After about two more hours of travels and only one rest period the group finally made it to the border of the Northern Territory. Braun smiled and then turned to the group. "Well how does it feel to see the North with your very own eyes! It still get's me after ten years of service..." Braun said with aspiration for his home.

"That's because your a softie," the Northern Guard, as they group had began to call him, noted while taking the first step onto Nothern Territory. Everyone else had stopped and took in the view, a wide and incredibly tall wall blocked their path as it stretched from horizon to horizon . . . so tall even the sky could have been blocked out if they were close enough.

"Guess . . . they don't like visitors?"

"Or they don't want any." Lora said as she stepped forward, almost scared to continue towards the massive wall.

Braun got the group inside the city with some quick banter with the guards and a little discussion about why they we're here. "Alright all, listen up, your going to follow me into the base and we'll meet up with the general as soon as possible." Braun said as he turned toward the way of the base and started walking with his group of men...

Lora and . . . well . . . everyone else didn't move as they saw the North for the first time. Unlike everywhere else they had been, which was either desolate and lifeless or natural and untouched by man, this place was different. Buildings almost as tall as the wall surrounding it were everywhere as mechanical contraptions moved about with honks and bellows. Everywhere they turned something new and incredibly amazing could be seen and smelt. Foods in window shelves, inside glass windows, laying on carts.

"This place is . . . amazing!!!" Lora said as she wanted to wander around and look at everything, yet Braun's announcement meant that they couldn't as of now. Walking through the enormous city hidden behind the massive walls Lora and Aya could see children their own age inside buildings, so many kids neither could hope to count them all, and animals playing with older children. Even Destined had been suprised that a group like this was still around.

"Oh wow Sky! Look at that! And THAT! Ooooh! What do you think that thing is?" Moka squeeled with delight as a tall four legged animal neighed and clopped its hooves on the paved ground.

"I think thats a horse Moka . . ." Sky said in some emberrassment.

"Yes, yes. There are much wonders to behold but first we must meet with the general." Braun said as they stepped up to the entrance of the base. Braun put his hand up to the door and suddenly a mechanical voice said. "Identity approved, Captain Braun Archer, you may enter the base." The door slid into the left wall instead of opening out or inside of the base. Braun lead the group to the meeting room and they all entered wondering what the general would be like...

"Well, he's the youngest of all the Generals and he has light blonde hair that just barely covers his eyes. He wears a silver suite of armor and has a blood red cloak around his shoulder that is outlined in white cotton. He always has a smile on his face even when he's in the middle of the war or in the heat of battle." Braun explained as they waited for the General to give the orders for them to come inside...

Akima stared around amazed at the North's capital city, "It's as if the wars don't even exist." He just gazed around and noticed farther off was an area that didn't look as clean or as lively as the rest, "Or well... almost."

Cougar sniffed as everyone gazed, amazed at the city. It was obvious that he was annoyed, "Braun, I'm surprised at you, not even recognizing one of your oldest friends. Of course that was before you joined the military and I went to the East, but still it hurts to know that you can't even recognize me." Natalie looked at Cougar in shock, "Wait! You're saying that this is the man you've been telling me about for all these years?" Cougar looked down at her and nodded before looking back at Braun, "Yep, he's the one who introduced me to Peter, Charlotte and their group of rebels. Isn't that right Braun?"

Aya was still holding onto Lora both curious and afraid at the same time. She was whispering to herself so quietly that only Lora could hear her, "Please don't let him be like HIM, please, please." She was whimpering and light tears were falling down her cheeks.

Kallen stood not far behind Lora looking around at the scenery and watching her, she was worried, that Alamos may have tricked them for some reason, why else wouldn't he have come with them. Kallen was on guard with her RWS fully charged and ready for action, she glanced over to Todou, who had similar suspicious look, he was also afraid that they had been tricked. Not a single one of Alamos' men were with them, or anywhere to be found in fact, he just wasn't sure that was a good sign.

Alisa nodded to Ike in understanding and quickly created a virus program that would delete any new files made with the data in them, before turning to Ike, "Get back on the table I'll hook you up and make it look as if we didn't even move." With that she set up the system preparing it for Ike and set a timer so that the door would automatically open in 45 seconds.

Kiria winced as memories of watching Catherine die flickered into his head, *No that hasn't happened yet, and I don't plan to let it happen.* He continued to walk away only to see Andrew trying to force his way into the room he went into with Alisa and Ike earlier, "Andrew what's wrong the door won't open?" He smiled and summoned the Buster Sword, "Allow me to open it."

