Holy Babylon
Anyone can obtain salvation that way, but in order to be a Christian you have to believe in Christ.
Guest JoshIcy
Never have never will.If I want to believe in what a person says, I'd rather hear it preached from their own mouth and in person. With their own emphasis and morals put into it. Then judge upon my own will, what to take in and what to dismiss.
.Requiem
Well that fine for other people, I see the bible a way to treat one another. I don't care who it is about. A person in history who had impacted the world, but why do it for salvation? Why not just do it out of the good of your heart?
Holy Babylon
You don't have to do it for salvation, you can do it for any reason, but God will see it anyways.

harhar
Bless your soul. The BIBLE is the greatest book ever. I beg to differ. The Bible gives people false hope' date=' as well as irrational fear, and has started more wars than anything else since the beginning of civilized man.[/quote'] Plus, all religions have their dark moments. Alright. Lets dissect this comment. Christianity has Hitler and the KKK.Islamic people are well known for wars mainly amongst themselves.Hinduism has no dark moments.Buddhism has no dark moments. Judaism has no dark moments. Not really. Most of the people that fight are fighting about other issues like oil and what not but they happen to be Muslim ;DTho some cases might be over religion but what are you gonna do about it?Muslims in most cases don't fight each other since it would be like fighting your brother.Hinduism, Buddhism and Judaism are far from important and cant possibly have dark moments. The Slime Lord
I used to. I was a Christian up until about 8th grade or so. Because I was slightly depressed around then, I thought it would be best to turn to God and read The Bible, so I did. But the whole time, I was thinking, "uh... this doesn't make any sense...". For the next few years, I began to question Christianity. Since my junior year started, I've been an atheist. So yeah, I don't read The Bible, and I haven't since I my parents made me go to some youth group thing during my "questioning" phase.

Sander
Please, we don't need any religious polls here. There are faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaar to many people with different opinions and ALWAYS start arguments. That's why religious topics shouldn't be posted up on YCM. YCM and Religion don't mix. On topic: No.
Holy Babylon
Well if god watches over us' date=' why not does he stop the conflict?[/quote']Does anyone actually pray to end the conflicts? Let me ask you; Do people pray to Him whenever, or only when they are in divine need? Maybe if He doesn't recieve His faith, then we do not deserve His. @Harris: What? The Sunni and Shia are out there blowing the crap out of the other almost every day. Think about the Kurds, they're basically in hiding.

Jericho
Praying to god is like praying to a jug of milk. It will give you one of 3 answers: yes, no, or wait. Say you pray to a jug of milk that you need a thousand dollars. One of 3 scenarios will occur. If you go check your mail and you get a letter from the IRS with a refund check for $1000, the answer was yes. If you check the mail every day and it comes after a few weeks, the answer was wait. If it never comes, the answer was no. Even if there was a god, who is believed to have a plan set for everyone, everywhere, and knows what will happen, when to everyone, then his is retarded. It is part of his plan for them to sin, no? It is part of his plan for them to go to hell. There is no way to avoid hell. Its all up to a big sky daddy who plans who lives and who dies. Hell. Maybe noone should be arrested for anything. After all, it was part of god's plan, and therefore out of your control, that you raped that woman and then hung her after stringing her innards out across the telephone wires, right? Jericho
Yes So if I raped, killed, and dismembered a woman, and you were on the jury, you would vote not guilty because it was part of god's plan?
