Struggle Of Powers

[-Genesis-]

Aya picked up the notebook and put it back in her bag, "Because all of it comes from either my mind or from what will happen. And Mitch wouldn't be able to see the future clearly enough to tell us who each of them are. All I know is that someone the book calls the Great Angel is going to fight and maybe kill a rebel. I mean it doesn't even tell us the region and Mitch can't just focus on the general future and find it." She started crying, tears falling down her face, "Lora, what if it turns out to be one of the others."

 

Akima started backing away as Corey blamed him, "Hey wait, you're the one who dragged, well pushed, me out here!"

 

Todou relaxed as Koya put down the weapon, "I snapped at you because - was scared, just before you came in I removed the limiter and I haven't gotten to re-attach it. We're extremely lucky that it didn't go off by accident." He sat back down infront of the weapon, "Actually if you want to you can stay behind and help me with it."

 

Kyou stood on top of the northern tower of the building looking out over the northern capital city marveling at the beauty of the snow covered city.

Lora tried to comfert Aya as she cried, "Come on Aya . . . it might just be a random soldier."

 

Though she said everything would be ok, something in the back of her mind said that they'd have to say good-bye to one of their friends for good when they headed out. Akima started backing away as Corey blamed him, "Hey wait, you're the one who dragged, well pushed, me out here!"

Aya nodded, "I know that, but if that's the case then why would the book write it? It would have nothing to do with me, and the book said that that the Angel and Princess fought over another fight, Which makes me think that they were fighting in th air and how many regular soldiers can fight in midair. Our only other clue is that the book said 'he' so we know that it's a man." She shook her head, trying to stop thinking of such dark thoughts, "I'm sorry, but it' just that the book scares me as well."

 

Akima was back-tracking now, "Yeah well fine, also she lives in the mountains, so I'd guess that she's up high somewhere, maybe the roof?" With that Akima approached Kallen, "Well it's been decided, we're going forward with both plans. You're going with Kyou as one of her escort, the other escort are Eden and Lee. You all leave tomorrow because your plan will need more time than ours. Cougar and Natalie will be going with you for part of the way."

 

Todou laughed, "You do know that that means you won't be participating in the mission in the South right?" He put on a pair of enhancment goggles so that he could see even the smallest parts of the weapon and kept working on it.

 

As Natalie slept lying against him, Cougar was staring off into space thinking of the mission ahead and of the question he was resolved to ask of Natalie... He wanted her to stay behind with Aya and Lora. It wasn't that he didn't trust Mitch it was quite the opposite, he just didn't want ot be putting her in danger. He himself was the greatest threat to her, him and his Altar Power.

[Final Fantasy Revolution]

While the others were doing there own biddings, Braun's group was meeting just outside the hall where they had all met with The General of the North. "Do you really think a bunch of misfits like them could ever hope to defeat the south." One of the Northern Special Ops members asked Braun. Braun smirked. "It ain't really my decision now is it. If their good enough for The General their good enough for me, for ALL of us." Braun explained to the group, defending the new group that had just had council with the general. "Let us part ways for now, and don't say anything more about what you think of the rebels." Braun said as he left the group...

[Tempest Dahlia]

Destined stood in the back, toying with his hair. He didn't have much to lose... Unlike everyone, he looked forward to this. It gave him time to snatch power away from the Northern General, and the time of rebellion was almost upon him...

"...Black." Destined called his name, turned around and began walking. He wanted to let him know what would be happening in the next few hours...

The ultimate plan was about to begin. He smirked maliciously to himself... He could picture the shock on everyone's face.

"Well you wanted to go find her," Corey said and then remembered what they were after, "Have you seen Kyou?"

Corey began to laugh and then patted Akima, "Actually we will be leaving at the same time they do. The time it'll take them to get to everything on our end all wrapped up."

