Struggle Of Powers

Kallen was the one who spoke, "Not much except how they fight. And that they've actually been pretty easy for me to beat. Other than that... nothing."

Akima was still looking at Kyou curiously. Cougar noticed him looking at Kyou and whispered to him, "I wouldn't even try if I were you, she has no qualms about fighting, and she's quite kind when she's in a good mood, which is usually when she's off in the mountains." Cougar shook his head, "I'm really not sure if you'd survive an attempt. If she choses you you'll know because she'll never leave you alone, she's only ever fallen for one person and he was killed in a battle against the West." He then became serious, "It was then that she became bitter and cold to the world. Know this... She's obsessed with nature, she believes that there is nothing more beautiful in the world. It's why she lives in the mountains, she can see all the beauty of nature from there. If you do something like step on a flower or kill an simple animal without cause... she'll eat you alive. She once almost killed some soldiers simply because they were drunk and burned down an old tree, the only reason they made it out alive was because the General showed up and had her spare them. There have been many other foolish ones who were beligerant and thought that they could fight her." Cougar shook his head again, "She's the North's greatest weapon, her powers are far beyond any simple soldiers' powers."

Kyou looked over the group sitting at the table with her grandfather, *Some of them are exceptionally powerful, but none of them are a real threat to me. I wonder though when was the last time that this many powerful supers sat in one room?* She smiled and looked up at Koya, *And he seems interesting, I'll keep an eye on him.*

Koya gave a sigh as Kallen finished telling her experiances with the South, he didn't have much to say about them and was emberrassed to admit it. The group went around and each found out there was more rumor than facts that they knew; having only a select few actually enter the territory or, worse, go up against them. Hearing this the General laughed, not meaning to be rude, and wringed his hands together.

"It seems you are all underknowledged about the enemy you must face." he said and caught their attention. Mitch grinned as he leaned over the right shoulder of the General and clicked a button making a holovid appear.

"Indeed they don't my friend."

The holovid made Lora and Aya gape in amazment, having rare views of this short of technology and watch as the screen began to form. Not suprised, more boardering on bored, Kyou examined the group sitting with her grandfather, "Some of them are exceptionally powerful . . . but, if it came down to it, none of them are a real threat to me. I wonder though . . . when was the last time this many powerful Supers sat in one room?" she smiled and looked up at Koya, "And him . . . he seems interesting . . . I'll keep an eye on him."

Hearing Kyou's thoughts Corey glanced at her and tranmitted his thoughts to her, "From what I have learned . . . a lot of important people to the futu-"

"What Are You Talking About Old Man!!!" Destined interrupted as he slammed his fist on the table, making a few people jump in suprises, having heard they were going against the South. Black motioned for Destined to clam down or else things might get out of hand with the only military they were in good graces with.

"We came here with the impression you'd help us defeat the Western Military. We had no intention of going after the South, for whatever reasons."

"Yeah!" came Darren in his usual fashion while Kyba forced him back into his chair, scowling at him for interrupting. The General, nor Mitch, gave any heed to Destined's outburst; one might think they had expected it from the smiles on their face. Yaming spoke up to add some reason why they should attack the South.

"I know we failed to overthrow the West, and a lot of valuable lives were lost . . . but that doesn't mean we are ready to take down someone else."

"Oh hohoho! But if not the South, then where my dear? Would you attack the North perhaps?" the General questioned making Yaming stand quietly for a moment and then sit back down, "Currently the South is in an upheavle because of a rebellion; which is why they have been inactive these past few months. Though it is not the policy of the North to be the 'trigger man' . . . Mitch and I have decided that if the South would be allowed to remain for the coming events . . . the tide of war would end badly for the peace we've strived for so long."

"That is why we are asking some of you to go to the South, meet up with the Southern Rebellion, and defeat the South by any means you see fit," Mitch concluded as he sat back down with a completely serious expression on his face, "That is why we brought you here. Our hands are tied."

"So we're going to do another head-on fight?" Moka asked with Sky thinking behind her. This question made Eden think as he examined the holovid of the Southern Territories, Lee gazing into the glowing orb almost mezmerized, "Would a frontal assault work with them, even though it failed with the West?"

Kyou smiled and stood, "I get it, you plan to help the Southern rebels overthrow the old hierarchy hoping that because you helped them that they will make an alliance will you." She walked to an empty seat and took a glass. She handed it to one of the waitresses, "Please fill this with water, thank you." With that she turned to face everyone, "You also want to do it before the West can take advantage of the civil war and conquer the South completely. So then grandfather, why did you call me here?"

Kallen nodded, she understood the plan, but wondered where their group would fall into the General's plans. "So where do we fit into all this?"

Akima sat back in his chair and closed his eyes pretending to sleep while listening to the conversation.

Cougar was paying more attention to Natalie than to the conversation. While she was trying to pay attention to the conversation he was lightly kissing her along her neck and jaw, distracting her.

