Judgment Week (TWEWY RP)

Umbra

Recommended Posts

Finally, we are back in Shibuya. It seems that there have been three Games in a row, not too long ago; I am not glad we missed such an event, but there's nothing you can do. At least our colleague Hanekoma did his work well. I only recently finished reading his reports, and I can't say I'm not interested. This Minamimoto fellow could be useful, if we can find him. We, the Tennotsukai, are always looking for new recruits, and the Reaper could prove an excellent Mind Master one day. Until that, let's have a look around the Players' field; Hanekoma mentions some interesting names in the twenty-third report.

The Ruler's Game

Yes, Nitton's arranging another TWEWY roleplay. As you can see, the setting is different from the last one, but should be well known to you. The Tennotsukai, also known as Angels, and the Shinigami have joined forces to arrange a special Game. All around Tokyo, humans of young and old are killed in what is made to seem like accidents. On June 20, Midsummer Eve, they wake up around the streets of Shibuya, but their prize is no longer a second chance at life. It is no longer a fight against the authority, the Shinigami or the Tennotsukai. It is for the chance of becoming one.

It is not a second chance to live, it's a chance for a second life.

Over the last few months, the Shinigami and the Tennotsukai have worked around the impractical pin design. Now, each Player holds exactly one pin: The Genesis Pin. A Genesis Pin functions much like a Player pin - it will allow the wearer to search the area for Noise - only given a slightly more wicked tint. Upon defeating a Noise, the Genesis Pin tunes down the creature's frequency until it is the same as it's own. In that way, the Noise and the Pin will become one, and that Noise's powers will be available for use.

Up to six Noise can be stored in a Genesis Pin at once. If two Noises of the same kind are absorbed, they will take up one slot and the power they provide will be strengthened.

The Game is no longer divided in Days: A Player may rest and sleep as they wish. However, from the start, the Tennotsukai and Shinigami have issued seven missions known as Events, in which a Player's skill will be tested.

ooc: do you mind if I start, I think the event of my death could be used to help describe what is going on.

Brian walked out of the baggage claim into the front area of the airport, suitcase in hand, looking for his pick up.

"I wonder how this game is played, from the way the reapers talked, it sounded like this place is brimming with gold level players and elite reapers.

if that's the case, I've got my work cut out for me. so who's going to pick me up, it could be anybody."

you see, Brian isn't a normal human.

he's played this game before, and it's become a permanent part of his life.

he's part of a producer's crew now, a stage hand. his job is to help players get missions done by interacting with the world for them.

at least, it was before he died again.

"hey, players are here." Brian commented as he saw a pair of kids run through people. noise was after them, vulture noise were making fly by's.

"I'll wait," Brian thought as he sat down on a nearby bench, "it isn't my job to help against the noise after the first day, and I don't know which day it is."

little did he know of the destruction that was about to take place.

Actually, I was hoping for a few more people to join, but whatever. Further application by PM, people.

Message to the Players

Welcome to Day Zero of the Ruler's Game, Players. Today, we have a mission for you. In your pocket, there should be a ticket to Shibuya, where we will conduct the rest of the Game. Gate 5§43 is where you want to be.

the two players began launching attacks, but the strange thing is, they were all from the same looking pin!

"quil shot!" one called out as a hail of quilbolt needles sprayed the vultures.

"bear claw!" as the other took a swing at an oncoming one.

Brian was surprised

"well, that's a new type of pin. looks like it saves on a lot of space." he looked at his coat pocket, which was bulging with his old "give away" pins.

he noticed movement in the corner of his eye, and saw a reaper sucking on lollipop in a hoodie. he was leaning back in a second story high window sill.

"time to get my bearings." Brian tuned into the UG, his white wings, a counterpart to the reaper's black, appeared from his coat. he let out a light pulse to announce his presence.

"huh?" Koki Kariya looked down and saw a Brian with his white wings.

"that must be who I was waiting for" he jumped down and sat on the bench next to Brian.

" Hi there, those your noise?" Brian asked, watching the fight still going, the players looked to be losing.

Koki leaned back, taking a another glance at his wings before answering.

" Yeah, these two have been scraping by the last few days, but they haven't got even a single mission to their name, so I was just playing with them until you got here. name's Koki, your Brian I assume?"

Brian nodded, "yep, your producer asked mine to send me over to see how I would effect the game."

Koki wanted to know what he was here to do, "so, your not just a normal reaper, then what are ya?

"well, our official name hasn't been figured out since we aren't part of most games, but we like to call ourselves 'stage hands', we help the players, mostly just with real world interactions, but mattering on the day, other things as well."

Koki was intrigued

"so your like the opposite of me then? how do you get points?"

and that's when Brian dropped the bomb on him, " I'm still alive."

