Well no stop talking now' date=' bible just repeats itself about a man who does miracles. Nothing special oh look the torah has stories and so does the quran.

[/quote']

Um, you're completely neglecting all of the other books in the New Testament. Sounds like you need to read it before you criticize.

Bless your soul. The BIBLE is the greatest book ever.

I beg to differ. The Bible gives people false hope' date=' as well as irrational fear, and has started more wars than anything else since the beginning of civilized man.

People aren't perfect, incase you didn't know. People will start a war over anything.

Plus, all religions have their dark moments.

Well most of the stories is about people being tested about their faith. Then how people should treat one another. So I don't need to read about obvious morals people should and know about.

Humans are sinful. We should know about them but we always get tempted to do things we shouldn't. That's a reason the Bible is important. It reminds us of how we should act. But that's not the most important part..

Alright. Lets dissect this comment.

Christianity has Hitler and the KKK.

Islamic people are well known for wars mainly amongst themselves.

Hinduism has no dark moments.

Buddhism has no dark moments.

Judaism has no dark moments.

EDIT:

It doesn't just remind you. There's a man in the sky to threaten you with eternal pain if you don't follow his obscure plan.

Humans are sinful, but by nature. I don't need a book to explain the obvious. What is morals? A book explains about the past. You can learn from the past, but there are several other important figures which can be sawed out to learn. Not just Jesus. Did you forget about the old testament >_> that part is interesting as in explain to a degree about the history. The new does nothing for me.

Christianity has Hitler and the KKK. ("The claim is sometimes made that Hitler was a Christian - a Roman Catholic until the day he died. In fact, Hitler rejected Christianity". As for the KKK, it was mostly Christians, I admit. Those people were not true Christians, otherwise they would've been able to see their errors in the words of the Bible.)

Islamic people are well known for wars mainly amongst themselves. (Wrong. They have been invading countries forcing people to take their religion for centuries including Africa and India. Mohammed led some bloody invasions himself.)

Hinduism has no dark moments. (Not that you know of.)

Buddhism has no dark moments. (Not that you know of.)

Judaism has no dark moments. (Not that you know of.)

@ Mirage: Yet the New Testament is the most important one.

You obviously have never read the New Testament. It shows. Do not argue about what you know nothing about.

I read it daily, I just read Jonah like ten minutes ago.

@ Jericho: Hitler was not a Roman Catholic! He never practiced Catholocism, he never wanted Catholocism. He had his own "branch" of Christianity called True Christianity. Hitler wanted to get rid of all forms of religion so that he could introduce his own branch. If you have ever seen the movie Valkyrie, that has some points on the subject, as Stauffenberg was a Catholic under Hitler. Stauffenberg wanted to kill Hitler so that one day his children could continue being the same kind of Catholic that he was. His branch, so called "True Christianity" had nothing to do with the Christ I know. His Christ was evil, was bad against the Jews, and had a completely butchered story seperate from what the New Testament tells.

Just because you do not like Christianity doesn't mean that you have to go out on an all-out argument about it.

Well Raelen it is not really important. Stories which tell you about Jesus doesn't mean they re important. You must view history as a whole with everything not simple stories about a single person.

You mean like the simple stories about Abraham?

@ Babylon: Both books are important in their own ways, although the New Testament is more important since it contains the Gospel.

Yes simple stories about Abraham' date=' yet the old testament doesn't get repetitive about a single story as it continues about more people and events.

[/quote']

The sign that it repeats more about Jesus is because:

a. It tells us that he's really important. It's like how poets repeat verses and words to emphasize a certain point. So did the writers in the Bible days.

b. It gives us more information about him, thus giving Christians a firm cornerstone of faith.