Akima stared around amazed at the North's capital city. "It's as if the wars don't even exist." He just gazed around and noticed farther off was an area that didn't look as clean or as lively as the rest, "Or well . . . almost."

"At least there are people. Real living people who aren't afraid," Omar said as he watched a young couple walking hand in hand. The sight brought back memories of a couple he had met eariler in his travels that had unfortunately preished, "Lets hope this place stays the same."

"Yeah . . ." Moka chipped in as she held onto Sky, however emberrassed. Cougar was sniffing around as everyone took in the sights, amazed at the city, it was obvious that he was annoyed. "Braun, I'm surprised at you, not even recognizing one of your oldest friends. Of course that was before you joined the military and I went to the East, but still . . . it hurts to know that you can't even recognize me."

Natalie looked at Cougar in shock, "Wait! You're saying that this is the man you've been telling me about for all these years?"

"Yep, he's the one who introduced me to Peter, Charlotte and their group of rebels. Isn't that right Braun?"

Braun gave a smalllaugh as he scratched the back of his head in emberrassment, the situation becoming more akward without the meeting going on, "Yeah well . . . you've changed a lot Cougar. I thought it might have been you, but I wasn't sure."

As Lora or Aya gazed out the window at city, Koya had asked Braun about the General and what he was like. Overhearing him Aya shut her eyes and hled onto Lora both curious and afraid at the same time. She was whispering to herself so quietly that only Lora could hear her, "Please don't let him be like HIM, please, please."

She was whimpering and light tears were falling down her cheeks. Lora gave a warm smile and patted her on the back, trying to comfort her and say everything would be alright at the same time. Braun had began to speak and Lora motioned to Aya to listen up, "Well . . . he is the youngest of all the Generals! His hair is the lightest blonde in color that becomes a brilliant blazing gold fire in the heatr of battle! While fighting withvhis soldiers he wears a silver suit of armor adorned with a blood stained cloak! Yet . . . he always has a smile on his face, even when he is in the heat of battle . . ."

Most of the group was listening to Brauntalk about the General and began to wonder what kind of person he truly was, meanwhile Eden was still amazed to see what he was seeing. For once technology that doesn't look scavenged or was form the Primitive Era of Computers. He was still shocked, at all of this he was speechless. A sudden burst of laughter caused everyone to jump as the cracked voice of an old man was heard, "Now now Braun . . . no need to speak of the past . . ."

Alisa nodded to Ike in understanding and quickly created a virus program that would delete any new files made with the data in them, before turning to Ike, "Get back on the table I'll hook you up and make it look as if we didn't even move."

With that she set up the system preparing it for Ike and set a timer so that the door would automatically open in 45 seconds. Ike shookhis head and pointed to the tentacle, which had formed into an eye and was staring at them, "I don't think that'll help . . ."

Kiria winced as memories of watching Catherine die flickered into his head, "No that hasn't happened yet and I don't plan to let it happen!" He continued to walk away only to see Andrew trying to force his way into the room he went into with Alisa and Ike earlier, "Andrew what's wrong the door won't open? Allow me to open it."

Andrew glared back and then his eyes opened in suprise. Looking down Kiria could see his blade and hands disappearing. Soon his forearm began to fade as he slowly vanished, not knowing the same was happening to Ike and Alisa inside the room.

"Looks like whatever brought you here is taking you back," Andrew held out the holodisk packed with the information about the future and smirked, "And thank Ike for this data when you see him."

Before Kiria could fully realize what the disk held, and before either android could destroy it, the area around them blurred like before and soon they found themselves in the middle of the ruins that they had been in before. Somehow, even with the data from the future . . . things had remained the same.

The doors slowly opened and out came a small decreped old man. The first thing anyone could notice was the cane he used to hold himself up, due to the absense of an entire leg, which was shaped like a dragon. Then the real shock hit everyone when they took a second look at the missing limb. No one tried to stare as the old man "walked" in amongst the group, but most couldn't resist. Stopping the General looked down at his missing leg and then at the shocked and morbidly facinated faces around him and started laughing, "Oh ho ho ho! I see this old injury of mine still gets some odd looks even at my old age . . ."

"Well . . . he has four stars on his shoulders; that means this old bat is the Northern General!?" Josh said as he floated above them, "Hey! Why don't you try and convince him to revive me or . . . well . . . then I'd be a headless zombie . . . No no . . . that won't work . . . Man it sucks being dead!!!"

