Struggle Of Powers

[Jake the Sage]

Destined grined at the thought of having to fight Black, and didn't even consider him a threat, as they began to walk through a long fallen building. Sharp glass was everywhere and they had to step lightly or risk being sliced clean open.

 

More than once they had to go out of their way because the path became too hazardous and once they came out of the building the sky was already darkening with the setting sun. Yaming looked around her as they stars began to shine and sighed, "Guess we won't make it there tonight."

 

"I wouldn't be so sure," Koya said pointing to what looked like a small village in the distance amongst a field of wheat.

Eden nodded to Kyou, and decided to put his questions aside. "All right..." He said as he walked back to the group. "When do we leave?"

[-Genesis-]

Natalie and Aya lowered their heads and Natalie stepped forward, "I'm sorry that we're l held them up with questions. I'm sorry about that."

 

Kallen calmed down, but smiled, *You're really lucky I wasn't there Corey or this would have happened to you..." She remembered how she'd annihilated an entire squad of Western Soldiers mercilessly, hoping that he was reading her thoughts and seeing how badly she tore them apart, some of them quite literally. *But thank you for turning them around or I might never have come across them.*

 

Kyou looked over their small group and walked up toward Saul wanting to ask him when they'd be slitting into their groups, but she had enough self respect not to interrupt Destined, besides she also wanted to hear Saul and Black's connection.

Corey laughed uneasily, having recieved the mental memory from Kallen, and then nodded his head, "yeah . . . sure . . . no problem . . . happy to help."

 

"Guys!" Yaming yelled as they reached the top, "We're here!"

 

Looking down everyone could see rebel forces scurrying about doing who knows what and guarding everyone as the wheat surrounding them bent and swayed in the breeze. There was no doubt about it . . . they had found the Southern Rebels.

" Well YE'HA!!! Were finaily gona meet the southern rebels," Josh yelled Right over Yaming. JOsh was getting tired of not being heard, or noticed. " This is the worst punishment then when I forgot Yaming birthday." Josh sivered at the memory of the event. " Well what is every one waiting for?" JOsh said Laying back above every one.

[Blake]

When everyone else stared at the Base, Saul just kept walking. It wasn't awesome (Awe-Some) to him, as he had seen it many times. He simply yawned and strutted in nonchalantly.

 

Black, never one to be shown up, was the first to follow Saul. While ironic, he would not let Saul be the "First one" in. He warped in front of Saul and marched mockingly. This was probably a bad idea.

[-Genesis-]

Kyou walked up to Saul and spoke with a slightly menacing tone, "When will we be splitting into our groups and head out for our separate missions?" *In truth I just want to get moving, all this waiting is simply annoying.* She walked with him waiting for a response.

 

Akima and Kallen walked together looking at their surroundings trying to memorize the landscape. Then Akima turned to look at Kallen, *I wonder what she's thinking about, and what was she talking about earlier about 'what he thought' of Kyou and Eden. Was she asking his opinion or something else?*

 

Cougar had been to the South many times, but even he looked around at the destroyed land, *Is this all due to the civil war? They're killing the the very land itself.*

[Blake]

SAul shrugged. "I don't know... they are your plans. You tell me." He said emotionessly as he just kept walking.

 

Black coughed. "I agree with Kyou." He growled out.

[Jake the Sage]

"Guys!" Yaming yelled as they reached the top, "We're here!"

Akima and Kallen walked together looking at their surroundings trying to memorize the landscape and then Akima turned to look at Kallen thinking about what she was talking abvout eariler with Kyou and Eden.

 

As they reached the bottom of the hill Koya looked to the sky, having to shield his eyes from the glarring sun, and pointed up, "What's that?"

 

Glancing up everyone paused as a large black dot began to grow bigger and bigger as it fell towards them. Realizing what it was before everyone else Destined turned to Koya and threw him out of the way before yelling at everyone else, "Move! Now!"

 

With a loud crash the thing slammed into the round and caused all kinds of debris to be flung everywhere. The sound of gears and metal moving against each other could be heard as it rose from the crator, a mechanical voice calling out to them, "Identify yourselves!"

[-Genesis-]

 

Kyou immediately was ready for battle, "Dammit! What the hell is that thing! Destined, I'll freeze parts of it and you hit those parts with your fire! They'll melt faster!" The bottom of her shoes became like skates and she skated all over, on the ground and in the air, because an ice path appeared just infront of her wherever she went now. She used this to start freezing points along it's legs and body, hoping that Destined would actually trust her and listen.

 

Backed off and was about to try and talk to the thing when he saw Kyou start attacking it, "Wait!" He then noticed Kallen activate her Glidewings and fly at the thing ready to fight.

 

Kallen was there in the air flying around the things head, "Son of a... you could have killed us!" *What the hell is that thing?*

[Blake]

Saul ran to Black and touched him. "STOP!!!!" He yelled. "Do not Attack!" With that, Saul warped in front of the machine "Saul, Titanium. It's Saul. Let me and my acquaintences pass." He stood solemnly then turned around. "Don't attack it." He warped on top of the machine. "It's a guard, no more."

