Has The Simpsons jumped the shark yet? And if so, when?

Recommended Posts

Hello hello! It's time to talk about The Simpsons! :D

So I've heard many people say that Simpsons is just getting worse for each season (or perhaps even episode?) as they speak warm-heartedly of "the good days" (season 4 in particular) when Homer was more caring of his family ITP and when Phil Hartman was still a living person. Even though I also can relate to that, I've had a hard time trying to establish when this series exactly started to go wrong, I really have no idea! :O

So when did The Simpsons jump the shark in your opinion, or do you think it hasn't yet?

Discuss. :3

It's kind of declined in quality. I can't really tell when, but it still looks like it can go on for a little bit longer.

Well they ran out of ideas since season 12-ish.

If you actually went to checked tv.com and looked up the allusions in Simpsons eps' date=' more than 95% of the eps from season 13-ish on are merely siphoned from plays, books, films, etc.

[/quote']

It could be worse. I mean, they could recycle ideas from older episodes.

Sound familiar? (Family Guy)

In my opinion, they are better than ever....but nothing can beat season 8.

Actually among the recent eps, they did.

That one ep like 7 years back when Homer and Marge divorced (Homer intentionally made it happen after Milhouse's parents divorced) and then re-married.

Like 3 weeks ago, they showed that Reverent Lovejoy (who remarried them) was not a minister back then, so therefore that marriage was never legal.
