Hydra of Ages
"Hm?" Leif glanced back at the one who stopped him."Oh, ello there, you're that GM bloke who got right fixed by that virus."He paused, wondering somewhat why the mask apparently gave him British jargon, but shrugged it off. "Didn think you survived, mate. But, as for the piece o' your mask, it seemed a waste to let it waste away on the ground back there, so I turned it into this." He tapped the smart-looking whitish mask he wore. "I think the mask takes a fancy to me, it's been doing a couple of odd things without my explicit instruction. Besides, it's made up of more of my materials than yours." He tapped a finger. "And you're still up to doing horrific things to me after taking, what was it, about 50 attacks from a Chimeratech Overdragon? Yeesh, you're really a trooper, aren't you?" Hydra of Ages
Leif inspected his fingernails, despite obviously not being able to see them through the mask. "Yeah, I noticed. Few I can actually activate on my own, though; I'm getting the feeling whatever fragment I turned into the mask, didn't include the method for actually imputing the commands." He paused, thinking."You have a point, though. I'm a Mask Salesmen, not a Mask Theif. I take samples of things of note, and turn them into masks... that I may, or may not sell. By all rights, part of this mask is yours, while part of it is mine... Therefor, I propose a solution. Either you buy the Mask from me- though keep in mind, I don't sell for money, I only sell for an item of equal curiosity value-" Leif paused, and took out his deck. "Next, using its effect, I special summon The Grim Face of Death from my hand, in defense position." There was a short pause, as a creature burst through the ground next to Reaper Zakra. It was a dead, rotted-looking zombie creature with scraps of a reaper's robe still around it. It wore a badly splintered brown mask over its rotted visage (0/100). There was a breif pause, as Zakra twirled his sickle, then chucked it in a flurry of flame at the opposing monster. (1100/900)-(900/0) The opposing monster winced, but looked confused as the scythe harmlessly passed through him, and returned to Zakra's hand. The reaper's mask started glowing. Hydra of Ages
Leif raised his hand dramatically. "Hold it! I chain to the activation of Heartless Serenade #1, activating Reaper Oath!" One of his face-down cards flipped up, to reveal a trap card with a diagram of several ghostly hands clutching at a broken-down mask. He paused, then smiled. "To activate it, I must pay 1000 life points. But its effect has nothing to do with the Serenade itself, so go ahead." [L=7000]He waited patiently as Sigma finished his turn. [Draw phase]He drew a card from his deck, then smiled. "The effect of Reaper Oath allows me to special summon any Reaper I draw from my deck, and draw again, with one catch- the summon is considered a Normal Summon for the purpose of that card's effect. Meaning my Reapers will still return to the top of my deck at the end of the turn." He paused for a second, before flipping over his drawn card and showing it to Sigma. "As he returned to the top of my deck last turn, it's fairly obvious who I drew." There was a cackle and a burst of flame as Reaper Zakra returned to the field (1100/900). He paused, and drew another card. He smiled. "Luck's with me today. I drew a card known as Reaper Deya- so say hello!" There was a brief pause as another Reaper appeared in a burst of wind. It appeared similar to Zakra, but had a wide, green mask with horns (700/1700)."As that was another reaper, in a style much like Heart of the Underdog, I get to draw again." He drew his third card. "This isn't a Reaper". He added it to his hand. [L=3] [standby phase][Main Phase 1] "Now... don't be fooled by the wording, my Reaper Oath summons are only considered Normal Summons for their effects, nothing else. So I still get to summon this turn." He paused, and plucked a card from his hand. "I summon Dead Eye."The monster appeared; this one was a disgusting creature, looking like a diseased, zombie Big Eye with rotting limbs and bloodshot eyes. It let out a moan as it appeared. "Next, I'll activate its effect. By tributing a Zombie on the field, I can look at, and rearrange in any order, the top 5 cards of my deck. I'll sacrifice Deya". The Zombie's many eyes glowed, and Reaper Deya exploded into shards. put his Hand in his pocket, as he picked up the top 5 cards from his deck. After a second of consideration, he moved a couple cards around, and placed it back onto his deck."Finally, I'll use my The Grim Face of Death's ability to Special Summon Deya back to the field." The masked zombie lead out a groan, as the ground shifted. Moments later, Deya exploded out of the ground with a tornado, then settled on the ground. "Note that this IS a special summon, so Deya will not return to my deck this turn." Leif smiled, then looked at his cards. "As I have the opportunity, I'll now utilize Deya's effect. Unlike Zakra, Deya does not need to harm you to activate her effect; Once per turn, she can reduce any face-up attack position monster to 0 attack. I select your Sinful Songstress." He smirked. "Finally, I'll set another card..." Another face-down card appeared next to Reaper Oath. [L=1]"I'll now be entering my Battle Phase. Any questions?" He chuckled teasingly. "It was a confusing turn." 'When he is summoned, I can summon two of my level 4 or below Black Serenade monsters from my graveyard, which means that my Doom Guitarist and Sinful Songstress return for an encore, Doom in attack mode and songstress in defence. And I would like to add that the cursed writer gains 900 ATK/DEF for each Black Serenade, not including himself on the field, I have 3, so he grows to 2700' he called. Once more, the flaming sick-wielding phantom appeared."And now I draw again; thanks to Dead Eye, I have my next couple draws set up well. I summon Reaper Adegos."A new Reaper appeared on the field, this one in a geyser of water. It wore a long blue mask, that appeared to be screaming. (1300/800)"Adegos has a useful ability. While he's on the field, my Reapers aren't affected by any of your Trap or Spell cards." Leif paused. "You'll notice I have 5 monsters on the field now, meaning that even if I draw another Reaper, I can't summon it to the field. Therefor, I don't have to tell you what it is, Reaper or not." He drew his next card, and added it to his hand. [Main Phase 1]"Firstly, I'll tribute Reaper Adegos for Dead Eye's effect, and look at my next 5 cards. Seeing as I drew two cards this turn, this means I reveal a further two cards."He picked the cards off his deck. He paused."Here's a little oddity. I picked a card known as "Reaper Horizon". Horizon is an odd reaper, as he doesn't have an additional effect while he's on the field; instead, if I pick him up (not draw, that is), for something like Dead Eye's effect, I can forfeit him to the graveyard in order to add another three cards to the effect of the card that picked him up. Meaning, I discard Reaper Horizon, and pick up an extra three cards to rearrange along with the other four." He held up the seven cards, and smiled."Now, time for a little math, mister GM. Hydra of Ages
Leif chuckled. "I'm impressed. You managed to take out my entire field without even being able to attack all duel. He's very difficult to get rid of." The masked Zombie broke out from under the earth with a loud howl, standing next to Deya. "...And now, Grim can summon another Reaper from the grave himself. I select Zakra." With a flurry of flame, once again the Reaper appeared on the field. He seemed to grin at Sigma with his masked face, saying 'I'm back'. He nodded, then placed another card on the field. "I activate a spell. This one has little to do with the Reapers, but it has an odd synergy with my deck. I play Secret of Four." [L=2] The spell card revealed itself, showing a delicately made golden sigil, with crystal partisans sticking out from it at artistic angles. Four level stars were embedded within the sigil.
