Struggle Of Powers

[Jake the Sage]

 

Josh and Nic look at each other and without saying a words they begin to charge their energies up. Josh's features began to morph and change into scales and fur, while Nic became bigger and horns grew out of his skull. Nic opened his eyes, now completely black, and sent a wave of dark energy at Destined. The blast was powerful enough to send him flying back. From there Josh appeared above Destined and with so much force that he knocked his enemy clear into the ground and at least ten feet into the crust. Nic and Josh both reverted back to their original forms and were breathing heavily. "Well . . . I think that sto-"

 

Blasts erupted and both warriors put their guard back up thinking that Destined had somehow survived. Both stopped and just stared as Lora sent blast after blast into the hole that Destine's body had made. "I won't let you get back up! No- Way!"

Destined appeared from the hole, placing his hat back on. "Ouch! That actually stung a bit!"

He chuckled at Lora's feeble attempts to destroy him. He took every blow, feeling a bit of the pain. He didn't attempt to block.

"Heh... You're all weak!" Destined sighed. "I hate to end a party, but... I'm on another mission! See ya!"

He jumped, landing on Josh's head to taunt him, then, dashing into the gap in the base. It was time to kill Todou.

Josh and Nic whirrled around in their places, Josh seething a tthe mouth in anger. "He's after Todou!?" Nic yelled out as they gave chase.

 

For some reason to Eden and Lee that name sounded familiar, but didn'at have time to tell Lorea or the others because as soon as Destined had ran off so did they.

 

With Destined now in the base Yaming knew what was going to happen, and didn't enjoy the idea of fighting at all. She turned to Tarr and told her to wheel the doctor into a safe room and lock the door. "its designed so that no one will be able to break in unless they know the combination," Yaming gave a wink as she started to shut the door, "And there is only three people who know it."

 

With a clink she locked the door and turned in time to see Destined running for her area. Taking a deep breath she prepared herself for the battle that she knew couldn't be avoided.

"...So."

Destined stopped, looking casual, as if he were simply here for a visit.

"Two people will die today. Todou..."

He stared at the woman in front of him. For the first time since he attacked, his expression was serious.

"I won't waste my time bribing you. I feel that you are strong-willed and can't be broken easily. I'll have to fix that..."

His hand emnated a strange, wavy sword using his psychic powers.

"Prepare yourself. I will not spare your life."

Yaming took the picture from the doctor and looked over it. It was three people smiling and taking a pose. One was a man' date=' another an older women and the last figure was a red headed girl that looked about six years old. "The little girl is Kallen, she's all grown up now, but she's the only one in the region with red hair like that... also her ... her right arm is mechanical now. I built it for her after the accident. Please you have to save her!" Todou pleaded with Yaming, dispair clear in his eyes as the horrible thoughts flowed through his conciousness, "I don't care what happens to me I have to save her, but since you won't let me . . . could you get her for me?"

 

Todou's please did not fall on deaf ears as Yaming nodded her head. "I'll go and get Kal-"

 

The entire base shook and an explosion erupted from the roof, which was blown away and left a gaping hole. Omar was able to keep Todou from falling, while Yaming and Tarr looked up to see a man in purple clothing and a hat that, she could sense, held an ominous aura. A grunt and groan made her heart skip a beat and to her right Nic and two other figures rose out of the rubble that was once the roof. One was a giant mutant thing while the other unknown person was a normal, yet short, human. Nic stood up and wiped the side of his mouthm, "That guy . . . is going to pay . . ."

 

"Everyone! We have a Code #883! Begin proper precautions- NOW!" Josh called out to everyone as the residents began to run and scatter like roachs exposed to a bright light. Smashing his fists together Josh walked over to Nic and waited for him to get up before asking who the intruder was.

 

"That was so COOL Akima!" Lora yelled out as the smokew lifted from the damage the attack had just caused. Koya nodded his head and told Akima and Lora not to let their guard down. She nodded and formed two energy blasts in her hands and waited to see if the enemy had gone down for good.

 

" . . . Was that all!?" came the reply from Destined as the smoke cleared. Lora and even Koya was suprised to see him standing in the same spot [even though the ground had crumbled away'] while brushing off his suit. The hat gave a menacing grin and Destined called out, "You had your fun- MY Turn!"

