Struggle Of Powers

[Blake]

Saul was dazed, but started at the most important point. "Umm... you dropped her." He said politely, motioning to Natalie. "And you are stronger than that guy Mitch. I sense powers, and you are definitely stronger, at least potentially. I'm not insulting you, for you look not a day over 25, but I can't alter facts. Stay away from Destined, and moreso, John, er Black. They will both use you, Destined I'm not sure how, and Black to restore his powers I took from him. Trust me, that's the last thing we want."

 

He had picked up Natalie while speaking. "Now, where are we headed woith her?"

[Untraceable]

This new thought entering his mind, Keith started to become nervous. "Where am I?" He judged that he could pretty easily get them to let go of him if he used some fire, but he didn't want to start a fight, not while he was in this state.

[Jake the Sage]

Yaming paused for a moment, her anger seething, and realized she did drop Natalie. That fact alone made her anger go away and she apologized quickly to her, then turned her attention to Saul. Hearing him out she shrugged her shoulder while pointing the way.

 

"Potentially doens't count. I think you're born a Legendary- not become one. And Mitch said himself she was dead," Yaming looked over to Saul, "And do I look dead to you?"

 

"No . . . but I do!" Josh said floating behind them. He had been following . . . err . . . haunting Yaming for a while now.

[Blake]

"No, you don't look dead. And you were born one, but something is stopping you. The funny thing is this: The general was about to tell me something when Mitch came in and shut him up. I also, using Corey's powers, read the generals mind. His mind said that the Western Legendary was alive. And you emit the energy of a legendary. I have a feeling Destined knows more than we do... Has he ever tried to, quote unquote, befriend you?" Saul asked as he carried Natalie. He thought.

[Jake the Sage]

Yaming shook her head as she thought about what Saul had said. She admitted no previous times he had tried to brefriend her- and was becoming more uncomfertable with the topic.

 

"I'm not a Legendary . . . and neither Mitch or the General have done anything to make us distrust them."

[Blake]

"Fine. I understand you have no reason to believe a newcomer, but at least believe this. John is not your friend. If anything, he is your enemy. No matter what he has done to help in the past." Saul kept following with Natalie

 

"Also, I'm surprised you haven't asked me why I keep calling John by that name, rather than Black." He stayed solemn.

[Jake the Sage]

Yaming blinked a couple times before finally giving an emberrassed laugh and scratched the back of her head, "Oh . . . John is Black. I thought you were talking about someone I'd never met."

 

Walking through the halls they finally found Cougar and told him everything- finishing with that everyone had planned on meeting at the front gates and leave in two different directions.

[Blake]

"Nope, he's 'Black'" Saul said with disdain, although it was covered. "An old friend of mine... but he's not the same. I wish he was though. Saved me a few times myself."

 

When they arrived at COugar's location, Saul just said "I'm Saul." And nothing else.

 

Black was also in the area, and watchin Saul carefully. Black thought.

"what happened to him?" Yaming asked as they rounded a corner to head to the meeting spot.

 

Though she had asked about Black's past she couldn't help wondering about everything that was going on. Was she really the Western Legendary? She would think about her childhood and never saw anything that pointed it out, yet the thought drove her nuts with the possability; and impossability.

[Blake]

"Well... John was basically my brother. I was an orphan, and he brought me to his family who took me in. I grew up with him. Then after going off to study humanity and the mind, he came back with black rather than red hair and dressed as he is now. Me and him got into a fight and.... well.... I had to seal most of his powers, but it took a heavy toll. I'm weak now." He looked a little down for a moment, and then solemn again.

[Jake the Sage]

Yaming heard the last few bits, having broken from her own thoughts, and was able to fill in the rest with pretty accurate guesses. Thinking about another questions she smiled and held her hands behind her waist.

 

"So is there any way for you to get your powers back to full strength?"

[Blake]

"Not that I know of, but I can tell you can seal powers. I'm sure That's why John is interested in you, if he is.-"

 

He was cut off "THE NAME IS BLACK! Uh-oh..." Black said and warped away.

