you seem familiar to me somehow, what is your name?" Todou recognized her but he couldn't remember from where.

 

Lora didn't hear Todou as she continued to try with all of her will not to cry in front of everyone. Nic stepped in front of Todou, blocking his sight of Lora, and Josh knelt behind him.

 

"Now isn't a good time to talk to her. I know we barely know you but give her some respect- she's been through alot." Josh said as he watched Lora hugging Akima again, thankful that he was alive.

 

"Besides, it seems [i']you[/i] have a visitor." Nic pointed behind him and Todou could see Lt Tyler arrive beside him out of breath.

 

"D-Do-Doctor T-Todou! I can't . . . believe . . . your safe!" He streightens himself up and catches his breath. Then with a smile he motions over his shoulder, "I have a young lady who has been waiting to see you."

 

 

 

Akima smiled at Lora's tears, "I'm sorry but I knew that I could help." Then his face hardened and he turned his face away from her, "My master once told me that 'To know what is right and choose to ignore it is the act of a coward.' I'm sorry Lora, but I won't be a coward. The mission where he said that to me was a lie. We were tricked into believing that it would be an easy mission, but later found out that it wasn't as simple as we'd thought. We were trappd in a position where we could have either stayed and risked our lives to save the people from their oppressor or leave and keep ourselves safe to fight another day... we chose to stay and in doing so my master sealed his fate. He died in my arms and his last words to me were t walk down the path that would leave me with the least regrets, even if it would cost me my life. I plan to do just that."

 

 

Todou was stunned at the Lt.'s words, was it possible that this man of the Eastern Military was trying to help him, to protect Kallen? Was it possible that he had brought Kallen here? He looked over Lt. Tyler's shoulder and saw Kallen and... Andrew. He recognized him instantly, "Josh, Nic, that man over there standing next to the red-haired girl is one of the Eastern Military! He answers directly to the General himself!" He pointed at Andrew then warned them about Kallen, "Don't hurt her though, just tell her that I'm here and she'll come, but make sure that you don't underestimate the boy. He's quite powerful."

 

 

Kallen stood with her back to the group. She was glaring at Andrew wondering what Destined had been doing there, "Why the HELL was he? Were we sent to watch? And what do you mean he falied? What was his mission?" She didn't notice that Andrew was staring over her shoulder at Todou.

As Keith finished talking the couple looked at each other and tehn at the others surrounding him.

 

"So you came from the vortex?" they asked as if he could be lying.

[Untraceable]

"Yes... I'm not sure how or why, but yes, I did." Keith rubbed the back of his neck anxiously, How am I going to get back home?

[Jake the Sage]

Jerry and Kim looked at each other, now growing more pale in complextion. As they struggled [ha] to find the right words a young boys voice yelled out, "So you're from another dimension! I think that is SO cool!!!"

 

Turning around Keith could see a young man in traditional japanese swordsman clothing and a bamboo sword tied to his hip. He was not as . . . "well rounded" as his father but the evidence was there. Like his mother his hair was thick and wild, but cut short.

 

With Keith about to learn the truth about the vortex Kallen is begining to wonder about Andrew and their "mission".

 

"Why the HELL was he? Were we sent to watch? And what do you mean he falied? What was his mission?" She didn't notice that Andrew was staring over her shoulder at Todou. Andrew thought quickly and then put two fingers to his temple and activated the transever.

 

"What was that General!? An attack!" Andrew played his role flawlessly as his eyes grew wide with 'shock'.

 

"Even the strongest yak will be crushed if he alone should carry all the burden of his master," Koya said with confidence as he lifted Akima to his feet, as he was able to stand now, "It is an old saying from my master about the importance of friendship. You can't do everything on your own and you need to learn that."

 

Lora nodded her head and looked to Yaming. With a smile she knew what the young child was thinking, "He will be able to walk in a few minutes- he heals suprisingly fast."

 

"Don't worry, we wont harm her unl-"

 

Andrew pointed a finger at Nic, Josh and everyone who stood around them. "I've just recieved word that these Supers are a Rebel Alliance and a side party of theirs has just destoryed a Western Military Base! Its been completely destroyed!"

 

Josh and Nic prepared for a fight, if it should come, and looked at Todou as he stood in stunned silence. Andrew turned to Kallen and said with a 'sad' tone, "The General has also informed me that they were able to get in with the help of . . . a certain Eastern Military scientist . . . Kallen," Andrew glances over to Todou, "Todou has just been labeled an enemy of both the Western and Eastern Militaries."