 

Charging his aura up it beganto swirl around and became a shade of violet like on an emperor's robe. With a laugh Destined exclaimed, "Oooh yeah . . . all of this . . . Power," he glanced around him, "And so many people to use it on. I can't take it anymore! FREE HAND OUTS!!!"

 

With a violent explosion Destined thrusted his arms entire length out and sent the lethal psionic energy pulsating in every direction.

 

"I don't know. He began attacking for no reason. It may just be me, but I think he's got a screw loose." Nic replied as wave after wave of psionic energy made the building groan and rumble as it passed. Both nodded to each other and floated up to the entrance and the top of their once secret base.

 

Kallen bursted into the General's office, not carring about the blood trickling down her cheek, "You wanted to see me, sir!?"

 

He turned slowly in his chair and in his hand was a file filled with papers and his eyes were blood shot. "Is that anyway to speak to your superior? Nevermind," The General threw the file to Kallen and she looked down at it, "Read it."

 

Looking over it Kallen knew it was nothing more than maps and coordinates. "We have had confirmation that Todou is at that location. I need you and Lt Tyler to go there and retrieve him for us. We have reports that the area is currently a war zone so you might be forced to use lethal tactics. Andrew will be accompanying you on this mission as well. Understood?"

 

Andrew walked amougnst Kallen and Lt Tyler as they stood in stunned silence. "So shall we be going?" Andrew motioned and waited for the others to regain their senses.

 

 

 

 

(At the Mountain Fight)

Akima, being so high up, saw that there was a base that was ripped open, *That must be the place Koya was talking about! I've got to help them.* Akima continued to draw on his power even though he knew that too much more without a break could kill him, he started coughing up blood He used his power to shield the people in the base (Yaming, Josh, Todou, and all the people in that place) as well as Lora, Koya, and their new friends. He then lifted them all into the air around himself, ignoring any protests, so that they would all be safe then decided to place them all at the base of the mountain. But before placing them down he turned to Lora and Koya, "Guide everyone away from here! I won't be able to hold him off for long! Trust me!" He coughed up more blood. After putting everyone, including the people from the base, at the base of the mountain he created a shield separating them all from himself and Destined. *I will protect them. I promised myself that I wouldn't be a burden the next time. Well this is it. It's my turn to be the protector.*

 

Akima still floating in the air level with Destined shouted out to him, "If you want to hurt any of them you have to go through me!" He strengthened the shield separating them all from him and Destined and then focused his energy to make another attack.

 

 

(Back at the Eastern Military Base)

Kallen took the file and looked through it then looked to the General, "Wait you're only sending Lt. Tyler, Andrew, and myself?" Kallen thought that Todou would need more of a guard than that since someone had already tried to kill him, besides the fact that Andrew's Radiant Wave Surger was a failure.

[Tempest Dahlia]

ooc um... Destined is in the base now.

 

"Fight? YOU?" Destined laughed a long, evil, harsh laugh. He just couldn't control himself.

"...Very well," he said, wiping tears from his eyes. "You can't possibly think you can go toe to toe with me. You must have a Deathwish."

Still giggling a bit, he rushed up to Akima. "I'm under orders, but this won't take long at all. I promise I won't make it hurt..."

He slashed at Akima with his sword, energy flowing from it that could easily cut a building in two.

"..Much."

Hearing Akima's challenge Destined wasn't able to control himself and began to laugh uncontrolably. Finally stopping he wipped the tears away, "You can't possibly think you can go toe-to-toe with me!? You must have a Deathwish!"

 

Though not as loudly, Destined rushed up to Akima while laughing. "I'm under orders, but this won't take long at all. I promise I won't make it hurt," he slashed at Akima with his sword,"Much . . ."

 

"wait . . . you're only sending Lt. Tyler, Andrew and myself?"

Wouldn't Doctor Todou need more of a guard than that since someone had already tried to kill him? The General must have known what Kallen was thinking and answered her questions.

 

"This is only a recovery mission. We need a group of three people to make sure it goes smoothly and swiftly."

