Suggestion to stop spamming

Recommended Posts

[align=center]If you've seen the comments in youtube, you'll see a spam button. If you press that on someone else's post, it will be hidden because of spam.

I know this is asking a lot on YCMaker but maybe you could implement something like that here? It'll tell you who said that was spam, and you can press a button that shows the post. If the post wasn't spam, they get a warning.

Again, I know this is asking a lot of you YCMaker but it's just a suggestion.

Summary of Umbra's post, before I read it:

it won't work. gtfo.

Huh. Well, this is completely redundant. "Report" exists, y'know, and if you don't hit the button, it's your own fault.

there is a report button, but that is usually slow and uneventful, especially when your friendly neighborhood moderator isnt around.

i like the idea, but maybe some tweaking. maybe when they click this new button, you would have to state a reason why it is that it is being hidden. This will then be sent to the mods like any other report, and if they deem it fair they will keep it as is. if not, undue it and a percentage warning issued.

it would really help keep the spam away, so that others dont comment on it as it continues to stay there, and if it isnt declared spam then it would just reappear in the thread. no biggie.

it seems like a good idea, better than the report and wait method. i would support under a more revised idea, similar to mine. ;)

Well, if Report immediately 'deleted' the post, that would work fine.

Good idea! Have stupid n00bs saying every post that's not their's is spam to overload YCMaker and mods is a great idea! [/sarcasm]

It's called the report button, like everyone else said. If you're to lazy to press it, well, you're problem. Not ours.

Good point.

I withdraw my support.