 

 

"Destined come in . . . Come in Destined!" came the General's voice over the recever that he had handed the assassin before he was sent off on the mission.

[-Genesis-]

Kallen was stunned, "You can't be serious. Todou's not a killer he wouldn't do that, he couldn't." She fell to her knees and started crying.

 

 

Todou looked to Nic and Josh with panic on his face, "I don't know what he's doing to her, please help her!" He started to limp back toward Yaming to get her help.

 

 

Akima smiled, "I don't need to, I just need to be able to do what I have to do." He tried to take a step and faltered, he collapsed onto Koya's arm, "Sorry, I'll need a bit more time to recover."

 

 

 

Aya walked up to the General's office door an knocked. When there was no answer she creaked the door open slightly and spoke, "Um, sir, can I come in?"

[Untraceable]

A son "Well, it's not as 'cool' as getting back would be. The name's Keith if you didn't already know." Keith reached a hand out for a handshake.

[Jake the Sage]

The child took Keith's hand and began to shake it happily. "My name is Kial," the young man took out his bamboo sword with his free hand and waved it above his head, "I'm a samurai like my papa!"

 

Jerry let out a laugh and for the first time Keith noticed the sword attatched to his hip, "Well I'm not actually a samurai- but I do not how to swing a sword."

 

Kim closed her eyes and let out a giggle and then looked at her husband with a grin, "But ask him to help around the house and he becomes a ninj-"

 

 

An explosion in the distance cut the conversation short as a droplets of rain fell on them. Wipping their foreheads the gruesome reality hit them . . . it was blood.

 

"Aaaauuuuuuuuuuuuuuugggggggggggghhhhhhhhhh!!!" Nic let out a high pitched cry of pain as his entire right arm was blasted off by Andrew. Falling to the ground he held the shoulder as the puddle off blood grew into a small pool. Josh stood stunned as his best friend's blood ran down his face. Yaming, already at Nic's side, yelled amoungst the paniced crowd, "I need some help over here! I can't heal a wound this big! Someone PLEASE!!!!"

 

 

"I think you might want to try recovering a little bit faster," Koya said with wide eyes as the blood rain finished falling. Andrew stood as still as a stone statue as Akima noticed Lora holding her stomach and kneeling on the ground, turning green.

 

"I know you don't want to believe it Kallen, but Todou has sold out hundreds of innocent lives for God knows what reason!!!" Andrew blared to Kallen as his hands smoldered from the blast. Looking up at him Kallen could see that his hand had transmutated into a cannon and it was from there that the blast had originated from. Eying it furteher she could make out the details of the Radiant Wave Surger, amoung other devices that Todou himself had invented, "You can either help me bring him in or leave now! But either way," the RWS began to charge up another blast as he aimed it fvor the doctor's head, "I am going to end his life for the crimes he's commited!!!!"

 

The tension has overflowed and a body bag might be needed soon for the "tratorious" Doctor Todou. A knock came on the door as Aya walked into the room. Not hearing the door open the General continues talking over the reciever.

 

"Destined damn it! Do you come in!?" Feeling the presense of another perosn he whirls around and looks at Aya and turns off the reciever. "Aya . . . I thougth I locked that door"

[Untraceable]

Keith looked at the blood, shaking. "What... oh my God..." He bolted twoards where the explosion had come from, hoping he could get there in time to help whoever was in trouble.

[-Genesis-]

Akima struggled to stand but then grabbed onto Koya's shoulder and turned to face him with an Iron-clad look of determination, "Can you help me stand?"

 

 

Todou turned and went over to Nic and pulled out a small device that looked like a spray bottle, "Nic, hold on this will hurt a bit." He sprayed the bottle on Nic's bloody shoulder and the pain started to disappear immediately.

 

 

Kallen realized what Andrew was going to do and in one swift movement she stood up, swung herself around and grabbed Andrew's arm with her Radiant Wave Surger forcing it up, pointing at the sky, "Don't make me use it Andrew!" She was ready to use her Radiant Wave Surger to destroy his arm if necessary.

 

 

Aya walked in slowly but with a smile on he face, "I'm sorry sir but it was unlocked and I was wondering why you sent for me?"

[Jake the Sage]

As Keith raced towards the blast he realized that Jerry, Kim and Kial were following him. Before he could convince them to turn back Kim let him have a piece of her mind, "Don't even try and tell us its too dangerous. We know what is going on."

