What is Yu-Gi-Oh!V

Well Yu-Gi-Oh!V is set after the end of Yu-Gi-Oh!GX. It take place in Domino City, where Kiba Corp have just announced a new duel tournament...the World Championships Duel! This new tournament will travel around the world lookin for the best duelist in each country, then at the end it will pit the best of the best against each other the find the true dueling king.

Personality: Nate is an outgoing, fun loving, caring teenager who loves to break the rules and escape from the ensuing trouble. However, he does have a very dark side which can be very self destructive that sometimes makes his friends and more improtantly his girlfriend worried.

Age: 15

Hair Colour: Blonde

Hair Style: Flowing, quite like Alexis'

Hair Length: Shoulder length

Personality: Nate's girlfriend, who loves to have fun but hates it when Nate breaks the rules. When Nate's darker side starts to show she gets very concerned and tries everything to stop that side from showing, and it has worked....so far.

Deck: X-Saber

Personality: Much the same as Nate's however if he is ever asked to do any kind of hard work, he mostly complains, then does it, then complains about again after doing it. He has alot of experience with Nate's implosive second nature so he has learned to cope with it and let Nate calm down by himself.

Deck: Crystal Beasts

Personality: His personality is mostly the same as it was in Yu-Gi-Oh! GX however he has grown up alot and has decided to decome a engineer instead of a Duelist, but duelling is still quite close to his heart. He is also the uncle of Nate so wants to teach Nate about duelling and the importance of monster spirits.

 

 

 

 

[spoiler=TURN 1: TOURNAMENT REELS Pt1]

 

Walking home after school, the sun setting behind the mountains, someone suddenly caught Alex’s eye.

 

“NAAAATTTEEEEE!!!” he shouted at the top of his lungs

 

Nate turned around and let out a little sigh.

 

Later on the walk home, “Sooooo, are you going to enter this new tournament?” asked Alex.

 

“I don’t know mate.” Answered Nate “To be honest I don’t know if I can be bothered with anymore tournaments.”

 

Alex mouth dropped suddenly. “YOU CAN’T BE BOTHERED WITH TOURNAMENTS!!!” he yelled “Why not, you used to love playing in tournaments when we were younger and you kept dreaming of becoming the Duel King. What happened?” Alex inquired worried about why his friend was so distant again.

 

“Well…….I guess I’ve just grown tired. I mean, every time I enter I end up winning because I’m one of the best. Yeah I do get some challengers but it’s all the same now” Nate replied in monotone.

 

“But this is different, this time you will get a real challenge. In fact….”Alex ended and ran off, leaving Nate wondering what was going through his head.

 

Later that evening, Alex came round to Nate’s house to bring him an invitation he couldn’t resist.

 

“This is the advert I’ve just got off the TV, just look at the pros that are going to be backing the tournament. They are also going to have semi-pros there competing for the title. Here’s your chance, please enter.” pleaded Alex.

 

Nate pondered for a while……”Ok Alex, on one condition.”

 

“ANYTHING!!!” replied Alex in an excited voice.

 

“WHATTT WHY DID I AGREE TO THIS!!!” yelled Alex.

 

“Well you wanted me to enter so this is my way of seeing if I’m still too good.” replied Nate calmly.

 

“Yes but a duel against me?! Why me?!” cowered Alex.

 

“Well it’s too late now.” said Nate.

 

“DUEL!!” shouted both Alex and Nate together.

 

“I think I’ll go first Alex. So draw…I play my Arcane Apprentice in attack (Fire-type / Level 2 / Spellcaster, Tuner / ATK 1000 / DEF 400) I then lay one face down and call it a turn. You go Alex, lets see what you got.” Nate said.

 

“Ok, my turn, draw. I play my Marauding Captain in attack (Earth-type / Level 3 / Warrior, Effect / ATK 1200 / DEF 400) this allows me to play another Level 4 monster, so I choose………X-Saber Axel in attack (Earth-type / Level 1 / Beast-Warrior, Effect / ATK 400 / DEF 100) then I attack your Arcane Apprentice with Marauding Captain!!” Alex said

 

Nate interrupted “Sorry Alex but I was waiting for that, I activate my Threatening Roar trap. This means you can’t declare an attack this turn so I’m still standing…and so is my Arcane Apprentice”

 

“I end, your turn” ended Alex

 

Nate continued “Right then my turn. DRAW! Hmmmm, I start with this, my Skilled White Magician in attack (Light-type / Level 4 / Spellcaster, Effect / ATK 1700 / DEF 1900) now whenever you activate a spell card, I get I counter on my monster. I then play my Future Fusion spell card. Now I send my Dark Magician and my Buster Blader from my deck to my grave. In two of my standby phases, I get their fusion. NOW SKILLED WHITE MAGICIAN….ATTACK HIS X-SABER!!” Shouted Nate.

