Struggle Of Powers

[Jake the Sage]

The Professor stood and slammed his hand on the desk, giving a long sigh, and rubbed were his glasses rested. Kyou had possibly thought he was prepared to yell, but he never did, and just looked away sadly.

 

"Its impossible because . . . Yaming . . . is dead," he finally said while looking at the photo, stunning everyone who had heard. but the stunned silence didn't last long when Kyou shook her head, "You're wrong Professor. If you were right then she wouldn't be here at all, but she is, which in and of itself proves you wrong. Besides my grandfather has been around since before your father was born, you really expect me to believe you over him?"

 

Saul knew that his boss was right but . . . how? He began to speak but was interrupted by Kyou's outburst, "If you believe you're right tell me why you think that!"

 

Her anger was now obvious to everyone in the room. Once she finished, though still fuming, Saul glared at her. "Quiet, Kyou. You need too calm down . . . or I'll have to take drastic measures."

 

Cougar was now completely on guard with Kyou's temper rising and Saul's threat, he hoped that he wouldn't have to try and hold her back. since that definitely wasn't going to be the easiest thing in the world to do. Kyou took a few deep breaths and relaxed enough not to go ballistic and then looked at the Professor. Saul continued to stare at her, unwavering for a moment, and then finally turned to the professor.

 

"Sir, I've seen her. I even read the mind of the general. When I asked him if she was the Western Legendary, he immediately put up defenses in his mind," he then asked, "So how are you sure?"

 

 

"Well . . . there is something a few people said that is troubeling me," she stared at both of them and nodded, "I've heard them saying I'm supposed to be the Legendary of the West. But . . . it doesn't make sense at all."

 

Akima was confused at Yaming's words as she shyly grinend, but Kallen looked away, "I suspected as much . . . the General was always talking about the Western Legendary and her power. And he even had a picture of the legendary in his office. I recognized Yaming before, but until she said it out loud I never made the connection between the picture in his office and Yaming." Yaming took a deep breath but was startled by someone's presence behind her and, more over, someone laughing.

 

"You!? The Western Legendary!?" whirrling around Yaming and the others saw Destined staring down at them from a river bank, smiling with wild thoughts dancing behind his eyes. Lucifer was also grinning as he took a step in their direction, "Absolutely not!"

 

"Saul," the Professor began and then glanced down at the photo, "I am absolutely sure the Western Legendary is dead. I . . . held her in my arms when the life left her body."

 

Finishing his sentance the photo floated from his fingers while he held back the painful memories. Looking back at them, his eyes fierce with rage, "I was there when she died!"

[-Genesis-]

Kyou smirked at the Professor, "That, that is your undeniable proof, Hah! You really don't know about the Legendarys do you, when a Legendary dies they are 'naturally' reborn in 24 hours. The Legendarys can only be truly killed by another Legendary!" Kyou smirked at the Professors expression and knew that he didn't have any knowledge of that information.

 

Cougar was completely on guard at Saul's threat, "Saul, if you even make an attempt at Kyou I'll kill you before you can say oops." Cougar was completely serious and ready.

 

Kallen was still dazed as she was thinking about the connection and Akima came to Yaming's defense, "Destined, she can beat you so you shouldn't be saying anything."

Destined laughed as he stood in front of them, looking down at Yaming, his eyes locked on her. "Oh I bet . . . that she'd never be able to in her life."

 

Hearing Kyou's words the Professor stood up, marched over to her, and lifted her off the ground. His eyes were filled with rage as he forced himselfd to set her down, instead throwing the desk he had sat behind through the ice she had made. He was completely outraged as he turned around, "You pompase little brat! Do you honestly think that's how it goes!? What lies! Ignorance! A Legendary can die like any normal Super but, in some sense, because of their immense strength it is true only another Legendary can kill them. Mitch's attack killed her . . . and now some how an imitation is here."

[Blake]

Black decided to cause some issues. "Really, Destined? Saul said she could beat you, Kyou, and maybe Mitch. Not at once mind you." HE smirked. "And keep in mind, I'm stating the truth. No more, no less." He was ready to warp if need be.