 

"Ah, you are here for your debreffing . . ." The General stood up from the chair and opened his arms wide towards the young girl. "But first why not give your 'uncle' a hug and we can talk about your mission after that, hu?"

 

A young child under the General's infulence? What possible powers could such a young lady possess that would interest the wicked General's black heart?

 

"Sure . . . I'll let you lean on me," Koya lifted Akima so he could get settled in better and turned back to Lora, "I think you should sit this one out . . ."

 

Lora nodded her head and removed her hand from her mouth, "Yeah . . . sure . . " her eyes grew wide again and she covered her mouth again.

 

Nic wraithed in pain as the spray hit his shoulder and he let out another grueling cry and knocked Todou with his leg. The force was enough to push him back and Nic's eyes began to beomce black. "JOSH! I need you to hold him down or we are going to be in trouble!"

 

Josh had his hands on Nic's stomach and was doing everything in his power to keep Nic from moving, "I know that! Just sadate him! Todou! I need to know if you can help Yaming hea-"

 

Josh released Nic and grabbed the doctor's leg and took it out from under him. As the doctor's head hit the ground another blast wizzed by and killed some of the panic stricken refugees that were trying to find a safe place to hide.

 

"I have no other choice Kallen!" Andrew said as the blast fired from his cannon, "Its either I tkae him out or someone else will!!!"

Aya ran over and hugged the General, "Guess what! I wrote another story yesterday! That's my fifth one this week." She took a step back, "So what's wrong why'd you call me here so quickly?"

 

 

Akima held onto Koya for balance, "I want to at least do one thing to help." He raised his right arm and focused his energy on Nic's chest. Then he released the energy hitting Nic in the chest with enough force to knock him out. Akiam staggered, "Did it work? Is Nic unconcious?"

 

 

Todou then pulled out a needle, "I guess this is all I've got." He stabbed the needle into Nic's neck and injected him with anesthetic.

 

 

Kallen fired a punch with her left arm into Andrew's face, then activated her Radiant Wave Surger, making Andrew's arm build up pressure and then finally explode. She backed off, "Andrew I know that I'm going against the chain of command, but I won't kill Todou and I won't let you kill him either." Kallen charged directly at him planning to grab his face and kil him with the Radiant Wave Surger.

 

 

 

In the trees nearby Natalie was sitting on a branch pouting, "Aww, come on Cougar, how come you get to have all the fun?" Cougar was at the base of the tree stretching, "Risking my life for people that I don't know... you call that fun?" Natalie smiled at him, "Well we both know that you're gonna be fine, no one can catch you." Cougar smirked and took a runner's starting position, "Ready, Set, GO!" Cougar disappeared and with blinding speed appeared between Andrew and Kallen, and knocked her to the ground. "Now, now. You two need to learn to play nice." Kallen sat on the ground, shocked at the man wo'd appeared infront of her out of thin air.

Akima staggered, "Did it work? Is Nic unconcious?"

 

As Akima spoke Nic let out a sigh as Todou injected his with an anesthetic and he then began to breath easily. Yaming, clotting the blood with her powers, turned to Todou and asked if he could help seal the wound.

 

"You two [Akima and Koya]! Can you fight!?" Josh barked as Kallen turned against Andrew. They looked at him and could see the furry in his eyes, along with tears born of rage.

 

A fight for vengance is underway while the General continues his diobolical plot. He let the young woman go and gave her a warm smile, "I need you to do a very important mission for me my dear."

 

The General sat back down in his chair and leaned back, "I hate having to ask someone so young, but I have no other choice. I need you to use your powers for a special mission . . ."

Special Mission can only mean many more people will wind up dead as cost for the General's ambitions.

 

Andrew did not even let out a cry of pain as his arm is shattered by Kallen's attack. His arm breaks and pieces fly off and look more like circutry than flesh and blood organs. As Kallen prepared to kill Andrew with her Radiant Wave Surger a man appeared between them and knocked her to the ground.

 

"Now, now. You two need to learn to play nice." Kallen sat on the ground, shocked at the man wo'd appeared infront of her out of thin air.

 

Andrew stood up and the arm blown off by Kallen regenerated, more like gathered back together and became whole again, and he moved his fingers to ensure they worked.

Looking at the man who had appeared he made two droids appeara behind the him and he gave him a glare, "Do not interfeer with us Super!"

