Struggle Of Powers

Kyou stiffened when he said that he knew their every thought and such and decides to try and end the meeting as quickly as possible by getting right to the point, "Professor could you have someone show everyone to where they can stay tonight, I need to tell you of the plans, everyone else, except Destined and Cougar, can go off to rest for tomorrow, no one else is needed for now." She paused for a bit. Then started up again, "I'm going to assume that you do know the general idea of our plans." She was hoping that by cutting through to the chase and allowing everyone to leave she could get more done.

When Kyou offered for the others to go get some rest Kallen and Akima agreed and walked out of the room and set up their things not far from it.

Cougar on the other hand turned to the others and tried to shoo them out, "Go get some rest for tomorrow, we're just going to go over the plans with him."

The Professor didn't seem to notice Kyou's rashness to get everyone out of the "office" and leave him alone with Destined, Cougar, and herself. He simply agreed and went with the idea, even going so far as to dismiss the machanical Titanium and be left defensless if he was attacked.

Koya and Yaming didn't like the idea of being shooed out of the meeting or being kept in the dark, but what could they do? Neither of them knew much about warfare so it was the best idea to let them figure everything out. Looking at each other they split apart, Koya following Kallen and Akima and Yaming going off on her own; leaving Corey, Black, Saul, Darren and Kyba to find something to occupy themselves.

Now alone Destined smirked as the Professor shut the "door" and looked back at them, "Very well . . . lets begin."

As he was walking out Cougar caught Saul's arm, "You were not included in that group. We'd like you to stay as well." He then let go of Saul and walked back to Kyou's side.

Kyou decided to begin, (or not) "Destined would you please explain your plan to the professor, as it involves taking him with you." She stepped back and waited for Destined to begin.

Outside Akima laid down with Kallen across the fire, "So what do you think? Will either of these plans work?" Kallen thought about it for a moment, "Well Kyou's has a better chance of success, but Destined's seems like it would be a bit more fun then dealing with politicians."

Destined gave a grin and slammed his foot on the chair and leaned in towards the Professor, "I'm going to sell this crappy little Rebellion of yours and pocket the money."

Everyone who had heard Destined couldn't believe their ears. That wasn't the plan, at least not all of it, what he had said was more of an insult than anything else. But to their suprise the Professor began to laugh and nod his head. He stood up and began to write on a black chalk board, unerlining a final number before turning back to Destined.

"So you're going to sell me and my group for this much money?" the Professor said and even Kyou was suprised by the ammount, which ended in the sixth digits, "Or should I include you and your group into the figures?"

Destined laughed as he nodded his head, knowing the Professor understood what he had meant. Sitting down it was time for Kyou to explain her "plan" as she called it; Destined had another word for it . . . a complete waiste of time and energy. With the battle continuing on Akima and Kallen discussed over the plans they were about to take, not knowing which would be the better successor. As they talked Koya walked up in between them and sat down with a grin.

"So why are you two here all on your lonesome?"

Corey was walking around the base, getting "information" he thought would be valuable, from everyone at random and found out a few details that he would like to ask the Professor; the foremost was the giant beast everyone was so afraid of. As he walked something in the distance caught his attention, along with Kyba and Darren who had been following, so he decided to see what was going on.

Ichiro was training as three strangers came over to watch him. He was so concentrated on the old weapons the holovids showed he hardly noticed them. He took a barrel of water from his side and a large piece of steel he got from the town blacksmith and created a large longsword.

He also took a piece of straw and, with the remaining water, created 3 training dummies for himself. He started slashing away and then, once he was finished with the sword, touched the small remnants of the water to turn it back. After that was done Ichiro took a small piece of concrete he had broken off ahead of time and made a set of concrete nunchucks and started beating the second dummy with it. This continued until each dummy was destroyed, at which time, he placed them in the barrel and turned them back into water to finish his daily training.