 

"And he hates being called John. NO clue why though." He chuckled "Just watch it. He was very strong before, and I was too, but he was almost legendary then..."

[-Genesis-]

Cougar took Natalie with a kind nod to Yaming and a glare at Saul, *I don't know who that guy is, but I've got a bad feeling about him." When he arrived at their room he laid Natalie on the bed and waited for her to wake up. Eventually she sat up and looked blankly at him, "Are your sure you're okay, how can this be right if it hurts you so much?" Natalie smiled weakly, "I'm fine now, but you have to come back. I know this sounds selfish, but I want you to promise me that even if it means abandoning the others you will come back to me." She knew that what she was asking could mean leaving the others to die, but she refused to keep on living if Cougar didn't come back alive. Cougar was torn, of all the things she could of asked this was the last thing he'd expected, but he agreed nonetheless. "Good, now go, you can't be late." She smiled weakly again as he turned and walked out of the room.

 

As he walked past by the guardroom he asked Braun if he would watch over Natalie while he was gone.

 

Kallen and Akima were already waiting at the departure site, wondering who was telling the truth, Mitch or Saul? They'd followed Saul and Yaming trying to learn more about Saul, but they got a lot more than they bargained for.

Kyou smiled at Eden and then noticed the time, "Damn we have to leave, now!" Without waiting for a response she grabbed him and held him close again as an ice flower formed around them and closed. Then it opened again revealing Eden and Kyou to everyone who was already waiting.

Even though the Hunger that Eden had somewhat subsided he looked over to Kyou that was actually sitting on the other side. He paused for his eating and looked up form his Eyes to see that she was actually there. From his hunched over position against the plate he wiped his mouth off with his left Arm Coat. A trade mark of the waste. After wipiing his mouth he sat strait up to look at Kyou. "Ahh, Do you want som..." He looked down at his plate, or now empty plate. "Ahh sorry about that." He noticed the burn on Kyou's arm. "Hay what happened?"

After he wiped his mouth on his sleeve Kyou shook her head and pulled out a cloth and offered it to him. "No thank you, I'm fine, besides you were so ravagingly hungary you scared Hitosi." She smiled at him, but when he noticed the burn and mentioned it she tried to cover it up, "Oh it's nothing, don't worry about it." She slipped her sleeve back over the burn trying to hide it from him, *Why do I feel so odd when I'm around him? I haven't felt like this in years, not since Serio died.* Kyou stood up and walked over to her desk, pulled out a key, and unlocked a drawer. She made sure to not let him see exactly what it was as she slipped it into a satchel, along with other things such as books and a few knives. Putting the satchel band over he shoulder she turned back to Eden, "Are you packed for the mission?"

 

After getting Braun's word that he'd keep an eye on Natalie, Cougar headed down to the departure point to meet the others.

[Blake]

Saul asked Yaming, "Which of these groups are you going with? I'm going to tag along with one." Then he thought about it. "Which one has John and that Destined fellow?" He asked her as they walked.

 

He thought.

 

"C'mon!" Black called to no one in particular, out of boredom.

[-Genesis-]

 

Akima and Kallen walked up to Saul and Yaming. Akima smiled and answered Saul's question, "Destined and Black are in the slave group, so are Yaming and I. If you want to avoid Black then you want to go with Kyou, Eden, Lee, and Kallen here." As Akima said her name Kallen smiled at Saul and waved at him with her RWS arm.

 

Kyou looked down at Eden's shocked face and laughed, "Don't worry with you current problems I decided to pack for you." She pulled out a backpack and opened it to show him his belongings, "I hope you don't mind I grabbed it all from your room." With that she held the backpack out to him with one hand and she held out her other hand for him to grab so that she could transport them to the meeting place.

If you say its fine its fine.He shock his head to Kyou's responce and took the cloth and mostly just wiped his Coat Arm with it. After he was done with it he just tossed it on to the table. "ahh sorry about that." He shock his head as he got up form the chair. "Ya Lee has every thing..." He paused for a moment as he garbed his backpack form Kyou. "Okay then so witch way do we go to get out of here." He said as he started to walked to the door.