 

"We also have reports that the assassin is heading to that area," Andrew remarked to Kallen and Lt Tyler's suprise, "So we need to get moving now."

 

 

"Akima!"

 

Turning for a second he saw all of the people he had sent to the base of the mountain in the air and on the ground watching him. Lora was in front of the group with a few tears forming in her eyes, "You can't push yourself too far! We can fight with you!"

 

Koya floated over to Akima and gave a smile with a laugh. In one swift motion he slammed his fist into AKima's stomach, but pulled back enough not to knock him out. "You can't do this alone and you know it. What would Lora do if you ended up dieing?"

 

Koya patted him on the back and turned to Lora and winked. From there she turned around and gave out a yell and all of the Supers responded. Destined had a fight on his hands now. He had unwittingly stepped into a bee hive- and these "honey" bees wouldn't stand by and be mistreated.

[Tempest Dahlia]

"A pathetic rally of such unwilling opponents. So... Pitiful."

He stroked his chin thoughtfully. "Hmm... There's alot of these rodents running around, I see. I may need your help exterminating these pests, Lucifer."

The hat grinned. "As you wish..."

Destined faced the group. "You're all seriously starting to get on my nerves. Die already, will ya?"

He taunted them, pointing at them with his finger.

"You want me? Come get me."

He had another plan brewing under his evil sleeve...

Josh and Nic were the first to answer the challenge and charged at Destined. Nic slammed Desinted with his entire arm and then Josh slinged him to the ground. "Now Yaming!"

 

Nodding her head she waved her hands and the ground opened up, ready to swallow him.

Destined was then slammed and thrown into the ground. A hole began to form.

"Pathetic!" He said, laughing. He ran full speed to avoid the hole. He teased them. "I'll die of old age if you keep that up," he said...

 

Lucifer grinned.

"This is where he's hiding..."

Destined tried to open the door. It didn't work. "Hmm... Reinforced doors? Is that all?"

He prepared himself to blast the door down.

Akima ignored Koya's punch, but was happy for the help. Akima pulled up all of his energy, causing him to cough up more blood, and then turned to Koya, "Please if I tell you to run get everyone and run, and I'll blast this guy to hell. But no matter what please listen to me and take Lora, when I tell you to. I promise that I'll survive and find you both again, but you have to go... and you can't tell Lora." Akima then turned to face Destined and focused even more power so that even the weakest of supers could sense the energy radiating from him. "I won't let you hurt these people!"

 

 

Todou was sitting at the base of the mountain watching the fight hoping that Yaming would be alright as she'd promised that she'd help him free Kallen.

 

 

Kallen nodded to the General and turned to Andrew and Lt. Tyler, "Head to the gate I'll meet you there in a bit." She left and went to her room. There she pulled out her special belt. It contained the last 7 of the 30 energy filler's that Todou gave her for the Radiant Wave Surger. She knew that with all the use lately it was low on power so she'd probably need one for this mission. But instead of taking one she put on the belt and went to the gate.

Destined' still didn't attack. He just ran around, teasing them all. "Is that it? Your mother would be so ashamed of such a worthless son!" He cackled...

 

Destined built up enough energy. "Doors won't stop me from killing you..."

He released all his energy in one shot, blasting the door off it's hinges.

"...Todou. I found you, at last. Prepare to die!"

Destined walked into the room toward Todou, a malicious smile on his evil face...

...ok, i really don't feel like editing, so just disregard the second part of my last post.

 

Destined said, "Playtime's over."

His energy began to rise as he prepared his first attack.

Continuing his madening game of cat-and-mouse, Destined zipped and spun through the crowd and would make false attacks."Is that it? Your mothers would be so ashamed of such a worthless bunch," he cackled. This guy was getting on Lora's nerves and she was about to attack when Akima spoke out.

 

 

He began to summon all of his energy, causing Akima to cough up more blood, and turned to Koya. He asked if he said so to leave that he'd listen and run. Koya nodded his head and promised, but knew in his heart he wouldn't be able to leave Akima behind if he wanted to; and neither could Lora. Akima had by then turned to face Destined, "I won't let you hurt these people!"

Koya walked beside his friend and pointed a blast at Destined as well, "Neither will I!"