Aya shifted her chair closer to Lora as Kyou came closer to the table, although Kyou wasn't their enemy she scared Aya to no end.

The waitress took the glass and quickly filled it water, then handed it back to Kyou. While she continued with her glass in hand she asked where everyone fit in this plan.

Giving a sigh the General answered as he grew more solmn, "We are going to have you meant up with the Rebellions leader and from there you will take down the South at its weakest point. I will not lie . . . this will be as difficult as taking down the West had been. Some of you mig-"

The General stopped as a hicked laughter broke out. The hysterical laughter maked everyone turn and face the single person who was nearly falling out of his chair, slapping his knee in the sick humor. Destined held his hand on front of his face trying to stop, "So you are going to send some lambs to the slaughter. Seeing as you, as you said, can't help us in any way. Am I wrong? I think not."

Lora looked back to the General and Mitch as they lowered their gaze, knowing that it would turn into a blood bath no matter how slealthy they were. Lora turned and scowled at Destined as everyone else did, but looked up while Corey stepped in front of her view.

"And I take it you have another plan?"

"Of course I do . . . and this one will get us into the heart of the South without having to even fight," Destined said snickering as Lucifer remained on his head, "Sell us."

Kyou glared at Destined, "Fool if I am being sent with you all, as I expect, then you'll all come beck alive and well. The South only has only ever had one fighter who could give me a challenge, Bordimour. If he isn't in our way then I can handle this mission myself!"

Kallen looked over at Destined, "Your plan involves us letting you loose on the Southerners doesn't it." She spoke with an uninterested, but knowing tone.

Akima was now listening completely, he agreed that helping the Southern rebels and stabilizing the South would deal a major blow to the West.

Destined slammed his fist into the table and stood up, angered that Kallen would second guess him. Darren and Kyba winced away while he glared a them, "Listen! I have been to the South before . . . the Southern Military is big on selling our kind for slave labor."

Nodding his head Koya turned and, though he hated to admit it, agreed with Destined. He explained that while he travelled around he had heard of the South snatching up Supers and using them for all kinds of reasons. Laughing Destined continued, "Of course they do. Now if we 'sell' ourselves to them . . . they will take us to the processing center and the heart of the military. From there it as simple as . . ."

Destined quickly snapped his finger and threw a fire ball at the Northern General, which Mitch stopped as the flame began to lick at the old man's face. Everyone was now standing and ready to go, having seen this as an act of violence and betrayel until the Northern General began laughing.

"A bold plan indeed. Yet this isn't my choice to make. What do the rest of you think?" he asked while the flame died in front of his eyes.

Black snapped his fingers and began to play with fire from his spot on the floor. Seeing Destined's fire made him want to. Then, he spoke. "I say Destined's plan. I can easily get away if anything goes wrong, and I can help you all from there." Black warped as he finished his sentence and was behind the general. "See?", he asked as he continued to fidget with the fire in his hand.

Kyou shook her head in disagreement, "There are some major problems with your plan: we'd have to be sold to someone who works in the upper levels of their government to be sent there. Also they would scan your power levels and wonder how they caught you and know that something was wrong!" Besides that way we wouldn't make contact with the rebels and thus we wouldn't be able to create an alliance with them." She walked around the table toward Destined, "I say we offer to make a treaty with the current Southern government, I myself acting aas the ambassador with a few of you along as a cadre. Meanwhile, the rest of you would go to the rebels and take Corey along as a representative of the North. From there Corey could arrange a date for the rebels to attack the Southern capital and inform me. I will arrange for a treaty meeting with the Southern leaders at that time and when the attack begins we eliminate them and without any leaders the South will fall in a single well planned day."

Due to Kyou's sudden plan Black's fire went out. He liked her plan better... but Destined would kill him if he said anything of the sort. He pulled out a pencil and paper, scribbled 'I am for your plan, but do NOT say that out loud. -Black'. As soon as Destined wasn't looking, he warped up to Kyou and dropped the note, before returning to the wall to read.

"I thought time was short. How much of time would that entire plan take?" Destined mused as everyone realized that he was being honest for once.

"General, these rebels are wanted criminals in the eyes of teh Southern Government, right?" Yaming asked as she stood up, deciding to work with Destined's plan. A simple nod from the General confirmed her thoughts and she turned to Kyou, "If they had the Southern Rebel's leader . . . then wouldn't they take them to the place Destined was talking about?"

Moka got up and nodded, having thought of something herself, "And . . . and we could just say we gave up. I think the old man said they were losing anyways."

Sky slapped his face when Moka refered to the General as an old man, but couldn't help but notice she was also right. From the information they were told the Southern Rebels were losing the fight and would soon loose if things went the way they were. Mitch stepped forward with a smile, enjoying the inside attack more by the second.

"I think I have a way this insane plan can actually work . . ."