 

Corey had to explain that finding the Rebels and the rest of their plan would take the same ammount of time as Kyou making a fake treaty, which is why they had to leave at the same time, completely forgetting about Kyou as she laid down on the roof. Natalie slept lying against Cougar, who was watching the others while thinking of the mission ahead and his question to Natalie; he wanted her to stay behind with Aya and Lora. It wasn't that he didn't trust Mitch it was quite the opposite, he just didn't want ot be putting her in danger.

 

Everyone stopped talking when an explosion from Todou's workshop made black smoke pillar out from the windows. Rushing over they opened the door to see a smoke covered Koya and Todou step out coughing and wheezing.

 

"What happened!?"

 

"He . . . he dropped," Todou attempted to say past the dry heaves, "A bottle."

 

"A bottle?" Yaming asked having arrived on the scene.

 

"A very explosive bottle," Koya responded as he craddled the weapon Todou had been working on. He turned to the scientist with a smile and held it out to him, "Hey Todou . . . look . . . I didn't drop it."

 

"Come on Aya . . . it might just be a random soldier."

 

"I know that, but if that's the case then why would the book write it? It would have nothing to do with me.Our only other clue is that the book said 'he' so we know that it's a man." Aya retorted as she shook her head, trying to stop thinking of such dark thoughts, "I'm sorry, but it' just that the book scares me as well."

 

"Yeah," Lora said as they wandered the halls looking for Mitch. They passed by Braun's group as they were meeting just outside the hall. As they walked by the men she could hear them talking, "Do you really think a bunch of misfits like them could ever hope to defeat the south?"

"well at least some people accept we're trying to help," Lora thought as they saw the outside courtyard, "There it is Ay-"

 

 

Both girls screamed when the small boom made them jump in shock and then watched as the black smoke rose from the cottage. Both ran to see the group laughing and messing with each other and they gave sighs of relief and soon heard the entire story, which they also couldn't help but laugh at. Back inside the building Braun hadn't minded the explosion, having already known Todou and his reputation for making things explode, he glanced around and the group and spoke before leaving, "Let us part ways for now, and don't say anything more about what you think of the rebels."

 

Since the meeting had been dismissed Destined found his way into a small secluded area and stood there thinking, toying with his hair. He didn't have much to lose . . . unlike everyone, he looked forward to this. It gave him time to snatch power away from the Northern General and the time of rebellion was almost upon him. As he stood there he stiffened up as one of the Black Ops, the one who lead them here, named Braun acended the staricase without noticing him.

 

"Black . . ." he called as he turned around and began walking. He wanted to let him know what would be happening in the next few hours. He smirked maliciously to himself . . . he could picture the shock on everyone's face and knew that they'd never forget it. While waiting for Black Destined saw the Northern General and Mitch walking through the hallways without a guard and the thoughts of how easy it would be to assassinate them got the better of him. Creeping around, making extra sure he wouldn't be seen nor heard, he slowly pulled out a dagger and then stopped once he heard something . . . odd.

 

"Do you think she rememebers anything?"

 

"I doubt it . . . after all I even thought she was dead," Mitch called back with a small bit of emberrassment.

 

"Oh hohoho! Guess we don't know everything about that little powerhouse of a girl," the General laughed in amusement as they rounded the corner. Dropping from his position Destined put away the dagger and tilted his head in curiosity, "Little powerhouse? Girl? Are they talking about Yaming?"

[-Genesis-]

Akima shook his head, "Ok whatever are you going to tell her or are you going to go find Koyu?" With that he turned and walked away with Kallen following him asking for the details.

 

Cougar watched everyone tensely, *If I had any sense I wouldn't go at all. I'm putting them all in danger, but I can't just bail on them. That's why I have to get Natalie to stay behind.* Natalie shifted slightly in her sleep and Cougar returned to his thoughts.

 

Todou shook his head angrily and took the weapon from him, "You have to follow my instructions to the letter if you're going to work with me. You're just lucky that that Chaos Flare was a dud." He turned and went back into the work shop and flipped a switch and suddenly all the smoke was blown out by a fan system.

 

Aya relaxed, "Well at least everyone's okay." She pulled Lora aside and whispered in her ear, "Let's wait for a private minute when we can talk to Mitch. Please don't tell anyone else about the story."