As everyone form the Group, exept for a few, left the professor's 'Office' as it seemed. Eden and Lee never really entered the Area. They where off on the ground looking at aperintly Southern Technology and scrap shops. It seems that the Rebels are not just a fighting force but a full on Trading Operation. But oddly enough a lot of the parts he was seeing was a common sight to be seen. Power Modulus, Sensors, Compressors, Suppressors and most of all Weapons. "For a black Market, they are well stocked." Eden started to Laugh at him self. "Hay Lee just think of it about a year ago we where Traders and no look at the mess were in now." He smiling as he walked the Rebel Grounds looking for anything of interest.

As Kyou finished explaining her plan she decided that the Professor understood, "Is there anything else you need to know..." She glanced at Cougar and he nodded. In and instant he was gone, using his speed to leave and run an errand. Then she glanced at Saul with a look that told him that she planned to tell the Professor of Yaming as soon as Destined was gone.

Cougar was gone the instant that Kyou gave him the signal. He was outside the camp on a hill nearby and he wrote the message for the professor, *I had to come out here because this information is much too sensitive to risk. An unawakened Legendary is very rare indeed.* Once he finished he went back.

Cougar reappeared at Kyou's side and a small slip of paper was resting in the professor's lap where no one else could see. It said:

Professor,

We have some very sensitive information to discuss with you once we finish here. Meet Lady Kyou and myself on the hill where you met us earlier in an hour.

Cougar

P.S. Bring Saul with you.

" How much truble this rebal group will get in if they proceed this way..and some knew about it." Josh stoped and looked around, then signed." I realy need to quit talking to my self." Josh said as he sat their on the professor's head, his ghostly body resting nicely on his head.

Akima and Kallen looked up to see Koya as he sat down next between them. As he did so Akima mumbled at him so quietly that Kallen on Koya's other side couldn't hear, "Nice move jackass. That wasn't obvious at all."

Kallen smiled half-heartedly, "Oh nothing... Just talking about Destined and Kyou's separate plans. You know, how Kyou's has a better chance of succedd, but how Destined's will be more entertaining."

SAul grunted and almost pulled his right arm out during Destined's speech. The one with his custom crossbow attached, but he resisted. "Sir... do you see why I want him gone?" He asked quietly, never removing his eyes from Destined. "He's as bad as Black." He growled out, meaning John, but specifically how he now behaved, as Black.

Kyou stayed in her position as tensions rose, *Cougar's position in this matter is to remove any and all threats. That includes Destined if necessary, he told me about their last fight. I decided that a simple pressure point attack would put him unconscious, he'd be angry late, but he'll live. I'll trust Cougar to decide if it's necessary.*

Cougar was getting fed up with Destined's attitude, *If this goes on much longer I'll have to take down Destined, he'll be pissed later but he'll deal with it. Hopefully it doesn't get that bad.*

To his suprise someone was training; concentrating on the image of old weapons that the holovids had shown him.

He stopped once he heard clapping and turned to see Corey leaning on a wall with a grin, Kyba and Darren behind him, "Very well done soldier."

Destined had finished laying down his plan and Sat down; it was time for Kyou to explain her "plan" as she called it or, as Destined had called it, a complete waiste of time and energy. She was quick and brief, finishing her battle plan in half the time Destined had made his. Once finished she decided that the Professor understood, "Is there anything else you need to know?"

The Professor thought and moved a few things around on his desk as he was lost in thought. Searching with his eyes close the Professor took something and placed it inside a drawer and shut it without rousing too much suspicion. Seeing this, since he was already dead, Josh floated next to the Professor and scowled, waving his finger, "Shame on you Professor! Someone is being sneaky!"

Josh stopped talking and looked around, then signed," I really need to quite talking to my self."

"I'm fine with both plans," the Professor finally said as he glanced up at the others, "However before we go . . . we need a 'little' problem to deal with."

Kyou glanced at Cougar, with him nodding back, he was gone; using his speed to leave and run an errand. Everyone had been expecting this and now it was time to get some answers about what it was that had been causing them so much trouble. Saul grunted, having almost pulled his right arm out during Destined's speech, and stepped forward, "Sir! Do you see why I want him gone?" he asked quietly, never removing his eyes from Destined, "He's as bad as Black."

