The Slime Lord
(This is the right place for this, right?) So my PS3 just crapped out on me. After playing LittleBigPlanet for about an hour or so, I took a break, and decided to play again about an hour or so later. When I tried to turn on my PS3, the light turned green as normal, but then turned yellow (hence the name, YLoD, or yellow light of death) for a second and then started flashing red. I tried a few times to get it to start up again, but no good. After talking with a Sony Rep for a while, he said my PS3 most likely suffered from overheating issues. That's kind of weird because I've played CoD4 for hours at a time, and this time, I was only playing LBP for about an hour. Whatever. So to get this problem fixed, I have to send my PS3 to Sony, and for $150, they'll either fix it, or send me a replacement. I didn't ask if I'm getting a new model, or the 60GB launch model I have, which is discontinued. Either way, I'm getting the game back, so that's good. I'm sending in my PS3 during the weekend, and I'm probably not getting back until sometime around the beginning of April (hopefully before April 16, when I should be getting Final Fantasy VII Advent Children Complete and the Final Fantasy XIII demo). So yeah, suckage... ~ R.I.P. ~ My PS3 12/25/2006 - 3/19/2009
Akira
Owch =( I'm not a console man myself (I use my computer for everything) but my PC has crashed on me before and the feeling isn't nice. Well, I hope they replace your 60GB model, because it really is superior in every single way.

Shradow
Wow... That sucks... But at least you have a PS3 (or really, had, for the time being). When KH3 comes out, I highly doubt it'll also be on the PS2...
Skuldur
Wait they're charging you for a replacement.
Shradow
You should have just said that it was defective or something, and you probably gotten a new copy without charge.
The Slime Lord
@Guy with a bunch of squares in his name: If KH3 comes out, yeah, it won't be out on the PS2. Hell, seeing how long it's taking Square to make their games, it probably won't even come out on the PS3. Also, I don't think they would believe that it was defective. Yeah, technically it was (or rather the fan was), but I doubt they would believe it would take me over two years to realize it was defective. @Riku: Yup, $150. (And here I am trying to save money for Otacon...)
RiffMaster Alex
That sucks Slimey! Hopefully it doesn't take too long to fix. my friend sent his 360 in because of the RRoD and it took 6 months. :l

Spiff!
I've had my PS2 since a year after that came out, and it's never EVER broken down. Add the fact that you can get most games for it AND PS3, i prefer the PS2.
Flame Dragon
That's really odd though. I mean most of the time when anything craps out on you their is a reason. But here it just happened from out of the blue. Meh, nothing you can really do about it. Just sucks that you need to pay $150 to get it fixed. starwebs1
I do not have a PS3; I have a PS2. Still, I gotta be careful when I play Wii for hours and hours...and PS2...and GC. Oh, and if this was an XBox, it probably would have just shattered. They are not very strong. Too bad...I would have been really upset if it was one of my consoles. EDIT: Three years? Wow. That's pretty good, even though it broke.
