"A...what?" He seemed confused at his question. "What is a player?"

"first time as well I see, your in for a ride kid."

Brian began to explain.

"this is the underground, or UG for short. and you are a player in the reaper's game. I am, or at least was, a stage hand, I've died again, and now my job is a bit impossible now. you should come with me to the scramble, my phone says there is a reaper there that will help explain this game, but it is a bit unusual, normally we don't do that right off the bat. I need information, and you need to stay safe, and coming to the scramble with me should do both for the time being."

"...Urf. Lemme see. There was a plane... and vultures... and a weird screamy kid. But not you."

 

Waking up to a spinning head, Kazuma carefully examined his surroundings. From what it seemed like, he was in Dougenzaka, an area of Shibuya which he really wasn't too familiar with. Grungy buildings lined one side of the path, and a large stadium towered from behind them. However, the only person in sight was a shadowed figure, a fair distance away.

 

Walking over, Kazuma began to extend a hand. "Hey. Are you stuck in this, too?"

"now where is that reaper?" Brian said as he looked around for the signature black wings.

 

"ah,there he is." Brian pointed him out to kinji and began heading towards the reaper.

"...Reaper? I...can't die...yet..." Kawazoe followed him.

Kazuma

Suddenly, you hear a scream. You look around, and find the source: A Shinigami, but it's something different about him. His face is covered by a snow-white mask, only with holes for the head and a skull inscribed on the front. In his right hand, there is a sword, shimmering with a red glow. You see no less than five Players lying in his wake, fading away. His gaze falls on you.

 

Kawazoe and Brian

The Shinigami, a short girl wearing a long, sleeved red jacket and white jeans, along with a red hat. She eyed Kawazoe briefly, then turned to Brian. Her eyes flung open in surprise. "I know you... You were in the Hazelwood Game, weren't you?" All of a sudden, you recognize her. Hannah Harrington, Hunter Shinigami.

"ARGH!" Kawazoe was screaming in pain. "Why...does recalling hurt me so much?" He fell to his knees, still screaming. Looking up, he had a look of great mercy. "The pain...make it stop..."

Letting his gaze rest on the shadowed figure, Kazuma suddenly felt a huge knot of dread pull itself in his stomach, and quickly retracted his hand, for fear that it would be cut off. The skull-faced human didn't seem to react to his sudden movement, instead slowly marching forward, at least five corpses in its wake.

 

"Aw, crap." With this exclamation, Kazuma dashed off behind him, turning his head to make sure that the... monster didn't pursue the chase. At the same time, he fished around in his pocket, checking for that mysterious pin that was there previously. 'Maybe that'll help... But just where is it?' For one of the first times in a while for Kazuma, panic began to set in.

"Please! Make it stop!" He started walking away from the reaper slowly. "I can't take more! Go away! Please! Go away Hannah!" Suddenly, the pain stopped. "What the hell?"

Just as you managed to pull out the red pin, with flames inscribed on the sides, the skull-masked Shinigami turned to you. "It's you... Kazuma Saruwatari." The mask emitted a blue glow, and you suddenly got the feeling that your enemy was smiling beneath the bone-white mask. "I can't believe I would get one of the Listed on the first day!" Two pairs of black wings erupted from the man's shoulders, and he rose ten feet in the air. "Koen Chisio! Burning Blood!" The Shinigami's sword lit aflame, and he dashes towards you.

Hannah turns to you, and sighs. "I have no interest in you, Player. It was your friend here that triggered some memories." She shrugs. "Well, I think we'll see more of each other." She pointed at Brian's chest. "I wouldn't be too surprised if you completed one of the Events, Stage Hand."

"Events? Stop talking crap to me." Kawazoe stood up, looking at her.

Hannah looked at you in surprise. "You're telling me you don't even know what the Events are?" She giggled. "And you want to win this Game? I doubt that, Player." She nodded at Brian. "See you later, Stage Hand." Without a word, she turned to help another player. A serene-faced man with bright, feathered wings walked up to you. "Arai Getsu, Tennotsukai official." As Arai approached you, you feel your pockets vibrating and heating up. "I've added a pair of powers to your pins that should let you survive a few days. Use it wisely; should you master it, it will become very helpful in your pursuit."

Wake of Destruction

Run past a target to inflict damage to that target. Passive power.

 

Bloom of the Rose

Unleashes a flurry of burning rose petals. Deals damage on contact.

Extending his hand out, Kazuma poured himself into the pin, willing for it to work. 'What's going to work... C'mon, c'mon, work! WORK!'

 

"MAKE IT GO AWAY!"

 

An eruption of red flames shot out from the pin, encircling Kazuma in flickering red-and-gold flames. Completely startled at what he had made, he stepped backwards, and was greeted by an unfriendly lick of fire. 'What the hell?' Holding his telescope in one hand and the pin in the other, he slid into a nervously-prepared fighting position, hoping that the mysterious winged man wouldn't break through the wall of fire.

"Strange...", Kawazoe said, "I feel power..." Seeing a ledge, he jumped. "What the hell? I can jump higher!" He looked down on Brian.

[Umbra]

Kazuma

As your winged nemesis strikes down on your shield with his incinerating blade, thunder roars. The edge is held back by the swirling flames, and you feel his eyes on you. A sense of terror spreads through you. "I see why you are on the List, Saruwatari. Only a high-classed Jintaishin could possibly hold back my strength." He uttered a single word, and the flames on his sword vanished. "I'll have to try something different, then." He raised his blade to the skies. "Creatures of the night, heed my call. Listen to my torments and strike down on my enemies. Let them feel the plague in my mind."

 

That was of course when the Noise appeared.

 

Out of every corner, every alley and every window on Dougenzaka, they swarmed. Frogs and vultures and monsters only to be seen in nightmares. The masked one smiled. "This is my army, Kazuma Saruwatari. Can you fight them while you fight me?" Around you, the Noise started to attack the others.

ooc: sorry I didn't post, I was on a cruise, parents dragged me along, they had net, but it was really expensive, so I couldn't be on.

 

Brian felt the surge of soul collecting in one area, taking on a form the was all to familiar. but that was far to many to be safe.

 

"sorry Mr.Getsu, but if you haven't noticed, a whole hell of a lot of noise was summoned, and I think it will get out of control soon if someone skilled in noise fighting doesn't step in and help. if you have something to talk to me about, it will have to wait, I can't let that amount of noise go unchecked.

 

brian runs off toward dogenzaka, launching himself forward with the great leap power.

 

(brian moves to the 104 building, then to dogenzaka if not stopped. this is assuming he is not, ignore it if you had something there waiting, I've run into that then instead.)

 

Brian heads into dogenzaka from the Don end, and is amazed at just how many noise there are, the place is flooded with them.

 

"this is far to many to be able to control, I have to take care of them. lets see just what my powers can do with this pin."

 

Brian releases his vibe, his white wings coming into existence. he begins to pour his power into the pin.

 

'lets try combining these powers' Brian calls up wake of destruction and bloom of the rose.

he dashes through the noise, rose petals gathering on his wings and shredding the land bound frog noise near him until his gets near the center of the flood of noise.

 

"wake of the rose!" he cries as he makes a sudden stop and sends the blade petals out in all directions with a flap of his wings, the wave of petals shredding any noise near him.