 

Saul stared at Cougar flatly. "She's being pompous, not outrageous. If she gets mad, then I'll take her out." Then he saw the professor move. He snapped his eyes at Cougar, to see if he made any funny moves. "Now, YOU will be dead before I can say 'oops' if YOU move."

[Jake the Sage]

The Professor slouched back down in his chair, not even holding back his tears as the memories came back, and waited for them to answer.

 

As the tensions rised in the 'conferance' Destined looked over his shoulder and grinned when he heard Black mock him. Waiting for him to finish speaking Destined hide his laughter and then shook his head.

 

"Like I said . . . she beat me by a fluke. Nothing more nothing less," Destined then pointed at Yaming, "If somehow she is the Legendary of the West, which I know she isn't, then she should prove it!"

[DragonJLB]

" Dont push your luck Destined!" Josh warned...even though no one would hear it. " This conferance is going to end in , with your face in the dirt and Yaming's foot on your head." Josh stated as he watched this meeting go from bad to worse. He thought to him self, "if I where hear right now you would already be in the dirt."

[Blake]

"Oh? I said COULD beat you. Not did." Black chuckled then warped in front of Yaming. "I believe she is the Western Legendary." He said it with a deep and dark chuckle. "And I believe she will help the group. Someone more powerful than you and Kyou? Why would we fight that?" Black grinned, ear to ear.

 

Saul returned to his position behind and to the right of the Professor. Saul thought.

As the Professoer lifted Kyou by her throat she didn't react and neither did Cougar. "You can't believe the truth because it means admitting that you're wrong, and you just won't accept that." She glanced back at Cougar for a second. And that's all it took. An instant later Cougar was behind Saul holding his arms behind his back and with a hand at his throat, "Just for example, you were saying what? That I'd be dead before I could move? You're so slow it's embarrassing." Cougar held Saul in place so that even if Saul could copy his power he wouldn't be going anywhere. *even if he did copy my power the speed would be so unusual to him he'd trip a lot. And summoning my Altar Power is beyond him.*

 

Kyou made an ice chair and sat back in it, "Professor you should know better than most that things aren't always as they seem. That's why you should know that it is true that Yaming is the Western Legendary. Your not a fool, listen to the truth not what you think is true.'

 

Kallen decided to end the pissing match. She stood up, "Destined, why don't you just go away, or am I going to have to make you." She lifted her right arm and the RWS core glowed a bright red emphasizing her point.

[Blake]

SAul let a smile tug at the edge of his mouth. Suddenly, his crossbow on his right arms had blades come out all around it. "That's why you dont get close." He said as he retracted the blades. "Now, if you will, let go of me." He touched Cougar while he was trying to squirm free.

 

Black stared at Kallen. "No. Destined needs to learn that she is."

[Tempest Dahlia]

Destined stood up. He was angry, but decided against an outburst.

"Fine. Kallen. l'm tired of arguing what's right anyway. You fools will understand soon enough..."

He leaned forward, his crimson eyes glowing an even brighter shade of red.

"Don't think i'm scared of that little toy you have there," he said in a low and malicious voice. "Yaming might have beat me by chance, but l we all know l have no problem drenching the floor with your blood and mopping it up with your mangled body."

He dispersed.

Cougar smiled, "No one can kill either of us right now. I dare you to try your luck." He knew something that neither the Professor nor Saul knew. He waited for Saul to notice how cold his skin was. *Good luck killing us in this situation. We have a special secret that we're using.*

 

Kyou crossed her legs and waited for the Professor to respond to her, *The man believes that he knows everything, well our presence tells him otherwise although he doesn't yet know it.*

 

Kallen glared at Black, "Do you know what happens if a sleeping Legendary wakes up too early or before they're ready? Do you!" From their silence she knew the answer and smiled, " I didn't think so."

[Blake]

"Cataclysm, and mass death? Why would I object?" Black asked with a toothy grin. "That, and I can get out of the way." He began to saunter off. "Don't be so high and mighty."

 

SAul felt it then and focused on Kyou, "Stop it. NOW" He growled as he sensed her power levels. "Now!" He snapped again. He pointed his crossbow arm at her.