 

Alex’s Life Points: 6700

 

“I end my turn.” continued Nate.

 

“Wow that smarts. Now it’s my turn so I draw. And I play my field spell…Gaia Power.”

 

“Did you forget my Magicians effect?? Now I get 1 counter, only 2 more to go.” interrupted Nate.

 

Alex continued “Now I play my Gazelle the King of Mythical Beasts in attack mode (Earth-type / Level 4 / Beast / ATK 1500 / DEF 1200) now thanks to my field spell my Earth-type monsters gain 500 attack (Marauding Captains ATK: 1700 / Gazelle’s ATK: 2000) NOW I ATTACK!!” Shouted Alex “Gazelle, destroy his Skilled White Magician!”

 

Nate’s Life Points: 7700

 

“Now my Captain attacks your Arcane Apprentice!”

 

Nate’s Life Points: 7000

 

“I end!” finished Alex

 

“This could be tougher than I thought, maybe I’ve left it too long, I’m almost forgetting my own strategies” thought Nate whilst he faced down too monster with no defence of his own.

[spoiler=TURN 2: TOURNAMENT REELS Pt2]

“It’s your turn Nate, wotcha waiting for?” Asked Alex

 

“Nothing…..Here goes” Nate drew a card from his deck hoping for the right one.

 

“ALRIGHT!!” shouted Nate “I got it. Now I activate my Shallow Grave spell card. This card allows us both to special summon a monster in our graves in face down defence mode. So I’m choosing this one.”Nate special summoned his monster in defence.

 

“Ok…” started Alex “…I guess I’ll choose this one then” he also special summoned his monster in defence.

 

“Ok Alex, are you ready for this?” Alex look nervous as Nate smirked the one sided smirk he does when he’s about to play the potentially game changing card. Nate always seemed to do that odd, yet mesmerising smirk when he was playing the right card, and this time was no different. No matter how long it had been since he had actually duelled, he still had what it took to draw the right card, and then play it in exactly the right way.

 

“Now because you have a monster on your field, I can sacrifice my face down monster…to summon this guy thanks to his effect.” Nate sent his face down monster back to his graveyard and a flash of light filled his field as he shouted “NOW I SUMMON……EVIL HERO MALICIOUS EDGE!!” the flash of light transfigured into his monster. (Earth-type / Level 7 / Fiend, Effect / ATK 2600 / DEF 1800) Nate then said “He’s quite summit isn’t he Alex?”

 

Alex stood there looking at Nate’s monster in awe. Then spluttered “Y-Y-Yeah, I…He is” Alex was completely taken aback that Nate hadn’t duelled in 3 years and yet, somehow, knew how to put on an completely amazing show, even if it was in his back garden.

 

Nate then, once again, spoke in that monotone voice “Now, thanks to your field spell, my monster gains 500 attack points (Evil Hero Malicious Edge: ATK 3100) Now Malicious Edge……attack his face down monster.”

 

“WHATT!!” yelled Alex “NOOO, THAT’S…THAT’s!” before Alex could finish Nate jumped in and finished his sentence for him.

 

“That monster is X-Saber Axel. With only 100 defence points and thanks to my monsters special effect, you take damage equal to the different, so that’s 3000 points!” Alex was stunned and in his awe, couldn’t move an inch. Nate’s monster then destroyed Alex’s face down X-Saber Axel. Then with another devastating blow, took 3000 of Alex’s Life Points.

 

Alex’s Life Points: 3700

 

With an almighty yell Alex fell to the floor “AHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! Damn……….That was awesome” Alex suddenly realised that one more attack like that and he would be hanging on by the tinniest of threads. “I really need to stop that from happening again. HAHA!” both Alex and Nate burst out laughing. At that moment, Abbie came rushing into the garden.

 

“What are you boys doing?” She yelled at them. If she hadn’t of yelled they would have never heard her because of their laughing.

 

“Where laughing Abbs…HAHAHAHA!” answered Nate though his laughter.

 

“Well I can see that but why? What’s so funny?” snapped Abbie look confused and slightly annoyed.

 

“It’s just that…well Alex here has helped me get back into duelling!” Nate explained well smiling and looking at his deck “This is the first time in three years that I’ve had this much fun when duelling. Well actually…it’s the first time I’ve duelled in the three years.” Nate suddenly realised that he didn’t hate duelling; he had just lost the fun. And this was the duel that brought all the fun back.

 

“Back to the duel Nate!” called Alex. Abbie then just sat on the grass and looked on.

 

“MY DRAW!” Alex drew a card from his deck “I Play two cards face down and play a monster in defence. That’s all I can do for now so it’s no your turn Nate.” Alex ended his turn quickly, he was trying to stall for time and get a strategy in place. But before Alex could finish thinking, Nate started his turn.