[Jake the Sage]

Everyone paused as the machine looked down at Saul and scanned him. Koya gave a loud nervious gulp and looked to Kallen, "What do you think?"

 

Destined didn't care what he said as his hands sprung to life with flames and he shot them at Titanium, aiming for the feet, and melted the ice Kyou had formed there. Snapping his hands the fire went out as Darren cheered on. Titanium didn't seem to be bothered with the flames as he finished his scan.

 

Moving his hand to his chest the machine bowed and answered, "Master Saul. You should have sent a message beforehand."

[Blake]

Saul stared up at the big machine. "Sorry about that, big guy. Do me a favor? You see that guy?" Saul motioned to Destined. "Don't let him in. He's a nuisance, trust me." HE began to walk. "Come on." He called to the rest of the group.

 

Black was fuming. "I am so sick of him doing that!" He said, meaning borrowing Teleportation. HE just followed the group, and saw Titanium blocking Destined.

Destined was in a rage when he heard Saul say not to be let in. HIs hands were quickly on fire again and pointed at Saul, "What do you mean by that!?"

 

Everyone had to stop again when Destined called Saul out, making Titanium stand between the two; Yaming began to wonder if a fight was inevitable.

" cool...hmmm i think ...evil hat guy will win." josh said looking the robot over." then again you have alot of bulk to ya." Josh couldn't figure out who would win.

[Blake]

"And I thought you were smart." Saul said without emotion. "A. I said you aren't allowed in, because you are a nuisance. B. A Giant Machine which your fancy purple flames can't hurt will attack you if you try to enter. And C. Tthis is my area. I'm a beloved Lieutenant here. you attack me, and you have more enemies than you can count." He finished his deadpan speech by turning to enter the base.

 

Black just stared, mouth agape. He was surprised he talked to Destined like that, but moreso that he wasn't also made to wait outside by Saul.

[Jake the Sage]

"You may be a Leutenant Saul, but you forget we need all the help we can get," came a voice from behind the massive Titanium. As the man came around Saul and Corey saluted him as he gave them a nod, continuing to walk, finally standing in front of everyone.

 

"Who the hell are you?" Destined asked as his flames flickered in the breeze. Koya, Yaming, and everyone else was suprised by Destined's blunt attitude as the man smiled at the insult.

 

"My name is Professor Bill," he said smugly, "And I am the leader of the Southern Rebels."

[Blake]

Saul, surprisingly, growled at Destined "Mind your manners, you nuisance." This was partially why he did not want Destined around. "Sir, this man is evil. Trust me, I have sources." He glanced at Black in his peripheral. "Also, sir, I have to report to you as soon as possible."

 

Black looked at the man, then Destined.

[-Genesis-]

As Saul mentioned that he had to report she walked over and whispered to him, "Do not tell him about Yaming, you may tell him that you have special information, but I have heard of this man and he will acknowledge the fact that that information isn't yours to share. If you do share such information with anyone without the consent of either my grandfather, Mitch, or myself I will kill you, understand! You don't seem to understand the danger of that bit of information." With that she turned and walked back a bit, *I may have to keep an eye on him, even if it means splitting myself again.*

 

Akima watched as Kallen landed next to him and the Glidewings folded back into her suit. *You know, that's still so cool, all of Todou's inventions are.*

 

Kallen looked up at the machine, *It's pretty big, but I could still beat it, I might use up what's left of my energy filler though.* She then looked at the man calling himself the rebel leader, *He doesn't look like much, but then again, neither do Lora, Aya, Natalie, or even Akima.*

[Blake]

Saul resisted a scoff. "I am more loyal to him than you, but I shall hold that info..." Saul mumbled. He then walked over to his leader, and stood behind him and to the right.

 

Black chuckled. "YOU Are the leader? You don't look like it professor." Black smirked, and received a snap from Saul. "Watch it, John!" to which Black replied "BLACK!"

[-Genesis-]

Kyou relaxed as Saul agreed to with-hold the information and whispered a thank you. She then got ready for diplomacy and stepped toward the professor, "Greetings Professor Bill, I am Lady Kyou of the North. I am pleased that you would be so willing to risk yourself to come out here and meet us. Shall we go inside?" She Noticed that Cougar was standing at her right shoulder, as he was a member of the Elite Northern Guard it was his duty to watch over Kyou until they separated for their separate parts of the mission.

 

Cougar's eyes were constantly moving, evaluating possible ambush points and examining the Professor for the possibility of hidden weapons. He was an Elite Northern Guard and it was his duty to protect Kyou no matter what. Without Natalie around he didn't have to worry about sacrificing his charge to protect her.

 

Kallen pulled her cloak over her right arm, hoping that the Professor wouldn't recognize it and remember all of the Southerners that she'd killed while following the orders of the West in order to protect her friends. *Please don't let them recognize me, please, please, please.*

 

Akima noticed Kallen's jitteryness, "Hey Kallen what's wrong with you?" She turned to him, "I don't want to be recognized, you see before I ran away from the West the second time and met you guys, they held my friends captive in order to secure my obedience and sent me against the South many times. That was before the civil war broke out."