Kyou smiled at Eden and started laughing, "It would take ten minutes for us to make it there on foot even if we ran." She smiled at him and wondered, *It's so easy, he makes me feel so different. It just seems natural now, I haven't even known him that long and I feel as if I understand Cougar and Natalie's bond. I want to make a move, but I'm just not sure if it's a good idea.* She stepped toward him and held out her hand, "Shall we leave?"

 

Cougar arrived at th departure site just as Akima told Saul the groups. "Yes and Saul, I'll be going with Kyou's group for a while before splitting off to meet with the rebels."

Eden nodded to Kyou as he looked though his back making sure everything that was in there was supposed to be in there. Well everything seems to be fine in there. He looked at Kyou "Well thanks. Everything seems to be in there." He paused as he looked at Kyou. for a really long moment that seemed like an hour. But Eden garbed her hand, she felt the amount of Electricity going though him and in to her. But it did not hurt but actually felt good. "so shall we go?"

[-Genesis-]

Kyou smiled brightly, "Of course..." As the ice flower's petals formed and closed around them Kyou looked at Eden as she held him close, "You know, I think that with some training you may be able to use your power to transport youself like this, but in a flash of light instead of inside a flower. I believe that any elemental can use it." The flower petals then opened revealing the two of them so close together to the others who were waiting for them.

 

Cougar turned to see the flower and was stunned to see Eden in her arms, *What do you know, maybe she will give it another try after all.* He smiled remembering the first time he met her and Serio, *It's as if she's becoming that person all over again.*

[Blake]

"Could you tell me whuch one of you is Kyou?" Saul asked, emotionlessly. "I do want to avoid John at all costs. And what did you mean 'slave group'? I just know that there is a split coming." He finished.

 

Black finally saat down and began to read.

[-Genesis-]

Akima laughed, "Ok the plan is that one group will act as slaves taking the Rebel Leader with them hoping to be bought and end up in the main city so as to get a chance at the Southern General and the other leaders. The other group will be acting as an envoy group going to make a treaty, but when the time comes, they will kill off the General and the leaders. Combinig either plan with a complete offensive by the Southern Rebels led by Cougar over here." He gestured to Cougar who Saul should recognize as the one who said Kyou's name. Akima continued, "Both plans have been agreed upon by the rebels. So once Cougar makes contact with them he will use his power to get the Rebel Leader to the slave group and then return to the rebels."

 

Cougar called over to Saul as Akima finished the plan overview, "And Saul! That's Kyou." He shook his head at the giant ice flower that had just appeared out of the ground, and then pointed at the woman that appeared inside it.

 

Kyou looked up at her name, "What is it, Cougar?"

 

Cougar smiled at her, "Oh nothing, this guy just didn't know who you were." He gestured at Saul. Then he stood up and gestured at Kyou, "Saul, may I introduce, Kyou the grandaughter of the Northern General."

[Blake]

SAul bowed. "Nice to meet you ma'am." He said simply. "You are going for a treaty? Take me." He stood up solemnly. "I am a know Rebel. If you take me as a prisoner, things will be easier for you." He offered himself up. "What do you think?" He proposed the question once more.

[Jake the Sage]

"So is there any way for you to get your powers back to full strength?"

 

"Not that I know of, but I can tell you are able to seal powers away. I'm sure that's why John is interested in you, if he i-"

 

Saul was cut off as Black walked towards them and yelled before warping away, "The Name Is Black!"

 

"And . . . he hates being called John; Though I have no clue why," Saul finished and then chuckled, "Just watch it, he was very strong before and I was too, but he was almost Legendary then . . ."

 

Yaming nodded as she tried to imagine Black with that much power. Yet each time the image in her mind transformed from Black to herself. Hearing a scream, though only inside her head, Yaming shivered and looked around to make sure it was only in her mind. Giving a nervious laugh she looked at Saul, "That is kinda scarry."

 

"Hey! Its about time you two!" Koya called as he and the rest stood at the gates. Once again the two got nasty glares from Destined and his group; who natrually had to wait for everyone else. Kallen and Akima had begun to wonder who was telling the truth, Mitch or Saul? They'd followed the two, though being very discreet, and tried to learn more about Saul; but they got a lot more than they bargained for when he began to talk about Black's past.