Saul had growled out, meaning John, but specifically how he now behaved as Black. The Professor didn't seem to take heed of Saul's words and stood up with a great sigh, "Saul . . . how long have you been fighting in this war? I know I've been fighting my entire life and my father before me, and his father before him and his father before him. If bringing an end to this senseless war means dealing with a few unsavory characters then so be it!"

Kyou glanced at Saul as the Professor's words sunk in. Meeting his gaze she, without a words, told him that she planned to tell the Professor of Yaming as soon as Destined was gone.

A violent gust of wind caused Koya to lose his balance as he walked to walked in between Akima and Kallen before he fell down. Sitting up he grined at both of them, "So why are you two here all on your lonesome?"

"Nice move jackass. That wasn't obvious at all," Akima mumbled at him so that Kallen couldn't hear. Laughing Koya just pushed it aside and looked at Kallen, who smiled half-heartedly back, "Oh nothing . . . just talking about Destined and Kyou's separate plans. You know, how Kyou's has a better chance of succedd, but how Destined's will be more entertaining."

"Yeah," Koya said elbowing Akima in the gut, "I actually think Destined might have something up his sleeve. He isn't someone I think who'd go and do something without at least three back-up plans."

With everyone meeting up with one person or the other, Eden and Lee never really entered the camp. Instead they where off looking at apparently Southern Technology and scrap shops. "It seems that the Rebels are not just a fighting force, but a full on Trading Operation," he thought as he shifted through the piles of 'junk'. Oddly enough a lot of the parts he was seeing were a common sight, power modulus, sensors, compressors, suppressors and all normal type Weapons, "For a 'Black Market', they are well stocked."

Eden started to Laugh at himself as a flash zipped by him, too fast for him to notice, "Hey Lee! Just think about it! A year ago we where Traders and now look at the mess were in."

Eden was smiling as he walked the Rebel Grounds, looking for anything of interest. However he wasn't alone . . . at least two others were watching him.

Cougar appeared outside the camp on a hill nearby, writing the message tp the Professor, "I had to come out here because this information is too sensitive to risk lightly. An unawakened Legendary is very rare indeed . . ." Once finished Cougar raced back to the halls; a set of mechanical eyes following his every movement. Not noticing he reappeared at Kyou's side and a small slip of paper was resting in the Professor's lap where no one else could see. Grinning at their attempt to be sneaky he read it:

"Professor,

We have some very sensitive information to discuss with you once we finish here. Meet Lady Kyou and myself on the hill where you met us earlier in an hour.

Cougar

P.S. Bring Saul with you."

The Professor burnt the note and turned to Destined with a kind smile, "Would you mind giving me and the others a few minute in private?"

"Sure," Destined said to everyone's suprise as he shrugged his shoulders, "I can tell when I'm not wanted. Don't have too much fun without me kiddies."

Destined let out a laugh as he knocked over a vial and left. Kyou stayed in her position as everyone watched him leave, "Damn Destined! If he tries anything . . . a simple pressure point attack would put him unconscious, he'd be angry late, but he'll live." Cougar was getting fed up with Destined's attitude. However, now alone, the Professor turned to the three and smiled.

"Now what was it that you wanted to tell me?"

Ichiro turned in suprise as he heard Corey applaud him. Recreating the longsword he had earlier he got into a fighting stance, prepared to attack the three if need be, "Who are you and what are you doing here!? And trust me, you do NOT want to get that question wrong!"

Not sure if they were friends or some incredibly dumb enemies he decided to wait for a response before making a final decision.

Kallen smiled at Koya, "You're probably right that Destined has backup plans, but iit would be nice if he'd share those backups with us." Akima nodded, "Yeah and how much you want to bet that one of those backup plans is just go all out and try to crush the leaders with pure force."