[Jake the Sage]

"Sir, this man is evil. Trust me, I have sources." He glanced at Black in his peripheral. "Also, sir, I have to report to you as soon as possible."

 

Bill merely brushed the issue aside Saul then noted he needed to report to him as quickly as possible. Hearing this Kyou walked over and whispered to him that he shouldn't mention Yaming possibly being the Western Legendary and then thought she might have to keep an eye on him until he agreed to withhold the information. Afterwards he walked over to his leader and stood behind him and to the right.

 

"You're the leader? You don't look like it professor" Black smirked and received a snap from Saul.

 

"Watch it, John!"

 

"Black!"

 

Bill couldn't help but laugh when Black questioned if he was the Rebel Leader and Saul's reaction to it. He was about to retort to Black when Kyou interrupted him and began to act all diplomatic and stepped toward the professor. As she did the machine, Titanium, moved in between them and got in a defensive stance. The tension quickly rose as Kallen looked up at the machine, trying to figure if she could take it, "It's pretty big, but I could still beat it . . . I might use up what's left of my energy filler though." Bill shook his head and patted Titanium on his shoulders before telling him everything was alright; too which the machine backed off.

 

"Greetings Professor Bill, I am Lady Kyou of the North. I am pleased that you would be so willing to risk yourself to come out here and meet us. Shall we go inside?"

 

Agreeing Bill lead everyone through the random tents and finally to his "office", all the while Cougar's eyes were constantly evaluating possible ambush points and examining the Professor for the possibility of hidden weapons, while everyone else noticed the massive amounts of people either wounded or sick. Koya couldn't help take note of the foul stench of dead bodies being carried by the wind; one could only imagine the source. Soon they found themselves in the middle of the complex of tents. Stepping inside everyone could see it looked like a room in a hotel, though cluttere with no many maps, vials, herbs and what-nots that there was hardly room enough for them to fit inside.

 

As Bill was sitting down Kallen pulled her cloak over her right arm, hoping that the Professor wouldn't recognize it and remember all of the Southerners that she'd killed while following the orders of the West in order to protect her friends. Waiting for Bill to get adjusted Akima had noticed Kallen's jitteryness, "Hey Kallen what's wrong with you?"

 

"I don't want to be recognized." was the only thing she whispered before Bill clapped his hands with a smile; having noticed Destined had followed.

 

"Well . . . this is something I'd never think I'd see in my lifetime. An Elite Northern Guard, the Great Great Granddaughter of the Northern General, the Wanderer from the East, the West's Secret Weapon, and so many more," as the Professor spoke he motioned to Cougar, Kyou, Destined, Kallen and everyone else respectively.

Kyou smiled as the professor rattled off some of their titles, "You seem to know a great deal more than you should professor, may I inquire as to how that is? I'm curious you see because only my title and position was ever made known to you, or to Saul for that matter."

 

Cougar stiffened as the professor mentioned and Elite Northern Guard, *How does he know, I'm not in uniform, I don't look in the slightest like most of the other guards, and I'm not even acting like one. If I was when that machine thing stepped in front of Kyou earlier I would have used my speed and caught the professor and ordered the creature down for the professor's life.*

 

At the professors mention of the West's secret weapon she reached up with her left hand and pulled he cloak tighter around herself, *Dammit! He knows. No what do I do, they can't just forgive me for killing hundreds of them just because I was following orders to protect friends.*

 

Akima was also stunned, *How the heck does he know all that? Saul doesn't even know all that!*

[Blake]

Saul registered all of the shock and let out a soft chuckle. "Please, the professor knows more than I do. By far." He glanced at Kyou, then Yaming, and back to Kyou.. "He even knows who 'Black' is, don't you?" He asked with a small smirk. Amusement showed on his face. "I only went to form a treaty, and to see if you could be trusted, though I suspect the Professor knew more than he let on when he sent me." Meaning Black.

[Jake the Sage]

The Professor merely smiled and held out his hand to Kallen and asked if he could see. Before she was able to answer he had gotten up from his seat and revealed her RWS, much to her emberrassment, and didn't seem either angry or shocked. He simply looked over it and then placed the cloak back over it, walked over to his seat again and sat down.

 

He got a bit of amusement seeing everyone's stunned faces at how he knew so much without being told. Pointing to Corey he explained that he had been giving him messages since before they even got there and that he knew a lot more; he actually stated "Everything you have said or thought about since leaving the North I know about". Glarring Corey began to sweat and tried to convince everyone he wasn't doing anyhting of the short.

 

With everyone crowding Corey and about to get their "revenge" Destined began to laugh and laugh loudly. Kyba looked over to his boss and was suprised that Destined wasn't able to stop laughing. Finishing in a menacing chuckle he looked to the Professor, "I get your deal . . ."

 

"Oh? Do you?"

 

"You're like that fool from the West, Andrew. I'd wager you're just as smart." he said. the Professor gave a nod and admitted he was able to find everything out just by simply observing them for a few minutes. He waved his hand and told them he didn't want to bore them with the details. Having told the truth everyone apologized to Corey, much to his relief, and went onto buisness.