 

Andrew then formed the cannon again and took aim.

"WHAT!?" Destined screamed into the reciever. He was clearly peeved: He found out the many inhabitants of the base survived, and was planning an evacuation... Oh, how he longed to kill them.

Natalie ran out of the woods now, "Hey don't point that at Cougar!" She leapt at Andrew's arm and grabbed hold. Then she used her power making the air around Andrew lift making him as light as a feather and she threw him 20ft away. Then she turned around and stood there infront of Cougar and apologized, "I'm sorry you told me not to interfere, but I couldn't let him get away with pointing that weapon at you." Cougar stared down at her, "Natalie you need to be careful, we don't know what military he's from. And the Northern Military's still has you labeled as and escaped prisoner."

 

 

Aya smiled and nodded, "Well what is it?" Suddenly another person walked into the room, it was Doctor Catherine Wright, Aya's legal guardian, assigned by the General, "Sir I have something of immediate importance to speak with you about. Aya could you wait outside the door?" Aya's face fell, she disliked secrets. After she went outside the room Catherine turned to the General, "Sir I need to show you something," She opened her laptop and showed him a live streamed video from one of their satellites. On the screen it showed Kallen, Natalie, Cougar, and Andrew. The Doctor replayed Natalie's attack then pulled a device from her pocket, "Sir I'd like you to order Andrew to capture that girl, you may recognize her from the Northern Military's Prisoner Database. Then have him bring her back to base, with or without Kallen and Lt. Tyler. And don't worry about obtaining the secret of the Radiant Wave Surger I have another plan for that, but it would involve myself and Aya 'walking into the lions den', are you interested?"

 

 

Akima sat on the ground and grabbed Lora's arm, "Let's let the others handle this one." He smiled and then continued to watch the fight.

 

 

Todou grabbed the spray bottle from where it had fallen and sprayed it over Nic's wounded shoulder, then turned to Yaming, "I've got Nic, he's stable now, stop Josh from doing something stupid. Tell him that I can make Nic an arm to replace his like I did Kallen, but I'll make it an actual mechanical arm that can feel and move, but not a weapon."

[Untraceable]

Keith was about to make another retort, but then said, "Well, I guess I can use all the help I can get, let's go." He began running as fast as he could twoards where the explosion had come from. The blood still streaked his auburn hair, but that didn't matter, perhaps this would make it up to Kim, Jerry, and Kial for his initial mistake. He began raising his heat level, preparing himself for whatever he would find in this hellish wasteland, this parody of a world.

Yaming shook her head and glanced off at Josh, boiling with rage, "I can't even stop him now. He's blind with rage."

 

Josh turned to Koya and Akima, "Are you going to join me or not!?" he did not wait any longer and charged after Andrew and his "allies".

 

Doctor Catherine Wright had asked Aya to leave, which she regretably did, and played a live stramed video of the battle. The Doctor replayed Natalie's attack then pulled a device from her pocket, "Sir I'd like you to order Andrew to capture that girl, you may recognize her from the Northern Military's Prisoner Database. Then have him bring her back to base, with or without Kallen and Lt. Tyler. And don't worry about obtaining the secret of the Radiant Wave Surger I have another plan for that, but it would involve myself and Aya 'walking into the lions den', are you interested?"

 

He glared at the Doctor and stood from his chair. "You are asking me to capture a prisioner from the Northern Army for my own use!? And to leave Kallen, one of my most prized warriors!?"

He began to chuckle and then laughed completely. "Well let me hear the rest of your plan" he said as he sat back down.

 

Kallen stood stunned as Andrew was sent flying by the attack of an unknown Super. "I'm sorry you told me not to interfere, but I couldn't let him get away with pointing that weapon at you." Cougar stared down at her, "Natalie you need to be careful, we don't know what military he's from. And the Northern Military's still has you labeled as and escaped prisoner."

 

"So this is the escaped convict from the Northern Military?" Andrew said as he began to decend by rocket packs. "Kallen! She is a wanted enemy and we have just recieved to arrest her along with the elimination of Doctor Todou!"

The General picked the transever and could hear Destined yelling in the background, "Enough Destined. I'm here. What is your report?"

"Almost everything is destroyed. Some people survived. Unfortunately."

The General nodded his head as he glanced at Doctor Catherine, "That is fine. They will spread the message that an unknown Super has attacked the compound. Now I need you to repeat that for every other Military Base you encounter. Understood?"