Kyou smiled and turned to Saul, "Well I wish to thank you for keeping your word and not telling him. If you'll give me a moment to make sure we cannot be interrupted or overheard." She closed her eyes for a second and then a layer of ice formed over the inside of the walls and door. "Now we can speak freely, that ice is a weak but sound-proof kind. We wanted to inform you that one of our party is the dormant form of the Western Legendary, also known as the legendary of peace."

As Kyou iced over the walls and door, Cougar relaxed, *That ice is sound-proof, not even a high-pitched scream would get though that.* He stepped back and leaned against the wall and relaxed.

As Destined left, Saul had whipped his arm and crossbow out. He realized his mistake, and quickly corrected it. "Hn..." He said to Kyou. "Does it matter if I tell him or not? He knows many things as you can already tell." Saul stood solemnly as he spoke. "Now if you will, sir." He said bowing and stepping back to whence he came.

Black was outside waiting for DEstined. "So, what did you learn?" He asked with a sneer.

Ichiro turned in suprise as he heard Corey applaud him. Quickly he prepared to attack the three if need be, "Who are you and what are you doing here!?"

Not sure if they were friends or some incredibly dumb enemies he decided to wait for a response before making a final decision. He was taken aback when Corey bagan to laugh and walked towards him with his arms raised above his head, "I don't mean any harm. We're actually here to help you."

"You're probably right. That Destined . . . he always has back-up plans. But it would be nice if he'd share them with us," Kallen said with a smile at Koya. Akima nodded his head and added in that he would be willing to bet that one of those plans was to go all out and crush the leader with pure brute strength. This comment gave everyone a good laugh, knowing that it was most likely his number one back-up plan, and said something about Destined.

"Or maybe he is planning on getting reinforcements?" Yaming said from a tree close enough to them to startle Koya. Flipping from the tree's branches Yaming landed in front of the three and quickly sat back down with a grin, getting applause from the others for her preformance, "So . . . guys . . . I have a question I need to ask. But you HAVE to promise not to tell anyone! OK!?"

"Would you mind giving me and the others a few minute in private?" The Professor asked Destined after burning the note.

"Sure," Destined said to everyone's suprise as he shrugged his shoulders, "I can tell when I'm not wanted. Don't have too much fun without me kiddies."

As Destined left, sneezing once when Kallen mentioned his name, he closed the tent 'door' and vanished into the night. Saul had whipped his arm and crossbow out to ensure he left; but realized his mistake and quickly corrected it. Now that their main concern was out of the way he looked at Kyou.

"Hmmm . . . Does it matter if I tell him or not? He knows many things as you can already tell," Saul asked solemnly.

"I am not sure. Though I wish to thank you for keeping your word and not telling him," Kyou said as she walked around the tent, "Now if you'll give me a moment to make sure we can't we interrupted or overheard . . ."

Nodding, getting more and more excited to hear the news neither wanted anyone else to hear, the Professor motioned for her to take whatever steps she needed to feel comfertable. Kyou closed her eyes for a second as a layer of ice formed over the inside of the walls and door, "Now we can speak freely, that ice is a weak but sound-proof kind."

"Sound proof . . . but not ghost proof," Josh laughed as he watched the ice form over the walls, a shiver running down his ghostly spin. With Kyou's ice over the walls and door, Cougar relaxed and leaned against the wall, "That ice is sound-proof, not even a high-pitched scream would get though that."

"Now if you will, sir." Saul bowed and stepped back to whence he came.

"We wanted to inform you that one of our party is the dormant form of the Western Legendary, also known as the legendary of peace."

Though this information was supposed to be stunning and an incredible revilation the Professor didn't even bat an eye. He stared at them both, almost as if he was mulling over the information, and finally gave a sigh before getting up. Digging through the piles of unsorted papers the Professor finally found an old picture amongst the files and looked down at it, a small smile appearing on his face, and then handed it over to Kyou. As she looked at it, Saul and Cougar looking over her shoulder, they all saw that it was Yaming in a dress with children all around her. The picture had faded and much of the color with it, but there was no mistake that it was Yaming.

