El Majishan
Ok so my friend and I had this debate: Both Destiny Hero Plasma and Light and Darkness Dragon are in play, Plasma negates monster effects and Light and Darkness negates card effect. The question is which monster negates the other effect. I say Plasma negates Light and Darkness because his effect is continuous while Light and Darkness is a trigger effect. My friend disagees. Snitch
Technically, L&DD counters Plasma as his effect triggers with Plasma's as chain, so, Plasma's effect will be entirely countered out. It's like activating Royal Decree in response to a trap - the trap will still activate first, and then all traps are negated. So, L&DD wins. Psycho Shocker Android
LaDD reads : This card cannot be Special Summoned. While this card is face-up on the field, its Attribute is also treated as DARK. When a Spell or Trap Card is activated, or the effect of an Effect Monster is activated, that activation is negated and this card loses 500 ATK and DEF. When this card is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard, select 1 monster in your Graveyard. Then destroy all cards you control, and Special Summon that monster. And for continuous monster effects : Continuous monster effects never activate they are taken in account when the monster is face up on the field. Continuous Monster Effects do not start a Chain, so thus cannot be chained to. That being said you were right, when plasma hits the field his effect is "applied" and negates LaDD (don't forget he loses his dark attribute too). You can then equip LaDD to him since LaDD cannot negate his trigger effect anymore. But if LaDD is destroyed and sent to the graveyard, plasma won't be able to negate his effect since he is no longer on the field. Hope this helps. GenzoTheHarpist
Plasma is continuous, thus he never activates and is never negated.

And even if you were to call priority on Plasma's effect to eat LaDD or another monster, the continuous effect is still already applied for you cannot activate a monster effect before it is summoned successfully. Santi :D
Continous effect monsters take the fun out of chaining..
kimmy1235
I think that plasma would stop LaDD, but if you own World Championship 08 you can just play the two cards and see what happens.

On topic: LaDD can't negate Plasma because Plasma's effect never "activates"; It's continuous No. LaDD clearly states it is DARK only while face-up on the field.