 

“Draw. Have you forgotten my Future Fusion spell Alex?” ask Nate as he looked at Alex’s face suddenly turn to worry. “Now that its my second stand-by phase after its activation, I’m allowed to fusion summon……DARK PALADIN!” (Dark-type / Level 8 / Spellcaster, Fusion, Effect / ATK 2900 / DEF 2400) Shouted Nate and a flash of light again erupted from the field and formed Dark Paladin. Alex looked at the new monster on Nate’s field and once again was awe struck on how Nate had played his cards. Nate then spoke again “Now I summon my Assault Beast” (Earth-type / Level 4 / Beast-Warrior, Effect / ATK 1900 / DEF 1200)

 

“I guess this is it then Nate.” Alex spoke with respect in his voice “It’s been a great duel…well done mate”

 

Nate responded with respect in his voice as well “Yeah, it’s been good mate. Thank you” Nate then ordered the attack “Ok…Malicious Edge, attack his face down monster!” Alex suddenly responded

 

“Sorry Nate, but I activate my spell…SCAPEGOAT!” the spell card flipped up and glowed as it activated. But Nate already knew what was coming, and had prepared.

 

“I activate my Dark Paladin’s effect. Now I discard 1 card from my hand to negate the activation of your spell…and destroy it” Alex couldn’t believe what just happened, he knew he was going to loose, but he didn’t care. He just loved the duel and loved how Nate was duelling.

 

Dark Paladin raised his staff and the two green jewels glowed. Alex’s spell card began the get a dark green aura around it and then it exploded. Now that Alex’s spell had gone, Malicious Edge could carry on with his attack and so he did, destroying Alex’s face down monster. Then Nate said “Now my Dark Paladin attacks you directly Alex” Dark Paladin raised his staff once more, but this time he swung it backwards as he flew towards Alex, just before Dark Paladin hit, he swung his staff around and sliced Alex “ AHHHH!” called out Alex.

 

Alex’s Life Points: 800

 

Nate continued “Now it’s the attack of my Beast, so go; Assault Beast attack directly and win this!” and with that command, Nate’s Assault Beast flew forwards and this time swung his mace and hit Alex square on. Alex’s life points reduced to zero and all the cards on the field disappeared. Nate walked over to Alex and knelt down with him. “Thank you mate, you reminded me of how duels really are. Now let go and sign up for that tournament.” Nate got up and walked over to Abbie, who instantly got up and said “Finally, that’s what I’m here to tell you. If you want to sign up you only have a about half an hour” Abbie stopped talking and watched the two boys face’s drop.

 

“WWWHHHAAATTTT!!!” they both shouted at the top of their lungs. With that they ran off out of the garden and down into the city to sign up. Abbie was left to chase after them shouting “HEY…..I WANNA COME!!!!”

[spoiler=TURN 3: OLD FACES NEW PLACES]

Running down into the city to sign up for the tournament, Nate, Alex and Abbie hadn’t noticed that the time had passed and they only had 4 more minutes to sign up. Suddenly a car pulled up beside them. The door opened and out stepped Nate’s uncle. “What are you doing here?” Nate asked as the others watched on.

 

“Well I’m here looking for a card of mine” replied Nate’s uncle in a sort of Alabama accent. “Someone stole it from me a while back, I figured that they would try and use it in a tournament. So here I am.”

 

“WHAT!!” shouted Nate “Why would someone steal your card? I’ll help you get it back uncle!” Nate proclaimed.

 

“YEAH!! We’ll help too” shouted Abbie and Alex from a bench they were now getting up from.

 

Nate’s uncle continued “Right then, lets go. Hope in I’ll give you guys a ride” They all got into the car and drove to the tournament sign up dome in downtown Domino. “Well here we are” said Nate’s uncle “Come on lets go in their and find that card of mine.”

 

As they got out of the car, Abbie and Alex stopped Nate to ask him about his uncle. “Nate I’m sure I’ve seen him before. Who is he?” asked Alex.

 

“You have seen him before” replied Nate “He’s Jesse Anderson. My dad’s sister married him a couple o’ year’s ago.” Both Alex’s and Abbie’s mouths hung open for a while.

 

“That’s the famous Jesse Anderson…..” Alex couldn’t quite believe what he was hearing “You must be so amazed to have him as your uncle mate.” Alex was awe struck at the thought of Jesse as an uncle. This day dream was suddenly interrupted by Jesse calling over to them all.

 

“HEY YOU LOT!!!” he called in an excited manner. They all rushed over to him and gathered round to hear what he was about to say. “He’s here, the guy that took my Rainbow Dragon. He’s in there signing up.” Jesse explained “Now I know I’m not really a duelist anymore but I have to sign up to get my dragon back.” He continued.