[-Genesis-]

Kallen relaxed as Destined left and Black backed off, "Let's not bring this up again please. If you are the Western Legendary, then you can't force yourself to wake. If you do you could kill us all." She sat down knowing that what she said was harsh, but that it was true.

 

Kyou didn't react in the slightest to Saul's threat, except to smile at him, "I'm not doing anything. So what would you like me to stop doing?"

 

 

Cougar grabbed Saul's arm and brought it back behind him again, "You know if it wasn't for the fact that you two decided to talk to us here then I would have a reason to worry." He smirked at Saul, "You really don't get it do you?"

[Blake]

"..." Saul activated the crossbow blades, stabbing Cougar and himself in the process. "Want to keep going?" He growled. "Un hand me, or I'll cut us both up." He looked at the proffesor pleading.

 

Black walked up to the "Door". IT felt cold, so he heated his hands "Knock knock! Are you almost done in there?" He melted some ice along the "door". "Hello?"

[-Genesis-]

Cougar held on tight trying to make his point, "Have you noticed yet that I'm not bleeding? Maybe you'll understand if you actually cut us both to ribbons." He smiled at the thought since he knew what the outcome would be.

 

Kyou turned toward the door and made words appear on the door in the ice. We're almost done just a bit longer She then turned back to look at the Professor and continued to wait for a response.

 

Kallen laid back and thought to herself, *Destined is so rash, he's going to get himself killed because of it one day.*

 

Akima was stunned, Kallen was acting unusual. She was acting so distant from the group, it wasn't like her and now she was trying to pick a fight.

[Jake the Sage]

When the Professoer had her by the throat Kyou never made a move to strike back, nor did Couga, as they hear his cries. Was even caught off guard by the Professor's outburst and returned to his spot to the right of the Professor, "This really has him worked up . . ."

Finishing his threat Destined vanished; Kallen finally relaxing as Destined left and Black left. Sitting back down she sighed heavily and glanced at Yaming, "Let's not bring this up again please. If you are the Western Legendary, then you can't force yourself to wake. If you do you could kill us all."

 

Kallen laid back and thought to herself. Akima was stunned, Kallen was acting unusual. She was acting so distant from the group, it wasn't like her and now she was trying to pick a fight. A sudden slap made both Koya and Akima flinch as Yaming made Kallen land on the ground, her eyes filled with tears from anger. Her power was begining to boil over as her emotions ran high, "How could you!?"

[Blake]

Black's eyebrow rose. Why were they being so secretive. He melted the ice just enough so that he could hear inside, and he heard Cougar taunting Saul.

 

Saul chuckled "If you notice, neither am I." He said flatly, in contrast to the laugh. The blades on the crossbow began spinning like a buzz saw, and Saul winced, but oterwise remained the same. Then he heard the professor, and stopped the blades, making them retract.

Kyba had enough of this soldier's stupidity. Stomping over to him he lifted Ichiro off the ground by his shirt collar.

 

"What do you think he means you fool!?"

 

Looking at Ichiro with anger he was suddenly thrown back and Ichiro landed safely on the ground' date=' having Corey standing near him with a scowl aimed at Kyba.

 

"That's enough. I'll train with him for now. You two- leave!"

Still assessing the situation, Ichiro stared at Corey, whose group left by his orders. He figured that if he trained with him, he could finally see a psychic in action, but who knows how long he'd last? He decided against his better judgement. "Alright then. I'll train with you. Just one more very simple question. Who, exactly, would you be? I need a name... Obviously you know mine already."

As the professor yelled and Saul stopped fighting, Kyou glanced at Cougar and he was back at her side with a cut in his belly, but no blood. Kyou turned to the Professor, "Why do you refuse to believe that Yaming is the Western Legendary?"

 

Kallen looked up at Yaming, stunned, "What the hell all I tried to do was stop a fight and prevent a cataclysmic event!" If he angers you into waking early dammit, we all die!" She was pissed, she was trying to stop things that would cause such a problem only to end up causing one herself.

