Larxene
They don't work. Evar. Seriously, if you're going to "spiritually lock" a topic, there's still nothing stopping anyone from posting there. Unless their post actually IS saying something important instead of just saying "this needz 2 b locked", then start warning people damn it! Guest Fake Apology
OK, i want to ask a (maybe stupid) question. What are spiritual locks?:P
J-Max
Usually if a Mod shows up in the Topic, most people would Back off. That's the reason I do it. It's worked quite well so far as well, oh well until I become a Super and can actually Lock them (I wish lol) I'll just keep showing my presense.EDIT: Oh and Lar Lar. Spiritual Locks also come with a 20% Warning Level as a nasty surprise for anyone who posts afterwards :P

You spiritually locked both of those, but people still posted after you. IT DOESN'T WORK.
Guest Tiger
OK' date=' i want to ask a (maybe stupid) question. It's saying the thread is locked, but it really isn't. Make sense?
J-Max
But I am a Mod! lol Well i'll keep to the 20% thing anyway. Hopefully that will at least slow it down a little.

It's saying the thread is locked, but it really isn't. Make sense? Yes it does make sense. Now that i got what a spiritual lock is, isn't it kind of pointless? People know that moderators can't lock threads that are not located in their section/forum, so even if a mod posts saying a thread is locked, people will keep posting in it until a super one closes it. Conclusion: J-Max must become a super mod.xP
Umbra
A "spiritual lock" makes every post after that lock illegal, and classes it as Intentional Spamming, which in turn is a warnable offense.

J-Max
There's quite a big line between Intentional and Mild. Intentional is doing it non-stop over and over again. Mild is making that simple mistake of posting after a Mod has "Spiritually Locked" it. Like I said, I would prefer it if I could actually Lock them but this seems to be a slighty effective measure. Umbra
Intentional Spamming is spamming when you know that you are spamming, i.e. posting after a Spiritual Lock. So yeah, posting in an S-Locked thread is intentional spamming.
J-Max
But then 50% is a little Extreme lol. That's why I go with the Mild Spamming selection for 20%
Umbra
Posting in a thread that is locked in everything but name is Intentional Spamming. If I encounter it, there will be +50%'s on their way.

Bloodrun
The spiritual Lock is a load of crap. Along with this thread, it isn't a suggestion, its a rant. Anyway, I simply warn those whom should know not to post in a thread. In fact, I will no longer give a "verbal warning", if you break a rule, that you should know, your getting warned, and that's the bottom line. What is really humorous on the other hand is that you spill some liquid hate on Spiritual Locks, and then proceed to telling us that you are doing exactly what defines a Spiritual Lock.
