E.T.

The Slime Lord

Recommended Posts

The first thing that comes to mind when I hear this game's name is green Reese's Pieces. :D

Yeah' date=' I know some of you all have heard of it before. It's considered one of the worst video games in history. And earlier today, [b']I bought it at a retro game store for $1.[/b] It's a shame I don't have even have an Atari 2600, but whatever. So yeah, discuss...

You just got ripped off pretty badly. :P

I love how this game is often called a cause for the video game crash. The crash happened because their were many crap game, ET was just one of many. (Granted it was one of the worse). The other main problem I remember seeing when I did a report on this was that their were a lot of different systems at this time and so buyers didn't know what to pick. If memory serves their was one or two more reason but I can't remember them off hand.

Slime since you can't play it see if AVGN needs it. I want to see him do a ET vid.

Also who has played ET?

This game in particular, along with a few others like Pacman 2600, is often singled out among the crowd as the cause.

There were about 6 console if I remember right. All had like 10-20 games and no one knew what to get XD

Ya, pretty much. Not to mention PC's were catching people's attention more than video games were at the time.

That doesn't mean their right. This is one of the worse games ever made, but a nice handful of the other games at the time weren't that much better.

It's like tring to find the piece of crap that smells best. Even if it doesn't smell, it's still crap.

Their we go. That was the other main cause I was thinking of.

1) Trust me. There were some other ultra-crap games at the time, but for many people, the one that did it for them was E.T.

ET was just...*sigh* The way to collect bonus points was collecting those stupid little candy pieces

Those candies (y'know, the green ones?) were Reese's Pieces (y'know, the ones that come in orange, yellow, brown, and not green?)

In addition to that, they also made more copies of the game than there were Atari 2600s. I heard that's why they buried a ton of copies in a desert. :P

He already owns a copy of it I believe.

I think it was on his shelf during the "Halloween" episode.

E.T. isn't the worst game ever. It's Action 52.

Yep. Right before you first see Mikey Meyers outside his window.
