Yup' date=' told ya!

Can you tell me this?

Why where Epimetheus and Prometheus banned to Tartarus?

[/quote']

1. Prometheus didn't go to Tartarus.

2. I'm not sure Epimetheus was sent to Tartar either.

Sorry that I was being EXTREMELY inactive, guys. Hi.

I don't think God himself is counted as Mythology' date=' right?

[/quote']

I don't give a crap! This is a mythology club' date=' we talk about mythology. God is theology.

YHVH is the name of God, according to Moses. When Moses asked for His name, God revealed it was YHVH, there are dozens of ways to say It and pronounce It, so we list His Name in phonetics. They come out to YHVH, ehyeh asher ehyeh, it means "I Am What I Am". I believe that implies He does not have a name. We call Him what we see in our hearts, but I call Him God. YHVH is disrespectful in my opinion.

[/quote']

Technically, he is.

1. God, being the name of a species, is a bit like calling a dog "dog". Quote proving this:

For the race of immortal gods is by no means the same as that of earth-treading men!

Using the only name He gives us' date=' YHVH, is then a sign of respect.

2. Some definition of "myth" are:[list']

[*]a traditional or legendary story, usually concerning some being or hero or event, with or without a determinable basis of fact or a natural explanation, esp. one that is concerned with deities or demigods and explains some practice, rite, or phenomenon of nature

[*]A traditional, typically ancient story dealing with supernatural beings, ancestors, or heroes that serves as a fundamental type in the worldview of a people, as by explaining aspects of the natural world or delineating the psychology, customs, or ideals of society

[*]A story of great but unknown age which originally embodied a belief regarding some fact or phenomenon of experience, and in which often the forces of nature and of the soul are personified; an ancient legend of a god, a hero, the origin of a race, etc.; a wonder story of prehistoric origin; a popular fable which is, or has been, received as historical

[*]stories about divine beings, generally arranged in a coherent system; they are revered as true and sacred; they are endorsed by rulers and priests; and closely linked to religion. Once this link is broken, and the actors in the story are not regarded as gods but as human heroes, giants or fairies, it is no longer a myth but a folktale. Where the central actor is divine but the story is trivial ... the result is religious legend, not myth

[*]and the official one: a traditional story concerning the early history of a people or explaining a natural or social phenomenon, typically involving the supernatural.

As the Bible and related texts fulfill these requirements, they can be safely added to the Abrahamic mythos.

Epimetheus was the guy who married Pandora.
