mr.tacos
This guy (twisted) gave me a -rep 4 n.bumpingwhat does it mean when you do dat?
Saturn of Elemia
Having an abundance of locked threads tends to make a forum look very bad. Just check the thread and don't post in a thread which has a last post of over a month old. (Deleting old topics is simply not an option since a lot of people here take their post count seriously)
gelgaroth
this would've been handy to know earlier.... i didn't get -rep but i got 20% warning.also, about the warnings, do they reset back to 0 after a while if you don't get any new warnings? Saturn of Elemia
this would've been handy to know earlier.... i didn't get -rep but i got 20% warning.also' date=' about the warnings, do they reset back to 0 after a while if you don't get any new warnings?[/quote'] Unless the warnings are permanent (which is rare), they go away after a set period of time. The expiration date is provided upon the warning issued. There is mention of necrobumping in the general rules of YCM. Please take the time to check these out. It will save you a massive headache in the long run - TRUST ME!
gelgaroth
ah, i see the expiration date. thx. and i had a look at the rules. now i just gotta remember not to make stupid mistakes.
Saturn of Elemia
It means that you are posting in a thread in which the last post is over a month old. Doing that is considered 'necrobumping' and is not appreciated. Always check the last post of a thread before posting in it. If the last post is over a month old, then don't post. Necrobumping is against the rules also.
tommers2008
Yea what he said... If you found an interesting topic that you would like to talk about but it is old, why not start a new one about it..If it was on a card, pm the creator with your comment instead of nbumping...But if all comes to all and you must open it for some reason(must be important enough) clearly say you no this is old thread but you are commenting to try revive it or something along those lines, people will therefore see you no necrobumping is bad but you had decency to say why you doing it or something.. LiAM
bump = making it appear at the top of the thread list, necrobump = making an old thread pop back up, - this is bad.
Lyfe.
Why lock them? Just don't post in them if you don't want to get in trouble...
mr.tacos
Then they should start locking those threads ;(
