AsterikcAde
I do it sometimes if the remote runs out of batteries...
ragnarok1945
only if the batteries die, which usually I replace before that happens

ragnarok1945
I did have to do it often at my friend's house though, his house has a REALLY bad shortage of batteries
Phantom Roxas
No, that's why they built a remote. If I do use buttons on the TV, it's probably because I'm closer to the T.V. itself than the actual remote, but even then it's still on very rare occassions. ragnarok1945
Actually I think if you hold the remote (at least some types) TOO close, the remote won't respond to the TV
Phantom Roxas
Oh no, I didn't mean that. Like, the remote can be sitting on the TV or couch (depending on which TV I'm using), but I could just press the button on the TV manually instead. But even then, I usually just grab the remote, sit down, and go from there.
El Beasto Perezoso
Only if the remote is not in my immediate or near grasp.
ragnarok1945
same here, I usually don't use the buttons on the TV, unless of course it's like a brand new remote on a cable box I've never seen before, whereas the TV buttons I've had experience for quite some time, that's the only exception where I'd INITIALLY use the TV buttons
Raelen
Mostly, yes. For some reason, the buttons on my remote control that change the channel aren't working. Lousy piece of crap. -_-
ragnarok1945
why can't you just get another remote then?

ragnarok1945
why can't you just get another remote then? Cheap parents. -_- well how much is the remote supposed to cost? If it's not too much, a job of working just 1 week should get you more than enough money

Walking to the TV isn't too much trouble.
ragnarok1945
no, unless it happens to be a plasma flat screen on the ceiling then you'll be needing a ladder to reach it
Kendo Fish
I used to, when the remote control wasn't working. I don't anymore, though, so I choose No.

ragnarok1945
and this is why TVs should be sold WITHOUT the remote force us to walk up to it
Zexaeon
No, but it's only because I can't. >_> We're linked to a dish, so pressing the buttons on the TV doesn't do anything. I'd use them if I could, though.