 

At the explosion Kyou stood up and walked to the edge of the roof and looked down over the courtyard, *Oh... so it was just another one of the scientist's gadgets again. Nothing to worry about."

[Freeman The Master]

As the explosion came, Eden worked up with his hart skipping a beat. With him at a point of a literal melt down, this scare was not need for him. As he got up he looked around the room hoping to whatever lord that is out there that is was not him. He saw the room was no different, Lee standing guard and no burn marks. But just as he started to make a sigh of relief, but as he did another Jolt went though his back, making him shiver. "Damn it." He sighed as he shock his head and got out of the bed. He figured it be a better time then never. As he did he started to once again walk the Base just looking around and Lee following behind him.

[Final Fantasy Revolution]

The figure of a man dressed in a black cloak that was watching the group faded into the distance just as the last bit of smoke cleared away from the scene. He seemed to be heading straight for where Mitch and The General resided but no one could tell for sure. It's most definitely the group I was supposed to meet up with before my delay. I could speak with them now, but The General is a more important asset to speak with for now..." The man was almost to the base now.

Destined stood up, quite disturbed (I think) with what he just heard. He decided to pust it out of his mind, although he wasn't planning on forgetting.

"...Anyway," he said, walking over to Black. "I want to inform you on my plans, this way you won't be out of the loop."

[Blake]

Black did a mock salute and laughed "Sir, yes sir!" Black barely kept himself from falling down laughing at his show. His humor was... odd. "Anyways, what IS tis plan?" He asked with a raised eyebrow.

 

A cloaked figure stood outside of the Southern Rebel Base. The figure thought

Destined stared at him. Not even a twitch crossed his mouth.

"... l plan on taking the Southern Military by force, and solo. You're welcome to come along.

l will attempt to gain trust here before leaving. When we get to the South, l will ill the general and begin my plans to take over everyone. No one will expect it coming."

Kyou was sitting on the roof listening to Destined and Black, *Fool no even checking your surroundings before divulging such information! How amateurish.* She leapt from the roof and landed just behind Destined, "No one except me, that is." She smiled and sat down on an ice chair she'd just made as she sat. "So now that I know your plan, what do you plan to do?" Kyou smiled darkly at the two of them. "Well?"

Kyou was sitting on the roof listening to Destined and Black, she giggled at Black's mocking salute and thought of Destined, *Fool not even checking your surroundings before divulging such information! How amateurish.* She leapt from the roof and landed just behind Destined, "No one except me, that is." She smiled and sat down on an ice chair she'd just made as she sat. Then she looked at Black, "By the way, you actually made me giggle with you joke." She turned back to Destined, "So now that I know your plan, what do you plan to do?" Kyou smiled darkly at the two of them. "Well?"

Destined laughed.

"Foolish little brat... Go on, tell them. lt dosen't matter to me. Not one bit..."

"But if you're looking to die a crispy death, you've come to the right place!" He said, snapping his fingers and sparking a flame in his hands.

[Blake]

He thought, mentally shrugging. "Plan to do, ma chere?" Black asked, Pseudo-laying it on. "I plan to join him." Black said with a smirk. "And what, pray tell, do YOU plan on doing about it, Kyou?". He had his book and weapons ready to go if needed.

[-Genesis-]

Kyou smirked at the threat, "You really think that you could kill me?" She started laughing and then simply glanced at Destined. In that instant the flame and his hand froze in a block of ice, "My power is far greater than yours, you see fire needs oxygen to survive, my ice doesn't. And besides, your very body gives me power over you, you body is 70% water." She turned to walk away from him, but glanced back, "Also if you wish to, go ahead with your plan. Remember I will be there before you and if I save him then you'll be executed and I'll be hailed as a hero, getting me that much closer to killing him and the other leaders myself as my plan permits." With that she started to walk away, *Come on fool. Attack me, I want you to see the extent of my power. I'll freeze your body so quickly that you'll die instantly.*

Destined closed his hand in a fit of silent anger. "Bitch." He mumbled under his breath, shattering the ice between his fingertips.