As the professor yelled and Saul stopped fighting, Kyou glanced at Cougar and he was back at her side with a cut in his belly, but no blood. Kyou turned to the Professor, "Why do you refuse to believe that Yaming is the Western Legendary?"

 

The Professor sighed and looked at Kyou as she stared at him, "Believe me Lady Kyou . . . nothing would make me happier than to have Yaming alive again. But she is dead and nothing will change that fact. I tell you again, that women isn't he-"

 

The sound of a giant roar made him stop as the tent shuttered and the sounds of soldiers yelling broke out in a violent eruption. Looking around they hear the sound of giant wings beating his eyes grew wide- the beast had returned!!!

 

Corey smiled and gave a small bow before answering, "My name is Corey. I am a simple soldier of the Northern Military and personal ambassidor to the Northern General."

 

Kallen looked up at Yaming, stunned, "What the hell all I tried to do was stop a fight and prevent a cataclysmic event!" If he angers you into waking early dammit, we all die!"

 

She was pissed, she was trying to stop things that would cause such a problem only to end up causing one herself. Koya made her stop and watched as Yaming tried not to cry, "You think you know everything about me!? How CAN you!? I don't even remember my own past!!!"

 

Standing back up Corey formed a knife out of his phycic power and raised his foot to step forward when a powerful gust took his footing out from under him. Falling face first Corey got back up and looked behind him, his phy knife vanishing, "What the hell did tha . . . by the Gods . . . what is that!?"

 

Landing a few yards from him was the giant beast, snarling as soldiers began to surround it, and it reared its massive heard just behind Yaming.

[Blake]

Saul immediately had his cloak off. "It's here..." He said, heading outside fast, with Cougars power. He hit Black on the way out, who was enamored with the beast. He touched Black by mistake and lost his speed. "Watch where you're going, Saul!" Black snapped. "Oh, shut up, John." Saul was up, and going normal speed. He realized his mistake. "Bah!" He said, and lit his hands on fire, now that he knew Black could. Black did the same, and both shot out.

[DragonJLB]

"Yaming!" Josh cried as he looked at the giant beast, "I can't do anything to help her . . ."

 

As the beast's gaze locked with his he suddenly felt a shiver run down his spine, a familiar feeling returning to him. He knew this . . . thing from somewhere . . . but where? He was at a loss for words as he froze in his spot. He knew it, from where he couldn't recall.

[-Genesis-]

As Saul left the room Cougar grabbed Kyou and was gone. They were then standing by Black and Saul. Cougar turned to them and asked the question that he didn't need mind reading power to know everyone was thinking, "What the HELL was that!" Kyou simply looked up at the creature stunned, "I thought that they were all dead."

 

Akima was watching Kallen and Yaming fight, but before Kallen could answer Yaming the giant creature landed behind her. He looked up at it, "This isn't good, this isn't good at all, Yaming!"

 

Kallen didn't hesitate all she knew was that the thing was huge and it didn't seem to be on their side so she fired her RWS claw grabbed Yaming with it and pulled her away from it.

[Blake]

"That..." Saul said "Is the Beast." He suddenly faded and was behind it. He Put a bolt on his crossbow and fired, knowing it would do know good. Then he did the same, with fire, at one of the wings.

 

Black shot straight ahead, trying to burn the beast. This was to no avail, so he backed off. Then he pulled his book out, wrote in it, and White and Red appeared. "Take that!"

Yaming was wrenched back just as the beasts claws slashed at where she had been. Roaring in anger the beast flapped its wings as everyone began to diverge on the spot, trying to attack it so it couldn't cause too much damage.

 

Koya was shaking as the creature shook off any attack that was made on it and then saw Cougar, Kyou and the rest arrive. He stood up and quickly ran to them, "Tell me that's not what I think it is!"

 

"It is," Corey called from over his shoulder, "Its a dragon!"

 

The dragon spewed flames as Black and Saul shot their flames at it, but being quickl overpowered by the raw power of the beast, and roared in anger. A sweep of its tail knocked and seriously wounded most of the common soldiers as the Professor yelled at Titanium to fetch the 'others'.
