Felix
hey' date=' i was thinking of putting together this team in Platinum: TyranitarItem: Choice BandAbility: Sand StreamEVs: 252 HP/ 68 Spd/ 188 SpAtk- Crunch- Thunderbolt- Focus Punch- Substitute DusknoirItem: LeftoversAbility: PressureEV's: 252 HP/ 52 Def/ 204 SpDef- Shadow Punch- Thunderpunch (although could be swapped for Fire Punch to cover Heracross and steels)- WoW- Pain Split DragoniteItem: Choice ScarfAbility: Inner FocusEVs: 4 Atk/ 252 Spd/ 252 SpAtk- Draco Meteor- Outrage- Thunderbolt- Earthquake InfernapeItem: Life OrbAbility: BlazeEVs: 128 Atk/ 252 Spd/ 128 SpAtk- Close Combat- Flamethrower- Grass Knot- HP [ice'] WeavileItem: Expert BeltAbility: PressureEVs: 4 HP/ 252 Atk/ 252 Spd- Night Slash- Brick Break- Swords Dance- Ice Punch AlakazamItem: Choice SpecsAbility: SynchronizeEVs: 4 HP/ 252 Spd/ 252 SpAtk- Pyschic- Focus Blast- Shadow Ball- Trick this is all subject to change, as i don't have platinum quite yet, but when i do have it this is what i was thinking aboutR/F plz thank you :) Very cool but if you're trying to take on competitive Wi-Fi you'll need a Spinner. Also you have no Defensive Wall. It would be better to change Dusk into Physical wall and use a Snorlax or Blissey in its place (Tentacruel would also be viable). To do that you should probably take out Tyranitar. This will also lower your Choice count and Choice Items are bad for beginners because you need to be very good at prediction to use them properly. Xing
Felix, what're your opinions on having 2 of the same type in a team? Cause really, my team would have 2 Infernape's until I get better pokemon. A Level 100 and a Level 67.
Godot
Rotom doesn't need an AR code....... Then how do you get into the room without an AR?I thought it was an event. It is Event. If you can't wait then You Need An AR.
Felix
^Don't be impationt, just wait. Having two of the same species breaks competitive Species Clause. Don't forget that there's an option on WiFi to bump your Pokes level up to 100 so training to gain levels is unecessary unless it to evolve it. If by type you meant like Water or Grass then occasionaly it can work. For example Swampert and Gyradose can go together because they share none of the same weaknesses, or as another example Venasaur and Drapion. Flame Dragon
alright' date=' i want to keep TTar in the mix, but is it possible to make Swampert a physical sweeper?if so, how?[/quote']Swampert can work as a physical sweeper, but not very well. He is just to slow to be able to make a big enough whole in the team. He is a great tank. hey' date=' i was thinking of putting together this team in Platinum: TyranitarItem: Choice BandAbility: Sand StreamEVs: 252 HP/ 68 Spd/ 188 SpAtk- Crunch- Thunderbolt- Focus Punch- Substitute DusknoirItem: LeftoversAbility: PressureEV's: 252 HP/ 52 Def/ 204 SpDef- Shadow Punch- Thunderpunch (although could be swapped for Fire Punch to cover Heracross and steels)- WoW- Pain Split DragoniteItem: Choice ScarfAbility: Inner FocusEVs: 4 Atk/ 252 Spd/ 252 SpAtk- Draco Meteor- Outrage- Thunderbolt- Earthquake InfernapeItem: Life OrbAbility: BlazeEVs: 128 Atk/ 252 Spd/ 128 SpAtk- Close Combat- Flamethrower- Grass Knot- HP [ice'] WeavileItem: Expert BeltAbility: PressureEVs: 4 HP/ 252 Atk/ 252 Spd- Night Slash- Brick Break- Swords Dance- Ice Punch AlakazamItem: Choice SpecsAbility: SynchronizeEVs: 4 HP/ 252 Spd/ 252 SpAtk- Pyschic- Focus Blast- Shadow Ball- Trick this is all subject to change, as i don't have platinum quite yet, but when i do have it this is what i was thinking aboutR/F plz thank you :) Very cool but if you're trying to take on competitive Wi-Fi you'll need a Spinner. None of my teams have one and most teams I face on shoddy are the same. I say he keeps Tyranitar and uses that as his special wall/tank. Don't forgot that with sandstom in play wis SpD is 50% higher. So for the new TTar I sayItem: LeftoversNature: CarefulEV: Wall: 252 HP / 152 SpD / 100 Def (the 100 defence lets him take more of a pounding from both sides. You can always move those to SpD.Tank: 252 HP/ 152 SpD/ 100 AtkThis move set should work well for both EV spreads.- Crunch- Stealth Rock - Earthquake - Substitute Also I say drop Dragonite for Salamence. For him try something likeSalamence~ Draco Meteor ~ Flamethrower ~ Brick Break ~ Roost / Crunch EV: 80 Atk / 252 SpA / 176 Spe Item: Life OrbNature: Rash Weavile really isn't needed since you have TTar giving Dark attacks and Sal/Dragonite taking care of other Dragon. In his place I say get a steel type so you have something to take Dragon attacks. Bronzong works well their. For him I say go withEV: 252 HP / 86 Atk / 80 Def / 92 SpD Nature: SassyItem: Leftovers~ Gyro Ball ~ Explosion~ Hypnosis ~ Earthquake
Felix
Urgh one of those random a$$ed wall breaker Salamences that TAG uses. You're probably right about not having a specific Spinner but just something that has it, just in case. tentacruel for example can support and act as a Spinner when necessary. Normally when making a team you start with what pokemon you want to use and what you want that pokemon to do. From their you fill in wholes. Tentacruel doesn't fill in that whole that well. Also people should mainly use Rapid Spinner if their team is weak to Stealth Rock. Also, since I'm to lazy to pm you, up for a battle on shoddy Felix? I want to test out my new, IRL, Plat team before I finish it off.
Felix
Mmm... I would but wouldn't you want to save it for the tourney if at any point we battle then? I'll be using a completely different team when we battle on Wi-Fi so I'd have a slight upper hand. How's it been doing on win average so far? How's it been doing on win average so far?I can't finish the team since I can't get my Diamond pokemon over to Platinum. Also I haven't even started training them. The win record isn't so much the problem. More so I want to see how my new pokemon do compaired to the ones I once had. One of them is a lot better now, but the other 2 are kind of on the fence about. I know that you know my team so I want to see what you have to say. Also, for those that don't know he're talking about a pokemon simulator. It is really good if you want to test out teams/ideas/changes with out making them. Felix
It's generally where the experts do most of their battling but I think Wi-Fi shows dedication as well as skill.

Skill does come into play for shoddy to, but the dedication is miles apart since the IRL it takes time just to breed and get good EVs. So up for the battle? Xing
Yeah, I kinda know. But I don't care. It's my game, so I play my way. So if I use all Grass, then I use all Grass. If I have a team of Tanks, then I have a team of Tanks.

Felix
Yes it's a game but why would you want to be betean in it? I consider Pokemon fun and a hobby but that doesn't mean I can do what I want and still hope to win against stronger opponents. It's exactly the same as Yugioh, you make a bad Deck you get betean and eg/ not as fun as it would be if you had a good deck and won a lot. Xing
Yeah, well, it's hard for me to do that, cause my friends (most) suck at Pokemon and Yugioh. So I never really get challenges.....
