Magic the gathering is EPIC WIN

But no a childrens card game like yugioh...the thing is that MTG is focused in more adult-adolescent players....

That's the reason the structure of the Game is so complicated.

Magic is retarded.

Its stupid. Pointless, and IDC about adults. I am 15, why would I wanna hang out with adults?

I didn't meant adults.....I mean grown up teenagers...like from 14 or more...

not for 9 years old like guys that play YUgioh....

How can I explain....mmmmm....welll it took me about 2 years to actually leran how to play it but I started when I was 9...so you can see how difficult to a child is...it requires a logic level that not much childrens have...

BTW..is is not stupid it is not pointless and again if it wasn't for MTG non yugi non any other card game has been existed coz MTG invented the TCG concept.

Of course I like Yugioh in the same degree that I like Magic just that I don't think is fair that many people understimated it under really bad games...>.<

lol NO.

IDC much for yugioh anymore.

And tbh, in terms of popularity and money, pokemon kicks magic's ass.

AGAIN it happens coz pokemon is a LOL childrens card game of a childrens series....that put a lot of effort in marketing...and to sell cardboard, games and merchandising to lol childrens that has daddys and mommies who buy them....>.<

To Obsidian: I'm Not a triator....MTG came in 1993...yugioh in 1996...lol....anyway....I'm just defending MTG from duel masters and Pkemon not yugioh....Yugioh is the only original Card game along MTG...

in terms of product demand and marketability, yugioh IS the most popular TCG right now. i also love magic, and i agree that yugioh is not suited for younger kids the way it has been marketed in the non-japanese parts of the world. yugioh was originally for teens/young adults before 4kids and upperdeck got their sex/violence/semi-offensive concept hating claws into it.

topic for a debate: would it help or hurt yugioh if a character died. permanently. as in they cannot be brought back.

the inspiration for this topic is the constant near-dire fates of the characters in yugioh 5d's. in every recent duel a main character has nearly died, and their opponent, who is always someone with significance has (as far as we know) died. for real.

so far no one in yugioh has ever died (with the exception of marik's father in a flashback, and only in the japanese version). do you think that the death of a main character would increase the drama and realism of the story, or would it ruin the whole thing? choose your own position. you will receive points based on how well you make your point.

Help. It's quite a simle answer really. Yugioh (especially in 5Ds) has a lot of potential in bringing a darker plot into the mix of things. If a character died, ratings would either go up or down, based on who the character was, but honestly it would attract older viewers or something to the effect of. Moreover, the storyline would have a bit more suspense in it, with the auidence now aware a character CAN die. Of course, this means that younger viewers will watch more, sense it will seem even cooler to them as well.

I just realized that Pokemon TCG has a larger selection of cards.

i love the pokemon TCG. i've never lost a game with my own deck.

I just started.

Its cheaper than yugioh so I don't have to use my monthly 500$ on things like DAD.

I am using a Tyranitar control deck right now.

I went to a tournament and the judge called me a girl >.<

@ legend's response to question, everyone. All the people, 'cept Emo, are talking the game up, so should I get it? I have a locked summer job, so I'll save up, if you guys really want me to play...

@ debate, I'm outta this one... I don't know what to say to support and I know I never will...

Edit: @ Emo, that sucks... I don't think I'd make that mistake, but I haven't seen a front view of you yet...

Bonz(Zombie Boy) Died in Bakura's shadow game....

About the topic...well My fav character in 5d's has already died and her murderer is still alive making insane stuff.

But it will give such terrible twist plot to the history that 4kids will never ever dub Yugioh anymore......THAT COULD BE GOOD!

magic? yeah, give it a try. buy a starter or something. its less complex than yugioh, but has a richness to it as their are actually recurring characters that tell a story within the lore of the cards. so much so that there is a series of books based on the game.

i agree wholeheartedly with this one

Bonz(Zombie Boy) Died in Bakura's shadow game....

not necessarily. based on what we've seen of shadow games, when dark bakura is defeated in pharaoh's memory arch, bonz should have been brought back.
