The legend of Oedipus was so epic my bro and i made a a legion for warhammer 40k rpg based entirely on it. I thought it was extremely depressing, imean check it. His father tries to kill him when he's a baby because he was destined to kill him. Then he grows up kills his father when the guy insults him. Wins this contest by answering a tough riddle. marries this hot babe, who turns out is his mother. she kills herself, he goes blind and is exiled. his two sons fight over who gets to be the next king. one dies and is left unburied outside the city limits. The sister shows up and is like bury my bro and the regent is like NEVAAA and locks her in a cave. Then the regents son and this oracle dudette is like bury the brother and let her out. he decides not too she hangs herself and the regents family commits suicide. total but epic emoness.

What do you think? >.<

For the record, my viewpoints remain completely unchanged.

Discuss Athena, Penelope, and Odysseus. The only other time I've seen a goddess dote on a mortal warrior as Athena did Odysseus was Thetis to Achilles. My implications should be clear.

Also, discuss the heavenly chronology maintained by the Greek mythos. Oceanus is followed by Kronos is followed by Zeus is followed (presumedly) by Artemis... The trouble is, it pretty much stops there, as the only man Artemis ever loved is asleep. Forever.

Jason and Hera... IDK. I hate the story of Jason and the Argonauts, so I'll have to look that over again.