Koki was really confused now, " wait a sec, so your telling me you are alive? then how can you see the UG?"

"it's part of the deal." Brian answered, " we are alive so we don't have to expend our energy interacting with the world. I used to be a player, I survived my game, but didn't win, and I had no skill in making noise, so our producer saw his chance to even the playing field."

Koki remembered some rumors from a while back, "oh yeah, you guys got a new composer who made those impossible missions. so, CAT wants to see how you would affect a "fair" game?"

"yeah, I was called over...," Brian saw the vultures heading out into the sky towards a plane. "should they being doing that?" he pointed over at the window.

Koki looked up, "no, no they shouldn't be."

Koki attempted to dissipate them back into soul, but it didn't work.

"that's not good."

"problem?" Brian asked, going for his sleeve, and his pin deck.

"yeah, I can't break them back down, and..., sorry man, looks like your going to be dead again."

"what!" he looked up, and saw one of the engines smoking and the plane diving down, heading strait for them!

"oh not again." Brian said as he looked away as the plane crashed right into the airport.

Yamada woke up, obvviously confused. "Where. . ." he thought for a second, then he heard his phone beep. "To Shibuya? That gates over this wa, and theres the ticket. . . Looks like I'm all set." Yamada looked around, and went toward the station. He was almost there, when he was attacked by some starnge looking animals. "Whoa, what the hell are those!?" he shouted. His first instinct was to run toward the gate, but something stopped him. "Damn, why won't I move. Jeez, this is all so wierd!" finally, his feet let him run. He was going straight to the staion, and he couldn't seem to do anything about the birds.

I apply diligently.

Name: Iino Haruo

Gender: Male

Age: 16

Appearance: Lightly tussled jeans, sneakers (black, green stripes), a grey t-shirt with no print, a red jacket with thin black stripes running across it. Hair is a dirty blonde (shoulder-length; bangs are sometimes caught in eyes) and eyes are a faded blue. Average weight and height for a Japanese teenager.

Personality: Often nervous, stressed, and uptight. Stutters words often, and especially around women. (Eternity with puberty has to suck.) He's pretty intelligent, but is not street smart. This means he is less likely to win, but with a partner, he could excel.

Exact means of death: As a pressured and uptight student in the depths of Tokyo to excel in everything he does, Haruo has become depressed as of late. Talks of suicide and attempts spread through the school and pressed him even farther. Although he thought of it, he knew he never had the guts to do it. Then, while no one was home except Haruo, he was killed with what looked like a bullet, and a gun with his fingerprints was placed next to him.

Secret Word: Sho Minamimoto? idk.

OoC: You are accepted, even though I would have preferred if you sent the form by PM.

IC: A man wearing a long, red jacket walked up to Yamada. "You need some help with that?" The creatures, vultures by the look of them, seemed frightened in his presence. He smiled. "Begone with that, Noise! Do not bother no more, for the strength of the Tennotsukai shall repel you!" With that, Yamada saw in surprise that feathered wings sprouted from the back of the man's jacket, tearing rips in the red fabric. The vultures shrieked, and flew away to terrorize the other Players, who started to head for the gate as well. The man smiled, and greeted Yamada with a handshake. "Kazuma Hazegawa. I hope you'll make it through to the Game." Without another word, the air shifted behind him and the shielding wall that had kept the Players from reaching the gate shattered. "Go on."

ooc: Sorry, I was too lazy. Also, every time I look at this page I lose the goddamn game. >:[

bic:

It was freezing outside to Haruo! "D-Damn," he muttered, zipping up his jacket, then proceeding to cling to himself. He saw a plethora of people, all heading toward a gate. He noticed in particular a man with wings sprouting from his back shaking an older boy's hand. He stood still for a while, frozen in shock (and a little bit from the chilly weather). Then, a horde of vultures struck down from the sky, talons bared and sliced at Haruo. "Get away!" he cried. "Ya damn birds! Get away!" He tried batting at them, but his efforts were in vain. Soon enough, he was on the ground, getting pecked at as if he were roadkill.

"Um, thanks Mr. Hazegawa. I really appreciate it," said Yamada. What was up with those wings? Hum. . . This place really is more than meets the eyes, I guess. Thought Yamada as he went through the gate heading towards Shibuya.

"To Shibuya, and on," said Yamada to himself.

"Alright, now I'm confused." There were only 4 things that were currently evident to Kazuma Saruwatari. One, he had his telescope. Two, there was a gate. Three, lots of people wanted to go to the gate. Four, there were a ton of mad vultures everywhere. Five, one of them wanted to attack him.

"Gerroff me, you... thing!" Brandishing the small telescope like a baseball bat, he thwacked it firmly against the bird's skull, which resounded with a loud crack! Squawking, the injured bird flied over to to its compatriots about 50 feet away, who were attacking what appeared to be another teenager, who was lying on the ground in a futile attempt to hide himself. 'Should I go help? I do feel like that gate's important an' all. Sigh...' With that mental note, Kazuma ran over to try to help the boy, swinging the telescope wildly as he ran.