Akima nodded at Omar's words, "Of course we should hope, but with the West increasing their power with whatever it was that turned Catherine into that monster, that may not be possible." He looked downcast and thought about his promise to Lora back on the mountain, about how he wouldn't overuse his power again, and how he may have to break that promise in order to stop them.

When Aya saw the Northern General was still holding onto Lora tightly, whimpering, afraid that he'd recognize her. She'd recognized him from years ago before the Western General started war with the South, the Northern General had been trying to convince him that he was going down a path of destruction.

Kallen turned to Todou as he approached the Northern General and grabbed the old man by his elbow helping him stay standing, "Hello grandfather, are you better?" Kallen was shocked at this new development, Todou was related to the Northern General!

Cougar stepped forward and kneeled infront of the General, "Former Honorary Elite Guard Straight Cougar returning from the East."

Natalie stood back and watched in amazement at all these new things being unveiled: Todou was the grandson of the Northern General, Cougar was a former member of the Elite Northern Guard, what was next... Destined suddenly caring about all of them?

Kiria looked around him at the ruins, still holding the Buster Sword, "Dammit! Why did it happen then, why were we released from the past then?"

Alisa looked around and started walking away without a word to either Ike or Kiria. When she arrived at the top of a hill not far away she saw the remains of campfires left behind, "Ike, Kiria, come up here!"

Ike ignored Kiria's rant, suprised himself that things had went normally. Why would the General allow Catherine to die? Just to see what would happen? None of it made any sense to him as he climbed the mountain.

Seeing the old man Omar stopped and patted Akima on the shoulder, to get his attention, and pointed to the man everyone was gathering around, "Is that the General, for real?"

"Oh ho ho ho . . . so many familiar faces does this old man's heart some good. Now, before I pass out, will someone get me a chair? These old bones of mine can't stand for long you know."

As the General went to sit down Lora was the quickest to grab a chair and let him sit down. Patting Lora on the head the General gave a long sigh and then nodded his head, almost as if he was falling asleep, Josh floated around the old man as his head slowed, "I think he's dead . . ."

With a snap the man looked around and began to laugh, "Well that was a nice nap. Now onto buisness! Todou, you know I don't mind you calling me grandpa, but not in front of guests my boy. Cougar, where have you been all this time again? As for the rest of you . . . what do you think of them Mitch?"

"To be honest I thought Kallen would have longer hair, and Aya wouldn't be so . . . cowardly," Came the relpy as a young man, no older then seventeen walked into the room and rested his hand on Moka, mistaking her for Kallen, "So . . . how was life in the West?"

As Eden and Lee walked in to the Military Base he was amazed to see that the military base did not differ form the other one he has been in. The layout is the same but small differences are seen. But as he and the others finally got to see the this famed General, once Eden saw the General... The Northern Military General he could not help but to let his jaw drop. "Your kidding me... This is the Youngest of the four Generals? The Western... Your kidding me right? This man must be in his hundreds by now. I can't believe I fallowed you guys. How in the name of the All is he going to help us?" Eden started to shake his head. "I think I was better off in the Wastes, or worse a prisoner." He mumbled under his berth.

Kiria followed Ike and Alisa to the top of the hill and saw the remains of the camp that was left behind. He walked over to the remains of a fire and picked up some ash, sniffing it, "They were here recently, about three days ago I'd say. And judging from the way these ashes are strewn they headed north, in a hurry." Alisa was surprised that Kiria was so calm, at the knowledge that the weren't far behind the supers.

Akima looked to where Omar was pointing and was also confused, "I guess those stories of him are a bit outdated..." He was stunned and had nothing more to say."

Cougar looked up at the General, "I was in the East for a while, which is where I found my future," At this he glanced at Natalie who blushed and looked away as the General followed his gaze to her. Cougar continued, "And then the two of us travelled and came into contact with these new allies and after fighting the West came with them to you."

Todou smiled and stood at the General's right shoulder. He smirked again as Mitch walked over to Moka thinking she was Kallen, "Ha, ha, ha, well I think you should know Mitch, that's not Kallen."

Kallen stepped forward and smiled coolly at Mitch, "Well my hair is longer than hers, but I don't know what you were expecting, I can't have it that long when I'm trying to use my Radiant Wave Surger." With that she took off the cloak that had been covering her right arm, hiding it from the view of the Northerners. "Well what do you think of me now?" She walked right up to Mitch and grabbed his chin with her RWS claw and gently lifted his face to look her directly in the eyes. She smirked, "Why are you afraid?"

