Will this site be better without the reps system?

Do you guys think this site will be better without the reps system? I was just wondering? I made this thread because I saw alot of people saying to get rid of the reps system.

The site being better? I think so. There will be less complaining/arguing about reps if they are gone. I'm on a few other forums, and this is the only one with a rep system. The other forums are fine without it. Everyone just kind of knows who is good and who is bad.

1 keeps people from negging someone till they quit

2 lets the newbs start without with a poor rep because of a dumb Q.

3 by removing the reps contest prize will points and thus card trade with points SHOULD go up.

Right! That is one of the reasons why lots of people get banned, and that is a reason why Johanderson is banned.

I agree.The reps system doesn't mean anything,but it does give our members a little bit of pride when they gain them.It would decrease the amount of bans...So yeah,I guess your right, though I worked hard to have the most reps on the site.

There is a rep complaint thread which virtually anhilates the darker side of the rep system, however there are obvious flaws and some reps slip right beneath the radar with ease. I'll say yes, as that really is the obvious answer.

NOTE: There can be upsides to this REP system of ours

 

1. People with higher reps are usually the people who are known to be greater and friendlier people... and other people can respect and these people will be friendly back (such as Deity Mitsu).... this is why we also have a MOD system

 

2. People will lower reps, cant be trusted at all... and a slight note on weather he should be on this site or not

 

But i agree to get rid of the rep system, people just use it for spamming...

i say yes, because as quoted above me the less reps people have the less people care about that member.

 

Also as others have said it leads to spam, and after some time get pointless, ex Deity Mitsu

People can make competition out of it,it gives them strive.Plus,if we don't have reps,we might as well not have points either,they aren't any more important than reps. Then what would we use for contests?That section would just fall apart.

Coming from the king of reps. Now I have nothing at all against you, I actually like you :), but, the contests can still be done with points, and can also be done with Real Life cards if its a big contest (Chaoserver once did a contest where you won RL cards)

 

Also, Instead of "REPS", an ITRADER should be put in place, because REF TOPICS FOR ONLINE TRADING ARE SO SCATTERED... THat way, you cant just be like "This guy is a nice guy" you actually have to trade with that person.

 

And giving points to someone would not earn you +1 Itrader xD

They are more important. Points are used to buy real cards, graphics and other things. Points are like currency.

 

But yes, the rep system would be better without.

The points system might actually be useful once again if there wasn't the currency of most members' choice here, our rep system. Card trade dealings would skyrocket.

lol, banning card for card here only makes sense FOR THE FACT THAT NO ONE HERE SEEMS TO HAVE ANY EXPERIENCE IN CARD TRADING.

 

Seriously, if you REALLY need something, use a reliable trading site.
