[spoiler=The Basics of the D-War System]

D-War is a new form of system in which the duelists them selves, not only fight along side monsters but fight as monsters, by virtue of "D-Linking" which is basically fusing the player with the monster, this captains the duelists attack points, and special abilities, both of which are equal to the monsters. the Duelist can only be D-Linked to 1 monster at a time, and a D-linked monster does not take up space on the field. A players Defence however is based on his ability to avoid or block attacks from monsters or the opponent.

if you have any questions on the D-link system feel free to ask.

[spoiler=prologue]

The meeting had a cheerful feel to it, they'd done it, finished the program that would see Duel Monsters go from a card game to a virtual combat sport, Grant Rhyder, the president of Combatech industries, the company responsible for project D-War, stood at the end of the huge table, and looked out from the enormous window that occupied nearly the entire wall.

“Excellent gentlemen, not only have we revolutionised Duel Monsters but we've built my grand stage!” his stone-cold green eyes gleamed below his greasy black hair.

Mr. Rhyder had always been interested in Duel Monsters, but, he was always trumped at the last second before a great triumph, but now, he himself could protect his Life Points, instead of relying on worthless holograms.

“Prepare the system for it's final test, I need to be sure about this.”

One of the technicians rushed from the table, heading the president's command, closely followed by Rhyder himself.

“System online”

“D-Blade activated”

“Loading Decks”

“DUEL”

an arena phased into view, with a silver, robotic humanoid standing before Grant, both combatants held shinning blades of energy.

“Summoning Mad Sword Beast”

The blade-horned dinosaur appeared, a gleam of madness in it's reptilian eyes, it was just waiting for the order to charge.

“End Turn”

Grant drew a card, then spoke.

“D-link, Wall of Illusion to myself.”

Wall of Illusion appeared, however, it slowly began to envelop Mr. Rhyder, warping around his body, until he was nothing but a shimmering silhouette, he charged forward, D-blade drawn, however, instead of slashing at the dinosaur, he jumped onto it's back, and it began to fade away, returning to the robot's hand, continuing his assault he lept down, to deliver a brutal slash to his opponent, who blocked the blow.

“Stop the test!” The room faded away, and Grant sat up from the Simulation Pod, in the room he actually occupied, a cold, steel room.

“It's ready.”