Kyou smiled at Black's note, *Well of course I've been raised by a man surrounded by war, why wouldn't I be a great strategist. I'm not just powerful, and I'm no fool. But that one is interesting as well I guess I'll keep an eye on him as well.* She went to stand directly behind Destined, and wearing a smug smile she asked him, "So what do you think?"

Kyou shook her head, "Again a problem, just because we bring them the rebel leader doesn't mean we'll come into contact with the Southern leaders. And if they execute the rebel leader then even if we succeed the new southern government wouldn't have a leader trusted by the people to take power quickly and stablize the South." She smiled smugly, "Whereas, with my plan we have a guarentee of being able to kill the leaders easily and effectively. The entire Southern area could change government's quietly without any other military knowing." Kyou walked back to her ice chair, sat down, and looked at Destined, "Are you really going to be so subborn as to say that your plan is more efficient and logically based then mine?" To herself she thought, *He's a fool who just refuses to admit that someone else may outsmart him or be better than him.*

Kallen sat back against her seat and looked around, "Well, I personally say we go with the Snow Woman's plan. It's well thought out, easily executed, logical, and actually has a much better chance of success. But that's my opinion."

The General gave a sigh and shook his head, "Grandchild . . . though your plan is thought out and would guarentee success. The man is right . . . we don'y have time."

Destined smirked as the General agreed with him and showed it very proudly. Everyone was a bit stunned that the General would go along with a plan like that. Mitch stepped forward and coughed to try and ease the tension, "I personally know the Southern Rebel Leader. This is something he might actually enjoy."

Kyou smirked and started laughing, "This is quite entertaining, you want us to forgo a plan which would guarentee success for a haphazard plan which has a greater chance of failure than success. Besides you say that we don't have time, first we are in the presence of the manipulator of time, and second I can arrange the treaty and meeting in a day, as well as the meeting with the rebel leader. Simply say the word and everything will be in place."

Eden was still at the dinner table thinking of what was about to happen in the south. But the only thing wrong it seemed at the moment was Eden was starting to fade in and out of focus. Over and over again he vision blued in and out and what was worst off electricity was forming out side of his gloves but it was only on the metal parts of the table and Silver Ware. It was small enough for him to hide it but he did not know for how much longer. But he shock it off and started to concentrate. "Well Why don't we compromise, we send in some guys as ambassadors to both the Rebels and the main government... And and..." He paused for a moment trying to refocus back on. "And Bring in some as..." He started to snapped his fingers trying to find the words. "and some as Slaves. Well have all corners covered." He finally said what he wanted to say. At the end he sighed and relaxed in his seat.

Kyou shook her head at Mitch, "Obviously you don't understand." She walked toward the door, "Well then when you're all finished I'll be outside." As she stepped out of the door she disappeared in a swirl of snow.

Kallen looked over at Mitch, "What did she meant that she could set it all up in a day? It would take weeks to reach the South from here."

Akima was looking over at Destined, *Are we really gonna use his plan? Kyou's right it's more likely to fail than succeed.*

"My grandchild . . . aldo has the ability to travel over great distances. However she is still young, and does not know that sometimes the most insane plans are the ones to succeed." the General said solemnly as Kyou vanished.

Mitch could tell Akima didn't like the plan, but would try and sway him with a bit of compramies so he would agree, "And it won't be as if we would send in the children."

Mitch patted Lora and Aya on the back as he stated that making Lora scowl in a bit of suprise. She had all intentions of going and helping them take out the South, not staying here and being baby sat, "So you have no worries about Lora or Aya being harmed."

"And I will be able to 'convince' the guards we are low level priority so that almost anything we do will go under their radar." Corey chimed in as he moved his sun glasses, revealing the white irises they hide.

Akima started laughing, "Well I'll tell you this, if you plan on keeping Lora and Aya behind, you may want to keep a very close eye on them." He eyed Lora knowingly, remembering the chaos that ensued last time.

Todou stepped forward, "You don't have to worry about that, you see if they go they'll be killed. The Southern slavers are very particular, no eldarly or young are kept, because they cannot do the work that the others can. Which means that if either of them were to go or myslef, we'd be killed and if we protected ourselves we'd end up having to fight or run all the way back here anyway."

"Sir." Black warped up to the old General. "Sorry to be so... forward but how can she do that?" He asked. "I can warp, but only short range without a special pill." His eyes shining as he spoke, "I desperately want to regain my old power."

Destined grinned and looked at Todou, "Don't count yourself out so quickly old man."

Lora was outing since she was told she'd be sitting this out, but Mitch smiled and whispered he'd personally train her while they were gone. Hearing that she could be trained by a Legendary took her mind off of it quickly.

"So have we all agreed?" the General finally said, taking a bite out of an apple.

Eden sighed. No one even listened to him, he shock his head but was distracted as a cold electric shock went down his spine. He tensed up for a moment but recovered. "I guess it will work, we will go as slaves. But what if the see one of us as two powerful? I mean its not like they don't have the technology to scan us and are powers. Right?"