And then a third, smaller hand appeared between the two. Not one of them needed to look back to know who it was as Lora's voice called out. "Me either!"

 

The group of Supers who had been standing idally by gave a cheer and began to summon their long forgotten powers. Some transformed into otherworldly beings while some erupted into elemental forms. Yaming, watching from in front of the vault door, gave a smile and raised and eyebrow to Destined. "So are you still going to try and go through with this mission of yours?"

 

Josh and Nic walked up behind Destined, making him corneres with no way out, "Normally I'd say just leave," Josh remarked.

"But you attacked our home- so you're going to have to pay!" Nic finished.

 

 

"Head to the gate I'll meet you there in a bit." Kallen had told Adnrew and Lt Tyler as she walked off to her room. Once inside she pulled out a special belt made by Todou before any of this happened. Opening it up seven energy fillers shone brilliantly as she examined them to make sure they had not broken. Knowing with all of its use recently that her Radiant Wave Surgert must be on low, that it'd have to be recharged at least once for his mission. Strapping the belt around her waist Kallen began to walk off for the gate. Once arriving she saw an anxious Lt Tyler [on his first mission outside the base] and an annoyed Andrew.

"Did you get everything?"

"Come on! We need to get going!"

 

Looking around Destined couldn't see anywhere he could move to that wouldn't end up without him being knocked for a loop or being blasted out of the sky- assuming all of the Supers around here were at least half way decent in strength. "Playtimes over!"

 

His energy began to rise as he prepared his first attack. Yaming could feel the swell of energy in Destined and shot beams of light at him. Destined, caught off guard by the speed of the attack, soon found himself being drained of his own energies!!! "You can't run from this attack, and soon you won't have enough strength to lift your pinky finger."

 

"BUt we won't give you that kind of time! Now!" and with that a violent explosion rang out as Super after Super bombarded Destined with their attacks one after another.

 

The violent explosions rocked Todou as he sat withint the safe house. He was steadied by Tarr who had been placed in there with him to make sure he would be fine. As the tremors continued he hoped that Yaming would be alright- as she'd promised that she'd help him free Kallen.

With all of the mass confusion of the battle raging forth. Tarr was tasked to do a simple thing and yet she screwed it up. As the area rumbled the door slammed shut and stuck her in there with Todou. "Grate today seems no to be my day."

 

As for out side. Eden and Lee where mainly doing nothing. They where sitting on the side lines watching the whole entire thing. "So who do think will win?"

 

"What do you mean win?" Lee coughed up.

"Synthesizer is broken. But who should we fight for?"

"You know who to fight for."

"Ya the wining side."

Akima turned to Lora once his power was built up enough, "Get everyone down to the bottom of the mountain and make a shield around them. Please trust me! I promise that I'll meet up with you later, but if you don't go then Koya won't either, Please Lora, I'm begging you to take everyone away." He was crying and decided to push the one button that would make Lora obey, "You have to go after Kallen, and I WILL be there to help, but you need to let me do this. I'm always the one being saved, its about time that I save everyone." He smiled at her.

 

 

Kallen nodded to them and turned to the gate guard, "When we come back I want you to have a full 12 military guard waiting for us, alright." The guard looked at her puzzeled and then noticed the uniform, "Oh, yes Captain Stadtfeld." She nodded her thanks and then ran through the gate. *Todou, I promise I'll find you and protect you.*

 

 

Todou turned to Tarr and pulled a device out of his pocket. It looked like a little can, "Here take this, if you need to press this button and throw it into the air, it's guarenteed to help. It's called a Chaos Flare, it'll release a burst of light which directly hits the retina and blinds any person who the light hits, but only for a minute. Also the light only goes away from the user so be careful that none of your friends are infront of you."

Tarr looked at the wired devise. "Odd." Tarr glanced at the what seemed a bomb of some sorts and then at the Human. "If I may ask why are they after you?"

Destined was bombarded with a rainbow of energy. He could shrug off a few, but hundreds at once...

...He got up off the floor. "You will all pay for that... Hohohoho..."

Destined's energy began to rise beyond anything anyone has ever seen.

"You should have died the easy, painfree way... But no... You wanted me to show no mercy..."