"Why do all the guests fall for that same trick every time..." Braun asked himself as the real general was revealed and the joke was over. "It matters not, my great and just general, may we step into your place of meeting and discuss the next events we will take?" Braun asked intently and then waited patiently for an answer. The other nine men that Braun had brought with him as escorts had not left yet, they were currently standing by outside of the meeting place just like everyone else...

"I'll say . . ." Koya said as the General laughed. Eden shook his head as his partner Lee watched the Northern General with a smile.

"Your kidding me, this is the youngest of the four Generals? You're kidding me right!? This man must be in his hundreds by now . . . I can't believe I followed you guys!" Eden started to shake his head when the General patted Aya on the head and whispered that her participation in the Western Military wouldn't mean anything anymore and then turned back to face Eden, "Youngest? Oh ho ho ho . . . no my dear boy. Weither you want to believe an old geezer like me or not- I'm the oldest General out of the four nations."

"Excuse me sir," Cougar said addressing the young man, "My report. I was in the East for a while, which is where I found my future . . ." at this he glanced at Natalie who blushed and looked away as the General followed his gaze to her. Cougar continued, "And then the two of us travelled and came into contact with these new allies and after fighting the West came with them to you."

If they have reached the North then we have no way to get to them. That is a fortress even the Death Knights are hard pressed to penitrate."

Lora smiled and stood next to the old man with Aya as he tried to reach back into his old and faded memory for how old he was. Giving up he began to laugh and glanced over to the person everyone was addressing as the General, "How old was I again Mitch?"

"Last month, on the thirtith, you had your one thousandth birthday my dear General." Mitch said as everyone stopped and looked over at the old man. Kallen released Mitch's chin as she stared at the geezer, who was laughing at the wanton stares aimed at him. He coughed a bit and gave a gap toothed grin while walking over to the doors.

"Didn't think the General of the North was so good looking did you youngsters?" he joked as he tried to open the doors, but failed. Mitch gave a laugh and walked over, easily opening the doors. "Why do all the guests fall for that same trick every time," Braun thought to himself as the real general was revealed.

"S-So . . . how are you so old . . . uh . . . sir?" Lora said to Omar's shock. Holding her mouth to told her that wasn't how to address someone of that high rank and, not that he wanted to say it, age.

"Oh ho ho ho! You really want to know how come I've lived so long, hmmm?" the General asked through a wrinkled grin as Lora nodded her head. Pointing to Mitch the General smiled again and laughed, "You can blame ol' Mitch over there. After all . . . that 'young' man is older than I am."

(sorry for my inactivity. If it's ok, can we forget all i've posted so far? I'll just say i'm in the base, working as a healer. Same as before, but in the proper time and place, lol)

Haruto tied off a bandage around a wall guards head, sealing a wound he recieved from a recent Death Knight attack on the outer perimeter. The man groaned and Haruto was quick to turn up his medicine drip, putting more painkiller in his system. After a few seconds he went back to sleep, resting deeply. With a quick prayer he turned his attention on the room itself, cleaning up the bloody areas and disinfecting everything.

He sighed. *All this fighting.... Well, at least I'm not short on finding a job!* He thought to himself, but it was a shallow thought, and he quickly banished it. *I'm doing my gods work, and that's all i need.* With his convictions reaffirmed, he headed out of the bases main medical building, traveling to the General's tent, so he may give him his report on the sick, wounded, and the wall's defenses so far.

Aya smiled as the General said that he didn't care that she was once with the Western Military. If this man, who had watched power corrupt the West, could forgive her then no one else had any right not to.

Cougar stepped up to the General to help him stand, "Sir I wish to ask you if you would mind upholding the promise you made to me long ago." Seeing that the man was unable to remember he said it out loud, "It was shortly after the Battle of the Cebres Mountain Fortress, I asked you if I could leave as a free-walker, and still hold my rank. You said that if I found my future outside the walls of the North that you would grant my wish. I have done as you said, Natalie is all I see in my future now." Cougar looked down on the old man and hoped that he would grant the wish, it was all that he wanted, the freedom to be with Natalie without the restrictions and limitations of an Elite Guard of the North, but to still have the authority and rank.

Kallen smiled as Mitch looked away trying to recompose his face so that his fear didn't show as he opened the door for the General, *I wonder why he thought Moka was me, and how he knew my name but not who I was.* She followed the Cougar supporting the General, and the others into the room, it turned out to be a large hall with an enormous table along the center with just enough chairs to fit them all.

