Well if it is a chat box for YCM then a lot of people would go on. If you mean indivual ones then why not just get AIM or something to comicate on?

Idk. A lot of ppl don't have that, i don't know why. Basically, if someone is online, you can go into a chat with them or stuff. You can block chat with some ppl if need. Things like that. It is just a fun way to communicate across the internet. Faster and more efficient then than PM's if the user is online.

It is not a part on the forum. It is just an option to chat with other active members. Therefore' date=' there is no spam, technically, it can reduce spam....

Au contraire. People will become used to shorter and more insignificant messages being acceptable, thus increasing the amount of spam on the forum.

MSN/AIM/etc is free. If people want chat, they can sign up there. Being faster and more efficient than PMs is exactly what's wrong with it; it'll inspire insignificant chats (pun not intended) rather than the discussions for which a forum is made.

I wouldn't see a point in this' date=' considering I don't know [i']anybody[/i] here in real life and not much of a friend with anybody here anyways. =\

You've never made a friend on YCM?! Why not?

Well, I guess it depends on how you define "friend". For me it's when you know someone so well you feel comfortable and wide open when talking to them.

That's how I define it, considering I have Asperger's Syndrome in real life. Not fun to live with, I gotta tell ya. >.<