"You're refering to her?" he asked already knowing the answer. When they nodded and started to speak he motioned for them to stop. He took the picture and fell back into his chair, giving a long sigh while staring at the picture, "This is the Western Legendary. However . . . for the women in your party to be the same person is completely impossible."

Destined had tried to overhear the converstaion, but once the ice formed he had lost his chance. Turning to leave he spotted Black waiting for him, "So? What did you learn?"

Destined scowled as his 'subordinant' sneered at him. Walking past Black he masked his anger, enough for it not to be notice, and answered, "Enough . . ."

Marching onward through the camp Destiend knew whatever Kyou was discussing . . . it had something to do with Yaming. And he was going to find out what it was- One way or another.

Corey grinned as he tapped his head, making Ichiro even more confused, and finally answered.

"Well I'm a phycic. I can read your mind," he laughed as Ichiro was stunned that he was in the presence of a mind reader. He had heard stories of people with this kind of power, but he had never seen someone like that in real life. From what he knew all of them had somehow been killed long ago- yet here was one in front of him.

"Are you going to just stand there staring or are you going to accept his offer!?" Kyba yelled as he tapped his foot impatiently; Darren adding in with his common 'yeah'.

Kyba had enough of this soldier's stupidity. Stomping over to him he lifted Ichiro off the ground by his shirt collar.

"What do you think he means you fool!?"

Looking at Ichiro with anger he was suddenly thrown back and Ichiro landed safely on the ground, having Corey standing near him with a scowl aimed at Kyba.

"That's enough. I'll train with him for now. You two- leave!"

Akima and Kallen nodded to Yaming, "Sure, we'll keep it quiet what's the question?" The were extremely curious, it wasn't like Yaming to keep secrets.

Kyou smiled at the professor, "Let's say I believe you for a minute, why is it impossible?" In her mind Kyou's attitude was completely different, *You're a fool professor, she possesses the ability to negate the powers of others completely the only person to ever be able to do that is the Western Legendary. Many of our group have felt the weakness that comes with being affected by that power.*

Cougar stiffened as he noticed the slight difference in Kyou's demeanor. They couldn't afford a fight with the rebels, it would go on until one side was decimated, and with all the power in their little group he knew that it wouldn't be their little group that would be decimated.

The Professor stood and slammed his hand on the desk, giving a long sigh, and rubbed were his glasses rested. Kyou had possibly thought he was prepared to yell, but he never did, and just looked away sadly.

"Its impossible because . . . Yaming . . . is dead," he finally said while looking at the photo, stunning everyone who had heard.

Yaming smiled and looked back over her shoulder, making sure no one was within ear shot, before continuing.

"Well . . . there is something a few people said that is troubeling me," she stared at both of them and nodded, "I've heard them saying I'm supposed to be the Legendary of the West. But . . . it doesn't make sense at all."

Kyou shook her head, "You're wrong Professor. If you were right then she wouldn't be here at all, but she is, which in and of itself proves you wrong. Besides my grandfather has been around since before your father was born, you really expect me to believe you over him?" She was annoyed at the arrogance of the Professor, "If you believe you're right tell me why you think that." Her anger was now obvious to everyone in the room

Cougar was now completely on guard with Kyou's temper rising, he hoped that he wouldn't have to try and hold her back. That definitely wasn't going to be the easiest thing in the world to do.

Akima was just plain confused at Yaming's words, but Kallen looked away, *I suspected as much, the General was always talking about the Western Legendary and her power. And he even had a picture of the legendary in his office. I recognized Yaming before, but until she said it out loud I never made the connection between the picture in his office and Yaming.*

Saul knew that his boss was right, but how? "Sir..." He began before Kyou had outburst. Then he glared at her. "Quiet, Kyou. Calm Down, or I will have to take drastic measures." HE continued to stare at her Unwavering for a moment, then turned to the professor. "Sir, I've seen her. I even read the mind of the general. When I asked him if she was the Western Legendary, he immediately put up defenses in his mind." He finished with, "So how are you sure?"