[-Genesis-]

 

Kyou kept walking, slightly disappointed that he hadn't attacked her. She decided to tell him a secret, "Oh and Destined, why are you so obsessed with gaining control over something? I mean you have so much farther that your powers could grow to, but first you need to find something that truly matters to you, that you can't live without. And once you find it, you have to be willing to give it up. That's one of the reasons you'll never beat me: you only think of what you want. You're not interested in controlling a nation because you'll be a good leader, you want to because it'll make you feel great." Kyou shook her head as she continued to walk away right past Black, "If that's who you really are then your no better then the Western General you hate so much."

[Blake]

"Thank ya kindly." Black said as she walked by. "You thought I was funny." With that, Black warped out of the sight of Kyou, wanting a showdown to unfold between the two.

Destined sighed to himself. "Whatever. Are you done here?"

She was right... partially. He didn't want the South for good intent, it was so he could show off.

 

I really need to shave off my arrogance, he thought.

 

But what she was wrong about, what set him apart from other supers, was that he was extaordinary, in many more ways then one...

Kyou shook her head, "You can't tone down you arrogance for even a minute, can you?" I try to tell you how you can become powerful enough to be a threat to me and you just blow it off. Go ahead and take control of a country, maybe in a few years we'll all be trying to kill you instead of the Western General." With that she continued to walk off, *What a damn fool, so arrogant, so full of himself.* A voice in the back of her mind told her, *Not unlike you once were.* *True, but I was willing to try and change. I doubt that he could even do that, much less succeed. If he did, he'd be a completely different person. He'd know that he couldn't trust himself with authoritorial power and would decline it whenever it was offered, I don't think he will ever be capable of that.*

As the two Elementals as it seemed where facing off, Fire and Ice to complete opposites. Eden was somewhat blank to his surroundings. The voltage going through his body was burning and painful on so many levels that he was driving him even further in to madness. But being as he is he did not want the others to worry about him, so he kept it quiet. The only one that knew was Lee. But there was one thing he could not hide, his lack of concentration on his surroundings. As he was walking around the place he bummed in Kyou. "Ahh. Hay..." He paused for a moment to let his focus come back. He saw who he bummed in to. "Ohh its you. Sorry." He was about to walk off but figured he would ask her something while he was here. "Kyou right? Ahh since where going to be working together I figured I would ask this. Whats your story?"

[-Genesis-]

Kyou was annoyed at first when Eden bumped into her, but the she recognized him as one of the people who she would be taking as her escort. She caught his arm as he stumbled, "It's Eden right?" Kyou didn't wait long enough for an answer, "Is something wrong? You seem completely disorientated and unbalenced. And your power is extremely unstable," She was genuinely worried now as she was a healer by trade, although she was often used by her grandfather as a weapon, so she didn't waste any time, she pulled him to her and held him close as ice came up from the ground and formed into flower petals. The petals closed around them and moments later they opened revealing a large bedroom. Kyou lifted him up and placed him on the bed before sitting down at his side, "Tell me what's wrong, maybe I can help."

As for the first second Kyou grabbed Eden he started to blush. Being a rough Trader and a wonder of the Wasteland he never really have much contact with others let alone the opposite sex. Once she brought him close was silent then on end. In till the what it seemed Telaport was done. Then next thing he knew is he was in her bedroom. This did not help him anymore then it all ready was. But he managed to shack out of it. I mean this was Kyou like she would want someone like him. He manged to get past his blushing and hesitation to finally think straight. "Nothing is wrong Kyou. I..." He paused for a moment as a slight jolt went though his back once again. At this point he was getting used to it. "I am fine. And besides there is nothing to worry about. I am here to help you." He said with a crocked smile trying to cover up his embarrassment.

 

But as for Eden and Kyou where now gone to her own place, Lee was walking the grounds looking for him. But as he did, he saw a radiation hot spot in one area and worst off dark shadows burned on the gourd. Lee just shocked his head and walked on.