 

Suddenly Nate spoke with a very determined look on his face “No.” he said to his uncle “I’ll sign up, heck I’m signing up anyway. But I’ll duel him and I’ll win your Rainbow Dragon back. I know how much it means to you, I’ll win.” Nate was so determined that everyone could see there was no arguing with him. Jesse then smiled and pulled out his old deck.

 

“Here then.” He told Nate “If you wanna defeat that guy, use my Crystal Beasts. I think they’ll give you good luck in the duel.” Jesse ended and gave his cards to Nate.

 

Nate looked at him, smiled and replied “I’d love to use them.”

 

As they walked into the sign up area, they were caught by a large man in a long, purple jacket. He spoke to Jesse and then saw Nate. His eyes suddenly opened wide as he spoke “Nate Izuma. Well it’s a pleasure to meet you. I’ve heard so much off your uncle. We need to talk…all of us.” And with that he led them to a coffee shop within the dome, they sat down and a waitress came to take their order.

 

After the waitress had brought their drinks, the large man started talking to them. “I’m sure you all remember who I am?” He asked, Nate did remember his face and his outfit however he just couldn’t remember his name. The man noticed this and then talked directly to Nate “I can tell your struggling to remember, let me refresh you memory. 3 years ago you signed up for Duel Academy, however you fell very ill and couldn’t enter. You were in hospital for 2 months in what all the doctors thought was a coma. However it wasn’t a coma was it Nate.”

 

Nate looked at him for a few seconds and then everything came flooding back. “Your Chancellor Sheppard aren’t you…from Duel Academy.” Nate said, the man smiled and nodded his head, then continued to speak, this time to everyone.

 

“Nate wasn’t in a coma for those 2 months, he was in the Duel Monster spirit world, were you not Nate.” Nate couldn’t forget what had happened at the start of that so called coma however no matter how hard he tried, he just couldn’t remember what had actually happened.

 

Suddenly, Abbie spoke with a worried tone “Please tell me what happened Nate, please.” Nate looked at her, then began to speak.

 

“It happened as I was Dueling I had just summoned my Stardust Dragon and suddenly I felt a sharp stabbing pain in my back, I fell to the ground and everything around me went completely black, I could still hear people shouting at me to get up…but I couldn’t. Then I heard another voice, this time it was coming from inside the blackness that surrounded me. It was weird but I listened anyway, then…” he paused for a moment and then continued “then I woke up in the hospital, I honestly can’t remember what had happened while I was there, all I know is that when I woke up, I didn’t want to duel and I was scared of what might happen if I did even though I knew nothing would.” Nate stopped there and looked around he table, Chancellor Sheppard was sitting nodding, his uncle was just sitting there in a day dream however Abbie lept out of her seat and grabbed Nate by then neck and hugged him tightly.

 

“Don’t you ever do anything like that again mister.” She said with tears in her eyes “I don’t know what I’d do if I lost you” She hugged him tighter now than ever. Nate hugged her back and then got up.

 

“I can see that you two already know this story” he said to the Chancellor and to his uncle. They both looked up and nodded their heads. “I think it’s time we signed up. But we might be too late.” Nate continued but was suddenly interrupted by the Chancellor.

 

“Don’t worry I have already signed you up. I had a feeling that you would be coaxed into taking part and so I signed you up.” The Chancellor explained.

 

“What about me, the names Alex” said Alex in an excited tone of voice.

 

“Ah” the Chancellor said “Don’t worry I can get you a place” he said as he walked over to the sign up desk. He took a few minutes to talk to the lady on the desk and then walked back over to the table. “There we go all sorted, you’ve been signed up as well Alex” on that note, the Chancellor then walked towards the door but stopped and turned around “OH NATE!” he called back to them “Don’t forget to always try your best, and all your memory of that ‘coma’ will come back in time. Have fun duelling” he then turned back around and walked out of the door.

 

Nate then turned and looked at an electronic display above the sign up desk. “The opening ceremony starts on Saturday at 9 o’clock with the opening duel being one out of the Pro's section of the tournament” Nate turned back around and started to walk out of the door.

 

“Where do you think your going?” Asked Abbie looking sternly at him. “If the opening ceremony is on Saturday, that means you only have one day to get ready so you have to train, train, train for the next day…STARTING NOW!!” Abbie shouted running at him “NOW RUN HOME NATE!” she shouted again. Nate had no choice in the matter so he ran out of the door with her close behind.

 

“Do they always do this?” asked Jesse.

 

“Yeah, mainly” replied Alex as they both walked out of the dome and followed Nate a Abbie back to Nate’s house.

 

“Well I hope she isn’t like this all the time. Otherwise I’m not even going to get a meal without having to work for it” thought Nate as he ran.

If you weren't refering to Saracasm, "Turns" are a short way of Episodes from the yu-Gi-Oh series...

 

This isn't bad but what I wonder is why are adults playing a Children's card game? Also, since those guys are 18- year olds they should act like ones, they act like little children. Other than what I just said, it's good!