Kiria nodded at Ike's comment about how strong the Northern Fortresses, "I know what you mean. Even with all of my power I was hard pressed to crush the Toro Mountain Fortress, but that was forty years ago and I've grown much more powerful." He smiled a wicked smile at Alisa and Ike, "I say we follow them anyway, we can sneak into there and then decide whether or not to make a move."

Alisa turned to Ike, "I agree to a point, we can follow the trail now and track them to whereever they went. We can always change our mind later."

Somewhat still in anger, mass confusion and several other things that can not be said at this moment, just for for the fact he can not make words for them. But nevertheless he shock it off like he always dose and went along with the group. With him fulling knowing nothing at the moment and just going along with the group like he always dose.

With a quick prayer he turned his attention on the room itself, cleaning up the bloody areas and disinfecting everything.

No one moved as the reality sunk in. The Northern General was one thousand years old . . . it seemed impossible, but if it was true then he had been around since the war began. Before anyone could speak Cougar, who already knew of the General's age, stepped up to help him stand, "Sir . . . I'd like to ask you about the promise you made to me."

The old General smiled as Cougar led him into the study, listning to him explain the details of the promise along the way as if he had forgotten. Seeing the General being lead away Aya smiled, her thoughts repeating what he said . . . "I do not care if you were from the West. I won't hold that against you my dear." Not even noticing it Lora had began to push her as Kallen, watching Mitch, helped the withered old man into the large room, "I wonder why he thought Moka was me? And how did he know my name . . . but not who I was?"

The room, as it turned out, was a large hall with an enormous table along the center; adorned with just enough chairs to sit everyone comfertably. Sitting down the General let out another of his merry laughs and interrupted Cougar just before he finished, ". . . done as you said, Natalie is all I se-"

"Oh ho ho ho . . . so all you see in your future is a pretty girl is it Cougar, hmmm? My boy," The General scooted up in his seat and gave a raspy sigh, "Your future, along with everyone in this room, will become more complicated and intertwined than you could imagine. So you have not done as I requested."

Hearing the General almost tell Cougar he would be denied his wish, Mitch stepped forward and lightly put his hand on the old man's shoulder and gave a cought to get his attention, "However . . . to find love during such times or turmoil . . . that is more than we expected. So I suppose we can grant your wish."

Courgar's face lite up as the truth sunk in, the General laughed loudly as he thanked them and smiled to Natalie, having his wish granted. Eden stepepd in front of Cougar, almost knocking him over and slamed his hand on the table, "I hate to interrupt! But I'd like to know how someone like you could be a thousand years old!?"

Lee ran into Eden as everyone, including Cougar, leaned in to hear the explination of why the General had reached such an amazing old age. Everyone was listening closely as the man gave raspy breaths until he smiled, making most of the people annoyed.

"So how are you so old . . . uh . . . sir?" Lora said to Omar's shock.

"All this fighting . . . well . . . at least I'm not short on finding a job," he thought but he quickly shook it from his mind. With the though gone he headed out of the bases main medical building, traveling to the General's tent, so he may give him his report on the sick and wounded. Walking inside he could see the General looming over his desk, a normal routine in these hard pressed days, with his pencil scribbling and drawing up battle plans as fast as his mind could create them. Cursing under his breath he crumpled the paper into a ball and threw it amongst the small mound that had formed, "There has to be a way we can win! There has to be . . ."

"This isn't good. If they have reached the North then we have no way to get to them. That is a fortress even the Death Knights are hard pressed to penitrate," Ike said as he stopped and shook his head; his mind having already proccesed the data.

"I know what you mean. Even with all of my power I was hard pressed to crush the Toro Mountain Fortress, but that was forty years ago and I've grown much more powerful," he smiled at Alisa and Ike, "I say we follow them anywa. We can sneak into there and then decide whether or not to make a move."

"I agree to a point, we can follow the trail now and track them to where ever they went. We can always change our mind later."

Ike gave a sigh a foolish human who, no matter what power he possessed, was still human and a "defective" android who didn't know any better. But what was he going to do? He would agree to trail them to the Northern Capital, but any attempt to get inside would be met with failure, of that he was certain.

Braun was done having his share of waiting but he didn't want to hurry the Northern General either, but he decided that time was of the essence and it was better to go at quicker pace on this day. "Sir, with all do respect, let us move on with the stratagem of this meeting. We need not waste time when the enemy could be at our doorstep at any moment." In some perspective Braun was being very wise and efficient but to others it could have been seen as arrogant and disrespectful...