 

"Sorry! We had to drop Natalie off!" Yaming said as she waved, took hold of Saul's hand, and ran the rest of the way to meet them, "Now all we are missing is Eden, Lee and Cougar and we can be on our way."

 

Sneezing as his name was spoken Cougar wiped his nose while he took laid Natalie on the bed and waited for her to wake up. It wasn't long before she sat up and looked blankly at him, "Are your sure you're okay Natalie? How can this be right if it hurts you so much?"

 

"I'm fine now, but you have to come back. I know this sounds selfish, but I want you to promise me that even if it means abandoning the others you will come back to me." Natlie knew that what she was asking could mean leaving the others to die, but she refused to keep on living if Cougar didn't come back alive, and gave a kind smile. Hearing Koya knocking on the door and telling them they would be leaving in ten minutes Natalie gave a smile as Cougar quickly agree, "Good, now go, you can't be late."

 

She couldn't stop smiling as he turned and walked out of the room. Shoving his hands in his pockets Cougar thought about what he had just promised. Of all the things could of asked this was the last thing he'd expected, but he agreed nonetheless. He didn't want to leave the group- but knew Natalie was the one person he needed to protect over everyone else; he truely was in a loose-loose situation. As he walked past by the guardroom he asked Braun if he would watch over Natalie while he was gone.

"The little miss? It would be my honor, just be back to pick her up," Braun said with a salute. Cougar saluted over his shoulder and headed down to the departure point to meet the others.

 

Having finished his full coarse meal Eden looked over as his door opened and gulped loudly as Kyou walked in. He paused for to look from his plate back to Kyou in a double take she had taken him so off guard.Hunching over his plate he quickly wiped his mouth off with his left sleeve and then sat straight up, "Ahh, Do you want some . . . Uh . . . sorry about that- never mind."

 

Eden had forgotten he had finished his food and left the plate without even a morsale big enough to feed a mouse. Starting to turn red from emberrassment he noticed the burn marks on Kyou's arm, "Hey what happened?"

 

"Oh! Its nothing . . . don't worry about it," she said as her hand slipped the sleeve back over the burn; trying to hide it from him, "Why do I feel so odd when I'm around him? I haven't felt like this in years, not since . . ." Kyou stood up and walked over to her desk, pulled out a key and unlocked a drawer, making sure to not let him see exactly what it was as she slipped it into her bag, along with other things such as books and a few knives. Putting the bag's band over he shoulder she turned back to Eden, "Rady to go?"

 

"Yeah, Lee has every thing," he paused for a moment as he grabbed his backpack from Kyou, "Okay then! So which way do we go to get out of here?"

 

"Which of the groups are you going with? I'm going to tag along with one," Saul stated to Yaming after thinking about a few facts.

 

"I am going to be part of the infiltration unit, as we've titled it, that will be in the inside," Yaming said and then turned red as Saul looked at her completely lost, "I'm going to be one of the slaves ok!?"

 

"Which one has Joh- I mean Black and that Destined fellow?"

 

"They're going to be part of the same group. We figured it'd be smart to keep Yaming around with Destined to make sure he doesn't . . . well . . . go off the handle," Koya explained as Akima smiled and nodded her head in agreement.

 

"If you want to avoid Black then you want to go with Kyou, Eden, Lee, and Kallen here," Akima added in and, once he finished, Kallen smiled at Saul with a wave of her RWS.

 

"Don't worry," Corey said reading Saul's mind again by accident, "We're going to make sure Black doesn't do anything that'd get us caught."

 

"C'mon! Are we leaving yet!?" Black called to no one in particular, out of boredom. "Oh be quite you . . ." Josh said through the floor.

Kyou stepped out of the flower with Eden in her arms. Everyone clapped their hands knowing that the entire group was there and ready to leave.

Before there was an answer the excited screams from Lora and Aya made everyone look over as the children tackled Kallen and Akima. The General and Mitch slowly followed behind, both smiling as the girls hugged the two and then the others.