Haruo felt like there was nothing he could do. 'I'm going to die like this?!' he thought to himself. "Help! H-Help..." Haruo could feel trickles of blood running down his side. Suddenly, a few of the birds were lifted off of him with a smacking sound. A confused looking boy, most likely older than Haruo, was charging at the ravenous birds, swinging around a telescope like a sword. As the final vultures were lifted, Haruo tried his best to sit up. "Thank you," he gasped. "I'm Iino Haruo."

Suddenly, five men with white-feathered wings on their backs, wearing white linen robes, appeared. One of them, a brown-haired one with deep-set red eyes, shouted to the others. "Tennotsukai, unite! Collective Downtuning!" The vultures suddenly turned their eyes to the Tennotsukai as the five men formed a pentagram, red lines appearing between them. Redeye nodded, and closed his eyes. One by one, the others did the same.

The vultures were vanishing.

They started to shiver with uncontrollable force, as if struck by a great cold, and gradually faded away until there were no more. The five sighed, and Redeye shouted once more. "Players, this area is no longer safe! We have only repelled these for a short while. Please get to your plane and await further instructions from the Composer or the Archangel. Do not hesitate to follow their commands." Then, they left.

OOC:werewolf: God Moding much?

ooc:

it was just a story intro, and it didn't do much but let one reaper know me, and kill off me so I become a player again.

plus, it gives an event that you can use as the source of any npc/pc players that you might want to use/ let join.

sorry if I went overboard, I went into storytelling mode when I was writing.

ps. with that done, I guess I pop up in your starting place, where is that, I want to get to one of the events.

Final call for flight 29A7D3 to Shibuya, Tokyo.

Four hours later, the plane approaches Shibuya. Far below you, you see Tokyo glistening in the moonlight. "Ladies and gentlemen, we will be landing in exactly five minutes. Make sure to hold on to your personal belongings, as the Reaper-supplied aircraft will return to it's noise form in twenty seconds."

"Well, I'm on the plane. For now, at least." 'Who knows what could happen next', Kazuma glumly thought to himself. After helping the boy know as Haruo Iino back him, he had excused himself, and dashed to the gate, just barely managing to squeeze in near the back.

Suddenly, a rapid shaking covered the plane, as people worriedly looked around.

'...as the Reaper-supplied aircraft will return to it's noise form in twenty seconds.'

"It's a good thing I said 'for now'," the teen calmly remarked to himself as he waited for the plane to turn back into the giant vulture it was before. For the record, Kazuma had never skydived before. He'd need to learn fast.

Part One

Enter the Game

Two men, one in a black jacket, one in scarlet red, overlooked Shibuya. The 104 building stood tall beneath them as they hovered a few hundred meters above it. Red turned to the other. "Are you sure about this game, Vishkaya? I mean, with the Stage Hand and all..." Vishkaya nodded. "This is the way it must be, Sanae. Hornwood managed to escape; you know that as well as I. And he took down almost all of us with him." He looked down; the sun was rising over Shibuya's Underground. "Seems that the Players should awaken soon. Let's not bother them my floating around here, shall we?" With those words, the two Tennotsukai vanished.

The Players

Welcome, Players, to Shibuya. You should be in a close proximity to the scramble crossing, where a Shinigami official will greet you and guide you in your first steps in this new world. In your left pocket, you should find a white pin with a black skull mark on it. This is your Genesis Pin, your proof of being a Player. You will find this pin very useful.

Archlord Vishkaya

Black Dragon Kiryu

PS: Should you not find your way around here, a map of the city will be given to you at the crossing.

The Statue of Hachiko - Kawazoe Kinji and Brian Garden

Dogenzaka - Tadayoshi Yamada and Saruwatari Kazuma

Cadoi City - Raven Davids and Iino Haruo

You awaken in a strange new city, having just received the text message from the Shinigami and the Tennotsukai. All around you, you see others having the exact same thoughts as you. ...what? Slowly, the crowd moves towards what you believe is the scramble crossing, although the city is as unknown to you as the dark side of the moon.

OOC: Feel free to elaborate from here.

Brian got up and looked around. he was in a different area of the city now.

there was a distinct lack of weight from his coat pocket.

He checked, and found all of his pins, even his personal set, were gone.

in there place was one.

"well, so much for bahamut, I liked that one."

he trys to call up his power, and finds most of it there.

'must of lost some of the energy when I lost my body, it should come back in time'

he looks around, trying to remember the map he got to study.

"that way." he figures, seeing the top of 104 over to the left.

Brian heads over to the scramble to meet the shinigami.