He was now glowin with radiant energy.

"...THAT OFFER EXPIRED!!! YOU WILL FEEL PAIN BEYOND DEATH!!!!!!!"

Andrew and Lt Tyler followed Kallen as she dashed out into the dessert. Andrew was able to keep up by transforming himself into a cheeta, but Lt Tyler however had to user one of the militaryies machines to keep up.

 

As they vanished form sight one of the General's advisors looked over, "Do you think that was wise, sir? Sending Kallen off to eliminate your assassin? Todou will tell her everything!"

 

The General gave a huff and laughed at the thought. "Todou won't get to say a word. The assassin will murder Todou and then Lt Tyler. All poor little Kallen will have to do is "avenge" her friends and report back to me," he began to laugh loudly at his plan, "And then all of her wordly attachments will be gone, making her the perfect candidate for brain washing."

 

"Like that young girl, sir?"

 

"Exactly . . ."

 

The dust whipped into Lt Tyler's face as he drove beside Kallen and Andrew.Luckily he had brought some goggles along with him to keep the dirt out of his eyes or he'd be driving blindly now, "So how long will it take us to get there?"

 

 

As Kallen and her crew raced to the battlefield it appears as if the General's plan is going to go off without a hitch. The assassin known as Destined has somehow summoned up an enormous ammount of psionic energy, enough to cause the rocks on the ground to being levitating. "This is not good. Yaming!? Can you contain it!?"

 

"I think I . . . No!"

 

Josh growled as the energy field began to rise and rise as Destined began flying into a rage. His mind raced with thought after thought of a way to save everyone before it was too late. Yet as he stumbled for a solution someone dashed out and tackled Destined to the ground- the one person that he had overheard someone call Lora.

 

"Stop this right now!" She yelled to Destined as she held his face to the ground.

[Tempest Dahlia]

"YOU!!!! I WILL NOT STOP!!! AND YOU... YOU SHALL BE MY FIRST VICTIM!!!"

Using a surge of psionic energy, Destined propeled Lora forcefully into the air.

"IT IS PEOPLE LIKE TODOU THAT MAKE IT IMPOSSIBLE FOR SUPERHUMANKIND TO SURVIVE!!! AND YET YOU'RE ALL ON HIS SIDE!? PROTECTING HIM!? FIGHTING FOR HIM!?"

He appeared behind Lora and slashed at her, slamming her to the ground. He summoned a huge amount of energy into his palm.

"DIE, PATHETIC LITTLE PEASANT!!!!!"

Akima turned to Lora, "Get everyone down to the bottom of the mountain and make a shield around them. Please trust me! I promise that I'll meet up with you later, but if you don't go then Koya won't either, Please Lora, I'm begging you to take everyone away." He was crying and decided to push the one button that would make Lora obey, "You have to go after Kallen, and I WILL be there to help, but you need to let me do this. I'm always the one being saved, its about time that I save everyone." He smiled at her. Then without waiting for a response he fired two massive bursts of Gravity: The first sending everyone except Destined flying toward the bottom of the mountain, and the second crushing the ground under Destined and forcing him into the ground. Akima knew that to finish the attack he'd have to do it personally. He floated down to Destined and stopped right infront of him, then while Destined fought against the massive gravitational force, Akima reached out his hand, open palmed, right into Destined's face, "I'll take you down, even if it costs me my life!" The gravitational force increased so much that Akima's body was forced down onto Destined's and they both where smashed into the mountain whic then collapsed inward ontop of them. And Akima blacked out.

 

 

Kallen saw a massive explosion in the mountains where thay were headed, "What the hell was that! Dammit let's move." She started to run even faster.

 

Todou watched in amazement as the mountain seemed to implode on Akima and Destined while everyone else was thrown back to the bottom of the mountain.

As Lora hit the ground Lee jolted off running. "Hay Come back Lee" Eden shouted as he started to run after him. but in the end it was futile. As Destined started to make a finsighing blow to the innocent little girl. Lee charged at her half way. He garbed a large boulder that was near him. He lifted it like it was nothing. Not a mechanical Cyborg it was nothing."You will Not!!!!!" And with that He threw the mid size boulder at Destined.
